Inara grunted as if the push had hurt her. She even drifted away as if he had managed to shove her away. It was a familiar dance they had done before. Not under their father's eye. No, this was their thing, not stained by training or any other harsh memory. On their break days, they would often run and play, just like pups they were. It didn't matter if she was being groomed by the alpha or if he was groomed to be the beta. They could do anything. Her heart soared at the memories. She playfully snapped as him before swerving away. Slowly, she came to a stop at the creek. Her breath was coming out in short bursts, but not harshly. Just little puffs of a good run. She shook out the water that had fallen from the trees out of her fur. Even if it had been a short jog, Inara figured they should rest at the creek. She didn't want to tire out too much and she didn't feel like she should leave too far from the pack house. With a huff, she fell dramatically to the ground. She slowly reached out her front paws and dipped them into the water. -- Layla looked over at Hazel, in a bit of shock. It was a nice offer. However, Layla had mixed feelings after Amanda spoke about her pack. They seemed dangerous if Amanda had to go to such lengths to avoid them. She was a bit unsure about having this girl near the house. Amanda's pack could come and try to attack her. A dangerous thought slipped into her mind. She could lead her old pack back to the pack house. Layla shook her head and looked away from the pair. No, Amanda may be someone who Layla just met, but she didn't seem like the type. Amanda was just trying to survive like the rest of them. A small grove in the forest wasn't too much to give, especially for a werewolf in need. At least this way, Layla could bring food to the women. She grinned at her idea as she stepped out of the forest. As they walked on sidewalk, Layla scented the air. Her body tensed as she caught an odd scent. A couple of weres had passed through, but their scents were too light to identify. She glanced around. They were a block away from the movie theater, so she assumed it was a few of the pups. No harm. Besides the excess of ranger cars, nothing seemed out of place. She huffed, pleased. Amanda's words caught her attention and she cocked her head, rather like a dog. "Why? Do they fear something in the forest?" She asked, looking over at Amanda. "No more like a tradition for all mountain werewolf packs to never go into the forset something about if a member goes into the forest their viewed as deserters." Amanda explained as the walked again.

At first, Inara was confused and very surprised. She would never admit the latter. She just had no clue what had just fell into the water. She scrambled up in an attempt to get away. She blinked and cocked her head when it was her brother popping his head out of the water. She felt a bit bad for not warning him, but he seemed unharmed. Plus, his baffled expression was priceless. Inara burst out in what had to be a wolfish laugh. The gruffs and huffs coming how of her couldn't be stopped. She trotted into the water as well. Her tail wagged slightly as the cool water hit her legs. Once the water brushed her belly fur, she stopped. Once she deemed the water acceptable, she sent a small splash towards him with her front paw as a small sorry.
(Ah, sorry for the short post)

