"Yeah it was very relaxing for me," Sam laughed, it was nice to not have their champion title on the line for once. "Let's get our teams healed up and then sit down and talk." They suggested, wanting to get their team rested and maybe some coffee before talking to Percy about Team Infinite and the events of the days prior.

Percy agreed and led Sam to the Pokemon Center in the town. Nurse Joy happily healed up both of their Pokemon, even giving Cheri a free berry. Cheri managed to do that to people and would often get free treats. Once their pokemon were healed up Percy walked over to get a drink and asked "So, what can I do for you now that we've finished our battle?"

Sam held up a finger and quickly chugged the dark coffee they had just ordered. They weren't one for coffee, especially dark coffee with no cream, but desperate times called for desperate measures. They took in a deep breath when they were done and shook their head really quick. "You've heard about the Team Infinite stuff going on right? Like you got my message about them the other day?" They prefaced, wanting to make sure he was caught up on that before going into the event at the Fall Festival.

"Percy sipped a bit more slowly at his own drink and nodded "Yeah, I heard about that." he had gotten the message and had been surprised to find that Team Infinite had made their move. It had been a long while since they had done something so public. Recently it was just an active time for them. Nothing had happened around him yet.

"Well they attacked the Fall Festival last night," Sam quickly explained what happened with Lacy and how she had escaped. They left out the part where they had nearly fallen to their death trying to stop her. "And after I helped clean up the mess yesterday I tried to figure out which way she had gone so I flew the direction she had started going and it lead this way... I was wondering if I could get your help searching the area for some sort of base of operations for Team Infinite." They finally finished explaining everything.
(Its cool! I had an Instacart Order I had to go do anyways!)

Percy listened intently. He may be easily distracted, but when it came to serious stuff like this he was all ears. As Sam finished he nodded slowly "I see... I had heard something happened, but not all the details." he flipped out his phone and quickly sent a message before returning his attention to them "Ok, I have someone working on the south side of town. I'd be happy to help with anywhere else."

"Great, the more people we can get looking the better." Sam nodded gratefully. "I was wondering if you could help me look around Lake Shuri," the lake that was considered the "eye" of the region, it was very wide and home to a gang of vicious Gyarados that didn't like people encroaching on their territory. "I want to make sure they aren't hiding out around there."

"Of course, I'd be happy to help." Percy replied. He finished off his drink and stood so he could throw it away "We can head out whenever you are ready to go." he considered switching out some of his pokemon so he'd have a full team instead of his gym team, but figured that it shouldn't be a problem with the pokemon he had right now.

(So the Team infinite Hideout Is NOT by lake shuri but i figured they would probably run into the Gyarados and have to fight them for a little)
"Let's go then!" Sam stood and tossed their empty cup and headed out of the Pokemon Center, they called the ride Pokemon they had used to fly here, a Dragonite from the Pokemon League, and waited for Percy to get ready. They wanted to fly to the lake then walk around it from the ground to see if there were any secret entrances.

Percy also called a ride pokemon. His was your usual Charizard. He greeted it affectionately and jumped onto it "Ready when you are." as soon as Sam took off Percy signaled for Charizard to follow them. With ride pokemon it shouldn't take that long for them to reach the lake. Percy took a breath of the fresh air and ran a hand through his hair. Flying always felt freeing and it was a nice experience every time. Percy rarely got out of town due to his duties as a gym leader.

Sam had let Flare out of her Pokeball so she could fly alongside them and keep an eye out for any danger. The flight wasn't very long but Sam was still sore from flying all night to get here so getting back in the seat was not the most comfortable thing in the world, but they still pressed on determined to put an end to Team Infinite. After about 10 minutes of flying the shores of the lake were in view and Sam signaled for Percy to land as they directed Dragonite to land as well.

Cheri had fallen asleep on his shoulder, finding the flight boring, and was stirred when they landed. Percy slid off of Charizard and thanked him for the ride. He then turned to Sam "Let's start along this side and make our way back around." he suggested. That way they wouldn't miss anything and could take time looking for any hidden bases.

