It had been a week. A week of trying to come back from such a punishment that, fortunately, was not carried out. Removal of a finger for the Keepers, a toe for the Weres, and a tooth for the Vampires. Stopped just short moments before the action took place. Only because the Instructors refused, so the Councilors and The Gifter decided that this punishment would be saved for later, should the species act up again. So back burner it was...
A week of quiet, of lack of drama, for once. Everyone trying to be on their best behavior, so as to not face The Gifter's fury. Fortunately classes were cancelled on the weekend, to help the students calm. It was now Sunday, and students were relaxing, resting, and preparing for classes to begin again the next day.
What would this next week hold?

Alkaline stared out of her window in her office, watching over the battle field, where a small handful of Keepers and other students practiced. She let out a sigh...what a week it had been. Riva, Luca, and Deba were gone, but the whole of the Council was regularly checking in, which left her worried. More importantly, she had studied everyone over the past week, and one of the things she had noticed most of all was the time Bray and Zo spent together...what did it mean?

Kylie had never felt more fearful than she did not. Even when she was nearly on her deathbed, close to death as Malcolm tried to drain her. Everything with the fight, with the jail cell, with Luca...she knew that, had it not been for Jupiter...well, she was sure Aris and her would be dead. Then there was Malcolm himself to think about, too. she was always looking over her shoulder. But at least Namika was training her and Aris how to fight, even over the weekend when they were off. She was trying to learn, and did feel like she was learning something. At least, she hoped. She clearly needed to in this new world she lived in.

Bray now sat with Zo, out in the marsh, their horses grazing not far away. Just the two of them, secluded and out of eye and earshot of...well, anyone. Of the students, of the other instructors, of The Gifter. His stomach was mostly in knots when he thought about her. Who she was becoming, and also what she would think, what she would say if she knew of the relationship that he and Zo had formed. Certainly she would not approve, two Keepers, as instructors, getting so intimate? He couldn't risk losing Zo, not with how close he felt to her now. The passion that had sparked between them. He laid beside her in the tall grass, the two of them on their backs staring up at the foggy sky, the softness of the blanket brushing his arm as he held her hand.

Zo sat cross-legged on the floor in a quiet hallway. She had a notebook in her lap and was idly drawing, lost in thought. The drawing showed a small forest scene with a lovely little cabin, smoke drifting from it's chimeny. She needed to get her mind of the events of late and couldn't think of anything better than this. Well...she could think of one thing better but he was one of the things she was trying to keep out of her mind.

Ulrich glared across the way at Lia and Lio, the two twins demoted to the Omegas of the Pack, forced on the outskirts of the group as they sat and hung out in their spot in the marsh, just past the edge of main campus, where the main building was still in sight. Meanwhile he had two more problems, the first being Angel, who clung ever tighter to him despite him trying to push her away. Finally, there was Fen and Faolan who seemed deadset on overthrowing Ulrich's rule of the Pack as Alpha. And what would he do if that took place? This Pack was all he truly had, as he had no interest in his "home pack."

Malcolm now sat in the cafeteria with Niki across from him. His eyes watched all around him, listened closely, trying to catch the snippits of conversation that he could. His goal was to learn as much as possible. If he did, maybe possibly he could get himself out. His eyes fell on Kylie, Aris, and Namika, the three humans who had joined up as a team, and his teeth bared just ever so slightly, lip curling over his fangs to expose them the tiniest amount. His hiss could hardly be heard, only by the vampire sitting by him. Zaria was nearby too, with her little pet Violet.

Zo rested beside Bray with one arm behind her head, in comfortable silence. If it wasn't for her open eyes, watching the sky like a lazy hawk, and the occasional squeeze of Brays hand, one might think she'd been asleep. She tried to keep her mind free of the events that had happened recently, tried to focus only on happy, positive things like the handsome, wonderful man beside her.

Sin was calm & motionless under the water. He sat cross legged on the bottom of the pool, which was filled with other students. A couple of Selks here and there, though most of them were in the ocean. Mostly Hydros, and plenty of other teens just looking to cool off and have a good time on their last day before classes. He took in a breath under the water, a deep one. Eyes closed, he felt carefree in the water. It was where he belonged. But more and more, over the past week, he had grown closer to Yuri, someone who, in all honesty, was the exact opposite of the "water home" he was so used to. In fact, so opposite of the person he was. Yet more and more, he felt something pulling, something tugging him to her. Was she his new true place to be? Was he meant to be by her side?

As happy as Bray was, laying silent there beside Zo...it couldn't last. The biting fact that rumbled inside of him, eating at him...well, it was enough to now draw him out of the peaceful place they sat. "Classes start back tomorrow." Which was good, he knew. But he also knew, "I worry that as we get back into training, our time will be cut short." He didn't want them to be seen together, which strictly limited their intimacy. He didn't want to say it to her, but he also wished that would dwindle their passion, yet it wasn't. It hadn't. The less time they spent together, the more their passion sparked.
Keepers weren't meant to be happy, were they? It was not their purpose.