Form; Jay Winters - Male(He/him) - 22 - Normal Jay, unlike his twin brother Alex, is very strong in both Wolf and Human forms. In Human form Jay has silvery white hair, dark brown-green eyes and a strong chest and frame. He doesn't have the strong legs like his father did, but he has his strong upper body. Usually he wears dark blue jeans and a t-shirt, but he will occasionally change his wardrobe. In his wolf form, Jay has dark brown eyes and the strong frame he has in human form. His parents, father a Eurasian Wolf and mother an Arctic wolf means Jay has a strong frame and has silvery fur with darker tones in some places. He is not a strong runner but he is a good fighter. In all essence, Jay has a strong sense of pack and also a strong connection to his brother Alex. He wants to also help ire the the pack how he can, since he also has a crush on Isara. He doesn't have a job, but he does a lot of hunting when needed as well as working around the pack house. He is good with tools and is also a hard worker but he has a bit of a jealous streak. He is also prone to be combative and also fight when it comes to some subjects. History: Jay and Alex were born ten years before they joined the pack after their parents gave them to the pack in order to protect other werewolves and haven't been seen since. Relations: Alex's Brother, crush on Inara. Other; Normal rank, but wants to possibly be beta or even alpha one day.
Form; Alexander "Alex" Winters - Male(He/him) - 22 - Normal Alex, unlike his twin brother Alex, is very thin and lithe and has strong legs and a body built for running. He has dark brown hair, almost black, with a silver streak just above his right ear. In wolf form, Alex is built much like an arctic wolf but with slightly shorter fur and he is nearly black-furred, with a lighter belly and a silver streak beside his right ear. Personality-wise, Alex is much more techy than his brother and even has a job in a nearby town, working with technology and such. He is very kind and often helps others with technology problems or any light work needed. He is also trying to get the pack updated with newer technologies, believing that would be one of the ways to help the pack survive and remain strong. He is very tight with his brother and the two of them can form an inseparable bond and get things done. He can be a bit shy at times and he is also a bit nervous when confronted with newer challenges, but will work as hard as is needed. HistoryHistory: Jay and Alex were born ten years before they joined the pack after their parents gave them to the pack in order to protect other werewolves and haven't been seen since Relations: Jay's brother. Simon let out a low growl when he heard the wolfish laugh, although the growl was more half-hearted than anything. Honestly he was a bit amused, too, but he just felt like letting out a gruff noise instead. He saw the small sorry, and he tried to let out another huff and as his little piece of "revenge" he leapt up and let his body fall back down into the water, basically soaking his sister so she'd be as wet as he was. He popped his head out of the water, letting out an amused noise as he looked at his sister, realizing they were acting like children- or pups- at this point. His tail wagged in the water, creating ripples around them.

Inara let out a small whine at his small growl. She wagged her tail, hoping to have not actually hurt her brother's feelings. In complete honesty, Inara did not foresee what would happen next. It took until Simon was airborne for her to put the picture together. She yipped before turned her head away from the splash. She whipped her head around to glare at her brother who looked way too pleased with himself. She let out a playful growl and dug her paws into the bank. She gave one last glance at Simon before shaking out her pelt. Droplets of water, shining in the light, flew everywhere.
She then turned and shout out the water before anyone could retaliate. Before reaching the tree line, she turned and barked. There was no way he could reach her here. She was sure that not even the largest splash could reach her.

SO SORRY FOR NOT BEING ON. had unexpected family pop in. they'll be here til thursday, so i'll be a bit poofy!!] hazel ruth janna Hazel couldn't help hut breathe a small sigh of relief when Amanda assured that her old pack probably wouldn't enter. She didn't wsnt to say it, but she knew their pack wasn't super huge or anything, and that an attack could be devastating. She smiled slightly as Layla and Amanda spoke, thinking.
Her smile faded, however, and she slowed to a stop, pulling Layla to a stop beside her. She looked around apprehensively, taking a deep breath, eyes narrowing and more blue edging into them.
"Hmm..." was all she said, before she shook her head, starting to walk again. "So sorry, thought I found an old friend," she lied, though her grip tightened a little on Layla's arm. This was too many new weres for her liking, no matter how nice Amanda seemed.

Alright well I'll do my starter and I can hop in with someone))
Jay was currently working on fixing the creak in his bedroom door, while Alex sat nearby with his phone on, and trying to fervently get his brother to follow his instructions he had up on the screen. "Jay you need to take the hinge apart!" He said as he watched his brother, who clearly wasn't heeding his advice and just stubbornly doing his own thing. Despite being smart and usually knowing what he was talking about, he often didn't think that his brother knew what he was doing.
Jay rolled his eyes as he pushed the pin up from one of the door's hinges. "Bro do you know how long that would take?" He asked, glaring over at his brother. "This is easier and less difficult." He said, taking his can of spray oil and lightly spraying it into the hinge before tapping the pin back into place. He then stepped back and moved the door some, and there was no more creaking. Looking back at Alex, Jay chuckled. "See? Easy." He said.
Alex rolled his eyes and huffed at his brother. "Let's just go get something to eat." He muttered, getting up and then walking to the kitchen with his brother following him.

