I was thinking that Akai and Dartrix win, but for some reason Treecko still can't see eye to eye with Blaze and they end up losing their gym battle because Treecko doesn't cooperate with Blaze, which then ends up opening his eyes. Or do you think that's too long to wait for that to happen?)
Blaze stared up at as Dartrix grabbed a hold of Treecko, who was still attempting to hit a Pound attack, but he couldn't do anything as being held by his tail in the air was sending pain all up Treecko's spine. After a few moments, an attack from Dartrix drilled Treecko sending him crashing to the ground, unconscious.
Blaze closed his eyes as he let out a sigh of many emotions that consisted of frustration, disappointment, and sadness. He slowly walked over to Treecko with his pokeball, noticing the grass-type didn't even bothering to glance up at its trainer. "Treecko, I know you don't like me, I know you don't like being attached to someone else, but if you don't cooperate with me then you will never get stronger," Blaze muttered as he bent down to talk to his Pokemon. Yet, Treecko wanted nothing to do with his trainer as he still blatantly ignored Blaze.

Nah, I think that can work. Having a devastating loss or two does great to open ones eyes.) Plus since I RP the gym leader we can do it today even, or later. Whatever works for you.)
Akai sighed and walked over to where his Dartrix had landed. He patted the pokemon on the head fondly and said "Great battle, you did wonderfully." Dartix cooed and rubbed against his trainers hand. Akai walked over to Blaze and offered him an apologetic smile "I know that having a pokemon not follow your orders is hard, trust me on that, but if you never use him you won't grow. I'd suggest training with it more until you guys can start to work together and bond more." like he said before Banette was a lot like Blazes Treecko. It took time to gain it's trust, and it would take time for Blaze.

Peter got up and ran over to the other two when the battle finished. "Is Treeko okay?" She asked. She knew Akai and his Dartrix wouldn't hurt Blaze's Treeko too badly since this was just training but the Treeko had been acting eradically and may have strained itself. "Should we take a break before doing some more training?"

Throwing out a sigh, Blaze turned to Akai and nodded his head understanding the situation. He glanced back down at Treecko, who decided he needed to get up and take some time to himself. The grass-type walked over where Peter was sitting and sat beside the bench with his back to the battle field. In turn, Blaze watched this transpire and decided that he should at least attempt a different method, though he wasn't sure how well it would work. "Actually, go ahead, Peter. I'm going to try and sort out this mess," Blaze said, pushing himself back up and heading over the bench to sit down and watch Peter and Akai's turn to train.
Okay thanks! Should be a fun, though I don't think I'll get to it tonight. More than likely going to be tomorrow)

Akai nodded, then turned to Peter "You ready?" he asked, then turning to his pokemon he said "Take a break Dartrix, you earned it." the owl pokemon nodded and shifted to the sidelines so it could watch the next battle.

Peter nodded to Akai, nervous about having a battle even if it was just for practice. "Turtwig let's start with you." She said as she walked over to the trainer box. Holiday flew over and settled on her shoulder. "Don't worry we'll get you to practice later." Peter told the Pikipek as her Turtwig ran over to the dirt field and faced Akai.

Akai thought things over for a moment, then chose Banette. The pokemon appeared and cackled, looking excited for a battle. It had only gotten a little taste with the ghost ground type earlier and was looking forwards to battling again. "You can start." Akai called over, waiting for her to make the first move.

While sitting on the bench, Blaze turned to Treecko trying to find the right words to say. "I get that you don't like me, but you have to understand that if we can't work together than you may never get the chance to become stronger," Blaze muttered. He looked for Treecko's reaction, but the small Pokemon never gave an acknowledgement of even hearing his trainer's words.
Sighing, Blaze turned back to watch the practice battle between Peter and Akai. He had a feeling that Turtwig could have a slight advantage over Banette, but its Ghost type moves were going to unpredictable.

Peter clenched her fist when Akai picked Banette to battle. The only move that Turtwig knew that could damage the ghost type Pokemon was Absorb since normal type moves were ineffective. He opponent's Pokemon looked strong and eager for a battle. She hesitated, not sure if she wanted to risk Turtwig getting hurt, until her Pokemon looked back at her and called. He was waiting for an order.
"O-Okay... Uh... Turtwig use Withdraw!" She called and the little grass type Pokemon pulled back into it's shell in order to raise it's defense.

"Use shadow claw." Akai ordered. Banette cackled and lunged forwards it's claws becoming encased in a ghostly energy. It stopped in front of the withdrawn Turtwig and lashed out.

(Uuuuh I haven't decided yet lol)
Turtwig took the hit but didn't seem too badly damaged from the attack.
"Okay, use Absorb!" Peter called, it would be a good way for her Pokemon to regain some health after taking teh Shadow Claw.
Turtwig closed his eyes and focused on trying to absorb some of Banette's health, it was easier since the Pokemon was right infront of him.

Banette twisted away and stumbled back a few steps, a bit of it's health getting sapped. "Nice. Now Banette, use will-o-wisp." The pokemon clapped together it's hands and ghostly flames lit around it's body. The flames chased after the grass pokemon. Burning the pokemon would make things easier on Banette.

Maybe you guys could start off with a draw? That seems like a good way to end it, especially considering that may show that both are strong in their own way.)
Blaze watched with intrigue, trying to determine beforehand who could come out on top. He noticed with Banette's ghost type, any Normal moves would be ineffective against the ghost pokemon. He also realized that if Treecko had faced Banette as his opponent, then it would have been even worse since his pokemon only attempted Pound as his move.

