"Great! Let's hurry this up," Drake responded back, the trainers were starting to fight the grunts to get their Pokemon back. He had both Elle D and Murph out fighting them off along with all the grunt's Pokemon. But they were winning, pushing back all the Pokemon and trainers so they could grab the nets of weakened Pokemon.
"Flare!" Sam called loudedly, the Talonflame was hovering right over their shoulder, flapping her powerful wings and sending embers floating to the ground. Her wingbeats stirred the fog enough to clear part of the clearing, revealing Sam standing there in their gray sweatshirt but recognizable all the same. "Use Steel Wing." They commanded.
"Hey boss.... we got a problem...." Drake cursed. He was prepared for his Pokemon to get blown back by the Champion's Talonflame, one of their strongest Pokemon.
"Talooooooon!" Flare called as she powered up, flapping her wings to rise in the air a bit before diving down and speeding close to the ground, wings shining as they turned hard as steel. She didn't even go near the Team Infinite Grunts or their Pokemon. Instead she flew by all the nets, wings tearing them open like paper and setting all the Pokemon free.

(I think that perhaps he should learn Sand Attack during/after the gym battle, so that it's not like "Oh she did a ton of battling off-screen". I don't want people to go "Wait, how did that happen?" and whatnot, if you get my drift.) sounds good!!) |

Lacy, hearing what was happening, gritted her teeth and said "Pull out. Use smokescreen and collect what pokemon you can. We got what we came for." boss wouldn't be happy they lost the pokemon, but that was mostly a distraction. The key was their main objective. She walked out of the gym and whistled, waiting for her ride pokemon to come to her.

Blaze smiled at both Peter and Akai. "Yeah that would be great! I'd love to travel with you guys," he said, happy to travel with others for once. Mostly, him and Shadow were by themselves, but Blaze would always welcome good company. He glanced down at Shadow who stared at Akai. The Houndour hopped backwards when Peter moved down to his level and tried talking to him. He glared at girl, not wanting anything to do with her. "Sorry about that," Blaze said looking over at Peter. "He's just stubborn and arrogant." Peter wasn't affected by Shadow's attitude towards her. "It's alright! He's really protective of you isn't he?" She started to stand back up but overestimated how much energy her body had after the encounter with the Sandygast and lost her balance and started to fall back towards the sand. |

Akai moved to steady her, hand on her shoulder "I know how you feel." he said under his breath, tired as well "I'll help you back to town." he offered, making sure she wasn't going to fall again.

Blaze nodded, in acknowledgement toward Peter's question. "Yes, but it has its positives as well, so I'm okay with it," he mentioned. He was okay with his Pokemon's attitude, but he also wanted him to open up a little more. Blaze stepped forward to help Akai, but hesitated because he wasn't sure they need another person helping Peter.
"If you guys lead the way, I'll follow, if that's cool," Blaze said with a smile and a look down at Shadow, who ignored most of the conversation.

"You heard the boss!" Drake called to the others. "Pull out! Grab what you can!" He recalled hit two Pokemon and pushed back into the group of grunts, making his way back to the clearing with the ride Pokemon. The festival clearing filled with smoke as a bunch of grunts ordered their Pokemon to used Smokescreen or threw smoke balls, creating a wall for them to disappear back into.
Sam made to follow after the Team Infinite grunts but the sound of a Charizard calling and flying towards the Gym. THe Charizard had the Team Infinite Symbol on it's ride saddle and Sam couldn't help but follow it instead, calling Flare to follow them. "Hey!" They called when they saw Lacy in front of the gym. "Who are you?"

Lacy recognized the Champion. Taking a chance she jumped onto her ride pokemon and urged them into the air. If they could just get out of range before the Champion let off an attack they'd be home free. There were many people in the air now, Team Infinite retreating back and away from the cloud of smoke.

