Cecil nodded "Fire types are powerful, that's for sure." fire types had always been favorites in competitive battling, from what he had seen at least. "I chose Soleil mostly because I thought he would help with berries and herbs. He can use water attacks which can water plants and stuff. I'm glad I chose him though, he really is a great pokemon. His personality is fun and he's always willing to help out."

Klover smiled and said," technically my starter is partner Shrub, but if you are asking about first pokemon then that was Angel here." Klover then pointed to his Angel who waved at them. " My family are kind of obsessed with Buneary so before I left to get my Turtig they gave me angel" he said he chuckled from thinking about his family. Klover then leaned back and said," as for why I choose Shrub well that was because I always liked Turtwigs."

Skip smiled as he listened to all the reasons the others chose their starters. He glanced down at Clove who was walking next to him. "I chose Clove... well more like Clove chose me right after my parents let me go and see all the Pokemon in Professor Sequoia's lab when I was younger. He really likes to help others, even after he had pretty much just hatched, and he became my friend when I was kind of lonely." He put his hand on top of his partner's head and rubbed right behind the stem of the leaf sticking out of the top of the Bayleaf's head. "He just really helped me through a lot so it was pretty much a no brainer when I left on my journey." He looked over to Aurora, who was the last to share her story about her starter Pokemon.
Peter hummed in aknowledgement as she looked at the storefronts as they walked past. Nothing was really jumping out at her as interesting as it was mostly a Cargo town from the port and not so much a Vacation destination.
"Excuse me mister," A young boy ran up to Akai and Peter and tugged at the hem of his shirt. "There's something you need to know!"
Peter paused and looked at the kid curiously.

Claudia smiled at Blaze and nodded towards Q. "Well I hope you the best with him, and I am no expert but if you need advice or want to look at my notes just let me know. " Claudia said before looking down at Q a moment. Q was looking up at the two trainers with curiosity. "When I first tried pokemon battles with Q here I used to think that she was just being stubborn rather than just not liking to battle. It wasn't until after I failed at challenging a gym that I realized she didn't like battling." Claudia said gently petting her pokemon's head Blaze nodded, taking note of Claudia's experience. "Thanks," he said with a smile. He turned his attention toward Peter and Akai, but they were off talking near the couches. He smiled down at Claudia's pokemon, wondering how he could determine what was going on with him and Treecko. He didn't think the problem was Treecko not wanting to battle because he definitely went head-first in battle against Akai and his Turtwig. |

Akai was about to suggest they take a left turn when a child ran up to them. He tilted his head to the side and knelt down so he was eye level with the child ""What's up?" he asked, wondering what the kid wanted. Dartrix landed by him noticing that his trainer had stopped walking and Luxio trailed after them.

(Hey spark, ready for something creepy? xD)
The little boy looked at Akai with wide eyes and opened his mouth to speak. "There is darkness in your future," He said in a monotone voice. He gripped Akai's wrist with an unnaturally strong grip and put something in his hand. "This-" He closed Akai's fingers over the item, "-will save you." And with that he ran off, practically disappearing.
Peter looked very concerned and freaked out. "Ooooookay....." She said slowly and glanced around. "Uh.... hey Akai.... Where are we?" They were definitely not in the same part of the city they had just been in. This area was really run down and decrepit and pretty much barren of people except for the two trainers and their pokemon.

"Eh? Eh?! Wait! What does that mean?" Akai looked to Peter, a confused and maybe a little bit of a panicked look on his face. A chill ran down his back and he slowly stood, looking around them. The sudden quiet was unsettling, and he lack of people was even more so. "Where exactly are we? I have no idea." he asked, looking back to Peter and his Pokémon who had gathered around the two. This... had not happened last time he was here.

Claudia had just glanced over at Peter and Akai when she noticed that they were gone. She sighed "Want to go find Peter and Akai?" she asked Blaze thinking they had just left the pokemon center to explore the city. As Claudia spoke she let Cin out knowing she gets grumpy when in her ball too long. Claudia also hoped Cin could help to sniff them out with her long nose.

"Okay.. uh..." Peter frowned and looked around for anything familiar. "Well it looks like we are still in GraniteCape from the... buildings?" She was trying to stay calm and not panic. "I still have no idea what happened.... Uh." She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she looked around. "What did that... kid?? even give you?"

Akai took a breath and opened his hand. Inside his hand was a key. How unusual... "It looks like a key." Akai held his hand out so Peter could see it. "I wonder what he meant when he said it would save me? Or that there was darkness is my future?" it sounded morbid and dangerous. Almost like a bad omen. And the more he thought about it the more it started to sound like a bad omen. Maybe he should consider seeing a priest. He snorted at his own thoughts and looked around again "Do you want to walk around and see where we are?"

Peter looked at the key with a frown and glanced towards where the kid had disappeared. "Maybe kids are just weird?" She weakly suggested. She hoped it wasn't actually true and that something bad was going to happen to Akai. "Yeah.... let's walk around." Maybe finding their way out of this place would help ge the ominous and haunted feeling off of Peter's back. As they walked she may have been walking closer to Akai than before, just for safety.

