Hey, so I have this one plot, set in the Tudor period, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I
The captain of an English navy ship has captured the crew of a Spanish navy ship, which was plotting potential landing points for the Spanish Armada. The captain of the Spanish ship escaped or was killed, but the first-mate was captured among the rest of the crew. The English captain doesn't know about the Armada and so interrogates the Spanish first-mate to find out why they are there. We go from there, a relationship can form. This doesn't have to be a romance.
I'd be the Spanish charrie, preferably, as I have a character in mind. Alternatively we could change the plot and adapt it so my charrie is a pirate.
I'd like a literate rp partner who can do at least 10 lines of roleplay.

[OMG I think we did? On the old forums maybe, because I don't think it was on here, I've checked to see whether I did the plot before. And don't worry about never replying, I do that a lot, I constantly need reminding otherwise I'll forget to reply.
If you would like to do it again I would definitely be totally happy to! Would you like to do the normal Armada plot of the pirate version? Either way, mxm is probably the best gender pairing for this, but if you want to do a different pairing, I'm fine with that too]

[Hahaha yeah same the liking thing helps me a lot XD
Okay, so mxf and the Armada version. Totally fine with me. I can start if you'd like - I'm reusing a starter from another thread where I'm doing this plot with someone else, so I hope you don't mind. I will probably lengthen it a little bit for you though]

[Also, it's the same character cos I like Alejandro. I think he looks different and he's minus the adorable little brother I think, but yeah. I'm just starting with him already on the ship, but we can always do flashbacks to the capture if you really wanna do it XD]
Darkness. A young man stirred in a dim room, eyes widening in a moment of brief panic as he tried to survey his surroundings, a little alarmed at waking up in a place he didn't recognise and with no recollection of how he had gotten there.
This man was in his early twenties, it would appear. Alejandro Barros had golden-brown skin and deep brown hair, a rich chocolate tone and slightly wavy. This and his amber-toned eyes told that he was a Spaniard. He had a defined face, with a defined jaw and cheekbones. He was average height, not particularly tall or particularly short. His build was that of someone whose body wasn't naturally disposed to building muscle like some of the muscled men in the Spanish crew, and he had clearly worked for the athletic physique he did have. Unsurprising when considering the fact that one couldn't really work on a ship and not build up some muscle, what with it being physically taxing.
Alehandro tried to get his bearings in the room, where the air was cool and musty and heavy with damp. It was dark, but the whole room seemed to be swaying gently. He was still on a boat. Below deck. He appeared to be shackled to a wall, and he became aware of an extreme pain in his side, though it did feel like it was bandaged so that he wouldn't bleed to death. So it would appear that Alejandro had been captured. But was the rest of the crew here also? It was difficult to tell in the dim lighting of the room whether or not anyone else was down here, but he was willing to bet they were here too.
He tried to struggle against the shackles but quickly saw he would have absolutely no luck with that and quickly relented. He couldn't see any way out. Escaping from a ship was not an easy thing to do, and these shackles were too strong to be broken.
But where exactly was he? He couldn't remember a thing. Who had captured him and his crew? Was his captain here too? And where was this boat?

(Sweet that works ) Gwendolyn had recently acquired some prisoners, and a few cuts herself. Of course since there were unknown men on her ship she was dressed as a man. She couldn't expose that the Captain of the Howling Wolf was in fact a woman. That would mean less fear when they saw her sails coming at their ship. At this point she was in her cabin, fixing everything from her bandages to the way she looked. Of course it wasn't unusual for men to have long hair, she just mad sure a good bit of it was hidden under the captains hat she wore. Her hair when left normally it was long and had beautiful ringlet curls to it. Her locks were bright orange in color and he eyes a pale blue. Over all she was definitely a woman in the look department, but a little bit of dirt and some good clothing choices hid that. More so in the heat of battle in the dark or just as a passing by on the street. Now, to go see her new prisoners. Sadly they had not gotten the captain, he managed to flee the fight. Coward. But at least she had gotten their first mate. Her foots steps were lighter then that of a man, just out of habit as she made her way down to where she was keeping him. Maybe she could get some answers out of him the easy way. She had to find out why hey had been where they were. Of course to start out she brought him food, not the best food but it was about s good as it was going to get on the ship. "Rise and shine, I brought some food and some questions." Gwen lowered her voice and force her voice to be a bit more man like you could say. The woman was also no about to tell him that his captain was still alive, after all that would give them hope and prevent answers. The less the Spanish crew knew the better.