"Thanks," Peter smiled tiredly at Akai, she wanted to apologize for causing so much trouble but she was too tired to. She told herself she would apologize and thank him and Blaze tomorrow. "You two did great." She told her Pokemon before recalling them back into their Pokeballs to give them a good rest. She couldn't wait to get to GraniteCape to take a shower and wash her wet, sandy clothes and to get a good night's rest. "Well I'm ready to go when you are." she told the two boys.

"Spark!" Sam called as they threw out another Pokeball, this time their Vikavolt emerged from the Pokeball. "Use Thunderbolt!" They pointed up at the Charizard that Lacy was on. "Don't let her get away!"
Spark quickly flew up closer to the retreating charizard and charged electricity in her abdomen before shooting it of with immense speed towards the Ride Pokemon.
"Commander!" Drake called from his ride Pokemon at the head of the group. He was glad he wasn't her with the Champion on her tail.

Lacy could tell that the attack would hit. In the split second before the attack hit she called "Drake!" and she tossed him the small box she had put the key in. As soon as the box left her hand the bolt hit and her pokemon was knocked down in a single hit. As she fell she ordered the Charizard to use smokescreen, hopefully covering her team mates escape. They went careening down into the trees. Branches caught at her, tearing skin and clothes. The final impact was a nasty one. Hissing in pain she tried to stand. A lance of pain ran through her ankle and she fell back. All she could do now was hope that Drake got away.
Akai nodded and started the short trek back to the city. "I'm so excited to sit down." he said, filling the silence with idle chat "That and I could go for a drink of water. I got at least three mouth fulls of sand through that entire thing."

Drake caught the box and quickly shoved it into his bag. He had his Ride Pokemon hover for a second, wondering if he should try and help the Commander or escape as quick as he could with the super special item the Boss wanted. He quickly figured that facing the wrath of the Champion wasn't worth the effort and instead flew away as quickly as he could, disappearing into the horizon as quickly as the other grunts did.
Sam followed as Spark lead the way to where Lacy and the Charizard had fallen into the forest. The Champion's Vikavolt hovered in place in front of Lacy as she waited for Sam and Flare to catch up, making sure she wouldn't try to escape again.
"Hand over your Pokemon," Sam spoke when they caught up, not even looking out of breath after sprinting through the forest. "Unless you want to fight." They held out their hand for the Team Infinite Commander to hand over her Pokeballs.
Peter gave a tired laugh before giving out a short cough. "Yeah I feel that. I have sand.... everywhere!" She joked as they made their way back to the road and made the last leg of their journey towards GraniteCape.

Lacy looked up at them with a condescending smirk. In the time it had taken him to find her she had dragged herself over to the charizard. It was fine, no broken bones. If she could heal it up she'd have a way out. As they entered the small clearing she was in Lacy leaned against the Charizard, keeping her injured leg out so it wouldn't bump against her other leg. She spat to the side, a bit of blood spattering against the ground "I don't think I want to do either, honestly." she only had her Aegislash on her at the moment, but the thought of giving it to the Champion was enough to make her mouth taste bad. There was no way she was getting out of here, or winning a fight, the least she could do was annoy them.
Akai agreed. Soon the town was in sight. He sighed with relief and moved a bit faster. Thankfully the pokemon center was close to the entrance. They entered, all looking pretty beat up and covered in sand. Akai hadn't even called back his pokemon yet. They moved along side them, making sure nothing else would jump at them.

Blaze trailed behind him, dusting off sand along the way, as he noticed he also was somewhat drenched in it. Wow, if mom seen me now, I can't even imagine what she would say. He laughed quietly at the thought before watching GraniteCape come into view. Shadow walked alongside of Blaze, similar to Akai's pokemon, but he continuously would look from side to side and also behind them to make sure nothing was of threat.

Sam could understand her not wanting to give up her Pokemon, but since Officer Jenny was on her way to arrest Lacy anyways she was going to lose her Pokemon till they got this whole thing sorted out. "You're part of Team Infinite," They narrowed their eyes. "What did you want with the Lushsong Gym?" They demanded. The sounds of footsteps could be heard as Officer Jenny made her way through the forest towards them.
Peter sighed with relief when the city came into view. "Well this has been quite the day...." She laughed softly as they entered the city seated on the cape. High cliffs held it far above the sea but gave it the sunshine and nice breeze that the ocean offered. SHe was quite happy to see the comforting red roof of the Pokemon Center.

