Chapter 12 is now up, plus a reference picture for Minnowpaw. I couldn't get his color quite right, though. I imagined him a little bit blacker than this, but it's as close as I can get the color.  |

I seriously cannot get enough of your writing -- I feel spoiled with all of these updates!! lol
You handled the tone change excellently; lots of stories switch to the serious stuff too fast but your pacing is superb
Also, I'm loving the POV shift to see what Swiftpaw's thinking. He's a good (more serious) balance to Scorchpaw. I'm dying to know more about this omen
EDIT: Also forgot to mention: the reference pics are amazing. really brings the story to life a little bit more

I was a little worried about the tone change. I feared that the story was going too slowly, so hearing you say this makes me feel better on that count! Also, Swiftpaw is my precious son, as you can see by his reference, lol. Although that's unfair because they're all precious to me. ANYWAY, yeah. You'll definitely be seeing more from he and Marshpaw, in later chapters, as well as Scorchpaw, Berrypaw, and even a special POV every once in a while from an unnamed character. Thank you about the reference pictures, too! Espherio is a great artist, and I found that giving a tangible appearance to the cats helped me think a little. ^^ |

I wish I had some more constructive criticism for you but I honestly enjoy reading this story too much to come up with suggestions. (But I'll try my best when I reread for your edits, I promise)
And I totally understand. When I get stuck on a story (or fanfic at least), I go on the warrior cat creator on doll divine. Being able to see your characters is pretty motivating

Don't worry about it! I'd like criticism, but just the fact that you enjoy reading makes me happy, so thank you!
And definitely, lol. Although I have to admit that Ashpath is a pain in the rear to do the concept for. Plus Berrypaw and her white feet.
Heads up, the next chapter has already been planned. Barring any disasters, it'll be up tomorrow night, and it'll be a Marshpaw chapter!

You're making it INCREDIBLY difficult to pick a favorite character. I love them all so much.
AND THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME. I'm seriously so excited to see how you're gonna tie all of these subplots together because they're all so unique and interesting on their own, even from what little we've seen

Well, I just read this all in one sitting, which is a good sign, meant it kept me hooked. I really like the characters, especially Scorchpaw, because he’s honestly just so cute? Like for real, he’s adorable. (Though I think Minnowpaw is my favorite) The plot seemed a little fast at first, but it worked for the story, and it’s definitely getting really interesting now and I’m really curious about Blackstream now. Over all, I really enjoyed it, and I can’t wait to read more. My only problem was that at first it felt a bit too fast, but that seemed to have been taken care of as the story progressed.

Trials Fun Fact: Abelard/Scorchpaw is a purebred Ragdoll cat, and at his full size, he'll be anywhere between 18 and 20 pounds. He has some fancy show cat name, but he wasn't sold to be one, so he only "knows" the name Abelard, since he doesn't have the blue eyes and color points of a show grade Ragdoll. His owner also called him Abe and Abbie. |

but seriously that was an awesome chapter! the switching point of views had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, wanting to know what was going on.. and as always I cant tell yet cx will the next chapter be continuing the conversation or skipping to the gathering to leave us hanging (again!)?

This story is awesome! I read it all at once just now, and I love how it's playing out! At first I thought it would be too similar to the Firepaw plot, but it did not go that way at all. I love how we slowly learn more and more about the characters! Swiftpaw is definitely my fav, tho!

Honestly, one of the things I set out to do at first was to kind of go away from the whole Firepaw plot? TPB was my favorite arc, but I felt like the Erins could have done more with the "kittypet joining the clans" scenario.
Swift is my favorite too, honestly. ^^ Fun fact, the story was originally going to be all from his POV, as Abelard joined RiverClan and the black river omen biz went down. Obviously that changed because I'm having way too much fun using the voices of different characters.
But Swiftsong is definitely my favorite PIC out of the ones shown so far. I tried to make him less naive than Scorchpaw, but less cynical than Marshpaw.

My pleasure! Thank you for writing the story  I'm excited to read more. Yeah, there was a lot more things they could've gotten into with the kittypet storyline. I liked how they did it, but I also found it realistic the way you did it, where you had him sort of tested for a longer length of time before he could properly be a part of the Clan. Interesting fact about the Swiftsong POV -- I'm glad the other characters get some time! |

Yeah, I figured that RiverClan wouldn't be as kittypet friendly as ThunderClan was. That's also why Scorchpaw has been an official RiverClan apprentice for about 4 moons now and hasn't gone to a Gathering yet. Ripplestar is making sure he's proven himself as more than a kittypet before he's introduced to the other clans.