Alejandro had looked up when he saw a figure enter the room. In the dim light, he couldn't tell very much about what they looked like, but he suspected - judging by what he could make out of their uniform - that they were the captain of the ship.
It wasn't until he was given the food that he realised that he was hungry. He couldn't help but wonder how long he had been here.
Judging by the captain's accent and uniform, they had been caught by the English, who despised the Spanish of late. Well, that was just excellent. He knew, then, he would have to keep his mouth shut about their mission. Not only because they were under orders but because he was highly unsure about what the consequences would be for him, and the crew, if the English found out about the Armada.
So at the captain's mention of questions, the young Spaniard just smiled slightly, looking almost amused at the whole situation. Acting confident might be the best way to unsettle the English captain and make it seem as if he had the upper hand, even though he didn't. At all.
"I mean, you can ask me your questions," Alejandro responded, his own Spanish accent coming through "But I can't guarantee that I'll answer any of them."
He would probably answer a few, sticking to answering ones that wouldn't give the game away. That would mean he was giving some information, maybe even enough to satisfy the English captian, without compromising the Armada or going against his orders.

He took the food but ate slowly, so he could still talk to the captain. Eating gave him time to think of answers to questions, anyway, so all the better.
So it was Captain Cain, was it? He had heard of the Lone Wolf, but he didn't know anything about the Captain, who was generally quite private, it would seem. He couldn't help but wonder whether Captain Cain was hiding any secrets. He felt it was almost certain.
Ah, so the Captain had chosen to start with easy questions, ones Alejandro could answer without disobeying any orders, before building up to harder ones. Okay, it was a good strategy. Alejandro would go along with it for the moment. Only until they got to questions Alejandro wouldn't want to answer.
"Correct, I am the first mate," Alejandro responded, "My name is Alejandro Barros."
Now the introductions were out of the way, they could get onto the things that Captain Cain really wanted to ask Alejandro. He doubted any of them would be questions he would be willing to answer, but he would hear the captain out nonetheless. It wasn't like he was going anyway, after all.

He answered the questions one by one, saying that he had served under his captain for a year but had been in the navy for five years, that he had chosen to sail with the Spanish for nationalistic reasons and to uphold a family tradition of serving in the Spanish navy. He had named his captain, knowing no harm could come of that. He had answered these harmless questions, but he knew the captain was planning something. This captain was going to try and throw a curveball here, and Alejandro would be ready for it.
"No," Alejandro had replied in response to the question about whether his captain was planning an attack on the port. Technically, he wasn't lying. Their mission was plotting ideal landing spots, not launching any attacks. So, technically, Alejandro had answered honestly and was in no danger of committing treason quite yet. He was still safe, which he was thankful for.
He knew the captain would likely still assume he was lying anyway, but it didn't matter. Alejandro knew he had answered honestly, and that was what was the most important thing. He would have lied if the answer had been 'yes' anyway, considering that he didn't much like the prospect of betraying his country and execution. Alejandro had his morals, and his sense of self-preservation

At first, Alejandro had shaken his head, stubbornly refusing to answer the Captain's question. To answer meant treason, even if he was lying. He couldn't reveal Spanish business to the enemy, even if he wasn't actually telling the truth. He would stay resolutely silent.
And then came the threats, in response to which Alejandro raised an eyebrow to the Captain, acting cocky but most definitely a little nervous. He didn't know how long he could play this game for. One wrong move and he could find himself on the gallows. Just for doing his job.
"Of course, you're very welcome to have me executed; I couldn't stop you if I tried. But I can assure you that it isn't in your best interests. And I'd wager you know that all too well. For a Spanish ship to be caught roaming in English waters must mean that something big is going to happen. If you have me killed, you're losing your best chance of staying one step ahead of the Spanish. I imagine you'd be in an awful lot of trouble if something happens and the English find out you could have stopped it, Captain. So by all means, hang me, but you'd be hanging yourself as well."

So he had been right; the silence that had greeted his reply had confirmed that. Well, that was good; he had been taking a little bit of a risk. He hadn't been completely certain that what he had been saying was correct. Thankfully hedging his bets was the right thing to do.
Then the captain threatened Alejandro's crew. Now, Alejandro was certainly willing to bet with his own life, but he wasn't willing to gamble with the lives of his crew. That would be irresponsible of him as a superior and it would go against all of Alejandro's morals. He was a decent man, after all.
"Of course I don't," Alejandro replied "but I don't imagine the Spanish navy would be too happy if they found out an entire crew had been killed. You would cause an outcry. And I highly doubt you'd be willing to kill an entire crew of decent, upstanding navy men - not criminals, may I remind you - for the sake of getting information from me. You'd be taking a gamble, anyway, considering that the information I have may be completely inconsequential. I might be playing you for a fool and pretending I know something big, and you'd never know, would you? No, you're better off trying another strategy. Not one that involves my crew."

