Lionblaze watched the apprentice apply the goldenrod and made a mental note. "Uh," he was caught off guard again. He covered it up with a cough. "Guess I like when everything is... not necessarily perfect, but in order. It's just-" he bit his tongue before carefully choosing his next words. "We're not as close as I want us to be, and I'm the only one making an effort." He swatted at a fly. "Should we be going back now, or do you need some other herbs?" He didn't like talking about his problems this much, it made him feel self centered. Maybe he was. Wait, am I?

Lionblaze padded after Mudpaw. He was revealing too much. It's not like this would help anyways. "Sure I have," he replied curtly. "Otherwise me saying that I made an effort would be a lie." The tom's gaze wandered around the forest. He sniffed the air and caught a scent of a mouse, but decided to at least accompany the apprentice back to camp. "You know," he meowed after a moment of silence, "if you ever need anything, I can help you." Lionblaze surprised himself with what he said. Not too long ago, he would've been happy to kick Mudpaw, but now began to pity him. Which made him feel relatable. This frustrated him even more. "With warrior related stuff. In return you can - if you want - help me with all these medical related problems. I could gladly use your assistance."

Lionblaze huffed at mention of the fox. It's not like it was an adult anyways - but didn't bother saying anything of the sort. That would fuel up another fight. Instead he rolled his eyes and mumbled, "I guess we could count the fox." The tom gave a quick flick of his tail. "Not that I personally have any problems. It's just - I want to be able to take care of myself." Like the apprentice did back there. He wasn't feeling jealous, or impressed, or even helpless... maybe just left out? Either way, he had a sudden urge to try and understand whatever a medicine cat did.

Lionblaze was about to turn back around a head out to hunt, but stopped midway. "Wait!" He called after Mudpaw and ran to catch up with him. "Shouldn't we report the whole incident to Wolfstar?" he asked with a frown. There would need to be patrols being sent around the territory to make sure the fox wouldn't come back, and instead of doing anything, he spent his free time talking about some problem he had with his sister. Now he really felt worthless.
