AuranskyThese two acted very funny around each other and Eveline could see no reason for it. She kept her thoughts to herself. Keep your head down, keep a low profile. The ones who aren't noticed get the most information. The ones who don't draw unwanted attention to themselves are the ones who make the most. Not 'make the most money' but make the most of anything really. It was how she'd said sane when dating Tom. It was how she'd kept him sane. "Eveline means 'desired child,'" said Eveline carefully. "And Morten mean 'town on the moor'. I do not believe my family name has anything to do with the Germans, however. At least, not for a good hundred years. All names are based somewhere, so I suppose I wouldn't be surprised. Maybe the name does come from there." Which it didn't, considering her whole name was as much as alphabet soup, jumbled together to create a fake life. Eveline was close to her real name, if different in meaning. The middle and last had been something Tom had helped her come up with. Something that sounded like it might be real, but just unusual enough in the spelling that Eveline's phenetic loving brain would be able to put it down on paper. "Good to meet you," she said, as his hand dropped away, almost surprised that he hadn't noticed the card. It didn't matter. It had slipped from her grip anyway. At the suggestion that she'd dropped something she looked down, as if surprised. "Ah, so I did." But she didn't bend over to retrieve it. Instead she looked, saying, "Doesn't really matter. I would say it's just a little bit of trash." She dipped her head again, a dismissive nod to Rowlin this time. "You can take care of it right?" And she winked. A very clear wink, so that both Noir and Rowlin could see. Then she gave a little wave, turned on her heel, and started walking back the direction she'd come from. Whistling under her breath. "Can't stick around I'm afraid. I got all I needed. Thank you for your help ... Noir." There was a hitch in her voice. Like she was going to say a different name or not say a name at all. She'd memoried what had been on the card at a simple glance. Her attempt may even have been to show Rowlin she'd already known who he was. Maybe not. The card was face down in the slightly slushy snow. On the back, however, there was now a sort of sticker or logo. Six stars, arranged in a circle. Pre-arranged words, also on the sticker, were arranged in the same circle, spiraling down into it. Six for the fire. Odd.

Misty ((I predict a reply from you in a week. )) ((My post is at the bottom of the last page)) mintedstar/furNoir waved, "Till we meet again." He told Eveline who was now walking away. His interest was now on the young lady walking away, her way of walking, and swaying. it was his way of reading a person-their personality and type of character they are. He would have kept his attention on that, had Rowlin not bopped him in the head. "(V)What was that for?" Noir raised a brow, rubbing the back of his head. "That's for later." Rowlin handed Noir the pocket watch. "Codinates are on the watch, go to the next location and check things out. There should be less people out there, so use all your resources if needed." "Okay.." Noir nodded with a shrug, now putting on the pocket watch, then turning away. "I'll go. But if rumors start spreading, our media department better be ready to cover-" He turned around now to see Rowlin, only to see that Rowlin had left the scene too. "Ah, common.." Noir Shrugged now. Rowlin had gone after Eveline. Though she had a head start, he ran down the street to get a somewhat distance. Once in close enough proximity he called out, "H-Hey, wait-I was wondering if you can help me out with something!" He called out now, hoping she would stop. Worst she could do was run-but that usually only happened under certain circumstances. ғewp|leaf🍁 ((Thank you for your interest, but we are currently not looking for new people, sorry!))

"Was there something I could be of assistance with?" she asked. She already knew what he was and what he wasn't. Not by any give away that Rowlin had made, he'd just been in a position for Eveline to silently judge him. The judgement was something she kept to herself, as it was neither favorable or damning. It was just ... She knew following her own thought process was confusing, so she cut it off there. Her eyes didn't meet Rowlin's and instead she looked at a place somewhere down the middle of his shirt. Both hands were placed behind her back as she considered what he might say. The call, as scares as it was, didn't seem to indicate that he was going to ask about the card she'd dropped, but she'd see about that for sure.

mintedstar/furRowlin had caught up, making a stop just a few steps away from Eveline. Keeping a calming expression, he reached a hand for his scarf, pulling it further down his neck to fully show his face. Probably out of courtesy. With the scarf now looped downward against his chest, he revealed his smile which was probably hiding underneath. "Well first and foremost I would like to apologize for Noir's awkwardness." He started off with his priority thoughts. "Being a single dad as of recent, and working dayshifts can be quite the life jerker." He softly brought up. With that out of the way, he rested his hands on his hips now, "The other question that comes to mind, is if you have ever encountered a werewolf." He asked now with a casual tone. "Encouter, herd, rumors, anything helps really." He added now slightly leaning forward, not enough to be noticed but still a tad bit. "Anything of thoughts helps out a lot." He nodded now. This was casual talk, perhaps a bit out there-or maybe insane?