[Hahaha yeah this should be fun]
Surely enough, the next morning someone came down to let Alejandro out of his cell so he could go up on deck. The man wasn't too happy about having to work for the English but if it was either that or the captain killing his crew, Alejandro would do it. And he wouldn't say that he completely hated the opportunity to get a little bit of exercise, though of course he would never say that in front of the English.
He knew he would be in for a rough ride. This captain probably wouldn't hesitate to work Alejandro as hard as possible, and he knew the English crew would probably be very hostile towards him. At least the Spaniard knew how to hold his own when he needed to. And the captain wouldn't let anything too drastic happen to Alejandro if she wanted to get information, he knew that much.
And if the worst he had to do was work as part of the crew until he gave his information, he was doing pretty well. It was almost unheard of for someone to get off that easily, though he suspected it wasn't going to be quite as simple as that. It sounded like a good deal on paper, but Alejandro thought it would likely be a lot more brutal in practice. This captain didn't mess around, after all.

[Sorry if it's a bit short]
It wasn't long before Alejandro came face to face with the captain once again, who didn't hesitate to give Alejandro his first instructions. So he had been given an intricate job? It'd take him hours if he wanted to get it right and avoid punishment, which was exactly what the captain seemed to want.
"Very well, captain," Alejandro had replied, doing his best to hide his annoyance at having been given such a fiddly and intricate task. He was clearly being set up to fail. And he was going to be denied the exercise he wanted if he was going to be working on this.
Having taken the paper and the tool, he set to work. He was determined to do it perfectly, just because the captain had so clearly given him a frustrating and intricate just so he would fail. This English captain was looking for excuses to punish Alejandro, so he was determined not to give them any.

The woman smiled once more and left him to his job, leaving one of her crew to watch him. Gwen did her rounds and other things, like stopping to help her crew member who was obviously struggling to tie a knot. Which to most would have been a sign to get ride of them, after all what crew member didn't know how to tie the right knots? So she demonstrated it , undid it and handed it back to the struggling crew mate; who then of course got it right the next time. He thanked the captain and continued his work. She went back to her patrol. Everything had to be going perfect. She was the type of captain who was hard on her men, because she knew they could do it, but this was part of the reason people never quit. Gwen was also who the navy sent the new kids to because of things like just now. Of course punishment was not above her she preferred to solve the problem once and punish if it continued sort of thing. Nine times out of ten this worked she got what she wanted easily. There were bumps and people were lashed and such but on this ship it was rare. She was also a fan of letting the crew punish you for her. One person messed up meant everyone did. And that lead to the crew being very upset. After she saw that everything on the ship was running well and everyone was doing there job she relaxed and thought about what else she could do. There was always pressuring the first mate of the Spanish ship. So she excused the crew member watching the Spaniard man and watched him herself. Gwen sat on the railing of her ship near the wheel kicking up her feet and relaxing. "How is it coming, you getting those things to match up?" She said, her voice was a bit smug and she knew he had a decent amount to go (Its all good mine are relatively short too

So far it was slow going, but at least Alejandro was doing a good job of it. He wouldn't give the captain the satisfaction of seeing him make a mistake, not if he could help it.
It was a little uncomfortable being watched all the time but he knew there was nothing he could do about it and instead chose to just pretend he wasn't being watched. This was working pretty well for him. Well, it made him feel less uncomfortable, at least.
When a voice suddenly spoke, Alejandro started and almost messed up. Thankfully he didn't ruin it and had only made the slightest nick, which he was quickly able to smooth over. The design still matched up and it was impossible to tell he'd almost messed up.
He turned and saw the captain's smug face. Ugh. Seeing that expression on the captain's face was so frustrating. Still, he wouldn't show his frustration; that wouldn't get him anywhere.
"It's coming along fine," Alejandro responded, "and I think you'll find they match up."
He had spent a long time making sure they matched up - the captain shouldn't find any mistakes with his work at all. Alejandro had worked meticulously to make sure there could be no complaints, just so he could wipe the smugness right off the captain's face.

Alejandro was a little bit surprised at being offered the food and being given the compliment. He hadn't expected this, and he couldn't help but wonder why the captain was being so nice to him. He wasn't sure, but he decided to take the food anyway and thanked the captain, not wanting to appear suspicious.
"Yes, well, I expect you hear a lot of things about the Spanish that aren't true," Alejandro responded with a shrug "After all, if our respective countries told us the other people were hard-working and decent, we'd only like each other and that would be boring."
It was a joke, but Alejandro felt the grain of truth behind it. The countries had to make their people hate each other or they wouldn't be able to have big, expensive wars. Wars they could get lots of taxes for. He hadn't meant to sound so cynical but, oh well. Alejandro wasn't feeling like there was any point in defending his country on this ship, anyway, so he might as well say it like it was.
