Jake is still tied up... I'd post but I'm not sure that it would help the plot.

THE GUARDS <><><>
It wasn't long before the mutants had started into their breakfast that armed guards came in. The people had barely had a chance to wolf down a plate or two when they grabbed them out of their feast. They were rough, knowing that the food would not sit well in their stomachs, for those that had pigged out. Their stomachs would not be used to so much food, and would such protest according to how much extra food they ate. A cruel way to throw them into their next exercise, but the guards weren't paid to be humane. They were paid to do their job.
The mutants would be led down the halls to a room that they had never seen before. Handcuffs would jingle as they were shoved roughly down the hall, one after the other. The mutants were on their way to their first training procedure, unbeknownst to them. All they would know was that they certainly weren't going into their cells. Most would much rather be in their cells than suffer what they were about to go into. Battling a giant iron robot while trying to avoid slipping into a food coma? Near impossible.
They were let out of their handcuffs when they got into the room. In the center was a giant, shining iron golem. It appeared to be powered off, it's head slumping against its chest, its features strangely human like. Truly, a metal man. It was 10 feet tall, with large fists, and empty eyes.
<>
Attention Patchwork People, this is your first training exercise.
Those were the only words offered to the mutants, and those were the words that awoke Jake O'Malley. The blood had dripped onto his t-shirt from his cheek, staining the collar and ruining his shirt. His face was caked with dried blood, and his head ached.
He glanced up at the mutants through the thick glass, wondering if any of them had noticed his pathetic state, bound to a chair with both his hands cuffed behind the chair. He hoped not.

Oscar Liss ❝ My name is [Oscar Liss]. I am an Aquarius. I enjoy sunsets, long walks on the beach, and frisky women. And I did not kill anyone. ❞ Stomach full and aching, Oscar really did think he might just explode. Maybe it hadn't been a good idea to eat so much so quickly, but alas, he did not regret it, shame that it was. Well, it probably didn't help that their little escorts weren't really trying to be gentle. Fortunately, at least, Oscar wasn't in the mood to flirt with them either.
His first reaction to a large metal giant was - "what the hell is going on" - so much so that he actually said it aloud. His second reaction was to think, Well, I'm not in any danger at the moment, so I'm going to sit down before I throw up." And so he did. Surely that wasn't what whatever scientists designing this wanted him to do, but it was what he wanted, so he did it. Sprawling his wings out to lay against the floor as well, he looked up at his new companions.
"Would one of you lovelies wake me up if I'm in danger? Thanks," he asked, winking. He leaned back; the floor was only slightly less hard than his mattress (in his opinion) and probably more clean. Not that he cared about being clean, but it was a passing thought.
He did not notice the hidden Jake beneath the glass floor, unfortunately, or maybe he wouldn't have cared. Or he would have found it a tad strange. Or he would have laughed, perhaps, and requested more candies.

Julian Noel Andreasen Status: Kind of feeling sick “Things could be worse. I think.”
The armed guards came in and roughly marched them away from where they’d been sitting. Of course things were starting to go downhill already. Wishing for things to turn out well for them was nothing but that — a simple passive wish that would remain as a mirage. Drawing in a small breath when he was hauled down the corridors and towards a room he hadn’t seen before, he surveyed his new surroundings after blinking a few times.
His wrists still stung from the handcuff that’d bound them together as he’d been pushed and pulled this way and that (which wasn’t good for his stomach considering how much he’d been eating), but the notion was quickly forgotten when he realised what circumstance they’d been abruptly thrown into. They had no knowledge of what was about to happen and they were all gathered here together in a place that had never been introduced to them before, all nine of them. Whatever it was, it was bound to be disastrous, and the sight of a massive iron golem didn’t help improve the apprehension he felt, either. Prying his own orbs away from the empty eyes of the thing, he turned his head to glance over at the rest of the mutants.
“I’d like to say sure thing,” he said with a slight quirk of his eyebrow as he remained standing, “but I doubt we’re going to be left alone like this for long. You'd better keep your chin up, Oscar, and I don't mean that in a figurative way.” He had the urge to sigh as he brushed a lock of his hair away from his face — not because of Oscar’s remark but at the situation that was rapidly unraveling around them. It seemed that they would never be able to catch a break for the remaining time they were trapped in the damn place. Wonderful.
Though he was surveying their new surroundings fastidiously, albeit silently with slightly furrowed eyebrows, Julian hadn’t caught sight of Jake behind the thick glass. Not yet, anyway. Or perhaps he had caught sight of the other man and was keeping quiet of it because mentioning the sight of an individual who was bound and bruised wasn’t going to improve or change the situation they’d been tossed into.
