"Just....help him." She then hung up and leaned back into her couch, wiping away the tears on her cheeks. 'You'll thank me later Dalton.' She thought as she closed her eyes, her whole apartment wrapped in red branches of unstable energy. ( Rosestar ) Dalton, meanwhile, was in no mood for guests. He had already fallen into an unwilling sleep, and all he was having were nightmares. No... not quite nightmares exactly. The scariest thing about them were how real they seemed, when that couldn't at all be the case. A younger Aika was everywhere in them. Like she belonged there. He would wake up every half an hour or so, dazed and unsure what had really happening. The dreams were hard to recall at first, but Dalton had the funny feeling they would come back to him soon.

"Well I mean, it wouldn't be trouble at all. But I didn't think anyone else was here?" Lily said, not giving away what she was looking for yet if this guy wasn't going to sell it to her. Honestly, he was at work. What kind of important errand could he be running? And they say my generation is entitled. she thought before scolding herself for judging him so fast. Even if he does seem skittish, that's no reason to-
Who am I kidding? He's acting suspicious. Why? Unlike the car salesman, she had a wonderful poker face. As always, she was the face of cool and collected. "If you really must go, at least point me in the direction of someone who can help me then." she said, deciding to let him off easy. She was right of course. No one else was here except the boss. And Tom would sooner go to the VDA with a sign that said "I'm Hiding Something, Come Find Out What It Is" before he asked his boss to take over. "Um, on second thought, I think I can spare a few seconds. Let's start with the cars over there." He pointed to the cars the farthest from the road. It was also in the shade, even better. Tom was a planner and he already had started to think up one. He was only a good at lying about card or other games, but he could still work with that. He knew he wasn't one to panic, so he calmed any worries he had and cracked a smile (if a bit forced). "This way, my lady," he said, gesturing to the cars. He couldn't lie, but all he had to do was avoid a situation where he had to. Lily smiled, making her way over to the cars breezily, one part of her observing the cars, seeing what would break down easiest for parts, the other watching the salesman. The sudden change of heart only confirmed her suspicions. A few possibilities of what it could be stormed through her mind, though nothing seemed to hold water. Maybe it would just be better to focus on the task at hand. She eyed one of the older models. It looked like something that would still work, and would probably go for cheap, though she wouldn't be surprised if it was missing a part or two. Maybe the radio? A window or two? She could work with that.

(Better than I was earlier. I took a mental day off from class and such but I can assure you and anyone else here I'm better now! Alright cool cool, next day then.)
Drained. She felt drained. Like whatever life force she had was being pulled from her, like breath being punched from her stomach. She didn't even need to breath, and yet she felt the necessity to. Her brain felt...fuzzy. Like she had spent hours studying. 'Maybe......' Reaching towards her heart, she closed her eyes and focused, string laced between her fingers. With a few deep breaths, a slow warmth, like that of kindred flames emitted from somewhere far but within a living proximity. Aika nodded to herself before taking her hand away, taking away the string and getting out of bed to start her day.

(Good for you! Mental days certainly go unappreciated. I'm glad you're feeling better.)
What was ringing? Dalton felt his hand reach out for his phone alarm, trying to hit the snooze. His head rolled, eyes cracking open, only to find everything was fuzzy. Where did his glasses go? Slowly, achingly, he began to look for those as well, before the ringing interrupted again. What was it? Surely, it couldn't be the doorbell.
It felt like hours had passed by the time he had gotten to the door. He still hadn't found his glasses, but he didn't care. If anything, it was probably some package he ordered. Something dumb. When he opened the door to find a blurry vision of his brother, Dalton was almost sure he was still dreaming. "Surprise little bro!"

(Aw well thanks for your support! Yeah, it feels nice recover from what happened earlier.)
It took about an hour to tidy the place up. She hadn't really changed the placement of things since yesterday, mainly due to pull to feed. Thank goodness she had had Elizabeth create the pocket in her couch for her last year. Once that was done, she readied herself for work. Hopefully her plan from last night had worked out in her favor.

"Zeus?"
"The one and only! Man, you look worse than I thought. Sit down, I'll make you mom's chicken soup." Zeus waltzed in, dropping his suitcases by the rarely used hat stand near the door. "Sit!" He exclaimed when Dalton didn't move. "Don't make me come over there."
"...You already came over here. Why-why are you here?" Dalton said faintly, trying to figure out what was going on.
Gently, Zeus picked up Dalton's glasses from the table in front of the couch, and put them back on Dalton. "Someone tipped me off. Said you were mucho sick. Now sit down. You don't have to worry about dumb tough fronts with me, I've seen you in way worse situations," he said, guiding his brother to the couch.

While it wasn't raining anymore, it was still freezing. Aika wasn't use to this weather, especially in Spring. Sure, she had spent years in colder climates like Russia or even Greenland, but those were years ago. With one cardigan, a full winter jacket, and a huge scarf tied around her neck, she started her walk towards theadquarters. Hopefully James will have an update of sorts. I should probably see Doctor Mori first before anything.

"I told him not to worry about me," Dalton mumbled, assuming it was James. Maybe there was some merit to what Zeus was saying though. The two of them always took care of each other when they were sick, so their mom wouldn't have to miss work. Not that he was grateful for James overstepping his boundaries. He was, however, grateful for the chicken soup.
"Nah, wasn't James." Zeus called from the kitchen, already begining to make the meal. "Some girl."
"A girl?"
"Yeah, didn't say her name."
"Aika." Dalton whispered to himself, mind wandering back to those dreams.

