Mark was just looking around when he felt a boy bump into him. He moved his gaze to the pamphlet that the boy had dropped on the ground. Nervously, he smiled, as the stranger seemed at least friendly. "Uh, don't worry." he gave a weak laugh as he bent down to pick up the boy's pamphlet, and shoved it in the boy's general direction. "I've given much worse first impressions." He paused for a second, pushing up his glasses that had slightly shifted when he had been bumped into. He felt awkward, but at least an opportunity had ran into him so early into camp. Maybe he could become this guy's friend. And then he could at least survive through camp with someone to talk to. Possibly he could be cynical with him? He wasn't very good at interactions. He was thinking way too far into the future, he realised. "My name's Mark Yoo. You're supposed to give people your name when you meet them right?" he said, attempting to seem relaxed, which he was certainly not. Instantly, Mark cringed at his own statement. Hopefully it would be brushed over. He was letting himself get too anxious. It was always that way when he met new people. He'd probably be fine in a day or so. He was typically apathetic.

{omg you're fine! actually crying at how cute Mark is :') }
Mick chuckled at Mark's flustered response to such an awkward run-in. "You're right, my apologies.. My name's Mickey Archibald, but normally I go by Mick." He grabbed his mini guide from the guy's hands and exhaled through his nose ever so slightly. "So what brings you to this glorious camp site? Perhaps it's the abundance of mosquitoes, or even the poison oak next to the cabins that couldn't keep you away." Normally Mick was fairy adequate with carrying a conversation, but he had a feeling that this kid wasn't up for any of his lame jokes that he'd planned to toss up and break the ice with.
Before he could open his mouth again to apologize for his bad attempt at a joke, he noticed that this guy looked a bit hopeful. Without realizing it, Mick felt himself drawn to make Mark count as his first new friend here at camp. There was something about how he presented himself, or even the way the sun perfectly reflected off of his.. No. He's a stranger, let's start with one step at a time, shall we, Mick? Yes. Yes, even if these steps are awkwardly taken toward weird territory.

OOC Text
IC Amy had gone off on her own after her brothers did so. Jamie and Milo went off together, and then Jonathan...well she wasn't entirely sure why he had disappeared to, however that was the least of her concerns as she had decided to go back to her cabin, grab her notebook, and see if any of the beauty of nature inspired her poetry in some way.
And so the girl had entered the cabin, humming some random Disney song under her breath, completely and totally oblivious to the fact that there was another girl in the cabin by then. Amy instead, made her way to her bed, where her bags were stacked up on it, and now quietly singing the same song she had been humming along to, only moments before, she dug her way through the bag, throwing stuff all over her bed-though only on the bed as well, before finally she found what she was after and pulled a small, delicately decorated, green laced notebook with a sparkly blue mechanical pencil clipped on. She let out a grateful sigh of appreciation before hopping off her bed, beginning back to the door, still not yet aware that she wasn't alone.
-
Meanwhile the twins were still outside, Milo was standing there, arms folded as he squinted at the passerbys, all these poor souls, probably going to get brainwashed. Well, in truth he didn't exactly believe that. He did believe that aliens existed, the government was out to get them, and that brainwashing was 100% involved in the public school system, but the other stuff was more of an on going private joke with himself since everyone else seemed to think he was crazy paranoid.
Suddenly Jamie jumped up behind him, putting his hands on Milo's shoulders as he looked around at everyone. Milo glanced over to him with a raised brow. "What are you doing?" He asked rather skeptically, as his twin was always up to some sort of shenanigan and it usually involved him, somehow. Wether he was the victim or the unwilling participant, somehow Milo was always involved.
Jamie grinned in response. "Checking out boys for you. I'm a very supportive twin y'know, and since you're not exactly out at home, I figured, 'hey! What a great time for Milo to get his gay on!' Cause I'm a good twin like that, so I'm trying to find you someone cute," Jamie explained and continued to look around, however Milo had nothing short of a look of utmost horror on his face.
"Oh my G--, Jamie, no!"
Of course it was too late as Jamie had already spotted someone he seemed alright enough, and luckily he was close by, so with another rather evil grin on his face, he pushed Milo forward. "Jamie, yes," he countered as he gave his twin a shove, making him trip in front of the poor unexpecting guy before running off to watch from some bush or something.