Today was dubbed late spring cleaning day at my house, so sorry to be gone.)
Inara tried to leap out of range, but was caught by the droplets. She yipped in mock outrage as she felt her pelt become soaked again. She trotted a couple feet away before shaking out her pelt again. The spot she picked was perfectly in the sun and she couldn't help but to stretch. A wolfish grin grew on her face as she felt the warm warming her wet fur. She did a small shake afterwards and realized how relaxed she was. It had been a while since the alpha had some fun. Even going outside to just enjoy things was a rarity. Spending time with someone in the pack while outside, she would have thought it impossible. If someone had told she would be spending the day with a brother and not wanting to hide, she would have laughed at them. Now, she was glad. She tail tip wiggled a bit.
She looked over at her brother and woofed softly. Then she cocked her head. It was the common way of asking what do you want to do? She would happy out in the sun for a bit longer. Though, if Simon was tired, she would be happy to go back.

Layla was on edge after the abrupt stop. After meeting Amanda and scenting the faint scent of weres, she was feeling closed in. Even after Amanda's reassurance that her old pack would never set foot in the forest, she still felt a bit threatened. Not by the pack, but just by the number of people threatening her pack. There wasn't many people trained or talented in fighting. They could easily be taken down if the numbers were large enough, or if they were picked off one by one. This was her home now. Losing it would be devastating for her. Just the idea had panic rising to her chest. Unknowingly, she was clutching her dress with her free hand. She could tell her packmate shared the same mounting worry. She looked towards the forest, hoping to calm herself.
Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a couple following them. The wind had died down just long enough for Layla to pick up the scent of werewolf. Not just any werewolf either. Their scent was much more strongly wolf rather than human. The scent was the trademark of rogues, but she caught a familiar scent mixed in. These were the two who started it all. they had changed their appearances, but the scent couldn't lie. They were the two who declared themselves the new alphas after saying Inara was unfit to lead. It was just pure luck them and their small group of followers were chased off. They posed a threat no one should scoff at. So, as much as Layla wanted to fight them, she knew she couldn't put the other two in danger.
"Let's go this way," She said, talking an immediate turn and crossing the street.

Simon let out a wolffish chuckle at his older sisters outrage, yipping in amusement as she scrambled away. He followed her suit when she layed in a patch of sunlight in an attempts to dry herself off. The black wolf limped over to her and settled down, panting happily.
Honestly he was already beginning to tire, it was obvious in how he was panting and how the bright glimmer began to die in his golden eyes. But he didn't want to go back, not yet. He'd always been the stubborn one, the one who pushed himself to his limits and ended up being carried home because he took it too far. It was just in his nature, he supposed. At the question he let out a soft huff, wanting to continue despite his tiredness.

Inara huffed. She really hoped she wasn't going to have to carry her brother home. Sure, she could, but that didn't mean she wanted too. She didn't like the idea of having tired and sore limbs in the morning. She could only hope a rest in the sun would help him gain back his energy. Not that she was complaining about the sun part. She loved sitting in the sun and would often stay in the sunniest spot in the room. So much, her packmates once called her a cat. She didn't care too much about that. She was more offended when someone would try to take her spot. So, slowly she set herself down right next to Simon. She stretched her front paws out before laying her head on them.
She let her eyes close slowly as she relaxed. Their scents were mingled by now. His cinnamon scent melded with her apple to create something like an apple pie. It was nice, she decided. She had to stop her tail from moving. Their bond may not be completely repaired, but it was a start.

