Correct and correct. Remember Thief of Time? We also have Chaos and Famine, so any guesses as to them? In this case, in From Fingers to Fur, one of the parallels was Swiftmind, but I clearly had to change that in my story. In all seriousness yes I really agree. I would hope so. Slowly I'm working on not dropping too many references and working on character development instead.

Vaguely I'm due a Discworld reread once I get round to renewing my library card. So, um... Dovewing could be famine (bc of that one time she helps stop the drought), and I guess it makes sense for the one not in the Three to be chaos? Firestar? idk. In all seriousness, I don't want to add any more to your workload rn, but you could pm me References are also good cx But yeah, good luck with the character development!

I too am due for, like, my third reread. Through several of the Watch series and several of the Death ones. Thief of Time being the foremost. The parallels I can confirm is Dovewing = Death, Jayfeather = Sickness, Lionblaze = War. For the other two, neither involve Firestar. Famine wont turn up till later. He'll practically be the last, along with War, to really make and active, face to face appearance. Ah, but I'm spoiling things. Whoopsy. Within the Fingers to Fur universe, the one who turns up most often is Death. He's the most sympathetic to the clan cats (this sound familiar?) and others that begin to show themselves more are War (Bloodclaw) and Sickness (Illfur, I believe was his name?) Thinbone (Famine) didn't turn up much there either and Wickedheart (Chaos) was that guy who randomly appeared and disappeared. We almost saw Stormwing (the butterfly that creates storms every time it flaps its wings) more than Wickedheart.
Heh heh. Once Sky of Shattered Stars is done at the end of the month than I might be able to take on another project. It's just this month that's insane. Though who knows with my first college English class coming up.
I failed in the latest chapter and another reference was dropped. I'm switching POVs to run from suspicion. cx

It'll only be a first reread for me. And I haven't yet got hold of the Tiffany books or a bunch of others :/ Good luck with your reread! I remember loving ToT, probably should bump that to the top of my reread list. *Chases away spoilers* But that all sounds very interesting... Both yours and Greebo's.
Start after this month then? Or do you want to see how college English goes?
Those pesky references! xD

I've read most of them, but the ones I haven't I ... kinda want to savior. And wait until I have time. Most of the Tiffany books I haven't gotten a hold of either. I need it for 'research' because I'm RPing Death in The Paradox House currently. XD
Hummmmm... well, this is the hardest semester I've had yet, so as it's a normal semester it will probably be about the same level of difficulty as some of the past classes I've had. So yes, after this month should work fine! Hopefully I'll be back to my usual level of activity, thus able to do more things.
HAPPY 1 YEAR!!!!!!!
I'll have to read it later. ;-;

OMG NEW CHAPTER AND ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OMG anyways, sol is SOOOOO unsettling and it's just masterful how devious and manipulative you've made him. i'm so in love with the way you've handled this fic, i really am. I KNOW, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I'm so glad you think that - Sol was one of the things that took the longest to get right in this chapter. He is super devious and so fun to write! And thank you <3

Very enjoyable research Here's hoping then! THANK YOU!!!!!! Take as long as you need

That's weird. :/ Well, I mean, sometimes I see them shelved in Children's over here. I love the fact that at different points in reading Terry Pratchett I liked one set of series over the other. It was Rincewind, Witches, and Death. And then later it was pretty much everything else that I realized later 'Wait, wait ... THESE ARE GREAT'. Yep yep. <3

Wish I could manage that! I tend to lose motivation if I can only read in very short snatches. Weird things that bookshops and libraries sometimes do :/ Yes! I read a lot of the witches and wizards way back, and then I found ToT and started (slowly) getting through the rest.

I still have yet to read Small Gods. I just can't seem to get into it. @.@

Motivation in general is weird. If only I can get to 'I need to know what happens' it'll take care of itself. Stocking only some of the books in a series, and not the first one. Why.
Me neither. So I should leave it til last?

This is a very true statement. Pity that if someone cuts in too often in that moment than I still loose motivation. :/ MINE TOO. It's crazy annoying. Actually, at a past library I thought book 2 was book 1.
I'm just using that principle. Maybe if I get far enough into it I'll see something I like.

The eternal struggle - book suspense vs real life Particularly in bookshops xD They have no excuse. I don't think I've done that, but I've read series in very weird orders.
That's very possible. Or sometimes you just need to leave a book for a while

Real life wins but the book stays in my head all day.
Yes. That is always annoying, I will flat out state. I can't tell you how often our library is missing a book, even one to request, however.
Very true!