Sam nodded and let Percy take the lead, he knew the area better than Sam did after all. As they walked, Sam kept their eyes peeled for anything manmade or out of place along the lake shore. Flare was flying over the surface of the lake, only a few feet above the still waters. "So," Sam looked over at Percy as they walked. "Any good gym challengers lately?"

Percy sighed and frowned "Not really, there has been a lack in challengers lately... I'm sure it'll speed up when the new trainers get up to my level." there was a specific time of year where a lot of trainers started and it wasn't too long ago so it made sense they hadn't reached him yet. He wandered a bit from the path to check out a large pile of boulders only to find nothing there. Percy returned to walk on the main path and scanned the area. Maybe they needed more eyes. He chose a Pokeball and called out Zero "Help us look for anything suspicious." Zero nodded and trotted off to do some looking.

Sam sighed in disappointment at hearing that. "That means I have to wait forever for a challenger," they sighed and shook their head. "You know.... sometimes I wish I could just, start over and go through my journey again. I just love seeing new trainers going through their journey and it makes me wish I could do it all over again."

Percy nodded "I have to agree. When you're on your journey you don't have to worry about much and every day is fun. Now I have to worry about taxes, and buying my own food." he laughed and continued to look around "As for someone challenging you, I think you'll get one sooner or later. I bet there are some higher level trainers wandering around as well."

"Do NOT get me started on taxes," Sam groaned and shook their head. "But I hope you're right, Wrex gets too aggressive when he doesn't have a good challenge often." They glanced across the lake to see Flare still flying ahead of them. They frowned a little, something about the lake seemed.... off? Sam stopped walking as they stared scrutinizingly at the lake. "Is that.....?" Their eyes widdened and they suddenly shouted. "Flare!"
A dark shadow had been steadily getting bigger underneath Flare as she flew over the lake. A giant blue horn rose out of the water just behind her and right as Sam yelled the giant head of a Gyarados lunged out of the water and right for the Fire bird Pokemon.

Yesss it was really fun! I can't believe the critics were so butt hurt about it.)
"Zero, use thunderbolt!" Zero reared up and sent a bolt of electricity crackling towards the Gyrados. It didn't hit it from so far away, but it would force it to change it's course. Some water from the jumping pokemon sprinkled them at the side of the lake. It was a huge pokemon. Zero ran to his side.

Flare just barely managed to escape the crunching jaws of the giant Gyarados and fly up out of danger. As she flew up four more Gyrados emerged from the water and started to shoot Hydro Pumps up towards her.
"Spark!" Sam quickly let their Vikavolt out of her Pokeball. "Zap Cannon!" They wanted to get the attention away from Flare so she could get away. The green orb of electricity shot towards the group of Gyarados and burst into the water between them, distracting them for a moment.

Yessss it was more of a Romcom than a super hero movie and I thought it was FANTASTIC) In other news, I have to write a long essay and I haven't even started it... it's due tomorrow. Whoops.)
"Those Gyrados again." Percy hissed, looking at them with some contempt "I thought they had finally chilled." he gestured with his hand for Zero to provide Spark and Flare with support. Zero nodded and galloped towards the waters end, sending out bolt of electricity to draw the attention away from the fire bird above.

(My mom had seen it the night before and like the next day she asked if I wanted to go see it with her again. lol
Don't mention homework........ i'm skipping class right now.......... and i haven't started any of the homework i've had like 2 weeks to do......)
"They cause you problems?" Sam glanced at Percy as Spark shot another Zap Cannon at the Gyarados, allowing Flare to maneuver between the vicious Pokemon and fly across the water towards Sam and Percy safely. The Gyarados roared angrily and turned their attention to the trainers on the shore. A couple looked like they were gathering the energy to fire off a few Hyper Beams at them.
"Uh I think we should move," Sam put a hand on Percy's shoulder and started to urge him to run for the cluster of rocks a few feet away that they could take cover behind.

