"Most of the animals that prey on us are too big," Sunfall meowed, encouraged by her question. "You would have to use a lot of deathberries to kill a fox, and as far as this lily goes it seems to only be dangerous to cats, and only if you eat the leaves."

"These are deadly, but only to cats," Sunfall explained. "But like all poisons, the easiest way to get rid of them is with yarrow. It will make a cat vomit up the toxins."
Wildpaw sunk his teeth into the fox's leg and tasted blood. He began raking his claws across it's other leg, but the fox started thrashing wildly. he wouldn't have let go, but he knew the fox could do some serious damage if it stepped on him.

Wildpaw raced back at the fox, barely missing a powerful claw as it came crashing down beside him. He rolled out of the way, the sprung out at the fox. He sunk his teeth into the base of its tail.

"Yarrow will make a cat vomit," Sunfall meowed, "But the reality is sometimes, we may get to a cat too late. The poisons may have already taken affect before we get to a patient; this also applies to normal sicknesses as well. One of the hardest things to deal with is losing a clanmate when it's your job to save them."
Wildpaw was swinging freely, but when he saw Mudpaw attacked he let go and leapt to the ground. As soon as he did he caught a powerful blow to his side that sent him skidding across the forest floor. he was dazed and now bleeding from his flank, but he wasn't out of the fight yet. Panting he charged again. He raked his claws along the fox's leg.

"Let's chase it off before it calls for help!" Wildpaw growled. They were winning so far, but he knew that the fight and the amount of blood would attract a lot of unwanted attention. He began slashing and dodging; swiping his claws viciously at the fox and then nimbly getting out of the way before it could attack him.

"All herbs can be dangerous if they aren't administered properly," Sunfall warned. "Only the roots of horsetail are good for cats; the leaves however can make a cat sick. The work we do is important Sagepaw, never to be taken lightly."
"Yeah, let's head back," Wildpaw looked over himself and at Mudpaw. Now that the battle was over, he could see that they both looked pretty torn, but it didn't discourage him. It was the opposite actually; nothing excited him more than the thrill of battle. He might of been bleeding and missing a few clumps of fur, but it was as comforting to him as a kit curling up next to it's mother. "Seems like you haven't lost too much of your old touch Mudpaw."

[[ I really hate timezones, but other than that, I'm good! How are all of you? ]]
Marigoldspot's ears pricked up. Patrol? She could do one of those. It's not like she was planning on napping forever anyways. The she-cat stood up and after a while of stretching, padded over to Thunderstep. "Do you mind if I join?" she meowed and tried to think of the last time she interacted with this cat. Turns out she barely interacted with anyone... she had to work on that.
Lionblaze set out into the forest, grumbling under his breath. His stupid sister didn't want to talk with him which lowered his stupid self confidence and he was now 100% sure everyone thought he was stupid. Suddenly he stopped and stood silently. He was sure he heard something just now.

Lionblaze sped up his pace. He was now catching a scent of Mudpaw and Wildpaw. There was also something else - a hint of distress and blood? The tom finally spotted the two apprentices and his eyes widened. Their pelts were matted with blood and small patches of fur seemed to be ripped out. He finally recognized the smell. Fox. "What happened? Are you okay? Where's the fox?" He almost began to scold them but realized that it wasn't the best thing to do - especially in such a delicate situation.

We should probably go to Wolfstar about this... Lionblaze surveyed the two in worry. He couldn't help thinking of everything that could go wrong in such a situation. But he also couldn't help being impressed. Clearing his throat, he decided the next best thing he could do was make sure nothing like this happened again. So he scolded. "I could ask you the same thing. You shouldn't be going out on your own. Do you know what could've happened if it was a grown fox?" His voice became deeper and serious; for some reason reminding him of his sister which only worsened his mood.

[[ Aw, Mudpaw's so cute in kind of an unsettling way! ]]
Lionblaze hated being embarrassed almost as much as he hated being wrong. "Isn't it weird how you can stand up for yourself to a warrior twice your size but not to a kit?" His eyes gleamed with amusement as he tilted his head to the side, not letting his gaze wander away from Mudpaw.
[[ I just want to hug Mudpaw but unfortunately Lionblaze doesn't... I apologize ]]

Lionblaze knew he struck a nerve but didn't back off. "Let me give you a couple tips," the tom replied with a low grumble. "One. Don't speak like that to those who can swat you down like a fly." He stepped even closer to Mudpaw and glowered at him from above. "Two. If you want to become a warrior for the sheer purpose of killing, you should quit before it all goes wrong." He began to feel uneasy, as if something inside of him was telling him to stop and leave the apprentice alone. But he couldn't. He needed to finish what he started.
[[ Ooh that's a great idea! ]]