...distracting me with theories about what will happen until I manage to finish it
Ugh. If you can't even request it, that's just insult to injury. I never used to request books though, because my town library required you to go up to the main desk and ask. I was always too scared so I just read books in the wrong order :/

Tantalizing me with frustration over the latest cliffhanger. There's supposed to be a way to request books but sadly our library is a sad thing. We can't get most books unless there is a really, really high demand. I requested books but I used to want to know the ending so badly that I just read them out of order. For one series it actually saved me from abandoning the series because I knew the later books were 10xs better than what I was reading in the beginning. Anyway, as it is, I still often read books out of order because one is more accessible than another.

Thanks! I'll get them up later today. How caught up are you?Hah, yes. Or just pure shock at what just happened. Ouch, that's tough I guess it must be a funding issue. One advantage, I guess. Although I always hate when that happens, it's really hard to recommend people books on the basis of "These first few books aren't so good but I promise it gets better." Ditto. I told you how Sunrise was the first Po3 book I read, right?

Just the latest chapter is the one I haven't read.So-and-so character died? Suddenly a good time to get called to dinner? Yep. It is. It sadly is. Exactly. I mean, I RP one of the characters, so people keep asking about the books and I keep forgetting . So I build the series up and then suddenly remember all the stuff that really doesn't ... work in the author's favor and dig the hype down again. 'Oh ... er ... I read the books out of order, so ... like, the later ones are so good but ... you ... kinda ... need the information in the earlier ones. x.x' I believe you mentioned it. Did I tell you the second Warrior book I read was Sunset? I usually read the first book first and last book last. Usually. So it was Into The Wild and then Sunset. I actually skipped Long Shadows and Sunrise. Missed a lot of key Hollyleaf stuff.

Thanks! Yay, I'm glad you like it! And I'm so glad Sol's working! He's certainly interesting to write