Mark was able to give a more relaxed smiled when Mick replied in a friendly manner. He had to hold back a bit of a laugh at Mick's last name. It seemed so noble in contrast to the person that it belong to. Mark's head tilted slightly as he listened to speak, and he ended up chuckling at Mick's lame joke. Mark was one of those people that ended up laughing at most jokes even if he didn't find them that funny. Laughing also seemed to be his natural response to things, so it just seemed easier to do. He liked to think that he had a good humour though. It was something that he prided himself upon when he felt that his intelligence and athleticism were not really up to par with others. Anyone who made the kind of jokes like Mick did seemed pretty sweet though. Inoffensive sarcasm always seemed nice.
After flashing a smile, Mark began to speak. "I don't know if you really want to know, but I'm just here because my parents really want me to become a better person, and like, not sit in my room the whole summer playing video games. And uh, they want me to have friends" He did his signature nervous laugh and continued speaking, not sure if he was rambling or not. "The way you describe it makes it seem welcoming though." He smirked, and went to playing with a bandage he had on his arm (he had somehow scratched it on a nail when he was getting on a bus earlier in the day). He was happy that the guy was being so responsive.
[thank you !! that boosts my confidence;;]

Danny's eyes widened as a bespeckled kid tripped in front of him. "Hey, dude, you alright?" he asked, reaching his hand out. He'd seen this kid with a few others earlier when he had been watching kids enter and walk around the camp, so maybe he could get to be friends with them. He didn't expect he'd see someone so quickly, but it was what it was. Danny inwardly laughed at how the kid had tripped so soon into getting into camp. It made him a bit more comfortable, it being his first year. It meant that others may not be the most comfortable either, even though he realised he was just assuming things about this kid. Deciding to view the objective things about this kid, Danny scanned the boy. He looked a bit dorky, but that was fine. He'd probably be fun to talk to, unless he was one of those people that are really serious about things. He hoped not. "Tripping's not a very good way to start camp, eh?" he laughed lightly, hoping to seem friendly. For him to become outgoing had taken plenty of work in the past.

{aw, no prob! ^^ }
Kendall had plugged in the fan (and was puzzled at the fact that there was an outlet in the middle of nowhere) and was about to turn on the switch at full blast when a girl walked into the cabin, completely oblivious to the fact that there was another person inside. She smiled softly as the girl's initial humming turned into a sweet tune, wondering if she would be her first cabin mate. Before she could hold her tongue to wait for a polite greeting, she panicked once seeing the girl begin to go and blurted out, "That's a nice voice you got there." For some reason the remark came out like a question, almost as if she was unsure she'd even heard the feint sounds of the girl's previous song. In case things couldn't get any more awkward, she threw in a fraction of a smile --which ended up being a quick twitch of the left side of her mouth-- and a small wave. Normally Kendall wasn't too shy around strangers, but she didn't want to scare the girl as much as she probably already did by her remark.
Mick's smiled faded into a look of sympathy. Although he didn't want to admit it, Mick wasn't too crazy about the idea of summer camp either. Granted, his parents didn't make him go, but.. the friends he hung out with in his hometown weren't really the crowd he was looking to surround himself with. Once Mark began to pick at a bandage on his arm, he frowned slightly. At least a video game nerd would be better than a group of washed up turned-druggies. In a wistful attempt to not want to check the bandage, Mick's fingers tapped on his khaki shorts lightly. Instead of commenting about anything else Mark had said, he managed a quick, "What happened to your arm?" before sighing in disappointment. "Heh, sorry. I meant, what kind of video games do you play?" If only he'd brought his xbox, then this would have been the immediate beginning to.. whatever this awkward run-in was.

OOC So I could either use my boy Jamie, as he causes more trouble I'm sure, or Jonathan who probably is my most normal character.
IC Milo quickly dusted himself off, shooting a glare in the direction that Jamie had run off to. However it wasn't like he could sulk long, as well, someone had started to talk to him and he looked over to see who exactly Jamie had apparently deemed worthy. He...well he wasn't ugly but Milo would never give Jamie the satisfaction of knowing what he thought. Quickly realizing he hadn't even spoke yet, he cleared his throat, pushing up his glasses. "Sorry, my brother pushed me over here. He's an idiot sometimes...I don't usually trip. Guess that isn't the best way to make an entrance though, is it?" He asked, cracking a smile before then awkwardly holding his hand out if this guy chose to shake it. "I'm Milo, by the way. Milo Walters...well technically Milo Bruno Walters, if you wanted my full name...which normal people don't, do they?" Shut up Milo, please shut up, this is why everyone thinks you're a weirdo. Well this and the obsession with conspiracies at least. "Anyways..." Milo said and looked down, staring rather determinedly at his shoes. Why was he like this? Why? Milo kind of wanted to just disappear.

