Fight Song - Rachel Platten
The song that inspired the story! This was basically what got me to do the Will story at all.
This is about Will's return to Seaside (Poisoning the Sea) and Marick and Oliva.
Coming Home (part II) - Skylar Grey
Song that I found ages and ages ago, when I used to look for music under the term 'Anime Wolves'. Took a really long time to figure out it was 'Part 2' and not 'Part 1' that I had heard.
This is about Will returning to Seaside (stories like Poisoning the Sea).
Monster - Paramore
Another song from a Will AU that fit this story as well.
This basically is the fight between Will and Rattlesnake in 'the King's Pawn'.
Battlefield – SVRCINA
This was always meant to be part of PtS's and Will's playlist since I first heard it. Basically, it's a really popular NightCore video, and that's how I found it.
All three of The Game's series are around war. Sometimes it isn't as obvious, but they are. In this case, this one is around the fight between Will, her inner demons, and the cats around her.
'We commit the sins again, and our sons and daughters pay' was always a line that stood out to me, as it reflects all the stories. The 'sin' is that the Normals and Paranormals are always pitted against one another and the descendants are left to heal the pain the ancestors caused.

This song has been in the Will C. Morgen playlist for years. Used for a AU, but still fits this.
Basically, the songs about Will and her family (Mother (Kite), Adopted Father (Rattlesnake), and Real Father (As yet unnamed)). She can't escape the past as much as she'd like to.
Defying Gravity (Original Cast Recording/2003) - Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel
For a very long, I'd had the line (which I found on a random topic on the old forums) 'Something has changed within me, something's not the same. I'm through with playing by the rules of someone else's game'. Well, one equally random day, I found the song it went to.
This song fits a part in the story just before 'Tempest Falls'. After Will's death, Marick and Oliva are forced to figure out what where they fit in the world without her. Oliva wants Seaside, to be its leader, and she asks Marick to join her. Marick, knowing what her sister is like, tells her no. That Oliva will never see the goodness in Normals and will run each other into the ground. The song really fits the 'fight' they had. Marick sings 'Galinda' and Oliva as 'Elphaba/Elphie'.

And now the GOOD, WHOLESOME PLAYLIST is in a sort-of order now.  Some have repeat songs because one song will fade into another section of the plot. For example, Battlefield – SVRCINA, faded the Feline War into the tension between Normal and Paranormal in the New Era. Coming Home (Part 2) however, isn't a fade out. It just fits both. (How I see it might be different than you, but Coming Home fits both Will returning to Seaside and the living warriors after the Toxic War returning or making a new home.) |

I don't mind repeat songs. Its the same for my playlists - the same song will appear on three or four playlists because it's just so good and fits everything I write.
honestly, Holy is such a good song. One of the best I've heard in a while.

Yeah, I really like it as well. It made it into this playlist and the human version. Though it fits a coupletely different, and emotionally painful, part of the human story.

Hey, this is cool! I found the song that a quote I've been using for the Game was from. Apparently, it's from "Defying Gravity (Original Cast Recording/2003)" by Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel. Which is also making it into New Era's playlist, since it features Marick and Oliva's relationship with each other greatly. When Oliva tries to take over Seaside after Will's death and asks Marick to join her. Marick refuses, and starts her own rebellion against her. Also, I'm updating this now, with more songs. |
