Ceridwen Winters -- Pride was a large part in Ceridwen's personality. A lot of the time the pride turned into selfishness, but surprisingly, the redhead could be selfless at times. It was rare, yes, but it was there. Being self-absorbed was a part of her personality as well, but she wasn't always somebody who had their nose stuck up in the air. That's what differentiated her from Bran. As for her mother...there were a lot of differences. Rowena was more likely to give second chances. She was more likely to open her palace to different races without full on questioning them. She was more likely to sacrifice her time and money for people she knew nothing about. Rowena was, all in all, selfless and modest. Even still she was a wonderful ruler. So many people adored her because of her amazing qualities, but she still had her faults. And while Ceridwen had plenty of her own, she still felt like she could bring something so much better to the throne when she ascended upon it. She was glad to see that Akela thought it too. "Can't wait for you to stay true to your word then," Ceridwen mused with an amused glint in her green eyes.
Being a good archmage was also determined by how well the palace was kept up. Rowena had done an amazing job at keeping the palace in good shape, heck, in amazing shape, for all these years. She knew Rowena wanted her palace to be a wonderful place for others to live. Rowena wasn't the only one who lived here, and she knew that. Hearing Akela speak up about the palace reminded Ceridwen of the way her mother spoke about the palace. "You sound like my mother," Ceridwen murmured faintly. There wasn't anything teasing about her voice. There was a simple tone to her words, something like warmth even. In a way it was also odd to hear another person say something that reminded so much of Ceridwen's mother.
The mood turned from something comfortably serious to fun once again. "Hey, I totally understand. I wouldn't want to have to suddenly move, either. The palace rules for students staying here is because it's easier to secure our students. If something happens, at least the student is here and more likely way more protected than they are at their own house. A lot of students come from far away, too. Staying here is just common sense. Since you live in town, once you finish your training, you can choose to stay here or continue living in your house. But yeah, we can go and get your stuff now." In some aspects forcing students to live on the palace grounds was not the best but there were so many more pros to this than there were cons. Ceridwen would hate to move in some where different, but she would never have to worry about that. This palace had been her home from the beginning and would be her home until the very end.

Akela Rose Akela was a man of his word if nothing else. However, if circumstance prevented something, then he couldn't carry out his word. Simple as that. So, if this contract was fulfilled, then he wouldn't have to come back and see how she was ruling the town. He couldn't. No, he wouldn't even leave if the contract went through because the woods would belong to him. If this contract went through, Bran would be the one who would have to consider how he'd rule, what he'd do with the palace. He still wasn't sure if this was something he wanted, but right now, the reward was more than worth it. In all reality, he'd be an idiot not to accept the job. So he had, and it was already starting to become harder to follow through. He'd do it though, oh the college student would find a way. He always did.
For now, though, he noted the amusement in her eyes. "I'm sure it won't be a long wait." If Spirits granted them both the chance to live, then he was sure it wouldn't be long. He'd come back within a month if her taking control to see how things were going. Then either stay or vanish indefinitely. Most likely the latter.
Back to the palace though. Or, a different topic that started with the palace. With the redhead's words, he turned his eyes to her briefly. "Is that a good thing?" He questioned. Part of him was sure that it was - Rowena was a wonderful woman from what he'd seen and heard up until this point. However, Ceridwen might feel differently about the archmage. He had no way of knowing if she did, so he figured that he'd question it.
All too quick they were speaking about moving once more. He was relieved to hear that she understood why he wanted to move his stuff in before he saw the room, but he was a bit surprised. He was sure that she hadn't had to move a day in her life. Surely she'd lived here since day one, so what did she truly know about moving? Akela had only moved twice, but that was enough for him to despise it. "Thank you," Akela murmured, looking at the door for a moment longer. "Well, let's get to it then. If you show me the way out then I can lead the way to my house." | Tag: Kitty Kats | Words: ??? | Notes: genderfluid werewolf assassin - he/him typically |

Ceridwen Winters -- The concept of Ceridwen taking over the position of archmage was exhilarating to her. It thrilled her to no ends. One day she would be able to call the shots, to be the one everybody looked up to. No longer would she be some sort of princess figure. She would graduate to the position of a queen, and nobody could challenge a queen. On the other hand, though, thinking about becoming archmage scared Ceridwen. Her mother was a wonderful woman, and Ceridwen loved her as all children should love their mothers. Becoming archmage meant one of two things, and Ceridwen always hoped that Rowena would retire and step down rather than, well, the other option. If something ever happened to her mother... Ceridwen didn't want to think about that. Now wasn't the time to think of such darkness. Her chest would begin to hurt if she were to dwindle too long on the topic.
