Brutus promptly ignored the microraptor, never haven found time to even acknowledge he existed. Saber nervously moved closer to Gregory at his comfort, then looked up as the queen mother now approached, nose twitching. ((I'll just use her until others want to claim her~)) She scooped talon into her arms, as she was in humanoid form, then eyed up Saber, before turning and walking away. Saber sighed softly, ears flattening against his head. 'That was the cue to go to bed.' He mumbled, looking over at Gregory.

(Okie :3)
If looks could kill, and gods weren't immortal, the queen mother would be dead. The way she acknowledged Saber didn't go unnoticed by Gregory, who twitched his wings. Exhaling deeply, he said with honest kindness to Saber "Get to bed then, and good luck with tomorrow. If I had time to attend your training as well, I would, but my schedule is already busy." He gently butted the cub's shoulder with his head before getting up. With a running start, he was soon up in the air, flying out of the area to who knew where.

((Okay..... I was thinking of maybe skipping perhaps just a few weeks to let the cubs get into their training and age up a bit- I was thinking maybe we could do the fives' 16th birthday? A party/celebration in the hall obvs))

((Sorry for absence!!!!))
Saber silently wandered the bustling hall, his blind eyes catching only shadows and foggy blurs of movement as he walked. He wasn't completely blind- but he sometimes wished that he were, as the shadows could be more of a nuisance than if he couldn't see them. Currently in his humanoid form, his brother Talon had swept up his black mane of hair into a scruffy bun- which strangely suited him, he'd never been the tame one of the litter- and he was dressed in ceremonial robes. Black. Always black- it was the colour of his fur. Of course, being the runt of the litter, despite being the eldest, today's celebrations were not focused on him. It was their birthday- the five cats, children of Fang. As always, he blended smoothly into the background. He glanced up to listen to Talon wandering around as well, the second youngest refusing to talk to anyone who might attempt to start a conversation with him. Saber held in a chuckle at his brother's stubbornness, and instead perked his ears to just take in the sounds of everyone enjoying themselves. He supposed he didn't mind being ignored.

(This came out longer than I expected oops :'3)
It was almost impossible for Aegeus to go somewhere without getting looked at. Now, glances were one thing, but it was quite annoying when others stared, especially if they'd seen each other before. Grunting, he just continued on among the halls, finding someone who hopefully had some manners. As social as he was, he'd never been a fan of large events. He only attended because of who it was for, and because Gregory convinced him to go. Fang's children were the center of attention lately, be it good or bad. From what the messenger god had told him though, not all five children were enjoying the event as much as they should. Aegeus had been lost in his thoughts, until something caught his attention. Looking ahead, he noticed two of the birthday children. Talon and Saber. Raising a brow, he really wasn't surprised at the lack of interaction present in both young men. Knowing Talon wasn't a fan of talking much, he decided to approach Saber instead. Doing so carefully, coming up on the royal's side, he spoke casually with a semi-baritone "What has you away from your own festivities, Saber?" In sense that the boy was not fully interacting with anyone else that Aegeus had seen. He was aware that people not paying him attention also had to do with it, but it was also the Saber not seeking anyone out that had to do with it. After asking his question, he just proceeded to walk patiently with Saber, taking time to look among the crowds enjoying themselves, none seeing fit to address the runt as he passed. No, almost everyone was drawn to the stronger, more "able" heirs.

Saber jumped slightly as he was approached on his side, and blinked over in the direction of the voice, frowning slightly as his head tilted upwards. His nose twitched a little as he struggled to recognise the scent, but then he remembered him from his training sessions. 'Oh- hello. They're not really for me.' He softly responded. 'They're mainly for Dagger. It can't be helped... I'm small, and I haven't had the correct training to be of any use to the crown.' He finished, walking very slowly, each step placed with practiced precision so as to not fall. Although blind, he walked with more princely grace than any of the children, simply due to his years of forced caution to his surroundings. '...you don't feel as though you want to be here.' Saber observed, looking up at the God. 'Have you someplace else to be?'

