featherlegRowlin slightly glimpsed away wondering if anyone was near by. Thankfully everyone was off doing their own thing; otherwise he'd probably be getting the scolding of a lifetime. "Blood, and blade...my my you truly have been seeing quite a bit of people I take it." His eyes gleamed in interest. "Whether it be sorrow, grief and vengeance; I hear it, people say, actions cry out against words." He blinked now gazing up with a thought in mind. He thought as to whether to ask or to remain silent. "W-Well mindsets differ perhaps, but I cannot truly picture someone even in these times everyone should consider living, or dying. With that in mind; this isn't some dream where we awake to the morning sunrise as though nothing had ever happened." His gaze fell a bit at the thought. "Trust, love, and the need. It's what unites people in times of trouble; the goal to dig out of the issue. But alas; over time what will happen people might forget the cause and grow blind to reason. Should this drag on much longer I fear-by then people will forget, run, or dive to depths of no return. A concern that his been on my mind for quite a while-"

( Rosestar Oh great! Auransky Yeah I think you're right. I usually will try to take time off when I notice key players are away but I'm really etching to get to more plot arcs.) Having using the remainder of about an hour and a half, Selena had been mediating and focusing most of her powers on a single, translucent gem that lay on the table in front of her. Due to the recent storms, there had been a ever so slight shift in the electric fields, giving her the idea that maybe, just maybe, she could conjure some amount of lightning into the gem in front of her. It wouldn't be much, hypothetically, but it would be something. Once again, he didn't rush the walk. Lucas spent the first few minutes of it swearing loudly and unapologetically for two reasons. One, no one was around to hear the foul language, and two, it distracted him from the poor mood he had unintentionally put himself in. By the time he was back at the cottage, he was in a somewhat better mood (not that he would admit to being in a bad one). He silently walked inside and sat on the couch, not really sure what to say to his sister.

(Hey guys, just letting you know I might not be on for the next week or so. The election in the US is terrifying right now, and depending on who wins tonight I'm going to be in major emotional shock. I'll try my best to be on but apologies in advance if I'm not.)

(Okay Feather. Thanks for letting us know ^^ I'm sorry you feel this way about the election, but I completely understand. I completely broke down looking at my absentee ballot two weeks ago because of the presidential race.)

A concern that his been on my mind for quite a while-" She blinked at his first comment, her gaze seeming to go distant even though they still met his. "Many. More than I would have had I stayed enthroned to my kingdom, I believe." Her hands seemed to curl into slight fists that trembled as thoughts and memories flashed into her mind. "Your concerns are heard, and are mine as well. However, you must know this war is being fought on broken trust. Not only was my family betrayed, but my kingdom and people were vastly betrayed and torn. I hope that one day I'll be able trust others as much as I did in my past life, but for now, I will keep my distant to a certain extent. I will try to trust you all in some degree, as stated before." Her gaze flickered behind him before returning. "You'll have to excuse me now, my generals need my attention and I'm afraid I've strayed from my duties for longer than they expected." She bowed once more before walking around him and keeping her posture pulled together with the same edge of confidence and coldness that she did before. Auransky

Hearing the light sound of the door opening on her right, Selena kept her focus on the gem in front of her as small flashes of gold and blue lashed inside both the gem and her eyes. For a brief second, a bright blue overwhelmed the gem as if it has been struck by some energy before shattering the gem entirely. A tiresome sigh escaped from Selena as she leaned back into the couch. "It always ends like that. I can never hold the energy long enough to control it or even understand how to keep it stable." ((Oh whoops)) featherlegRowlin paused in silence taking her words into much thought. Someone who says to trust yet not trust. Times were indeed tough, he could agree, but even then it was such a contradicting statement. He wanted to ask for more emphasis but he knew it was not his place to do so. He nodded in simple understanding. "Aye-truly my apologizes for holding such a fine young lad o stature with such a lowly knight as myself." He stated with a slight bow. "Truly your generals wish for the best, and only the best; and for that may their judgements follow deeply into the consideration of a brighter future." He tilted his head slightly with a gaze of slight concern. "Nonetheless; keep a weary eye, even those closest prove to be the most deadliest." He warned then lastly dismissed himself as he seen her walk off.

(It's all good Rose ^^ ) AuranskyHe could prove useful...an adviser, perhaps? A voice questioned in her head as she made her way into camp. If that's what you believe would aid us in this battle, then I'll consider it. She thought back as a few of her generals approached her, asking what should they do next. "Start a patrol and begin to secure the perimeter of this village. We need to ensure our troops are safe for the next few days as we wait out this storm. In the meantime, make sure everyone is camped in one of the houses here. Setting up tents might give away our position so let's use the terrain and village to our advantage." The four generals nodded in unison and then went off in their own directions to start their duties. Letting out a small sigh, she entered the building that was secured for her. Closing the door behind her and making sure no one was loitering outside, she removed the harness that held her sword and then the armor under it, leaving her just in her standard clothing. Maybe I can get some sleep tonight. She thought hopefully as she set her armor on the table that was near a reconstructed fireplace with her sword and harness next to it, glad she could finally be alone in her thoughts.

(every freaking day, and I have to take a chemistry class every semester. I'm a forensic science major with a chemistry minor at no additional credits so yay chemistry. I think some of the issue is that I haven't had a chemistry class since sophomore year of high school and we didn't go very deep. The class was a joke.)

(Ahhh gotcha. Yeah that would seem to be major setback/penalty. I remember disliking chemistry a lot in high school because of how it was taught. I could never understand it but I understood forensics fairly well.)