Glad to have Akela here to keep her on track, Ceridwen found herself grinning ever so slightly at his words. "Maybe not. Though I can only hope I take charge in light of my mother's retirement." That was the only hint that she would give away about the topic of her mother's death getting to her. And little did Ceridwen know, she was in line to be murdered before her mother even passed away. And she also had no idea that the one in charge of assassinating her was standing right beside her, her very own apprentice, the were she had ran into only about a day ago.
Ceridwen nodded in a silent response to Akela's question. "It is. Mother loves this place almost as much as she loves me and Father. She's worked hard to make this place as beautiful as it is. Sometimes she'll just walk down the halls and murmur about how wonderful this place is. She knows how lucky she is to be living here and have had lived here her entire life. She wouldn't move away from this place no matter what - it's a part of who she is." Sappiness. Ew. Ceridwen didn't do sappiness much if at all. This was probably the only time she was going to get that sappy, but if it was about her mother and her love for the palace then it was worth it.
Much like Rowena the archmage's daughter had grown up in the palace. Ceridwen had no idea what it was like to move. Even her room had stayed constant all her life. As an apprentice she didn't have to move into an apprentice's room, she just had to stay in her own personal bedroom. In a way Ceridwen felt bad for Akela, having to move so suddenly, but rules were rules, and while Ceridwen loved breaking them, she knew not to mess with this one. "Follow me," Ceridwen responded with a gesture that was angled toward down the hallway. With that confidence that Ceridwen was all too well known for, she began to walk down the hall and make her way toward the palace's main exit way.

Akela Rose Akela had never really been like the mage besides him. While he'd looked up to his parents, he'd never wanted to become alpha. No, he wanted to be head of the war wolves. He'd loved the idea of fighting and strategy and simply feeling the rush of winning a battle for his pack. As a child he'd sneak away to their training sessions, copying their movements to the best of his abilities before anybody found him and dragged him back to the pack house to work on his shifting. His father hadn't been entirely opposed to him denying his birth right, but the problem began to stem from the lack of a sibling. That didn't last long, though. The mages removed the problem entirely, house and all. Sometimes, he still wondered what his life would be like if he still had his pack around. If he'd have grown into becoming alpha, simply accepted it as he got older. Naturally his parents would've stepped down after he was of age and chose a mate - he didn't have to risk losing them before he came into power, not if everything was well within the borders. Maybe he would've been a good leader. Wholesome, caring, protective... nothing like he was in this moment.
Eyes darkened a bit with something unreadable, he gave a vague nod to Ceridwen's words. "That would be the favored option..." he muttered, just staring forwards for a moment before giving a light shake of his head. Thoughts clearing out and eyes brightening up a little, he figured it would be best to stay occupied for a bit. Just long enough to get far away from such a topic.
Much to his misfortune, the topic remained on parents. More specifically, her mother. "I can only imagine how much work she's put into it. After living somewhere for most, if not all, my life I wouldn't want to leave either. It's too significant to leave." Words from the heart, a concept he was to familiar with. Still, he said nothing more on the subject, wondering when he'd learn to shut up before he gave himself away.
Thankfully, they were back to moving. Whether that was good or bad could be decided later. Right now, it was a good distraction. So, when he was instructed to follow the werewolf did as told and followed the redhead down the hall and assumedly towards an exit. The sooner he got his house, the sooner he could change into something more suitable for walking and the sooner he could try and settle in his new living space. The dress was slowly becoming uncomfortable what with the unexpected amount of walking he was doing, and he no longer wanted time to think of way to skip out on moving. | Tag: Kitty Kats | Words: ??? | Notes: genderfluid werewolf assassin - he/him typically |

Ceridwen Winters -- Ceridwen nodded to Akela's words. Even before Ceridwen had been born - way before she had been born - Rowena had been tending to the palace. She had placed a lot of accessories around the structure and had made it all the more homey and welcoming. Ceridwen had seen pictures of the palace before Rowena had come into power, before even Rowena's own mother had been in power, and it had still looked comfortable and homey, but nothing like it was now. The palace now was a place that came out of somebody's dream. Rowena sure had put a lot of hard work into the palace. "As I've said, Mother absolutely adores this palace." That was pretty much that on the topic of the palace. Now it was time to think only about helping her new apprentice move in.