This was casual talk, perhaps a bit out there-or maybe insane? Eveline hadn't been aware of Noir's personal life and she might have been interested if they'd been on a more personal footing instead of just recently met. But it did color her opinion of him a little differently. That had probably been Rowlin's point, but she didn't see how it was a request for any sort of assistance or question. But he seemed to be coming to that. The question surprised her. It was straightforward, but that was what she had expected. No, it had included the word 'werewolf' in it and it was not within her pre-expected questions. She'd thought she'd read Rowlin. She'd thought she'd correctly expected things from him. But she'd been wrong. "Encountered?" she asked. For once, her voice was actually serious. Not like she was talking to a madman. If Rowlin was going out of a limb to say this, then she didn't know. Instead she addressed it at face value. "If you are looking for a specific one, I highly doubt I would be able to help. But ... yes, I am aware of them. But I haven't seen one in as many years and not in this town." Now it was her turn to ask a question. "And the question was asked because ...?"

((The first online class I've taken was back in HS. It was math over the summer, had to retake in order to progress to the next level.)) ((It wasn't too bad. Since then I took other HS classes online, and in College I've taken several.)) (( What I appreciate in Online Classes is the fact that you're saving time driving , parking, and getting to class. You get up walk to your computer and work. Yes at times hybrids ask you to go on campus, but it's either a lab or "presentation" based on what you been working on your own.)) ((A lot of my online classes so far have been interactive. Forums, live chat, video chat projects* )) ((and in many courses you can use notes for your exams. Some of the exams are timed via an hour once you open the exam. Or others have a deadline allowing you to open and close until the deadline comes.)) ((Other alternatives are "limited openings" until deadline. Where you can only open it three times before it locks, and must be finished by a deadline.)) ((During these exams, yes I have made study groups. Where we yes screen shot or stay online to take the quiz with 0 deadline and use our notes to collab exam.)) ((I had one class on campus where the prof gave us an online quiz cause she was mad at us.)) ((We had like one chance, and she already had the bar raised beyond a level. Our study group decided we would study baased on what we were given. Then have one person with the highest grade take the quiz as we all answered the questions. )) ((He got like one question wrong as a collaberative effort. Ofc, we used that to get it right on everyone elses.)) ((Yes it was cheating, but this professor wasn't leaving room for breathers. We reported her to the dean after the semester. She gave everyone such a hard time. And admited so many times she wanted the class to close and didn't like the diea of being up at 7am (earlier to get there) ((I told her if I'm getting up at 4am to be there. She should have no issue being up at 5am)) mintedstar/furRowlin slowly shook his head, "I'm not looking for anyone in particular. I just wished to inquire of any werewolf history in the area." He replied, further emphasizing his earlier comment. He shifted his foot 45% to the right, still keeping himself upright or at least what seemed like upright. "This incident-er what was back there was something differnet. We know who attacked, and their connection to the victim. However, the connection between the victim and attacker is raising red flags that coenside with another incident that was not reported not too far from here." He added, slightly looking away. "I understand that this town is having fire issues, which is strange for an area that shouldn't be on fire as often as California. Unlike California having open miles of dead grass and dry air, this place has trees, moist in the air and certainly no dead space." He turned his head towards the other side now, "Aside from this matter which is based on family feuds, the other site of incident raised international flags but its too early to be certain if this incident connects to the other, or even the fires for the matter." He rested a hand against the back of his neck to help stretch to the side a bit. "If you do know anything of werewolves in this town. Such as old pack sites, rituatal sites, old battlegrounds. Anything tribes, or packs. It would assist a lot with what may become a murder spree if not addressed soon."

