Thats cool! art is always fun to do! Its easier when I have time and am hanging with my friends who also do art!
I'm doing good, school is killing me but I mean its killing everyone these days and Calc is the only of my 3 classes thats really giving me trouble, the other two are surprisingly interesting and i'm unterstanding.
I'm happy I've been making more clay sculptures lately. I found this Youtuber that makes them with air dry clay and his are so much ebtter than mine but I mean he's been doing it for a long time lol. But watching him has really helped me undertand a lot of things and allowed me to figure out how to do the more complicated shapes and stuff.
Currently i'm working on a shiny Snivy and a Zenith Marshadow. The latter is an early christmas gift for my gf bc she really likes Marshadow. I'm quite proud of both of them, just have to finish painting snivy while i'm still building up Marshadow's headdress thing and I have to paint it.

Interesting, I hope you'll post those when you're done with them! The most impressive thing is that you can make it look right. Like, just drawing something 2D is easy but when you have to make an actual 3D things it has to look good from all sides haha)

But yeah clay is so hard, I haven't done so many of the starters yet bc I have no idea how I'm gonna do them, especially Totodile..... His head shape and all the pointy bits on him look impossible to do....

Its hard bc its really easy to press too hard and ruin what you've already made. Like so many times have I ruind a head bc I was trying to add details on the front and accidentally flattened teh whole thing bc I was pressing too hard. You have to do it bit by bit, like start with the basic shapes and build up on them. For example with Torchic, first I made the round head shape and added the beak and I made the body shape seperately and I baked them so they hardened, then I added the feathers on teh top of Torhic's head except the giant yellow ones which I made seperately so i could paint them all without ruining them and making hte paint job look even and I just kept building till i had the whole thing. Same with Oshawott, made allt he pieces seperately and painted them before gluing them together. Some shapes are so hard to do, like Torchic's feet... ugh i crazy glued them together bc I just couldn't get the shape in one solid piece of clay. each foot is like 5 different pieces. And sometimes the thing you are making can't stand up on it's own so you have to put a wire in them like Chikorita's leaf had a wire running through the stem that I built the leaf around so it can be solid on its own.
Also sometimes using Aluminum foil as a base to build around is good too? It helps it bake more evenly and lets you use less clay I guess. I had to use it to help me build Squirtle's shell and Chikorita's body and I think Cyndaquill's body too. I kept smushing them otherwise.

Aww thanks. I just really like doing things with my hands and making things and its hard for me to come up with super original ideas so I was like "How about I make Pokemon figures!" bc I really love Pokemon (obviously) and I can find the 3D models pretty easily with the 3D games and Pokemon Go

lol yeah more than I thought too. Painting them can be kinda hard too. Especially the snivy I'm making bc it made more sense to make him completely before painting but the stance I have him in makes it hard to reach with my paintbrushes in some places so its hard to keep my lines straight and from crossing into the wrong area... also I'm terrible at painting and mixing paints. I alway make way too much of one color for no reason. but thats why i got the cheap acryllic paints lol

I love drawing digitally. Ctrl Z is the best invention ever as are layers. the only reason I have the patience to paint is bc all my figures are less than 3 inches tall lol. they are so small it doesn't take long and I can take breaks if I get too bored.

Blaze stared over at Chasin as he walked into the gym with his friends, a small part of him wanting to wipe that smile off of the gym leader's face, but he'd knew he would get his chance soon enough to re-challenge Chasin. For now, he had to settle for watching Peter attempt to break into the Pokemon Gym system and obtain her first gym badge. Hopefully, she finds a weakness I can exploit without Chasin knowing about it.

Claudia looked at the gym leader nervously feeling relieved once again that it wasn't her that was challenging the leader she remembered her first gym battle with Q years ago and remembered how nervous she was and felt for Peter but knew that Peter would do well. or at least better than she had done her first time. Claudia gently stroked Q's skull helmet as she held her.