Walking down the hall, Ceridwen turned her head to look at Akela. "Where exactly do you live?" She was asking out of pure curiosity. While she'd learn soon enough where the new apprentice lived, she wanted to have an idea now about where Akela made his home. Once outside the palace walls Ceridwen was going to let Akela take the lead, but having an idea on where he lived would really help her out. She hated going about something half blind. Ceridwen wanted to be able to clearly see where she was going and what she was doing at all times. A few more thoughts began to sprout inside her mind like growing flowers. Did Akela live more on the upper side of the town, where the people who had more of a low-income lifestyle lived? Or perhaps he lived downtown, where the higher class people lived. Ceridwen was about to find out, but she almost couldn't contain her curiosity.
Swallowing down any more questions for right now, Ceridwen opened the palace door once she arrived. She gestured for Akela to step out before the redhead. It was time to switch up who lead and who followed. "Don't worry about the guards. You're with me. Oh, and Snowbiter won't harm you either. She's a dragon, and dragons are always suspicious of newcomers. She doesn't attack until you start something, though I'm sure you already figured that out on your way inside." Snowbiter happened to be the white dragon that sat atop the palace. Her sibling, a darker scaled brother, was named Sandsnapper. He tended to stay in the palace's back land, protecting the back of the palace while his sister guarded the front. They were very diligent reptiles, and Ceridwen really enjoyed having the duo around. It wasn't every day one got to see a dragon after all. They were even rarer than gryphons in this day and age.

Akela Rose The general feel of the palace would quickly become a plus side of living there. It wasn't entirely strange in the way that he felt particularly out of place due to elegance or high standard. No, it felt like somebody lived there because they liked it and not just because they had a status. Nodding a little to Ceridwen's words, he didn't say anything more. There was nothing to say - the topic was all said and done, and it didn't bother him in the slightest. It was a comfortable end, and he accepted it easily.
Continued down the hall with his mentor, the werewolf cocked an eyebrow at the question. Where he lived? They were going there, so did it really matter? Kind of - it was nice to have an idea of where one was going even though somebody was leading them. So, he thought about it for a moment - considered the size of his house, the street he lived on, and what he was closest to. "Just before downtown - south side." It seemed the most accurate to him, but he was sure that she'd find better words to describe the location. "Good place to live if you don't want to be bothered. It's a little bigger than the rest on the street, but I like it. That, and I put a lot of work into it." Yes, the house was his. Anything he couldn't do himself, he hired somebody to take care of it (but not without his help, of course). Anything he managed to do himself was either common sense out easily figured out through a couple of videos. Any money that didn't go to bills went to renovations and one or two expansions - next was the back landscape. That was important to him. Sadly, this wasn't the time to consider all of that.
Once at the door, he blinked as the redhead let him through first, but he didn't hesitate. Once outside, he took a deep breath and let a slow grin grace his features. Fresh air was the best air, really. It wasn't long before Akela was letting his attention be drawn by her words, and he nodded in confirmation. "I did happen to figure that out, but it's good to know I was right," he mused. He liked being right, it was simple as that. Call it an odd complex of his, but it wasn't going away. "So... We can take the main streets, or we can take my way and pick up some food on the way. If you want anything, that is." Offering his hand - yes, he was rather fond of skinship, and he figured they were getting along pretty well already - he smiled. "Either way, it should take about the same time." | Tag: Kitty Kats | Words: ??? | Notes: genderfluid werewolf assassin - he/him typically |

Ceridwen Winters -- Ceridwen couldn't help but raise a brow at Akela's response. She had assumed that Akela was well along in terms of money and whatnot, but she hadn't quite expected to hear her apprentice confirm the redhead's assumptions. Interesting. At least I'll have somebody used to the luxury side of life. Had Akela said he lived in the upper part of town, Ceridwen would have been just as fine with it. She had been raised in luxury and had more money than she could ever have dreamed of, and while she was snobby and stuck-up from her lifestyle, she wasn't a judgmental person when it came to somebody's monetary status. There were many great mages here who had worked their way up in life - literally from rags to riches. There was a mage here now that had been an apprentice when Ceridwen was one as well. He had been raised with literally nothing. His family had sent him to the palace in hopes that he could actually make himself useful in society, to actually have a successful career and make money. And now he was one of the better skilled mages in the palace. He wasn't better than Ceridwen - in her mind nobody was better than her - but he was somebody to admire; however, now was not the time to think about him. Ceridwen needed to focus on more important tasks right now.