(*pats Misty* I'm very sorry. ) (Hum. Well, I'll take what I can get in-person. It's just ... makes more sense for me as a person.) AuranskyEveline understood that at least. It shed more light on what had happened here, at least. She raised a hand thoughtfully, resting it under her chin. Considering. "So our little town drew more attention," she murmured. "And attention from a werewolf ... or were wolves ... no less." But she shook her head. "I've never heard of any sites that might have been host to some in the past. Though the area is rather ideal, I think they usually stayed away. I've been living here for a long time. I don't like dangerous things coming in." Like she owned the town. Which she didn't. But she did have a say, maybe more than other people she knew. "And if there was anything dangerous here, than I would make sure it wouldn't stay here for long. But no werewolves. I think I would have had some knowledge. However ..." She didn't look backwards, in the direction the signs of a scuffle had been, "This is new. Danger attracts danger. The fires were being taken care of before you came, which is why I'm surprised to find you here." She was watching Rowlin, an expression in her eyes. But it was hard to pin down. Worry? Fear? Apprehension? "I'll see what my contacts know about any werewolves. Maybe you should ask yourself, however." Murder spree? So far, no one had been killed yet. But danger attracted danger and it might not be as non-lethal as the fires had been so far.

mintedstar/fur((I was replying Monday, and I had to leave for semi urgent business. >.< )) ((I personally have come to find online classes as a healthy option when i'm limited on time. One semester I was asked to work fulltime 5 days a week. Having the option to literally drive home after work, let me barely scratch by traffic and use the rest of the afternoon to finish my daily assignments from home. In PJ's, and snacks. xD)) Rowlin turned slightly to lean on his side. "Well, in simple terms yes. Yet for all you know this talk of werewolves could have been here long before anyone took a keen interest. On the other hand, it could just be a coincidence that this is coinciding with other matters." He added now with further thought. Crossing his arms, then turning his head downwards to think. "Werewolves are not all bad, just as we ourselves try to live a meaningful existence. Rebellion of course exists in everything, whether it be beliefs, opinions, politics. That applies to everyone, and in this case the suspicious pack leader encountered the other night." He threw another bone at her, of course he would. She was more familiar with this town, it benefited he provided as much detail indirectly to help push his concerns aside. Especially with her here... she's a man made created monster..He now slid back a bit, just to keep himself interested in his own conversation. Standing in one place for too long was never his thing. "It's still too early to really decipher anything, but the encounters last night did happen, and almost came at a cost." He shrugged, "Nonetheless, any help would be much appreciated." He now couldn't help but lean forward slightly with a hand in the air, there was a smile to his expression. "Why i'm here? See that's no secret!" He couldn't help but explain. "My friend and I used the opportunity to transfer out here for fire assistance. But, we were already planning on coming out here for Noir's sake." He couldn't help but wink, as if he was letting Eveline in on some big elaborate needs to know. "He has recently returned to the states from working abroad, to take full custody of his step daughter." He briefly paused his excitement dying down before speaking up in a serious tone. "His wife passed away." He swung his open hand from left o right, closing it into a fist as he reached the other end. "It was a coup, that took her life, and shattered the girl." He gazed away, the green lit eyes of his, fading out. "At the end of the day, we were left with one dead, and a child who will need blood transfusions until her death." He winced just thinking about it. "We thought of having those two here would be a good opportunity to get them to cope with the events that had recently took place. My partner thought it would also be a decent idea to ask for a transfer as a means of work to keep ourselves occupied a bit as well." He added not, resting his left hand over his right elbow. "But after last night, I cannot say for certain that any of this, is the right choice anymore." He looked down briefly towards his right for a shrug of uncertainty.

Auransky(*pats* Priorities are important.) Eveline watched him move and talk. She wondered how much of this was him talking to her and how much of it was him talking to himself. It explained things, she would admit, but it reflected a personal side of people she'd hardly met. Like he was talking as much for his own benefit as for hers. "I'll look into things," she promised. It was the only thing that she could truthfully promise. Werewolves. Interactions with werewolves. She was younger, a lot younger than certain people she knew. She didn't look it. But she didn't have the experience that Tom did or knowledge Percival had. She couldn't say that she would find anything or that the problems would all be solved. The evidence and the continued fires proved that. "There were people already in place to protect this town," she said, gently. "But help is always needed. And your friend," she meant Noir. "Probably appreciates you being there for him and his daughter. You can't tell what the right choice is until the story is completed. At least he knows you are trying." It wasn't her place to say such words. She didn't know Noir. She didn't know Rowlin, his partner, or this nameless daughter. But she said it anyway because she felt it needed to be said. Once again, the woman dipped her head. "If there is no other way you can think of that I may be of service to then I'll begin looking into your ..." her lips pressed together. "Werewolves."