Akai nodded. The more they walked the more Akai realized just how empty the area was. Finally he looked to Dartrix and said "Fly up and see what is around here. Stay close though. We don't need to get more lost than we already are." Dartrix nodded and flapped his wings, lifting into the air. He leveled out and looked around the area.

The two trainers weren't that far from where they had first met the boy, just a couple blocks over actually. Somehow they had ended up off the main road that most tourists visited and over in the run down warehouse section of the city.
Peter looked around as they waited for Dartrix to figure out where they were. She thought she saw movement in one of the alleyways and peered closer. It looked like the boy but... not. Something was wrong with how he looked but she couldn't figure out what. Suddenly the boy turned and met her gaze. She instantly turned pale and yelped as if she had been shocked. "We need to leave." She grabbed Akai's free hand and started pulling him down the street.
The boy disappeared in a purple gas and all that was left in the alley was a sinister looking shadow that watched them head down the road, fortunately back towards the main road.

"Wait, what's wrong?" Akai asked. He let himself get dragged away and towards the road Dartrix had started to circle. The trainer quickened his pace and matched Peters stride. "What did you see?" Peter looked a bit pale, and the place was certainly creepy... maybe she had seen a ghost pokemon or something else that had thrown her off. Another chill ran down his back and he was suddenly just as eager to get back to the road and main town as Peter was. They reached the road and Dartrix glided down towards them. Luxio had been padding after them slowly, keeping her eyes on the buildings around them so they wouldn't have gotten taken by surprise.

Peter didn't respond and didn't stop or look back till they reached the main street. She finally stopped and let herself take a breath, not wanting to mentally process what she had just seen. It took her a couple moments to realize she was still gripping Akai's hand and she quickly let go, feeling embarassed for freaking out like that. "I-I just got spooked is all." She shrugged and looked around, color returning to her cheeks. "Let's just... I don't know pretend that never happened?" She suggested as Holiday landed on her head and Turtwig, who had surprisingly kept up well as they ran, stood at her feet.

Akai didn't press her further. Instead he just agreed and hustles back to the main town. It took him until they got back to stop feeling chilled. He shook his head and rubbed at his arms "That was weird... I wonder if we should tell someone?" normally he wouldn't, but this had been such a strange occurrence he thought it might be better to. Akai had slipped the key into his pocket. Even if the kid was just being weird he'd rather be safe than sorry.

"Who would we tell?" Peter asked him. "Its not like we can go to Officer Jenny and say a creepy kid gave you a key. That isn't against the law or anything." She sighed and shook her head. Hey eye caught something. "I say we go and get some Ice Cream." She pointed to the Ice Cream Parlor across the street, it had quite a few people milling about it and Peter honestly wanted to immerse herself in people for a second. She didn't mind the quiet and actually preferred to be alone (with friends) but after that experience she needed other people around.

Claudia knelt down to her pokemon "Cin remember the other two we were with earlier. Can you find them?" Claudia asked the little pokemon within moments Cin was moving out and along the path, Peter and Aki took at a quick pace. Claudia ran after her scarcely looking back to see if Blaze was following "Wait Cin wait up not that fast!" she called out as Cin raced. Buildings passed, and Claudia kept her eyes glued to Cin as she ran worried if she took her eyes off that she would lose her. At one point Cin froze and looked around confused before smelling the air giving Claudia a moment to take a breath before taking off again. The two rounded a sharp corner and Cin crashed into Peter while Claudia jumped over turtwig and fell in front of Akai with a gasp

"Sure we can go-" his sentence was literally cut off as Claudia made a spectacular dodge then continued to fall in front of him "Oh! Claudia, are you alright?" he laughed lightly at her antics and offered her a hand "We were about to get some ice cream, want to come with?" Akai was glad to see a familiar face. He would much rather be around others after that experience.

Peter yelped as Cin crashed into her shin and she jumped back in shock. She blinked as Claudia fell infront of them and was stunned for a moment before she started laughing. It was a relief to see a friendly face and even better that the way they met back up was comical. "I'm sorry," She apologized for laughing like that and went to help Claudia up. "Are you okay?" She asked.

"That's a great reason to choose a Starter," Skip told Aurora with a smile, he glanced down at Sparkie. "He really is cute and seems to really care for you. So that's a good reason to pick your starter." He glanced around, figuring that everyone had shared their starter story. "Okay next question," He thought for a moment. "What is your favorite food?" he grinned, excited to hear their answers as he really enjoyed cooking. "My favorite food is Teriyaki Stir Fry with a bunch of vegetables and some spicy Berries." He was practically salivating at the thought.

Claudia lay there stunned a moment clutching Q to her chest as she recovered she looked up at the amused faces of her friends and accepted the helping hands up wincing as she realizes she skinned her arm in her fall " Hey where have you guys been?" Claudia asked gently whipping off her arms and legs. Cin shook her head stunned after crashing so hard into Peter. Q walked over to Cin and gently pat her on the head