Simon could tell that Inara wouldn't want to carry him back to the pack house, so he'd have to be more careful while they exercised. He rolled onto his back, stretching lazily as he let the sun warm his soaking wet body, hoping that the dirt would be easy to get off. He could already feel himself drifting off in the warm sun so he flopped back over in an attempts to get himself more awake. The young wolf yawned, peering over at his sister curiously, before stretching again, faint scars showing as he did so on his shoulder and hip from the hunting incident.
He could smell how their scents had begun to mingle again. Of course it'd fade away soon after the two split up again, since their familial bond hadn't been quite repaired yet, but he was happy she seemed to want to. He wondered if it'd ever be fully repaired- Simon wasn't naive, he knew that it would never be the same as it was before, but maybe that was a good thing. He'd become so bitter, and he didn't want that again. So he was hoping for a healthier relationship with his sister.

This was the closest to 'zen mode' the normally stressed alpha was going to get. Out in the sun with someone she trust, the worries and tasks she always had to deal with where far away. No worries and no problem. They were all being pushed to the back of her mind as her pelt slowly dried. Of course, not everything was placed at the back of her mind. She occasionally took small whiffs of the air to check for any threat approaching. The ones who she was mainly checked for were the rogues.
There was nothing on the air, but she couldn't help but to be angry. Because of them, her pack couldn't be free without having to worry about enemies in the shadows. Because of them, she had to check for threats while she was relaxing. Yet, she couldn't do anything. She couldn't loose even more of her pack by going after the rogues. They were small and weak compared to the rogues.
She huffed at how her thoughts turned sour. She opened her eyes and looked over at her brother. On his back and stretching, he looked ridiculous. She huffed in amusement. She almost wondered if they should change back, to speak. But, this was comfy. She didn't really want to move.

Simon blinked at the huff, flipping over onto his stomach so he could look at his sister. He tipped his head to one side, panting lightly as he practically asked her what was so funny. He genuinely didn't get why she looked so amused, he was just stretching. It was something that he never understood about his sister- she always seemed to be amused with the things he did. He shook out his black fur, which was now caked with mud, but he was still trying.
He kind of wanted to talk to her now, but perhaps she didn't want to quite yet. It'd be a good reason as to why they were simply running as wolves rather than humans. Wolves didn't talk. They just used signals and sounds to communicate their feelings, and it was so much easier to communicate that way. He wrinkled his nose a little as he scented around them, finding nothing out of the ordinary, but he caught a whiff of daisies: his least favorite flower.
(I just saw this was based off of Wolf Children, I love that movie! Low key Inaras and Simons personalities are like Ame and Yukis

(Yes! It is one of my favorite movies. I just get sucked in whenever I watch it. Now that you point it out, they are. Inara seems more like Yuki and Simon is like Ame. )
Inara shook her head at his confusion. She was just happy, a little bit overjoyed. Before she gone on this run, she felt like she had been in a big storm. Things were dark and unhappy for the alpha, who felt responsive for the pack and every consequence. She felt a little isolated and flailing under constant stress. Being out here and relaxing, well, that was like seeing the sun peak out from the dark storm. She was happy to see the sun, even if she knew the storm wasn't over. She didn't want to share this with her brother. It seemed too depressing and perhaps a bit overdramatic. She did, however, want to speak to him.
She sat up before changing back to human form. She scratched her shirt and wrinkled her nose at the rough feeling. It was always odd to transition into clothes after having fur. They feel a little unnatural for the first few minutes. Make no mistake, she was grateful their clothes remained on them. This would be horribly inconvenient if every time they had to change, they had to get new clothes. The pack already went through so many clothes from all the new members and odd growth spirts.

Simon let out a soft huff at the shaking of his sisters head, understanding that she was just happy. What a weirdo. He blinked, watching as the Timber wolf sat up and shifted back into the familiar human form of his sister. So she does want to talk, apparently. The teen sat up, following suit and shifting back into a human. He let out a soft groan as he did, hating the tight feeling of his clothing after he shifted. He loved the way his fur felt, and, honestly, if he ever had the chance to stay a wolf for the rest of his life he'd probably do it. He shook himself lightly, trying to get used to the feeling of clothing again.
"I hate clothes." He announced firmly, scowling at the t-shirt and shorts he was wearing. He stretched out his right leg, shifting a little as to hide what was left of his left one, still embarrassed about it. He ran a hand through his dark hair, glancing around the clearing they were sitting in. His clothes were still damp from his little dip in the water, and beginning to stiffen up in mud.