Okay I feel much better today. Sorry for not replying earlier today, I was trying to get caught up on math homework bleh) (Drawing is fun! I always have issues figuring out what to draw tho. Grew up basically only drawing Warrior Cats and lately i've only drawn Pokemon lol. How do you figure out what to draw Rain? And Spark? Since both of you draw too!) Peter took a deep breath as she looked at Chasin before stepping forward in front of her friends. "I would like to challenge the gym!" She told him with her bravest voice and facial expression. She was clutching the strap to her messenger bag tightly which gave away her nerves. But Chasin didn't seem mean or too scary so she wasn't worried about feeling unsafe. "Hmmmm," Skip frowned and glanced at Clove. "What do you want for dinner?" He asked his Bayleaf, who just flipped his leaf around in response. "Yeah something easy sounds good. You guys up for some chili? I won't make it spicy if you don't like that." Putting everything in a pot and letting it cook sounded good for the first night with a lot of people to him. (Jeez tryign to figure out what kinds of meals trainers eat is a nightmare bc looking up food in Pokemon is only links about theories about if trainers eat Pokemon. I JUST WANT SOME FOOD IDEAS  ) |

Chasin nodded "Come in then, we can begin our battle!" he led the trainers into the battle field, directing everyone but Peter into the stands. The field was rocky with large boulder spread over it. It was a great place for rock type pokemon to battle. There was another trainer there to be their referee. "The battle between Gym Leader Chasin and challenger Peter will now begin. Both trainers will have the use of two pokemon and only the challenger will be permitted to substitute pokemon." Chasin stood at one end of the field "Are you ready?" he asked, pulling off a pokeball from his belt.
"That sounds delicious." Cecil replied, poking at the fire experimentally as it crackled cheerily in front of him. Deciding that it was good enough he walked over to his bag and pulled out an egg. Cecil usually kept it in his bag for safety and only took it out to make sure it was doing ok and to check if it was any closer to hatching.

(lol yeah I used to do that a long time ago but I'd also be like "nahhh i don't wanna draw that" for most of the requests. Lol I finisheed all my classes for the week! xD)
Peter stood in the trainer box, feeling that sense of lonliness she had felt when she had trained with Akai the day before. She pulled out her Pokeball's and held them both for a moment before deciding which Pokemon to use. She looked up at Chasin and nodded. "I'm ready!" She called.
Skip let the rest of his Pokemon out of their Pokeballs and took his collapsable cooking pot out of his bag. "Clove can you make sure the other two don't wander off too far?" He asked his partner as Flutter and Basil started to explore around the clearing. He caught a glance of Cecil's egg. "Whoa you have a Pokemon Egg??" He asked with his normal enthusiasm.

I mostly draw cats! I’ve been drawing them since I was little and I’m finally decent! But I can draw Pokémon and I’m trying to draw more humanoid characters, esp splatoon type characters! I need to probably draw less cats bc it’s kinda the only thing I can draw rn lmao. I do the same thing with requests tho, I ask my friends what to draw and I say no like 99% of the time haha)
Helios watched Cecil carefully as he poked at the fire, probably watching to make sure his nice fire didn’t go out by accident. Helios sat next to the trainer and continued to watch the fire, occasionally glancing around to check on Quinn and to look at Cecil’s egg. “Ah! Chili would be awesome, and I like spicy food! I don’t know about Cecil but I wouldn’t mind if you made it a little hotter!” At the comment on the egg Quinn turned around and without missing a beat from her previous statement exclaimed: “Whoa! That’s neat! What’s it gonna be, do you know?”
(Does the egg look like the ones in the anime that resemble the Pokémon or the ones in the games that just have green spots?)

I think it’s more fun if the egg resembles what the Pokémon looks like!)
Chasin nodded and as soon as the referee called for the battle to begin he tossed the pokeball into the air. It spun a few times before it opened. In a flash of red appeared an Omanyte. It looked ready for a battle and looked strong even though it was still at a low level. Chasin may have lower leveled Pokémon for his challengers, but that didn’t mean they would be easy to take out. Each one had been trained by himself after all. And he was a master of rock types.
“I’m not sure what it’s going to hatch into. I got it a while back but it still has yet to hatch. From what I can tell it’s close to hatching.” he shrugged and looked at the egg carefully. It was a pleasant pink color with whitish stars across the shell. On rare occasions it would move so Cecil assumed it was getting closer to hatching.

I've been trying to draw more human shapes as well with some of my OCs but human body shapes are so hard to draw. like.... head? eyes??? NOSE????? mouth? how do lips work???? earssss???? HANDS???? HAIR???? FFFFEEEEETTTT???????? I have no idea how any of that works together or anything. And then theres my friend who draws people all day every day and can whip out a new OC ever 2 min it feels like. But i mean she's been drawing humanoids for as long as I've been drawing cats so it makes sense. It also doesn't help that i'm so lazy when it comes to drawing. Longest i've spent on a drawing was 3 days and that was back in high school like freshman year. Now i barely have the patience for a drawing that takes longer than 10 min xD) |
