(This roleplay is now open for joiners once again, due to many members leaving the roleplay on the old forums. I know this isn't a fancy layout or anything, sorry about that. Maybe I'll make it nicer at a later time.)
Welcome -- x
Hello there! Welcome to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! Here is where you will learn the art of many aspects of magic. You will participate in a range of different classes - from Care of Magical Creatures to Defence Against the Dark Arts. Our school has been thriving for hundreds of years - ever since four of the greatest witches and wizards claimed it (Rowena Ravenclaw, Helga Hufflepuff, Salazar Slytherin and Godric Gryffindor) and split the students into four houses. It has been this way ever since. Hogwarts has been home to many great and famous witches and wizards, including Professor Dumbledore (one of the greatest teachers of all time) and Harry Potter, who is still famous as the 'boy who lived' and is honoured for destroying Voldemort. We all look forward to you participating in this school.
~ Professor Weaverthorpe - Headmaster

History -- x
Hogwarts was founded by four great witches and wizards by the names of Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin. Each of them created their own house, the houses which are extremely famous throughout the wizarding world today. Godric Gryffindor created Gryffindor. Godric valued courage and loyalty, and made sure that any student which possessed these abilities should be able to attend Gryffindor house. Rowena Ravenclaw named her house Ravenclaw. Being an intelligent woman, Rowena wanted only the most intelligent students in her house. To her, having a sharp mind was much more important than being cunning or brave. Salazar Slytherin named his house Slytherin. He strongly believed that only witches and wizards of a pure blood should be accepted into this school, but as that could not happen, he made sure that the sorting hat only allowed pureblood children into Slytherin. Helga Hufflepuff was a kind woman, and she believed that any student that possessed magical ability should be allowed into the school. She decided to take any student that did not fit into the other three houses, as long as they were loyal.
The four houses still remain today, many, many centuries later. In its time Hogwarts has raised many great, famous Witches and Wizards. Just a few of these are: Professor Dumbledore, Nicolas Flamel, Harry Potter, Alastor Moody and Lily Potter. Now Hogwarts just awaits the next great Witches and Wizards to arise whom attended this only magical school located in Britain.

Plot -- x
The current plot is based around the Triwizard Tournament. Except, it won't be the same sort of tournament as last time. Instead of four different schools competing, Hogwarts have decided that they want to host their own tournament within the school. Four students (who must be fifth year or above) will be picked from each house.
So far in the roleplay we are coming up to the first task, but we still need more people to take some places. Please check which places are available down the list on a later post.

Teachers -- x
These teachers do not need to be claimed. If you wish you may claim a teacher but it is not vital for them all to be claimed as they do not have a very big role in this roleplay (apart from the headmaster). I'd much rather fill up the Triwizard Tournament places
Eugene Weaverthorpe//Professor Weaverthorpe//Headmaster
Professor Weaverthorpe is a small wizard. The way he walks almost resembles a penguin as he seems to waddle along. He has wispy white hair which reaches almost to his shoulders. His forehead and cheeks are lined with wrinkles and he has small beady pale blue/grey eyes. But his size and looks shouldn't fool you - Professor Weaverthorpe is still a very powerful wizard, which is why he is Headmaster. He can also be quite snappish, unless he is close to a student, which makes many first-years afraid of him, as they do not know his much friendlier side. --((claimed by Bronze_paw))
Scorpius Malfoy//Professor Malfoy//Defence Against the Dark Arts//Head of Slytherin
Professor Malfoy greatly resembles his Father, Draco Malfoy. He is thin and tall with a long, pale pointed face and small gray eyes. His hair is slick and blonde, but is a little longer than Draco's. Many judge him due to his grandparents being extremely loyal to the now-deceased Lord Voldemort. Professor Malfoy is a strict teacher, and is always ready to give out detentions and take house points away from students in Ravenclaw, Gryffindor and Hufflepuff as he loves his house much more than the others.
Rose Weasley//Professor Weasley//Charms Teacher
Professor Weasley is a highly intelligent witch, especially with Charms. She is tall with waist-length dark ginger hair and freckles dotting her nose. She is a kind but strict teacher - one that loves her students but will give them tough love, which, in her eyes, leads them to success in their exams.
Teddy Lupin//Professor Lupin//Potions Teacher
Professor Lupin is a very skilled Potions teacher. Like his deceased mother, Tonks, he is a Metamorphmagus, and like his deceased Father, Remus, he is also a Werewolf. He learnt potions due to needing to take potions every month before his transformation into a Werewolf, which is extremely painful. Ever since he has enjoyed the subject. Professor Lupin's looks can of course be whatever he wants them to be, but his favourite is dark gray/black hair reaching down just below his ears and blue eyes.