The redhead, finally snapping out of her little reverie, nodded in understanding. "Alright. Got'cha." She didn't need to explain where he lived in any other words or phrases - she seemed to understand without the help.
A mischievous glint then danced in her green eyes. "So, care to tell me how you've come to live near downtown? You can spill your secrets to your own mentor, right?" A part of her truly did want to know. Actually, all of her wanted to know. Had he been born into a rich family? But if so, why hadn't Ceridwen heard of him before? She knew a lot of the rich families in town. She wanted to know who this Akela Rose character truly was. It wasn't time to learn everything about him, but she was curious to know something. He probably knew a lot about Ceridwen already. Being the archmage's daughter left little wiggle room for somebody to not know about her and a lot of her life. While her life was open from being in the spotlight for all of her life, Akela's life was shrouded in shadows, and Ceridwen was not mentally prepared for Akela's origins. She didn't know it, but she was not ready at all.
By the time they made it outside, the world greeted them with a sunny warmth that cascaded down from the sky. It looked as if it was no later than eleven, giving them plenty of time yet to do what they needed to do. Ceridwen was surprised to realize just how early it still was. What surprised her the most was how early she must have woken up. Any other day and she would still be in bed right now.
Trying to figure out how early she had woken up was dismissed the moment Akela mentioned picking up food. Immediately her stomach growled. "I'm all up for getting something. I've, uh," she started and looked down as if she were actually embarrassed by this confession, "never actually eaten out before... I've never had to." What was the point in buying food when the palace was the home of three exceptionally talented chefs? Three meals a day, seven days a week, they always had something made for the palace residents, and they always had something special for the so called royal family members. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to skip out on a meal at the palace for once... Sure, Ceridwen was certain that nothing could beat the delightful flavors of the palace chefs' cooking, but perhaps now was the time to expand her horizons and get out of her comfort zone when it came to eating.

Akela Rose Despite how much he spent on putting the works on his house, Akela managed to have a good amount still in the bank. He'd been saving as long as he could for this, and he'd be damned if he blew it all at once. After all the job he'd taken, there was no reason as to why he'd be broke anyhow. As for general luxury... His house was filled. Art, furniture, the works. He had it all, and he made sure it was comfortable, too. Even still, his house looked lived in, as if he'd gone out with the sole purpose of finding whatever he liked to fill the rooms with. The were made sure that each room matched with whatever color scheme he provided it with, save for the dining room and living room. That was built with more of an open concept and they shared a scheme. Generally, he'd gone with warm but light earthy tones with darker accent as well as actual colors. Right now, he couldn't remember what colors he'd changed them to this month, but he had. The dark stained wood accents, though? Permanent. Dark work was the best wood.
With a confirmed understanding, Akela grinned a little. He'd expected a question or to, but they didn't come immediately. Just a few moments later.
How did he manage to live downtown? Just a couple monthly killings, nothing too big... Cause that wouldn't give him away or anything. "Of course I can spill some of my secrets - you aren't ready for the rest, though." His tone was teasing, but he was really just buying time to figure something out. Anything, really. "I was in line for my father's business. He ran Rose Thorn Entertainment. Ya know, music, movies - you name it, we did it. Honestly, though, I didn't want it. I love my music and all that but I'm honestly not fit to run a company. Still, though, I'm collecting a good amount of royalties for every copyright." There was a pause in which he thought on this. It hadn't been his father, but maybe his great grand father? Either way, somebody had sold it, but his father had never owned it. And he no longer collected royalties - but, he had received a nice check after his parents passed. A sort of 'I'm sorry for your loss' kind of deal. He didn't complain. "I do odd jobs through - anything that brings in a good amount of money, I'll do it. I like being able to say I worked for things."