"That's like saying your birth should not be celebrated," Aegeus said simply "I'm not your mother, but I think it should be so that all children need to be brought into notice during an event such as this." He listened to Saber speak of how he was unfit for the crown, and he tilted his head. "I remember when leadership was handed to the eldest son. Whether he was unfit or not, everyone believed in birthright. Now pantheons, or any organized group really, believe the strongest child deserves the throne, be they a year or a century younger." Did Aegeus agree with such methods? No. "All this new way of selecting kings and queens causes is much more fighting and bloodshed than will ever be needed." He blinked once when his own reason for attending was addressed. "Do I have somewhere else to be? Nowhere important. I just find this whole event rather amusing, considering, as you said, how a celebration meant for five is really just paying attention to one. Humans sometimes have more manners and empathy than their gods." Glancing down at Saber, Aegeus thought for a moment before deciding "The more you deny yourself the crown, the worse a chance you have of achieving it. Before, not all kings and queens were sought after because of their strength."

Saber tensed, a ripple of frustration spiking through him towards Dagger. He frowned, pale pupils slitting slightly, but the irritation was swiftly washed away. Despite his breed, despite his heritage, and despite the fact he was part of the primal pantheon; Saber was a remarkably patient and gentle person. He wasn't often pushed to anger. Instead, he gazed up at the mammoth. 'I don't mind.' He softly said. 'I wouldn't be able to care for you all correctly anyways; I am blind, sickly, and weak. It's safer for you all to have a strong leader.' He looked away, brushing a strand of hair from his face.

"What're you talking about, runt?" Dagger asked, rather rudely shoving himself between Saber and Aegus. He stood a good few inches taller than his older brother and was much, much more muscular. He stared down at Saber, seeming to smirk, before looking up at Aegus. "You should beware of who you speak to. You don't want to be with the wrong people. It'll put you out of favour with those in charge." He lifted his head, before slowly stalking away.

"I shall say the same to you, Dagger," Aegeus said with a raised brow "It isn't wise to push your weight around as such." Watching the younger brother leave, he looked unimpressed. Turning back to Saber, he tilted his head. "Your brother lacks something you don't. A sense of respect. That already makes you better than him, strong or not." If things continued as they were, the Primal Pantheon was in for a vicious ride of feuding and, most likely, bloodshed.

Saber flinched weakly away from Dagger, immediately looking in a different direction from him with a soft sigh. He waited until he'd said his piece, then warily looked up to listen to him walk away, before looking up at Aegeus. '...sorry.' He murmured. 'That was my fault.' He paused at the mammoths words, then blushed slightly and ran a hand through his hair. 'And- and I wouldn't say that respect makes you strong.' He softly added.

"I never said it made you strong," Aegeus chuckled "But, it does make you smarter. Not many realize it, but smarter is better than stronger. A predator's strength is nothing if they can't catch their prey, who was smart enough to hide or climb away." With a sigh, he looked ahead again. "If Dagger was not Fang's son, I would've whapped him over the head and keelhauled him by now." Being one of the few who paid Saber actual attention, he saw how Dagger bullied him, and wasn't exactly a fan. "Nothing he does to you is your fault. Remember that at least."

'A predator who is smart.' Saber murmured lowly, his head slightly tilted. He then gazed up at Aegeus, a small smile on his lips. 'Thankyou, Aegeus.' He said, silently tucking it into the back of his mind to ensure mammoths would be treated with the utmost respect. He'd find a way.
'Is this the eldest son I've heard not so much about?' Came a soft, sweet voice from behind them. Saber jumped slightly and turned, gazing curiously at the shadowy figure before him. Unlike the rest, this one dazzled him; a gorgeous spectrum of golds and reds. '...yes. My name is Saber.' He softly replied, holding out his hand. 'Eris... I'm of the Greek pantheon. It's a pleasure to meet you, my prince.' She responded, taking his hand and curtseying. She wore a luscious red gown that flowed beautifully over her curvy, tanned body. Freckles dotted her shoulders and nose, and her hair was a beautiful golden hue. Saber tilted his head. 'Eris.' 'I'm not very well known.' She nervously laughed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. She blinked light green eyes up at Aegeus, offering him a dazzling smile, looking very enamoured by his side. 'And you must be Aegeus. It's an absolute pleasure to make your acquaintance.'