I know the feeling. I have like four tabs open with the research and I'm just casually watching Youtube while my deadline looms dangerously in the background.) I think this probably plays into why my English Professor dislikes me haha)
Percy jumped behind the boulders and nodded "Yeah, they're like a gang around these parts. I don't want to completely get rid of them as they manage the other Pokemon in the lake, but if they keep this up I won't have a choice." he glanced over the boulders to see Zero dodge a Hyperbeam and retaliate with a Thunderbolt. His Pokemon also knew of this and weren't trying to fry the water Pokemon. Instead just calm them down and force them back under the water.

(I swear i need to talk to my doctor about the potential of me having ADHD bc i seriously can't focus on anything i'm not like... super into? I think it's called Hyperfocus? Plus both my siblings have ADHD so i think it's likely i have it too and just..... i can't even focus on my homework like ever....... and just. Idk)
"Have you tried taming them?" Sam asked, ducking their head as a Hyper Beam slammed into the rocks, causing them to shake and send up dust. They weren't worried about their Pokemon much as they handled situations like this often. "How long have they been acting like this?"

That's a big mood honestly. I'd fear asking a doctor, personally, as I'm known for being the most stable child in my family haha) I have the worst problem when it comes to procrastination. Like, if I procrastinate to the last minute I'll get a rush of fear and adrenaline which is enough for me to get it done??)
"It's only been like this recently." Percy replied, covering the back of his head and neck protectively with his hands "I think something must have set them off. I tried to tame them a while back and got a nasty injury from it." if they weren't being assaulted with moves right now he'd show off the scar. He knew he should have taken more time to look into it and was now paying for it. His attention span was short though and he was easily distracted.

(Yeah Big mood. I mean i'm 23 so my parents don't actually have to know anything about it lol. I'm just afraid my doctor will think it's me trying to get drugs or something bc I guess that's a thing????? idk but yeah that procrastination is so bad.... especially when paired with my anxiety so i just end up vibrating with anxious energy and staring at my computer doing nothing......)
"We can't risk anyone else getting hurt from them then," Sam winced as rubble rained down on them. "We need to figure out what set them off..... but we can't do that with them this angry...." They really didn't want to actually fight these Pokemon if they were in trouble, but Sam didn't know what else would get them to calm down long enough for the two trainers to get away and figure out how to help.

"We could split up? One of us distract them while the other looks around. I can use my electric pokemon if you want to go around to the back of the lake and take a look." he explained to them that there was a river that fed into the lake and that's where a lot of pokemon would hang about. Perhaps something had happened there. There was a crash and Percy looked over the boulders, worried. It looked like Zero had dodged another attack but the attack had torn down some trees. Whatever they were going to do they had to hurry.

Sam nodded and glanced back to see how their Pokemon were doing, Spark was still firing off Zap Cannons and Flare was drawing the Pokemon's fire to keep the two electric type Pokemon focused on attacking for the moment. "I'll leave Spark with you," They whistled and Flare flew over to them. "Be careful, call me if they get too aggressive okay?"

"You be careful to. I'm not sure the other would forgive me if I let our Champion bite the dust." Percy saluted Sam and vaulted over the boulders. He tossed two more Pokeballs into the air and out burst Azula and Feedback "Alright guys, time to distract these beasts." he gestured for Zero to run over to him and in one smooth movement jumped onto the pokemons back. He'd practiced that after trying it once before and nearly breaking his arm. This way he could draw the Gyrados' attention while also not getting fried by a Hyperbeam.

"Take more than a Gyarados to take me out," Sam snorted but paused. "Five of them might do it though...." They shook their head and grinned mischeviously before darting out the other way after Percy had distracted the group of Atrocious Pokemon so they could make their way around the lake. "It's a good thing we work out regularly," Sam laughed breathlessly as they ran with Flare along the shore. It took them a while to get around the Giant Lake and to the river mouth. They paused there for a moment to catch their breath and they looked across the Lake to see if they could see Percy and the Gyarados.