Now outside, Akela was easily drinking in the sun, knowing that depending on how much longer they were outside, he'd be at least half a shade darker than before. However, Ceridwen's words caught the college student off guard. Never? What'd she mean that she never ate out before? "Really now?" A sly grin spread across his features as he considered the possibilities. "Alright. I'm officially in charge of getting you the good stuff. So, change of plans - we're goin' to stop at my place so I can change into something I can actually walk in, then we're going to eat whatever the hell we want." His grin turned to a smirk. "My way home just became the short way home. Everything about to do is super unlady like, and I need to know that you're willing to do it to. I also need to know if you're cool with running." | Tag: Kitty Kats | Words: ??? | Notes: genderfluid werewolf assassin - he/him typically |

Ceridwen Winters -- There were a lot of different ideas pouring into Ceridwen's mind. Had Akela sold a lot of his photography to upper end families? Was he still doing that? Had he found some old stash of gold out in the middle of nowhere from times long gone? Had he single-handedly taken down a pack of weres? Now that would be cool; if he could do that Ceridwen would certainly want to hire him to tag along with her whenever she went back to the woods to look for that terrible werewolf. Though, when his answer came, Ceridwen felt a bit...disappointed. She even felt the disappointment show on her face, but she managed to wipe it away in a timely manner.
An entertainment company? Now that wasn't as cool as taking down a pack of werewolves or finding long lost gold and treasure... But hadn't those ideas been far-fetched anyway? Yeah, but Ceridwen had held on to hope for those two ideas.
Ceridwen took a moment to let the answer sink in. Rose Thorn Entertainment. She had heard of it a few times before. Hadn't she watched a few movies from the company as well? Eh, if she did she couldn't exactly remember. Ceridwen never was one to pay attention who made the movie. She was always more interested in actually watching the movie and trying to figure out plot twists before anybody else could.
A few more moments of silence drifted between the two. Finally, after some time, Ceridwen felt that bubbling motion of excitement curl up inside her again. She no longer cared if Akela found treasure or if he had fought off dangerous weres. He was in the entertainment business? Or, well, used to be as he had said. It was still pretty cool, though. "That's pretty cool!" She exclaimed. Finally, she was breaking the silence. "I bet you got to meet all sorts of celebrities and stuff. Did you ever get a role in a movie or write music for somebody?" The redhead had a few more questions to ask, but she swallowed them back. If she asked Akela too many questions then he would probably forget the first ones she asked and focus on the last ones. She wanted all of her questions asked, not just a few.
The topic of Akela doing odd jobs practically flew right over Ceridwen's head. Odd jobs were odd jobs and that was that. What she cared about right now was the entertainment business Akela was once a part of and the idea of actually eating out for once. Maybe it was best to explain to Akela why she had never gotten the chance to eat out.
It wasn't important, not to her, but she felt like Akela was extremely shocked by her confession. Was restaurant food really that good or something? Ceridwen had almost - almost - stopped somewhere with a friend one time to grab some food, but they never went through with the idea. Ceridwen had remembered that the chef was preparing a meal of steak for the Archmage and her family, and Ceridwen was never one to miss out on a good steak. Even when Ceridwen was out beyond the palace walls, she always came back for at least one meal. "We have three chefs at the palace. Professional. They always have meals served for the entire palace. I guess because of that I never saw the need to actually go and buy my own food. Felt kind of dumb to do so," she admitted with a shrug of her shoulders.
As Akela explained how there was going to be something super unladylike and asking if Ceridwen was okay with running, a sly grin came over her. She looked at Akela as if to ask 'what makes you think I haven't been unladylike before?' "Running? I'm amazing at running." Not really, but she was a decent runner and she could at least go long distances if need be. She wasn't exactly a sprinter. "And trust me, I've done so many things that a lady would never dream of doing. This is going to be easy," she chimed with that sly, mischievous look still on her face. Things had just turned all the more interesting for Ceridwen, and she was fully prepared to do anything.

Akela Rose He hadn't meant it to be interesting. No, he meant the topic to be dropped. It was essentially a blatant lie, and he didn't want to have to elaborate either. Elaborating meant having to come up with something believable, and then remembering it for later, and while his memory was fantastic, he tended to speak faster than he thought at the worst of times. That meant slipping up. There was no room for slip ups, not in this situation. So, he could only hope that the redhead wouldn't really question his family history much more than she indirectly had.
The silence that passed over them, while comfortable, was a bit deafening for him. What was she thinking? Did she even believe him? At this point, anything he said could make or break this job, and basically his life. But he couldn't really do much more than wait for a response, so he did. Akela didn't end up waiting long, though, as the mage broke the silence with an exclamation. Any possible nerves dissolving into nothingness, he grinned a little as she began to ask questions. "Yeah, I did. You name them and I can almost guarantee I've met them at least once. As for roles, I did. Typically as a child but after everything that happened with my parents, I was too young to keep the company. Although, they still offer me the parts. I only take the best, though. They haven't been as good since my father, but still." Not a total lie. He'd wound up a child actor immediately after his parents passed because due to a family friend - the one that owned it at the time of the incident. After staying with her for a few years, he'd ditched to make his own living instead of practically mooching off others.