She recognized them immediately, and followed Layla a little more smoothly, pulling Amanda along slightly.
"We uh, have a short cut," she said, not too reassuringly, hastening her pace to catch up to Layla, nostrils flaring slightly. "Hey, relax, okay? The more tense you get, the stronger the smell, remember? We're okay. We're together. No worries," she said, turning a gaze to Amanda, eyes flickering around them apprehensively.
"So, uhm, what's your favorite fruit?" she asked idly to get some small talk going, hoping to keep the calm atmosphere around them in hopes of quelling Layla's anxiety a little bit.

I'm sorry guys. The last couple of days have been busy. )
Inara snorted in agreement. It didn't help they look like they rolled around in the river even in human form. Her hands and feet were covered in mud. She picked at the areas around her fingertips. She frowned as she just managed to smear the mud around. She could already tell it was going to be a pain to get out from under her nails. She moved to look at her clothes. Both her jeans and tee were soaked with water and splattered with mud. They were drying already, but caked mud was hardly better than wet mud. She could already see the disapproving frown or sigh of whoever had laundry duty today.
She looked at her brother. Her eyes glanced down at his leg. Questions she had kept locked up rose within her. Normally, she wouldn't have the courage to speak. Today, she felt brave and ignored her better judgment. She looked back at Simon's face and slowly unclenched her hands. "Do you still want to leave?" She asked. She was foolish enough to ask if he would leave once he got his new leg. She knew he ran away because of their father, but perhaps he just didn't like this pack or had too many bad memories. It was destroy her if he said yes, but she couldn't keep him here. She looked away at the river to calm herself.
---
Tob; Alright. Do you want one of the brothers to jump in with the group downtown? )
---
Layla had to take a couple of calming breathes. Her thoughts flashed back to her times in college. While those were bad memories, they calmed her. She was always an exceptionally fast shifter. Her parents were pleased at first. They called her gifted and talked about her all the time. Though after changing into a wolf at daycare, they quieted down. They couldn't even take her out until her teen years because of it. It was frustrating to her and she envied half-breeds.
Once her thoughts had been collected, She glanced around them. At first, she tried to be discreet. Layla deemed this a useless effort. They already knew the group was here. The real question was if they were on the prowl. She was really hoping they wouldn't notice Hazel here. Anyone would know a good way to cripple a pack was through their healers. There was no doubt in her mind that the rogues would leap at the chance. Lo and behold, The two alphas had split up. The female had crossed the street with them while the male stayed on the other side.
Layla know took a look at their surroundings. There weren't many people on the streets and not many places to hide in. It was then she realized what they were doing. The group was being hunted down like prey. The couple was suppose to chase them to the others were they would be surrounded. She ground her teeth together in an effort to keep calm. She hated being the only one to be so effected by her wolf.

Simon glanced over at her as she started talking, his face paling at the question and he couldn't help but look away. He let out a soft sigh, honestly unsure of the answer to the question. On one hand he was glad to be back- moments like these made him want to stay here and never try to leave again. On the other, though, he still didn't feel like he belonged. He was always considered either Inaras shadow or fathers embarrassment and there was no where in betweened where Simon could just be Simon. He still felt like this, too, even when he came back, and he still felt like he was walking on eggshells with everyone, like they were all expecting him to just... run away again. Maybe that was why he wanted to leave, because they already expected him to.
"Honestly? I don't know. At first I was planning on leaving the moment I could take care of myself again- theres just... a lot of bad memories here, Inni, and I feel like everyones just watching, waiting for me to leave again. Be fathers disappointment one last time. But now I don't know. Maybe I will stay, especially since i know that you don't hate me anymore." He said, using the last part asa a kind of half joke.