Plus, deleted scenes are here! (might stick them on the front page later...) The original first half of the prologue and the first scene I wrote for this fic, way back when the plot was more focused on the Dark Forest. This isn’t StarClan.
The medicine cat blinks nervously, taking in her surroundings. Dark gnarled trees that rise as far as the eye can see, blocking out the sky. A carpet of dank, slimy leaves underfoot; the stench of rot in the air. It’s night, the only light provided by fungus clinging to the dying trees, which gives off a sickly green glow. The medicine cat is alone in the forest - everyone is alone in this forest - but when she strains her senses she can spy shadows flitting among the trees in the distance, detect the scent of cat in the air.
This isn’t StarClan, but it is a dream: The medicine cat stands squarely on four paws, unencumbered by the usual limp caused by her injured leg, always a telltale sign that she isn’t in her real, physical body. This was how the medicine cat still sees herself, seasons after her injury; this is how she appears when she communes with StarClan.
Where is she?
“Cinderpelt.” The voice, coming from behind, startles her; she twists around, her heart pounding. “Well, I certainly didn’t expect to see you here. Come to see what the other side’s like, eh?”
“Certainly not.”
The speaker chuckles, either at her words or their contrast with the look of surprise on her face. He’s a dark brown tom, his fur almost blending into the undergrowth behind him, his yellow eyes regarding Cinderpelt balefully. “But don’t you remember me, Cinderkit? You seemed a lot more eager to talk to me, last time.”
“What last time?” Cinderpelt mews stubbornly.
“Very excited to talk to one of ShadowClan’s most famous warriors. Not so worried about what I wanted with your denmates, am I right?”
She shrugs, hoping the horror of the memory doesn't show on her face. It was a long time ago, she was a kit, she hadn't realised, she couldn't have realised… It turned out alright in the end, regardless. The kits who’d been stolen were returned, and soon afterwards this warrior - Clawface - was killed. What Cinderpelt knows about his other crimes, she learnt secondhand. “What are you doing still around anyway? I can’t imagine StarClan would accept you into their number.”
A good enough insult, but a stupid question: she’s pretty sure this isn’t StarClan…
Clawface smirks. “So you do remember me, huh?”
Cinderpelt glares at him.
He meets her eyes. “Cats get here for all sorts of reasons. It surprised me when I first started running into the others, the depths some of them’d sunk to. And then again - a lot of us are here just because of StarClan’s pettiness. Made the odd mistake, crossed the wrong cat. You’re only evil here if that’s how the living remember you.”
“That makes no sense.”
“You don’t come here for things to make sense, medicine kit.”
She tries not to rise to the bait. “I’m pretty sure I know more about StarClan than you could, murderer."
“I’m not here to argue with you.” Clawface begins walking, his muscles rolling beneath his dark pelt. “In fact, I’ll be kind. Make it up to you.”
“How can you do that? You’re dead. Thank StarClan.”
“You want to know what this place is, right?”
She takes a step forward to catch up with him. “Maybe.”
“You’re not the first of your Clanmates to dream their way here, to start with. I could tell you, but - That might interfere with things. Like I said, it’s where you go if StarClan doesn’t like you.”
“You mean, if you go around stealing kits and slaughtering elders.”
“Your decision. Everything’s a lot more… subjective once you die. But here’s what isn’t subjective: If you get hurt here, you get hurt in real life. And if you die here, your soul will never find StarClan. And-” Clawface paused, relishing the drama. “If one of us finds you while you’re awake, you’re just as dead as if you were here. So, sweet dreams and all that.”
Cinderpelt glowers, trying to figure out if he’s telling the truth. “Why are you telling me this, if it could ‘interfere with things’?”
“Everything I’ve said is common knowledge, if you ask the right cats,” Clawface mews. “You don’t think I’m that stupid, do you? And besides - we’re always recruiting. Just ask your Clanmates.”
“You’re lying!” Cinderpelt feels anger rise inside her. It’s dawn, now, and the forest is beginning to waver, the rotting trees giving way to glimpses of the sun-drenched medicine cat den in ThunderClan. (The dry spring. The thirsty kits. The evidence of drought, of desperation.) “My Clanmates wouldn’t-”
“You don’t know that,” Clawface mews. “Think about it. Them and you.”
And then he’s gone, and Cinderpelt is awake. An alternative meeting between Ivypaw and the three (in between chapters 2 and 3) That morning, Holly wakes to bright sunlight streaming through the walls of the woven den in the ThunderClan camp. Lion and Jay are still beside her, both of them snoring gently, but in every other way it’s the opposite to how Holly woke up yesterday, to how she’s woken up every other day of her life. She didn’t realise how close together the Clan cats live, all of ThunderClan’s dens squashed into the same hollow. It’s convenient, she supposes, but it must make them vulnerable to attack, or flooding, or fire - not to mention being woken up by a pair of kits waging an almighty quarrel over a piece of moss.
Half annoyed, half amused, she listens as the kits’ squalling gets louder and is finally broken up by a mother’s stern telling-off. Further away, she can hear other voices as ThunderClan’s daily business gets underway. So far, nobody has come to check on Holly and her littermates, so she stays in her nest, feigning sleep. She’s unsure how to act around these cats, especially after the effect her parents’ names had on them.
Jay wakes up then, and he insists on Holly and Lion getting up as well. “I can’t believe you let us sleep in,” he complains to Holly. “Or is being captured by Clan cats not exciting enough for you?”
“I don’t think we’re exactly captured…” Lion says.
It’s good hearing their familiar voices among the strangeness, an idle argument that feels like it’s been waged a thousand times. Being in ThunderClan hasn’t changed the dynamic between the littermates. “What do you think they’d do if we tried to walk out of here?”
“We’re trying to stay here, mouse-brain,” Holly says. “I don’t see how getting up early would’ve helped, anyway. That grey tom said last night - they’re waiting for their leader to come back from somewhere.”
They’re interrupted by a sullen light tabby she-cat who Holly guesses is a ThunderClan apprentice. “You’re the rogues from last night,” she states, dropping a plump mouse onto the ground in front of them. “Brightheart sent me to give you this.”
“Thanks,” Lion says. The apprentice backs out of the den, but slowly, reluctant to go to wherever she has to be next. Holly calls her back, “Do you know when we can talk to your leader?”
“No, sorry.”
Jay frowns, his blind gaze fixed on the she-cat. “He’s running late,” he mutters to Holly.
The she-cat’s blue eyes grow wide. “How do you know?”
“Jay thinks he can read minds,” Holly says lightly. “He’s got heightened senses of smell and hearing, is all. He probably heard someone talking about it.”
“That’s… interesting,” the she-cat says.

That's awesome! Were any of them good? (I keep getting distracted by webcomics oops)
Shows the strength of the character, if people can like them without reading the books. And yes, that is pretty cool.
Voices? Do you mean in the audiobook?
Ahh, good luck! Looking forward to the new pages if/when they happen cx