He'd been waiting for questions of the jobs he took on, but he was eternally grateful that they never came. While he did do some normal work around town and people knew him for it, a good portion of it was thieving, and the better part of it was murder. So, while he could've easily answered questions about it, he didn't want to. There was nothing else to be said on the topic, and it was easily glossed over as if it had never been mentioned. 'Good.'
The conversation easily went back to how she'd never eaten outside the palace. As a college student, eating out was practically all he did if there was nothing in the house from his last hunt. Or from his last shopping trip. So to hear that she'd had never gone out for food? Ridiculous in his mind. However, a brief explanation from her and him nodding in understanding. "Yeah, I get that. Why spend money when you have professional food at home, right? Honestly, though, I probably wouldn't go out to eat if I had a chef. Unless I wanted good sushi - I only ever go to Soyoung for sushi. She makes it the best, in my opinion." Well now he wanted some, but they had to get to his house first.
Easy.
Turning to Ceridwen now, Akela couldn't help but chuckle at the look he received. Oh, so soon-to-be archmage wasn't as lady-like as the public assumed? Wonderful - that would make things ten times easier on him. When she gave her answer, he nodded, rolling his shoulders twice and cracking his neck with a couple tilts of the head. "That's good then. Sadly, I can't run as fast as I usually do in heels, but it isn't far off my usual speed." He glanced down at his shoes, momentarily pondering if he should change out of them when he changed his clothes. 'Nah, they're too cute to ditch today.' With that mentally settled as easily as it had been, brown eyes turned to the mage once more. "Alright - let's go." And he was off and running already.
He hadn't mentioned the trespassing. Not in the front of the guards - that'd be stupid. It was fine though - any yards or occasional house he went through were abandoned, or owned by people that loved him and were used to his antics that took him from point A to point B. He also didn't mention the climbing. Fences, part of a tree to get over the one fence that he absolutely hated because it was too tall, and possibly scaling his own home. That last one was just for fun, as the lupine occasionally favored his bay window to his front door. | Tag: Kitty Kats | Words: ??? | Notes: genderfluid werewolf assassin - he/him typically |

Ceridwen Winters -- So Akela did get to meet celebrities. Now that was cool. She wanted to ask something else about celebrities, but her mind turned around from that and had her thoughts end up somewhere else, a place where pride lived, a place where her ego reigned. "None of those celebrities are as great as me, though. I'm practically a celebrity myself, being the archmage's daughter and all. You're lucky to know me, and luckier yet to be my apprentice." The redhead snickered at her words, finding amusement in them. Maybe she wasn't the biggest celebrity out there, and she wasn't even considered a celebrity, but a lot of people knew about her. She was in line to rule over the world of mages. Plenty of people knew about her and who she was. That made her famous, right? To her it did.
Being "famous" meant that she had all sorts of money. Having money meant she could get the best food around all by staying in her own home. "You like sushi, eh?" Luckily Ceridwen was quite fond of the Asian cuisine as well. Though she had yet to try anything too exotic surprisingly. "We get that sometimes back at the palace." Mentioning sushi now made her want some. How long had it been since she last had sushi anyway? Too long, that was the answer. But before they could even go and eat they had to make it to Akela's house. Ceridwen could only hope the were's house wasn't too far away now.
If running was the best way to get to Akela's home, then so be it.
Ceridwen smirked, that sly look never leaving her face. She had a few tricks up her sleeve when it came to running. Akela hadn't mentioned even once that they had to play clean when it came to the running.
The redhead took in a deep breath. She closed her eyes, mentally clearing her mind until only one idea was in her head - agility and speed. What animal had both of those qualities? A cheetah sure did, but they were sprinters. Ceridwen needed more than that. If she didn't push it she could call upon her personal spirit animal. But she didn't need the lioness right now, no, she needed something else. Something that could run for a while and still have a decent speed to back it up. The first animal to come to mind was a horse. Perfect.
Calling up a spell was easy. Once her mind had cleared she was more than prepared to conjure up a quick spell to give her a boost in her running. A faint glow of green began to snake around her, starting from her hands and ending at her feet. She opened her eyes back up once the spell had been cast, and for a moment her green eyes seemed to glow with an unnatural green. The speed and agility of a horse now running through her veins, Ceridwen was beyond ready. She took off alongside Akela, not having a care in the world about where they were going and not caring about the whole trespassing thing. If somebody had a problem with it they could come talk to Ceridwen face-to-face about it.