"Turtwig get out of the way!" Peter called, not wanting her little grass type Pokemon to get burned by the fire.
Her Turtwig tried to run and keep out of the way of the flames but it looked like they were catching up to him.
Peter knew that if Turtwig got a burn then it would be harder to fight against Banette, she tried to think of a way to avoid the move.
"Wait, Turtwig!" She called as an idea hit her. "Use Tackle on Banette!" If Turtwig could make it in time then him using the normal type move would cause him to go right through the ghost type Pokemon and put Banette between him and the flames.
Turtwig was a little confused but circled around back towards his opponent regardless and went to tackle the other Pokemon, flames right on his tail.

Ok, though Banette is higher level than Turtwig right? It would almost make more sense for them to call the battle before either of them got too hurt??)
Akai realized what was happening. Knowing Banette wouldn't have time to move he called "Use sucker punch." as the Turtwig ran towards it Banette lashed out, knocking the pokemon aside. The flames hit it soon after, burning the pokemon. Banette stumbled and flinched as the burn caused damage.

"Turtwig!" Peter called with worry when she saw her pokemon get knocked back and land on his side. "Are you okay?"
Turtwig laid stunned for a moment before staggering back to his feet and shaking himself. "Tur!" He called back, showing he was still ready to fight even though he was quite weakened.
"Okay! Use Absorb again!" Peter called, though with less certainty that before. Her plan to save her pokemon from a burn had only gotten him hurt more.

Ok, if that's fine with you we can do that ^^ ) And yeah, I'm glad I gave it a move like that hahah)
Knowing that Banettes attacks wouldn't be as strong Akai called "Let's try this again. Use shadow claw." Banette shook itself and moved towards Turtwig, cackling again like it enjoyed the strain of fighting while burned. It likely though it made the battle more fun.

Good point, I think that would be a more sensible idea. Sorry, I forgot Akai is stronger than them)
Blaze's eyes widen when will-o-wisp was broken out and used on Turtwig, yet Peter quickly found a way out that didn't involve as much damage as the fire-type move would have done over time. He watched as both pokemon took a good amount of damage from each other's tactics. Wow, what fast thinking that was for Peter.

Turtwig had just sapped a little bit of health from Banette when the other came at him with Shadow Claw.
"Quick use Withdraw!" Peter called. Her Pokemon tried to withdraw and raise his attack before the hit landed but he was too slow. Turtwig cried out as it was critically damaged from the blow, even with the Banette burned. "Use absorb again!" Peter needed her Pokemon to regain some health if he was going to battle anymore.

Akai noticed that both pokemon were slowing down and unlike the last battle they were getting pretty beat up. He clapped his hands and Banette stopped, jumping back and looking back at him "Good battle! I think we might want to stop before these two get out of hand. Only if that's ok with you." he told Peter. Banette was known to... well he would easily get out of hand if he got too into battle and Akai didn't want to get to that point.

"Yeah I think that would be a good idea," Peter nodded with a relieved sigh. She bent over and rested her hands on her knees, out of breath from teh battle. Which was weird because she hadn't done anything besides call out commands and worry a lot about her Pokemon. "I guess more goes into Pokemon battling than I thought." She said breathlessly before running over to Turtwig to make sure he was alright. "You did amazing!"

Akai nodded and returned Banette to the pokeball, praising him for a good battle. He didn't look pleased but simply crossed his arms and returned without too much fuss. Akai walked over to Peter and said "You did really good! That was an interesting move with the will-o-wisp. I was just lucky Banette knew sucker punch and could react quick enough."

Peter returned Turtwig to the Pokeball when she was satisfied that he wasn't hurt too badly. She stood up and faced Akai, a little embarassed that he was praising her. "Thanks! I just didn't want Turtwig to get burned." She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and looked away a little. "You really surprised me with that Sucker Punch.... which is the point of the move I guess." She smiled a little. "Anyways should we all go and get some lunch? I'm starving!"

"Good idea. I'm sure the pokemon will be hungry after that battle as well." he waited until they were all ready then led the way back into the pokemon center. Once inside he handed off his pokemon who had battled to Nurse Joy and waited until they were all healed up and ready to go.

Blaze watched as both Peter and Akai called off the battle as both of their pokemon were gassed. He smiled and gave them a round of applause for the good battle, then he rose to his feet walking over near them. He looked back at Treecko, who was actually watching the battle, a detail Blaze missed. Blaze motioned for Treecko to follow them inside, so he could feel better plus eat some lunch. Slowly, Treecko got up from his seat and walked inside with the others, yet he still distanced himself until Blaze sent him back in the pokeball to be handed over to Nurse Joy.
"Thank you," Blaze said with a smile.

Peter left Holiday out of her Pokeball so she could stretch her wings and hang out with them as they went and gave Nurse Joy their Pokemon. She handed over Turtwig before going over to a little computer terminal off to the side and searching through it. "What kind of food were you guys interested in?" She asked Akai and Blaze as she searched through the different restaurants in the City.

"I'm good with anything." Akai replied. He had also let his pokemon out. His Luxio padded at his heels while Banette hitched a ride on her back. Dartrix glided above them, rolling lazily in the wind.
