Pine licked the air before taking in a deep sniff. She was thirsty and desired water. She perked her ears in case any streams were near, but who was to say it'd be safe water? The young female glanced around while checking her surroundings. She could feel the beat of her own heart while birds chattered above. Once she got a whiff of water, her tail wagged as she dashed into the direction.

"Ahh, I see." Bird replied calmly, keeping in her slight surprise that this huge dog was once near Longpaws! Stifling a chuckle, she nodded slowly. "Well, that's unfortunate for you." She added, coming off as more insensitive than planned. He was injured, and she was just casually having a conversation with him! This was unlike her... Maybe living alone to long gave that effect. Fayne gave Bird a reproachful look at her comment about it being unfortunate that he'd been left behind. He gave a low growl before he simply turned away, behaving like an offended yearling.

"So..." Bird looked at him with narrowed brown eyes as she sighed. "I guess you need some help." She guessed tentatively, knowing that if he was proud his pride would obviously be a problem.

Fayne hesitated for a moment, weighing his choices before he nodded, giving a purposefully over-dramatic sigh before he glanced over his shoulder at the slender swift-dog. "I guess I do." He responded, reminding himself that even the wolves of his pack had been willing to accept help from others, especially if they knew that they needed it. Lifting his head to sniff the air, his tail started wagging in relief. "I can smell a nearby stream, would you help me there?" He requested, licking his lips.

"I guess so." Bird replied with a yawn, looking around and sniffing the air. She too smelled the fresh water of the stream, and hoped that it would be clean enough to drink from. It probably was, considering there was no hint of foul smell in the water scent she had picked up. Giving a sharp nod to Fayne, she turned towards the direction of the scent and confidently began to pad over.

Pine's nose twitched as another smell drifted by. Dogs? She wasn't sure if she should turn tail and run, but she decided against it. New friends? She sat and waited. Her tail tapping once, twice, three times.... She didn't want to make it obvious, but she was getting a little excited. She hasn't seen another dog for the longest while. She had forgotten what it was to sleep with a dog at your side.
What if they don't like me, though? Do I continue alone?

Fayne's tail started wagging more at the fact that Bird would help him and at the prospect of finally getting something to drink. He limped after Bird, managing to keep up with her, thanks to his long legs. Upon reaching the stream, he lowered his muzzle to the surface before he started to drink eagerly. He was only vaguely aware that there was a third dog nearby, his ears pricked to catch the other dog's paw steps.

Excitedly, Pine hurried towards the two dogs, but quickly slowed down. She didn't want to seem hyper, after all, hyper could be seen as annoying sometimes. She calmed her racing heartbeat and greeted the two with: "Hello!"
(Sorry for the short post.)

((Oh, don't worry about it! It's fine.))
Lifting his head quickly, the large wolf-dog gave a vaguely startled 'Muff!' before he licked his lips nervously. "Hello." Fayne greeted cautiously, a bit surprised by the friendly greeting as he subtly shifted his position to hide the fact that he did have an injured leg.

Pine was about to say something before she fell and her face flopped into the dirt (alpha material, amirite). Pine, you stupid dog! She hurried up and shook her ragged fur. There was still dirt, but not a lot for it to matter. "Sorry," she said after quickly scratching her ear. "I got a little excited. My name's Pine. What's your name?" It then crossed Pine's mind that she was being to friendly, but it didn't matter at that point. She hasn't seen another dog in nearly a full turn of the Moon-Dog.

((Totes Alpha material. )) Fayne paused for a moment, tilting his head before he gave a low growl of laughter. "Fayne. And this is Bird. She's a swift-dog." He answered, not quite seeming to think that most dogs would know what kind of dog someone was, just by looking at them. His ears twitched before he carefully sat down on the opposite bank. "Are you alone?" He asked cautiously, nose twitching as he tried to pick up any other dog-scents.

Pine did know what swift-dogs were, but she let that pass. Her black-and-white fur smelled of dirt and dirt didn't really have a scent to it. She shook her head to the towering dog and despite his wolfish appearance, she wasn't afraid. Pine wasn't really good at being able to sense danger. "I'm alone. In fact, I haven't seen any other dogs for quite a while. Where are you two heading?" she cocked her head.

Fayne nodded once, letting his tail thump against the ground slowly in relief before he lowered his amber gaze to the stream. "I don't know about Bird, but I'm trying to find my Pack. I got separated during a mud slide and they couldn't find me, so they left." He answered, placing one of his large, mud-caked paws into the stream to clean it off. "If you'd like to travel with us, you'd be welcome to... I'm not used to only having one other dog with me anyways."

"You're kinda wolfish," Pine said. "Do you have wolf in you?" It was a stupid and obvious question, she knew, but she had to ask. She's never seen a wolf before after all, but from the tales she's heard, he looked like one. He was bigger than her and that was really the only thing that scared her. She cocked her head, observing the male hybrid. "What does your Pack consist of?"
(I'm going to pretend this rp takes place somewhere else because I forgot that wolves don't live in Georgia ;0)

((Oh pff! I didn't even know that!))
Fayne nodded again, perking up noticeably. "Yep! Mostly wolf, from what I know. The longpaws that took care of my Pack only really watched from a distance or put thick, heavy collars with weird boxes on us for some odd reason." He answered before closing his eyes in thought. "Mostly wolves and wolf-dogs, though there were a few full-blooded dogs with us. A big black female with long fur and a big white male with fluffy fur and a curled tail, those were the two dogs that got along well with the Pack."

(Actually, I'm just going to pretend there's been some illegal wolf trafficking. Anyway, wanna stop here for tonight?)

(I don't think it really matters how far people get as long as they can keep track. It's just I don't really see Pine and Fayne's conversation going anywhere xD.)

((I'm planning on him deciding to stay with Pine's Pack, rather than rejoin his old Pack. Not sure if they'll find the Pack or not, but if they do, we could possibly use them as a battle sub-plot. If you're alright with that. It's just a suggestion/idea.))

(I can't really see dogs winning against wolves Dx, but if the dogs ever find Fayne's pack, it could be a good turning point for him. I'm thinking about how I can develop Pine into a suitable Alpha.
Have you read any Survivors books?)

YES! I'm currently on A Pack Divided, actually. I'm actually trying to get some ideas from the books.))

(I'll all caught up! Anyway, there was that one tactic Sweet used in Storm of Dogs where she lead a bear into Blade's camp. I actually thinking finding Fayne's pack should currently be the main goal. It would kinda feel like this roleplay had arcs, wouldn't it? c: )

(I find it fun when roleplays have actual plot arcs too c: I'm going to be honest and say I low key ship Fayne and Pine even though they barely know each other.)

((Dude, I am completely okay with that if it becomes a thing. Just gonna say this now, I'm pretty laid-back with this sort of stuff. I guess it comes from I think 9 or 10 years of roleplaying. I'm pretty much fine with whatever, as long as my boy doesn't die.))

(I once was part of a roleplay called Ruse Pack and boy was the creator good at fanart. drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B2jQfLHVexbnYWtKSFowbnNfTDA. I'm sad that it shut down. So far, though, I'm really enjoying this roleplay. I hope we get more members soon. Anyway, why did you name Fayne, Fayne?)