Akela Rose The werewolf honestly thought nothing of the fact that he'd gotten to meet celebrities. Hell, he still could if he so wished - they'd still let him on set to do basically whatever he wanted because of who he was. However, the redhead's words drew a good natured chuckle from him. "That is true. None of them were as great, or quite frankly as fun, as you." Most that he had met were strictly business, dismissing him as a child. Although, half the time he was the reason their sets were the image of perfection. He was also the reason why their shots were ideal. Editing programs were nothing new to him, and the sets? If he couldn't get a good hypothetical picture, then it wasn't good enough for a movie. Simple as that.
But soon enough the topic was food - more specifically, sushi. "Not like - love. Sushi is my everything, second only to venison steaks." He had sushi whenever he had the chance, really. Soyoung knew what he liked and simply dropped it in his kitchen from time to time. Time to time meant every other day. Living across from the chef had its perks, and it wasn't like they weren't friends. Akela brought him venison whenever he asked, and in return, sushi was dropped off through his kitchen window.
He hadn't even realized Ceridwen was casting a spell. He hadn't even bothered to check before he took off. With a glance, though, he noticed the glow of her eyes. That was pretty cool if you asked him, but this definitely wasn't the time to focus on that. Looking forwards once more, a care-free smile took over his visage and he was simply launching himself over the first fence, landing with a roll and getting up, continuing on as if he hadn't practically flown over a fence. The path he'd mentally created took them through almost nothing but peoples yards where the few who were outside shouted warm greetings to him. Akela, in response, gave the best wave he could and told them he'd see them later. They went over fences, up a tree to get over that fence. That fence was new - freshly painted and smelling of new wood. He made sure they dashed through the abandoned house, but only because he liked it. It was an open concept, and all of its doors had vanished simply due to wear and tear, and a particularly bad storm a couple months back. Hell, at one point they were on the roof of somebody's garage.
It took about seven minutes - two more than he'd estimated, but he blamed the new fence - to reach his property. Slowing to a stop, Akela came to stand at the front door. He was laughing by now, though breathing a little harder than usual. "God, I haven't had a good run like that in a while. It's been even longer since I've had somebody to keep up with me." | Tag: Kitty Kats | Words: ??? | Notes: genderfluid werewolf assassin - he/him typically |

Ceridwen Winters -- The compliment very much went to the mage's head. She seemed to puff out like some sort of proud bird. "Of course not. I'm the best after all." In reality she wasn't, but Ceridwen could very well believe that she was the absolute best. If Akela kept agreeing with her as well, Ceridwen's ego would only grow and grow until she was just as bad as a bantam rooster. Luckily her ego had yet to get that big. Given some time, though, it certainly would.
The topic of sushi allowed Ceridwen to push aside her ego. At least for now. For some reason she now felt the need to remember that Akela loved sushi. Due to her status within the palace she very well could ask the chefs to prepare some of the finest sushi for Akela and specially deliver to his room. Thinking about it, Ceridwen had never really went out of her way to give somebody something they enjoyed. Maybe she felt the need to do something like that because Akela was her first ever apprentice. Or maybe it was due to the odd feeling of attraction she had for the mage apprentice, but Ceridwen was pushing that thought aside. No, it was because Akela was her apprentice, yeah, that had to be it.
Venison steaks? Well, Ceridwen would have to keep that in mind as well. That was something she could also ask the chefs to make for Akela. "Too bad you can only get venison during hunting season. Sushi, though, you can get whenever." That was the good thing about sushi - it was available any time of the year. Deer meat, however, could only be gathered in the winter months when deer season was open, when the bucks were in rut.
Deer. Ceridwen should have thought of that animal when enhancing her speed and agility. Oh well, going with a horse was close enough. They were both hoofed animals.
Unlike Akela who knew where they were and actually payed attention to everything around them, Ceridwen followed without really taking the sights into account. She jumped with ease across fences, the horse inside helping her clear it with ease, she dashed through yards, and she easily made it up to the roof. The tree, pssh, that had been no problem as well.
Ceridwen came to a halt when Akela did. The redhead was breathing sharply, taking in deep breaths. While she wasn't too out of breath, the run had been heart racing. She gave a huff, taking in some air right after that. "That was fun," she breathed. Akela's laugh was becoming contagious, and Ceridwen couldn't help but laugh right alongside the were. "Really?" She questioned when Akela mentioned not having somebody keep up with him in a while. "You must know some serious slowpokes then," she laughed, eyes alight with the laughter that was parting from her lips.