Bjorn raised his bow and aimed the arrow at the heart of the tiny target. He let out his breath and released the arrow, sending it singing straight into it's target. He practiced like this daily, only feeling complete with his bow, an extension of his own arm.
Enilamme and Enileve sat together in the cafe. Enileve was reading a book, half listening to her sister babbling beside her.

"I worry about that too," Zo whispered. Though she'd been worried all week about being seen spending too much time together, she was dreading the lack of free time they'd had lately. She sighed softly. Would it ever get easier? "Maybe we can...figure out some way to make time for each other. Even if it's only once a week?" Would that be enough?

Maze was out in the battle field, with Achlys. Without Xhai knowing, of course. Since Maze's mother Riva had left, Maze had taken to training the young Shadower here and there, as time prompted. She had made the little girl promise not to tell her father, and so far, that seemed to be working out. "Focus," she ordered the girl. "You're letting yourself get distracted by the other students. Only focus on your powers and what I am telling you," she reminded her once again, voice cool and demanding. The air was hot, and sticky. The fog was not too strong now, starting to dissipate as the sun warmed the island.

Bray simply shrugged, considering that. Should he say what he was really thinking? That their relationship was setting them on a dangerous path? That they couldn't focus on their students if they were too caught up in one another? That if Alkaline found out, she would in all likelihood be peeved, would believe that they were not fit to be instructors any longer, and possibly even Keepers?
No. Instead he lied, turned to face her, and smiled. Brave face. He was good at that. "We will." And he wanted to. More than anything. But was it the right thing to do? Word from Alkaline regarding an attack on yet another Safehouse gnawed at him. Should they be fooling around and falling in love when their mission was to train these students to fight the Hunters that sought their destruction?

(I'll try to read back through and figure it out. It was one of the two though. He was stationed as a guard there while Alkaline and the Councilors were working out punishments. We mostly skipped the fending off Luca thing though, simply out of necessity since we all went inactive.)

Zo smiled softly, only half reassured by his brave smile. She reached up with one hand and traced a finger around the side of Bray's face from his eyebrow to his chin. She wanted nothing more than to make this work. They could right? Surely they could be good teachers and be together.

As he sat with Raini and watched Viva run around outside, Rexin allowed himself to relax for the first time in a week. Looking at his students, he hadn't been able to go along with the punishment, and he doubted he'd ever be able to look them in the eye again if he had gone through with it. Some sort of punishment should have been in place, he agreed with that much, but what Alkaline had asked was just too much. Everyone had been tense lately, but at least there had been no more fights, at least for now. He knew Lia and Lio had been mostly keeping away from the other werewolves, they were feeling the heat from refusing to get involved in the fight. He was proud of them, absolutely, but he also felt worried. They needed to trust and be trusted by the others, and conflict among themselves certainly wasn't going to help their case.

(It was Bjorn! Lol) (I'm going to start this plot up again for when Sum is on that way she can just reply and it's ready to go) Kylie growled, backing away from the bars as Luca stepped closer with the key in hand. She did look down at her wrists, almost instinctively; they were...messy, as he had called it. Ugh, god. "What are you doing here?! What do you want?!" she demanded, looking over at Aris, both of them holding their lame-weapons tight.
Malcolm was baring his fangs now, standing and hissing. His eyes were narrowed at Luca, stepping forward towards the cell door. "Why don't you back away?" he ordered Luca, for once, actually seeming concerned for Kylie's safety. Strange, but okay. Kylie gave him an odd look, but didn't say anything of it.
Luca cocked his head ever so slightly at the foursome, interested. "And why would I do that? It would completely defeat all the hard work I just went to get the girls. And I have to admit, I only originally came down here for her-" he mentioned, pointing at Kylie, "But I suppose I can have fun with her too. I have to, at this point. I mean, I have to kill you all to shut you up, so..."
Malcolm stayed quiet, putting his hands up, watching him as Luca began to turn the key in the door. He continued walking towards the cell door, to block Luca's entry to Kylie. "Or," he began to offer, "you leave and the four of us stay quiet. It's your word against Bjorn. And like you said, you're The Council, so who will believe him? Think about it. Better chance of them believing that if we stay quiet, rather than if you've four bodies on your hands. Let's be smart about it."

Bray closed his eyes, feeling shivers down his spine upon Zo's touch. His faced warmed up, her embrace enough to keep him going...Then, one of the horse's snort was enough to draw his attention away. With a sigh, he pulled away from her, and sat upright. "Time to go. Too much longer of this and one of us will be missed. Then someone starts looking for us..." he trailed off, glancing at the horses happily munching away on the grass. He readied himself to stand, but heard steps in the distance, as the grass was pushed down under someone's weight. Pushing Zo down, he got close to the ground himself, staying hidden.
