(lol that's ok! Better late than never! Omg lol I don't k ow who to Rp with her! I really wanna do my Blood Magik Lily though I'm scared she'll scar Star xD I'm also working to add more info to each species description so that will be coming up slowly guys just take a look periodically  ) Bray held a flat face for a few moments. "You're right," he acknowledged. But then he pulled away from her. "But we don't have time to waste. Let's go," he added, taking her hand and beginning to pull her towards the door to enter the building. |

Lily saw a young girl running down the hallway towards the stairwell. She smirked, her usual, dark and sinister look. As she took a deep breath in, the expression turned to a grin. Through the air, she could sense the girls' essence. She was a Bloody. How wonderful...Instead of greeting the girl, she followed her, careful to stay out of sight and hidden, something she was well practiced and very good at. She hugged the walls, far enough behind to not have anyone take notice of her. She didn't even need powers to do this.

Kylie shrugged. "I'm fine. Perhaps we should take a better look around? The island seems big enough- probably has some secrets," she offered. "We may need to use them later," she told her, honestly. It was clear she wasn't totally onboard the 'Keeper' party. She needed to know everything that was going on, at least as much as she could figure out. And Ava seemed nice enough, smart enough. She looked young and nimble, even more so than Kylie was.

Zo sighed and let Bray drag her along behind him. she hoped shes'd managed to calm him enough for him to be resonable but she didn't think the stubborn man would be reasonable either way

Bray didn't exactly 'storm' into the Gifter's office, but...well, yeah, he stormed in, with Zo behind him looking hesitant and cautious. He had a grumpy look on his face, staring at the Gifter.
Alkaline was standing by her window, overlooking the grass and fog just outside. Her office was located on the first floor of the main building, the best way to keep an eye on everyone. She could even see the school building, well, when it wasn't foggy. But today it was mostly hidden, only the outline of it in the near distance. Without turning to look at the two, having not laid eyes on them, she greeted the pair. "Bray. Zo. What can I do for you today?" She continued watching out her bay window, standing rather than sitting.

Zo gave Bray a look at warned him to be nice. She hoped he understood because she didn't dare speak her thoughts in case the Gifter heard. She turned her gaze to Alkaline and waited, nervously for the conversation and hoped she wouldn't have to break up a fight.

Alkaline turned finally to gaze at the two, her eyes immediately locking with Zo's. She smiled brightly, eyes not tight, cheeks relaxed. "Zo, darling. You seem tense," she remarked, motioning the pair to the couch in her office, while she took her own seat at her desk, spinning her chair so she could face them. "Let me guess, Bray put you up to this, hmm? He has always been the...convincing one, yes?" she determined, still smiling.
Bray rolled his eyes at his old friend, undeterred by her friendly, innocent attitude. He didn't sit, but did move over in the direction of the couch. "First you appoint Rowan as a Keeper- a decision both myself and the whole of the council disapproved of, for good reason. Then you bring him here, to Evermore. Why? Even if you insist on making him a Keeper, he could be taught in the safehouses. He could be watched more closely. And now you bring in more new Keepers that have no training. Tell me why," he demanded.

"I'm fine," Zo said in reply before Bray began to speak, "just a bit sore from practice." She looked over at Bray as he moved across the room and began to confront the Gifter. She knew this was necessary and prayed it passed easier and safer than she was expecting it to.

Alkaline quickly raised an eyebrow at the pair, though it wasn't one of confusion; she was far from surprised. Instead, she just let out a short, but humorless chuckle. She got out of her chair, to join the two where they stood. "If you could see them, I would show you what Rowan's being here has already brought. You have two students, already, working to make sure he cannot beat them again. Namika will be certain that she cannot be knocked out so easily again. Mick will take care to be sure that he watches his fellow Keeper's back. Rowan's superior skills...well, I dare say they nearly surpass the three of ours," she said with a light, once again humorless, short giggle. "If I had left him to train in the safehouses, do you believe he could have grown to love the Gifted, without being near so many of them that are his own age? He would be around a few, sure...but not all of them. Here, he can truly learn what they are like."
Bray was tense for a moment, but it quickly began dissolving. "Yes. You've said that before, but..." He shook his head, moving to sit now. "And why would we bring Keepers like Kylie, Ava, Aris here, without any information at all? Sure, we rarely tell them where they're going when we ship them out on the boat. But they know what it means to be a Keeper. The have some knowledge of what they'll be doing. It's not right, Alkaline. They're scared and confused."
"All the more better. They should be scared," the Gifter was quick to respond. "If they're not, the Hunters will kill them the first chance they get," she told the pair honestly.