OOC I absolutely love how awkward all these characters are. I love them!
IC Any practically jumped out of her skin when someone spoke up and it finally dawned upon the girl that she was not alone. She quickly scanned the cabin over until her eyes landed on the older girl and she smiled shyly, clutching her notebook to her chest. "Oh...thank you. Mom taught me how to sing...I think it helps pass the time," she explained in a rather soft, squeaky voice. She avoided eye contact though, looking down at her feet, feeling a little shy. Amy didn't usually talk to people, she loved her family of course, but otherwise she usually just stuck to herself, so having someone-a stranger, speak to her was more than a little intimidating for the girl.

Mark glanced at Mick's tapping fingers on his shorts, wishing that he had the confidence to wear shorts at the time, and quickly back up at this guy's face. He heard him quickly ask about his arm, but he decided that it would not be important to explain the story about it. It was really lame when he thought about it. Well, Mick probably already thought of him as a loser based on what he had told him, but wouldn't it have been cool if he could've said it was from diving for the ball in some sport? So he remained silent, as Mick asked another question anyways. "I usually play jrpgs and dungeon crawlers, which is pretty lame, but if someone recommends it to me I'll probably play it. I'm not that good at games though, so I usually stick with what I know." he laughed a bit at that. Even though it was one of his hobbies, he usually got nervous talking about video games, as they weren't really something that one would be proud of, like playing football, for example. "Do you, uh like playing stuff?" Talking about games make him wish that the camp would have let him bring more electronics. He could've brought one of his handhold consoles and played that for a majority of his time there. It was nice talking to Mick though. Hopefully he'd be able to talk to him throughout camp.

Danny chuckled inwardly at Milo's awkwardness. This would surely be an entertaining guy in the future. Thinking this, he moved to firmly shake Milo's hand. His father had always taught him that handshakes were important, especially in business. Although this wasn't business, Danny had decided that it was very important to be future-oriented. That's one of the main reasons that he was at this summer camp anyways. As he shook the newcomer's hand, he began to speak, letting his voice sound jovial. "My name's Danny Nelson. Don't worry about saying your full name, man." He smiled once more in order to make Milo feel more at home. "You usually don't trip, huh?" he laughed a little, hoping that Milo didn't view it as mean-spirited. He couldn't help but be amused by this kid's awkwardness. It wasn't a bad thing, it was just nice to see. Somewhat refreshing from what he usually interacted with at home. "Why would your brother push you over here?" he asked, trying to sound demanding. Danny was a pretty curious guy, and even though it could just be typical sibling behaviour, he thought it was always interesting to hear a story. Anyways, people usually could talk for a while if you asked them the right questions, he had found, so in reality, he was doing this kid a favour in order for them to feel more open with each other.

{alright, I'll wait to reply with Kendall then so you don't have to fish for the reply c: }
Mick nodded, taking in what Mark explained like he could talk about this for hours. Other than hiking and sports, which he guessed Mark wasn't that into, he LOVED video games. "Dungeon Crawlers is pretty fun, I think I've played it once or twice with a friend. Ever played a match of classic Call of Duty?" He could get into how much he loved the graphics of Modern Warfare 3, his all time fav, but figured he better not get too carried away.
"Oh, and before I forget! I was thinking of hosting a party by the swimming docks tonight around sunset. There'll be s'mores and plenty of people to hangout with... but you can just hangout with me if you want." Mick bit his lip for a moment, hoping it wasn't too obvious that he wanted Mark to come. Sure, they just met, but how cool would it be to watch the sunset hangout with a few new friends at the docks? Especially if cute girls and boys would be there. Mick lived for his occasional flirting sprees-- not that he'd take any of it seriously.
The thing was, Mick wasn't entirely sure about his sexuality. He had to admit, he loved seeing the occasional supermodel in a bikini, but it didn't compare to the boy-next-door vibe of come boys. In truth, Mick just loved people. He liked surrounding himself with people who made him smile, and what better than to throw a party (with people, duh) and invite the first person to make him smile on campus?

IC Well...he was laughing, seemed amused, and didn't have that vibe of "I need to get away from this guy as soon as possible" so Milo officially looked up from the ground, feeling a bit more...optimistic about this. If anything else hopefully he hadn't already somehow ruined his reputation for all of camp. The universe was out to get him, you see. That was another theory he would firmly believe in. "Oh well, he thought it would be good for me to talk to someone, and I guess he saw you and well, you know the rest," Milo explained with a shrug of his shoulders, not daring to explain the real reason, though it wasn't like he was lying or anything either, just not sharing certain things about the conversation he and Jamie had previously had. Milo was still going to kill Jamie when he saw him again. Honestly, the nerve...actually Jamie was probably watching from somewhere. Milo quickly looked around just to see if he could spot him, though he couldn't. If he was watching, Milo would find him after, and then push him towards some random girl...guy...person, whatever he liked and get his revenge.
