Bridget walked back out from the lab, carrying a Mudkip in her arms. The Mudkip was male, and looked like just every other Mudkip. Nothing special about his color or design. She grasped him as though the Mudkip was a stuffed plushie that a little girl would squeeze when terrified of the noises outside their windows at night. "I'll call you Angus! I'm sure we'll make great partners Angus, you don't need to worry about being stuck with a weak trainer." She said. Angus looked up at his new trainer, giving her a wide smile. "Mudkip!" It cheered happily. Bridget smiled back, "Alright, first things first, we're going to go train! Common!" She set Angus down as she started dashing off to the next Route over.

"It's right over here!" Keleki exclaimed, holding the ginormous map of the city in front of him. The paper was so big that it obscured his view, he stumbled across the sidewalk barely avoiding poles and signs. Of course, thanks to her brothers horrible navigation skills, the group was lost for a good long while, until Akai eventually got the map in his own hands. They arrived at the meusem about an hour later, Keleki not losing an ounce of his excitement. "Alright! Finally, jeez Akai way to take the long route." He walked up the steps of the giant stone building. It looked like it was straight out of the roman era, with giant chrome pillars and statues of mythical Pokemon leading the way up to the giant double doors. The place smelt of fine art, rustic and old and sacred. Kalahni sighed and rolled her eyes, thankful to finally be here. She followed her twin at a slower rate, until she too reached the main doors. Her brother was stopped there, staring in awe around him.
This place... Was... HUGE. Fossils of ginormous unknown Pokemon hung from the ceiling, old pieces of original art lining the walls in elegant frames. A set of red velvet ropes created a walk through-path for the entrance, where glass cases stood,
full of ancient vases and statues. "Hello, and welcome to the Ancient History Mesuem. Are you here for the shiny exhibit?" A man walked up to them as if from no where, startling Keleki a bit.
"Oh! Uh, yeah! Yeah we are." He beamed, holding onto the straps of his backpack.
"Well, luckily for you admission is free on Sundays, for kids at least. You'll reach the exhibit by following the path down to the left," He pointed to a section of the museum that remained cleared out for traveling-exhibits. Keleki buzzed with excitement, breaking off in a dash.

Cladius was in a bit of a dower mood to say the least, having been refuted and ignored the day prior by some girl and her weird little sister or whatever. As always his Feraligatr was consoling that he wasn't just seem creepy loser with inept social skills. Still it was disgruntling, his small party now deciding to pass some time by attending the museum and catching the sight of those shinnies he heard were parading around. At the moment he was simply gazing through the fossils of the aquatic section. Shark tooth in his pokeball and Empy hanging onto his shoulders from his back as he slowly walked around.

It was Poppy who noticed that man first. He sat on the top of Kalahni's head, looking around in wonder at everything in the mesuem. He turned his head all the way around behind them to see a familiar army coat. "Hoo!" He ruffled out his feathers. Kalahni looked up, feeling his pace a bit on her scalp.
"What's up Poppy?" She reached up and grabbed him by his round tummy, cradling him in her arms. She turned around to see what had bothered him, seeing Claudius browsing the art. "Oh h-" She paused herself a bit short, wondering to herself for a moment if she was sure that she wanted to initiate that conversation back up. But, she had been pulled away early by Peter last time.
She felt it would be rude not to say something, so she quieted her voice and trotted up to him, tapping his shoulder from behind. "Ahem..." She smiled politely, looking up at him as he was a good amount taller than her. "I did, just start by the way..." She laughed nervously, answering the question she never got to voice last time. "Yesterday, you uh... Have any badges?"

Akai rolled his eyes about the long route comment but didn't argue. Technically, it hadn't been his fault. He hadn't been the one to get them lost in the first place. Taking advantage of being called a kid he walked in with the rest of the group and looked around. It was cool. The last time he had been here he hadn't come to the museum. His Rowlet was perched on his shoulder and watched the people with interest.

The exhibit was rather spacious, and simply, basically being a walk through with little glass cases that contained the Pokemon. At first, Keleki was amazed. They passed by an Espeon with a pelt of green, just like on the front of the brochure. "Whooaa..." Keleki put his face to the glass to watch. The little cat-like Pokemon lifted their gaze up to him, and something about the way those orbs looked into him was... A little... Sad? They bowed their head, flicking their dual-ended tail. "Huh..." He murmured as he continued to walk on. There were so many different kinds, pink Furrets, Blue Spinaraks, some of the changes were obvious, but others, like the Pikachu Keleki had to take a closer look at. He finally stopped at one that not only caught his attention, but continued to hold it. A golden Vulpix. The small fox-Pokemon was pacing around in its glass cage, paws methodically churning, leading them in a quick and constant circle. They looked up when Keleki stepped up to the glass, and the same look the Espeon had was there, but it was stronger this time. It was desperate... Intelligent eyes, studying him... Keleki was captivated so deeply that he jumped out of his skin when a palm pressed against the glass, and he looked up to realize a tall man as standing there. He wore a black suit and a red tie a purple flower tucked in one pocket. His black hair was slicked back, he looked like he sure had a lot of money. When he smiled it was more like a snicker, showing white teeth that hadn't seen a spot of grime. "Beautiful aren't they...?"
"Y-Yeah... They're really pretty, I've never seen any in the wild..."
"Well that's because they're incredibly RARE." He said, taking off his white gloves and stuffing them in his pocket. "The chances of finding a shiny Pokemon in the wild is about 1 in 8192... Meaning, you have roughly a 0.01220703% chance of EVER finding one..." Was he... bragging? Regardless, it was working on Keleli at least.
"Whoa!! So how did you get so many?" The man clammed up at that, his lip going stiff. He brushed it off quickly though.
"Luck and grit."

Akai had noticed the sad looks as well. He had been studying the furret when it flopped down sadly. Raising an eyebrow he saw Keleki. Pulled his rowlet down into his arms Akai walked over, greeting the other trainer and looking at the man with interest "Who's this?" he asked, arms around his Rowlet in a slightly protective manner.

"I'm the owner of this exhibit." The man answered before Keleki could open his mouth. He would have said 'some weird guy who started talking to me.' But, alas. "Charlie Hederforth." He said formerly, looking at the blue Rowlet tucked in the boys arm. "A fine specimen you have there..." He murmured, bringing his gaze back to Akai, looking keenly less interested now that he was looking at his face. "If you're ever up to negotiate a trade," he handed him a small business card that he pulled from seamlessly out of nowhere. Before he could smooth talk him anymore, however, Keleki bared up again.
"So how many do you have?!" He went back to looking at the glittering gold Vulpix.
"124. And counting. Of course, not all of them are here today, I only brought the ones that I deemed..." He gestured with his hands as if searching for the words... "Well enough." He ended vaguely.

Akai held his Rowlet closer, eyes narrowed. If this man was thinking he'd give away his partner, the man was sorely mistaken. The card was shoved at him nonetheless and he slid it in his back pocket, petting his Rowlet to let it know he wasn't considering it "What do you mean by well? Are they sick or something?" Akai asked, moving to his friends side "But that's an impressive number, must've taken a long time."