(Do you think tutoring would help Misty?)

|
Post by Misty on Nov 14, 2016 11:37:00 GMT -5
(It probably would. We have group tutoring sessions where the material is retaught or clarified, but that's based off certain sections of the class. My section isn't one of those :/ And one-on-one scares me for some reason. I think I'm finding it hard because I haven't seen all the material before so it take me longer to do problems. That sucks when it comes to math-heavy tests that were delayed for three or four weeks 🙃 I'm doing fine in the class, but I don't think I'm gonna get the A I wanted.)

"Both Doctor Mori and Agent Calhoun have requested that we re-enter the Swan's Fountain. About two days ago there was a kidnapping at manor of the Cyra family, one of the few remaining contacts and allies the VDA still has within the Arcancis Chamber. The whole family is gone and was taken into the frozen palace almost directly after the kidnapping. We know that one of the members of the family, Oliver Cyra, might still be alive off of a letter we found outside of the palace, but he is the youngest and presumably the weakest since he is not fully trained in defensive magic. As part of the mission, they're requesting we rescue and escort as many of the family members out as possible. However, they are only allowing you, James, and Naomi to enter the facility. There's also one thing I forgot to mention-," She said mainly towards James,"Calhoun's secretary will be joining you all while I observe the camera and radio feeds that will be on your armored suits. Apparently she's extremely well trained for these types of operations. So, what do you think Dalton? Do we accept this?" If we don't, they might turn the whole family, or at least attempt to.Rosestar Rosestar

Lucas remained silent, unsure of what to say in response. 'I'm sure you'll get it next time' didn't seem like an appropriate response in this situation. He gently bit his lip as he looked down at the ground, mumbling under his breath, "I [flipping] suck at this sympathy thing." After a few more moments of silence, he finally spoke louder. "I'm not sure what to say," he admitted with a shrug before letting out a sigh. That seemed to be the theme of recent events - he hardly knew what to say, let alone how to react.

She lightly shrugged as she stared up at the ceiling. "It's alright. We kind of just met anyways, I don't expect us to connect automatically like a brother or sister would. Things take time, that's all there is to it." t least that's what she believed. "Did going to the beach help at all?"

Lucas shook his head once before letting out a sigh. "Maybe, for about two seconds." He shrugged before continuing. "Honestly, my thoughts kept drifting back to things I've done that make me a bad person by all logical definitions. I don't really understand why, either. Maybe trying to lose myself in something isn't the best way to clear my head, or maybe it's because I really am a bad person and I'm lying to myself when I say that I'm not."

Selena listened intently, keeping her eyes fixed on the ceiling and the shadows that flared and flickered on it from the fire that laminated the room. "Well....what did you do then to make you this person?" From what she could remember, her brother was stubborn, but he was also kind. Compassionate. He wasn't cruel or hated by others, at least by her knowledge. /How far gone are you brother?/ She thought as she waited for his response.

had a lot of time to do it." He paused, unsure of how to even begin. This was his personal life, and he was often hesitant to speak about it. "Well, things were fine, for the most part, for a while after I was turned. I ended up in the States, and I fell in love. I was so happy, and we got married. Then, one day, when I was gone, she was attacked. I was home too late to save her, but I did manage to get one of her attackers. She somehow held on long enough to die in my arms. I was a complete wreck after - damn, I didn't think it would be this hard to tell." The last part he mumbled to himself. He paused, collecting himself before continuing. "I was a wreck after, and I didn't really know what to do. The next girl I saw... Well, she became a meal. And for the first time since the loss, I felt like I was in complete control. I didn't feel ashamed for what I did, and I haven't since. I still get that sense of control every time I kill, and I [flipping] love the feeling. After having my world turned upside down twice, I think I'm allowed to get some joy out of being in control of certain situations."

"I....I'm so sorry Lucas." She sat up next to him, her arms resting on her knees as her hands grasped one another. She stayed silent for awhile as she tried to think of what to say. "Killing is....natural for us. I dislike admitting it but it's true. The desire to hunt and target and finish, it's a unstoppable thought. And...while I do agree that having control over that is satisfactory, it's not a real solution." Her eyes closed as she sorted her words. "I think we've both done awful things brother, things we can't take back. That doesn't mean we can't seek redemption."

"Sorry can't change what happened," he mumbled darkly, looking down at the ground as he held his arms against his chest. After his admission, he couldn't find the strength to look at Selena. "Real solution or not, it feels good. It feels right. I needed it to put my life back together, and I need it to feel happiness." Lucas nearly snorted at the idea of redemption. Instead, he shook his head. "I don't think that's an option. There's nothing that can make up for what I've done. Even if there was something, I don't want to give up my sense of control."

Silence filled the room once more before Selena spoke up. "You could live again, you know? There's an actual chance you could go back to being mortal, if you wanted it. The VDA isn't just after the first generations. They're after the antidote, and if they find it, I can get to it first." She turned towards him and took his hands in hers. "You don't have to be like this. You can live a life without these restrictions." The smile she gave seemed rather pained but still hopeful in some way. "I...can't take the antidote if I find it. Any cure for vampirism will never work on me, but it would help you."

"I -" Lucas began before stopping, considering everything Selena had said. "I'm not sure how I feel about that," he said as he looked at her. "One, I don't think I want to know why the hell they're after that. And two, I'm not sure I'd want that. I feel like I'd have to start my life over - again. I'm not sure I want to do that." He paused, glancing down. The entire process of starting over for real and getting a modern education seemed daunting to him. "And I don't want to give up the control I have." As miserable as his life has been at points, it was the only thing he knew and he didn't want to give it up so easily.

Selena nodded as her expression changed to that of a very conflicted one. "I don't want you to feel alone in this Lucas. But I won't stop you from going after a life that's....obtainable. Just keep in mind that I am here for you and that you do have a family, even if it's just me. And I'm sorry I couldn't find you sooner."