Aegeus had been studying the other deities until sometime what caught his attention sin. The tall man looked down at Eris, nodding his head once and saying politely "And likewise to meet you, Eris. Gregory has actually mentioned you before, if you've met him." He couldn't remember when, but the messenger god had at some event or other, after visiting the Greek Pantheon some decades ago. "What brings you here?" he asked casually "To celebrate Fang's children, I assume?" That's why most attendants were there at the moment. Pantheons only really crossed to another for celebratory occasions, or to butt heads. And there wasn't reason to be tense that day, that anyone knew of.

'Yes...' Eris responded, smiling softly. 'The children of our forebears should be celebrated.' She glanced at Saber, smiling warmly. 'They are our future, after all... and what a bright one I'm seeing.' Saber blushed very deeply. 'I'm afraid I won't be taking the throne, ma'am.' 'Oh?' She blinked at him, then shook her head, smiling. 'Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon drew straws.' She chuckled, running her thumb over the back of his hand. 'And there is more than one way to take power for the throne.' Saber tilted his head, very intrigued. '...but you don't seem the type to try and kill your own father or brother.' Saber tensed, then nodded. 'Afraid not, ma'am.' 'Eris, honey. Eris.' Saber blushed again, feeling a little nervous. 'Uhm... would you like to dance?' 'You can?' She grinned, examining him. He laughed softly. 'Yes... a strange gift.' 'Very well then.' She hummed, taking his arm, seeming utterly dazzled by the young man as she let him lead her away.
Talon had watched the exchange with interest, and now moved to stand beside the mammoth; one of the very few gods that he trusted here. '...that's an interesting development.' He softly said.

Aegeus also paid attention to the exchange, nodding in agreement with Talon. "Interesting indeed, and unexpected. At least an adult other than myself or Gregory is showing him actual kindness." Watching the pair leave for a moment, he then looked down at Talon "What of you? How's this day fairing for you so far, hm?" He'd taken notice that Talon wasn't the most social birthday child there either. Not that it was necessary though, due to everything being about Dagger as always.

He coughed awkwardly, looking up at Aegeus. 'I do not believe that all of these celebrations are... inherently necessary.' He politely replied. 'I am sure we can all ease into adulthood without the need for an overly explosive party to shove it in everyone's faces... especially when we all know that it is for the other gods to worship dagger.' He ran a hand through his white hair, watching his brother closely as he gracefully swept Eris across the floor, a soft smile on the males lips. Talon hummed lowly, examining them both for a while. 'Maybe more than just celebrations were intended for today.' He finally murmured, frowning slightly- he glanced towards his mother, who was also watching Saber and Eris- and then found Zeus among the crowd, who was watching out of the corner of his eye. 'How sly.'

Aegeus studied the setup too, and couldn't hide an amused chuckle. "Perhaps. Let us just hope that gods will grow to be more intelligent in the future." He had his own little theory now running around in his head, but he withheld any further commentation. If anything, it was sad to watch, but it wasn't Saber or Eris he felt bad for. "The easy way out isn't always the right way." Running a hand through his hair, he watched the graceful pair silently as he went into silence, mulling over his own thoughts. How sly indeed, but Aegeus withheld his laughter.

'The easy way out?' Talon curiously asked, blinking up at him, head tilted. 'What does that mean?' He inquired, tilting his head. On the floor, Eris touched sabers cheek gently, softly talking to him as they danced. Every so often he would nod, his own lips twitching up into a smile, as tiny flecks of gold in his pale eyes glinted in the thin sunlight.

"For now, it doesn't matter," Aegeus said, shaking his head "It is not necessarily of negative intent anyway." He did manage a slight smile as he watched the two, seeing Saber having what looked like a decent time dancing with Eris. "All that matters is that your brother is enjoying himself for once, I suppose. My bitter words do not deserve to dampen anyone's mood, hm?" Though he spoke calmly most of the time, his words could sound like the meanest if you changed the time they were spoken in.

Talon smiled at him warmly, enjoying the presence of the God. Saber finally parted from Eris, a light blush flowering his cheeks as he hurriedly made his way back to them. 'She said she's going to write to me.' He softly breathed. 'That's wonderful.' Talon cheerfully quipped, touching his brother's shoulder.

Aegeus watched as their dance finally ended, and Saber hurried back over to them. He smiled slightly at the pink tint on the prince's cheeks. With that slight smile, he looked down at Saber, saying "That's great, Saber." Yet, he said nothing more, just turning his gaze back to the crowds yet again. "Glad to see that something good came out of this event for you."
