A week or two ago, the official Warriors Facebook group posted that the first series is getting audiobooks, and they had 4 readers to vote from.
(I voted for #1, which I recognized as Veronica Taylor - the reader of the Omen of the Stars audiobooks, and the voice of Ash Ketchum for the first 8 seasons of Pokemon.)
The vote is now over, and the winning actor is MacLeod Andrews (#3 of the four options). The audiobooks have a scheduled release date of 10/10/17.

Veronica Taylor would have been interesting, but ahh well. Either way, I'm surprised it took this long for the original series to have audiobook versions.

They just had clips numbered 1, 2, 3, and 4 - I just happened to recognize Veronica Taylor's voice for #1. When they posted the results, they said it something like "your new audiobook narrator is MacLeod Andrews (reader #3 of the four clips)", but didn't say who the others were. #2 was a woman with a very similar (though less Ash Ketchum-y) voice, and #4 was another man. |

I was actually hoping to see Veronica Taylor get the audiobook for the original series (I had recently been listening to the omen of the stars audiobooks and found them to be an alright listen) but I hope the guy who got it does a good job :0

I listened to the samples, but I didn't vote, because I generally don't get audiobooks. I hope he does a good job, though.

I am a big fan of the audiobooki. I was rather disappointed that OOTS 5 and 6 did not get one. I was so looking forward to it... Now we will have 1dtvseries in audio format. That's awesome. I hope they do all the books which haven't got one  |