Akela Rose Perhaps he was starting to overdo it with the compliments and other such. It wasn't unusual for him to hand out compliments, but to give so many in this relatively short time span was a bit out of the ordinary for him. He'd taken to avoiding flattery altogether after several occasions of situations he never signed up for, but to today was different. No, it wasn't because of whatever he thought he was starting to feel or want, it was because he had a job. Yeah, a job. That was it.
As for sushi and venison, Akela could compliment them endlessly. Unless it was made wrong, then he'd complain for days on end until he had something better. He took his food very seriously, especially if he was paying for it. Maybe Soyoung had dropped something off in his kitchen... What day was it? Was it the other day in their unspoken every other day schedule? He could only hope it was. They'd be able to have immediate food, but if they wanted the fancy stuff they'd have to go into the restaurant. Which, he didn't have anything against it, but immediate food to tide them over would be great. Otherwise, he'd just change as fast as possible, nothing he couldn't do.
Deer was a different story. He could only bring it home after a successful hunt, and that was if he had one. Then he had to worry about getting it home without question of why he had deer out of season. The second part was harder than the first - it meant being shifted at one in the morning and hoping that nobody saw him running across town with a deer hanging from his jaws.
The run was easy, but it would've been better if he'd been in proper attire. He had to worry about the dress snagging on fences, how many people were around in case the dress inevitably flew up for a few seconds, and the heels. The heels that were a little more dirt friendly than most because the heel itself was thick - thank the Spirits for Dr. Martens - but still not dirt friendly enough. With the pressure of his landings, he was sure that he'd be cleaning them by the end of the night. Besides that, heels were just a bit more of a hassle to run in. Another worry - extremely minor, but a worry nonetheless - his hair. His hair that it took half an hour to dry the way he wanted, was susceptible to becoming more disorderly than it was naturally with a simple breeze. It was rare that the college student ran without tying it back or braiding it, so this? This would most likely require a good dunk under the shower head.
Once stopped in front of their front door, The werewolf took to catching his breath through his laughter. When Ceridwen spoke up, he could only nod as he heard her begin to laugh as well. Oh yes, a wonderful sound that he could get used to. "Yeah - I would've been faster but these shoes weren't made for running." Drawing in a deep breath, he figured that this was enough of simply standing outside the door. So he dug a bit in his pockets - dresses with pockets were everything - and pulled out the key, unlocking the door before pushing it open. "Ladies first," he stated, holding the door open with a grin.
Part of him expected some sort of question after his statement. Technically, he wasn't a lady. He just looked like one today. Hopefully, there wouldn't be any questions that required explanations. Akela wasn't ready for that yet - as much fun as he'd already had, he didn't really know her, thus leaving him unaware of how she'd take his actual gender identity. | Tag: Kitty Kats | Words: ??? | Notes: genderfluid werewolf assassin - he/him typically |

Ceridwen Winters -- Akela had a wonderful laugh. Ceridwen continued her own laughter, the noise coming naturally in the moment, but she couldn't help but be ore drawn to Akela's laughs than her own. There was something about his laugh, something about the sound of it... Stop it, Ceridwen. Now isn't the time to find your own apprentice hot or something. At least her consciousness was being rational about it all.
After some time Ceridwen's laughter died down. A smile continued to show over her face, though. "You seemed fast enough. For somebody in heels, you ran like a cheetah." A part of her was teasing and a part of her was being honest. For somebody who didn't use a spell - as far as the redhead knew - Akela had been a fast runner. What Ceridwen didn't know, though, was that the wolf inside Akela had probably been a large help.
The house was exquisite. Ceridwen could certainly see why Akela would be hesitant to move from here to the palace. Ceridwen only thought the house was fit for a former celebrity, for somebody who worked with movies and music, but in reality this was the house of an assassin. An assassin that had been contracted to kill her next. Of course, she knew nothing about just how far Bran was willing to go to secure the throne for himself. She didn't know about the true darkness in his heart, or the plan he had with the were standing before her. Ceridwen only thought of Akela as he had told her so far.
These thoughts faded away as Akela spoke up. "How generous of you, Akela dear," Ceridwen mused. She purposefully brushed up against Akela as she made her way inside the house, taking in the sights of it all as she did.