"Rowan is dangerous to the other students," Zo piped up. "I worry for their safety when he's involved. How can we teach them properly if everyone is afraid of him?" she asked. Blush rose on her cheeks as she spoke; she wasn't one for confrontatino.

"And what, exactly, will safety do for them when they're fighting Hunters? Hmm?" Alkaline interjected, glaring at the two. "Nothing. They'll not only be killed, but likely tortured. Safety has saved no one in our world. You're thinking like Humans, not Keepers," she reminded with a look that clearly was the end of the subject.
Bray sighed, knowing how deeply embedded in her belief she would be. It was clearly no use, and unfortunately, she always had the last word. "We'll see just how well this plays out. I doubt he will do them much more good than the harm he may cause- he hates the Gifted, despite his half-assed attempts to hide it," he let out with a snort.
Alkaline went back to her friendly, cheerful smile. She didn't reply to Bray. Instead, she was looking right at Zo, deep into her eyes, almost as though she could read her soul. "I wouldn't worry about my decisions. Either of you. Perhaps focus on your own, yes? Because emotions and the actions that come out of them tend to haunt us down the road," she warned, clearly recognizing the very rapid escalation of closeness the pair was starting to feel.

Zo felt a shiver trail down her spine as Alkaline seemed to see right through her as though she were made of glass. "Y-yes mam," she stammered, not really sure what she was agreeing to. She nodded quickly and shuffled her feet a little, uncomfortable by the womans' stare.

The Gifter's smile continued as she motioned them off. "I have to make a call to the Council, so you'll excuse me, yes?" she remarked; it was far from a question, rather a statement.
Bray sighed, feeling uneasy. How dare she simply brush him off? After everything they had done for each other...he quickly padded off with Zo at his side, his footsteps heavy as he threw open the door and left the office. "This isn't over," he remarked to Zo when they were out of earshot in the lobby, seeming grumpier than when he went in, but calmer, at least.

"I'm sorry," Zo said, "is.. there anything I can do?" She looked up at him, looking concerned and slightly confused. He was walking so fast she had to nearly jog just to keep up with the tall man.

Bray shrugged. "We just keep an eye on Rowan. Make him learn to like the Gifted. We've had reluctant Keepers before." With a sigh, he added, "And teach the new Keepers the best we can, give them a lot of one on one practice. I know you've got a lot on your plate with this being your first year, and teaching so many students, but it just means extra work on your plate, along with the rest of us. Aris will especially be your focus, she's in your grade," he noted as he slower to accommodate her pace.

Zo nodded. "I think I can help the newer ones out a lot. Since I'm a first year and all. Maybe I can help get them where they need to be? I can hold classes during my free hours to teach them the things they should have come here knowing already," she offered.

"We could do it together," Bray offered. "I usually just spend my free time practicing or making plans with Alkaline." With a shrug, he noted, "I don't think I'll be doing much of the latter for awhile."

(Nevermind I don't see anyone well just keep rping these two. I was trying to slow up cuz I didn't want the romance thing happening so fast but lol oh well let's do it anyways!)
Bray smiled at Zo; the idea was solid. "Need any help setting up your classroom, or are you all set?" he wondered. It being her first year, and having only been here a week now, she likely still had some unpacking, he figured. And he didn't have much else that was better to do other than to keep training...

While she is completely devoted to Ulrich, sometimes the same can't be said of his devotion to her...so they really love one another? Maze flashed another grin. "Oh, we'll see about that." The woman winked at the Shadower. "Maybe when you prove your a big girl," she offered her. "I mean, you practically are. You're just not doing what the other big girls are." Mazikeen shrugged, throwing a bite into her mouth with her fork as she ed her head in interest; this could be a fun investment of her time...
"Really? Do you think I could have a puppy?" She beamed, not seeming to take notice of what Maze said after the suggestion of having a puppy. Sending a look over at Maze, Xhai smiled down at Achlys and said,"Why don't you draw me what kind of puppy you like, ok?" "Ok!" The young girl took the piece of paper her dad was holding out to her, and she started drawing with the pen from Xhaiden's pocket. As Achlys was doing that, he looked over at Maze and said through gritted teeth,"Could I talk with you, Maze? Away from Achlys?" |