(Oh is Dalton going to question how she was able to contact him?)
Normally it took about thirty minutes to get to headquarters from her apartment on foot, but with the lack of pedestrians on the sidewalk it actually only took fifteen. Stepping into the main lobby of the VDA, she was met with the warmth of the buildings interior. If there was one good thing about working here at all was the fact that everything was well ventilated here. Heading straight for her teams office, she removed her coats and scarf and bundled them altogether to be placed on her desk.

(Okay, he's less of a pain in the butt. Yeah... It's my first hurricane in 11 years (I think), and I'm close to where it could make US landfall. What freaks me out the most about the storm is that some of the computer models showing that it could make a loop and hit the state a second time.) "I guess," he said with a shrug, sounding a bit unsure about whether he actually wanted to go. "Yeah," Lucas then said with more certainty in his voice.

Selena nodded as she gently took his hands in hers. Instantly a glyph appeared around them in a haze of orange and pink, and with just a whisper they then stood in a field of flowers with the smell of ocean air coasting around them. Letting go of his hands, Selena took a step back to let him take in the scenery. They were now by the coast, on top of a cliff side valley it seemed like with endless pine trees surrounding them. A medium sized cottage was set behind Lucas as well as a stable and some sort of workshop. The only thing missing from this picture was any view of the city. "Will this suffice?"
(I think it's good though that he still is. It is a core part of his character right? Well I hope you're safe. I've heard the local governments in hurricane cities/states are trying their best to evacuate. Hopefully people are listening and either doing or attempting to do so.)

(Yep ^^ He wouldn't be himself if he wasn't stubborn. It was no big deal for the area I was in. I was pretty far inland, and it wobbled to the east when it was parallel with me so we only got tropical storm force winds instead of the hurricane winds we were predicted to get. We didn't even lose power.)
Lucas nodded once as he pulled his hand out of hers so he could look around. He did a quick 360 to take everything in before speaking. "It's been a while since I've been to the ocean," he said as he closed his eyes and thought back to the last time he was at the water. "Things were different them. I didn't have to worry about getting in trouble." He then opened his eyes and turned to face Selena. "So where exactly are we?"

"About three days out from Embra. The closes city to us is Lauzuin and it's about a day's journey there. This is where I live." She said contently. "The beach is about an hour away and there's a hiking trail you can take to get there. Beautiful beach, a shame no one goes there." Most of the last sentence was said just out of thought as she headed towards the cottage. "Built this place myself. Took a few years but it was rather rewarding to see everything complete."

"So we're pretty much in the middle of no where," Lucas concluded, taking one last look at the scenery before following Selena toward the cottage. He found the scenery peaceful, but it also unsettled him. The last time he had lived in a peaceful setting... He shook his head as he pushed aside that thought. The calm hadn't worked for him, so of course he turned to an adrenaline-fueled lifestyle. "Seems like a nice place, though. But I don't think I'd ever be able to live here."

Zeus said, placing a bowl of soup in front of Dalton. "You made that quick," he blinked, rubbing his eyes for a moment. "Bro, you've been asleep the whole time. You're really out of it. Come on, drink up!" Zeus nudged him. "Or spoon it up, I don't care. Just eat."

Not even a few minutes later, James hurried into the office, out of breath and hair still messy from sleep. "Sorry, sorry," he said, not seeming to realize Aika was even there and was more apologizing out of habit. Only when he sat at his desk did he seem to notice her. "Hey Aika," he said, blushing slightly.

"Maybe going to the beach would suit you better? The waves there are rather intense during this hour." With a wave of her hand, the chandelier and the few lanterns that were around in the room flamed to life. "The only thing I couldn't build was a generator. Electricity seems to be one of the few elements I struggle to maintain control over. I have yet to find a Mage or witch within the city that can teach me as well, so fire will have to do." She dropped down onto a dark blue couch that was pushed against one of the windows near the door. "You can hunt and do whatever you want around here. Last time the VDA was anywhere near here was ages ago, and any files on how to get here were destroyed." MistyAika watched the scene in front of her in both confusion and amusement. "Everything alright James?" She asked with her brow raised, her out wear already tucked into her desk. Rosestar

"Maybe," Lucas said with a shrug, turning his head to look out the window in hopes that he was looking in the general direction of the beach. "Well, I'm sure you'll be able to master it." He had more faith that she would be able to master electricity than he would be able to master his powers. He snorted and shook his head at the mention of hunting. He was not a fan of hunting animals (which was probably the main reason he feared the VDA). "And you're sure about that?" He asked, now somewhat concerned. "I don't want any trouble from them."

"Yeah, fine, just didn't sleep too well last night." James sighed, trying to tame his messy hair. "Zeus called me in the middle of the night, wanting to make sure that he had Dalton's address right after he moved last year. Guess he's coming up while Dalton is sick," he shrugged, knowing it wasn't much explanation.

"Thank you." Her tone lightened as she grabbed a few books that were piled on the side table next to the couch. "I'm positive. There's two barriers set around this area. Anyone without magic in their blood or a still heart cannot enter through the second. However, the first is essentially limbo to humans. I cannot dispel either since the magic used to place them is rather ancient. You'll be able to see the barriers if you search for them." MistyAika nodded as she sat on the corner of her desk. "Oh, well good to know someone's watching after him. I don't think I've had the opportunity to meet him. Is he anything like Dalton?" Rosestar

Selena's explanation calmed his worry, so he nodded once. "I'm not sure I wanna go searching for them," Lucas mumbled, turning his head once again to look out the window. "Still, it's reassuring that they can't get in here." At the same time, it also sucked because he wouldn't be able to hunt humans while at the cottage.