"Hmmm, wouldn't you like to know." she ran a hand through her hair and smirked at them "Too bad I won't tell you." there was no way she would say anything. Lacy was loyal and nothing would change that.
Once inside Nurse Joy fussed over them for a while before taking their pokemon to get healed up. Akai flopped onto a chair and leaned back, eyes closed "I'm so glad we made it."

"What is Team Infinite up to? Who is your leader?" Sam pressed as Jenny got closer, shining a flashlight into the trees so she wouldn't misstep and trip. "Because I seriously doubt it's you." They huffed as they took her in, injuries and all.
"What is going on over here!" Officer Jenny demanded when she finally reached the clearing. She paused when she recognized Sam. "Champion! So you're the one that set all the Pokemon free!"
"Evening Officer Jenny," Sam nodded to her with a smile. "I was just making sure this member of Team Infinite here didn't think of running. I saw her coming out of the Lushsong Gym during the attack and stopped her from escaping."
Jenny nodded and turned a cold eye to Lacy. "Your outfit is different than the others, are you one of the so-called Commanders?" She asked as she pulled out a pair of handcuffs.
"Yeah," Peter nodded as she sat next to Akai, she was going to wait to make sure Turtwig and Holiday were all safe and healthy before taking care of herself. "So what should we do tomorrow? Training? If I"m going to challenge the gym I'd like a few pointers of course."

"No need for those, you think I'm gonna run on this leg?" she hissed, waving away Officer Jenny "And you better be grateful i'm not the Boss. If Boss was here you'd have lost already." Lacy snapped, glaring at Sam. Turning her gaze back to Officer Jenny she said "Yes, at least one of you here seems smart. I am one." figuring it was in her best interest to play it nice she took out two pokeballs. Returning the charizard to one she handed them both to Jenny. Making sure to let Sam know they had done nothing to convince her and it was only because she saw Jenny as intelligent.

"Uh yeah you are putting these on anyways," Jenny snorted and stepped over to Lacy and took her Pokeballs before handcuffing her hands behind her back. "Since you said... I'm the smart one." She handed the Pokeballs to Sam and then motioned for them to take care of taking Lacy back to the station. "She's all yours Champion, I'll set you up with an interrogation room when we get back."
Sam stepped towards Lacy and took a hold of her arm on her bad side so as to help her walk without hurting her ankle more. "Thank you Officer Jenny. I really appreciate your help with this investigation." They nodded to her with a smile, ignoring Lacy.

"Don't touch me." she spat, shoving away and walking on her own, though they still had her cuffs in hand. It made sense that she'd be taken to the police station, though if not she'd be in a tough spot. Not that she couldn't get out of it. Lacy still had her lock picks hidden on her person and given the time she could get out even with an injured leg... probably.

Sam rolled their eyes but didn't let go of her arm. "You lost your right to walking by yourself when you attacked the Fall Festival." Sam told her, keeping a tight grip so she couldn't pull away. "How does your group expect to gain new members if you attack an event that is sacred to this region?" They were angry at what had transpired during the Festival, seeing all the Pokemon helpless and hurt by the Team Infinite Grunts who seemed to have no regard for the health and well being of any Pokemon had really pissed Sam off. It was taking everything they had not to show their anger towards Lacy, there would be time for justice after they got to the Police Station.

She wanted to mock them for thinking those pokemon were what they were truly after. But she knew it would be dangerous to reveal part of their plan like that. Let them think they've won. She told herself.

"Can you send someone over to the Gym to make sure nothing was stolen?" Sam asked Officer Jenny. "I think she was holding something before she tried to escape." Officer Jenny nodded and turned on her radio and spoke into it for a couple moments. "And what exactly is your cause that people are just dying to be a part of?" Sam asked Lacy with sarcasm.
