From Rogue to Clan

"I guess I will come along," Reiny replied, curiosity getting the better of her. After a moment hesitation, she asked, "Do you know the way?"

Yew seemed a bit embarrassed. "Afraid not," He replied. Reiny smiled reassuringly.

"Don't worry, it's this way," Taking the lead, Reiny led Yew towards the river, lucky that sunset was almost upon them.

They arrived at the river just as the sun was slipping away. Just as Yew had said, as the last rays of sunlight dipped beyond the horizon, the last dancing lights made the river appear to be burning bright flames filled with life. Both Reiny and Yew became intrigued, losing themselves in the hidden message. Both believed that the river was trying to tell them something, as if a force was guiding them. Reiny seemed more lost in the view, allowing herself to actually move with the flames, wandering down the river until the flames disappeared. After a moment, she shook herself out of her stupor, and discovered a cave right in front of her. Yew joined her outside of the hidden cavern.

Reiny stares at the cave. She starts in, but pauses and looks over at the tom. "Do you want to come with?" She asks. Yew seemed unsure.

"It could be dangerous," he warned. She nodded, agreeing. However, she felt the pull into the cave, and after the river, she wanted to explore. Without another word, Reiny went into the cave, her paw steps light as she moved cautiously in the dark. She stumbled over a rock, and would have fallen if not for someone pressing against her to steady her. Keeping calm, she squinted to see Yew in the dark.

"Careful," He said, and the two continued, until they came across a fork in the passageway.

Reiny peers down each tunnel. "I think the left is good," she said.

"I agree," Yew replied, peering down both tunnels.

"Want to stay together or split up?" Reiny asked calmly.

"We should stay together, at least for now."

Together, they head down the left tunnel. It's not long until they come across another fork, the two tunnels leadi left or right.

Together, they explored deeper into the cave. Strange glowing orbs appeared around them as the went farther in, signaling that they were getting close to something. Though what it was, they didn't know.

Once again, they came across a split in the path. However, there were tree paths, and the soft, dim light of the orbs allowed them to see better in the dark. The left path was angled downward, and much darker than the rest. The middle path dipped slightly, but otherwise there was no difference. The right path, however, went upwards, and a harsher light could be seen.

Reiny looked over at Yew. "What do you think we should do?" She asked. Yew only shrugged.

"I'm not sure," he admitted. "Though, the light coming from the right is much harsher than the ones around us now, and the left is really dark, so there's probably no light, but the middle has no difference to where we are, so it may just lead farther in on the same path."

Reiny chose to go to the left, but Yew chose to hang back for a bit. As Reiny walked carefully to not accidentally slide, she had to pause for her eyes to adjust to the darkness. The orbs were only floating lights, they didn't have a mind to actually follow anything that moved, so Reiny moved down the path in almost complete darkness. Unfortunately, she didn't notice the sudden drop, and tumbled down into the dark.

Reiny: -11 health

Reiny laid there at the bottom injured, her entire body hurting from the fall. She felt like she broke her leg, but upon checking, found that it was only sprained.

Reiny tried to stand. All of her bruises hurt, and her sprained leg screamed in pain. Limping, she explored the area where she fell, but there didn't seem to be anything around. She tried to find a way back up, but she couldn't see very well in the dark.

Reiny called out to Yew. "Yew! Yew! Help!" Pausing, she gives a little time before she calls out louder, repeating until she got a response. By the sound, he was right where she falled.

"Reiny, are you alright?!" He replied down.

"I'll be fine, but I need a way up!"

Luckily, Yew could see better than her in the dark, and instructed her on how to climb back up. It took some time, but she was able to make it. Yew helped her back to the path where the orbs of light glowed softly. They could go forwards through the middle, off to the right, or head back the way they came, even though they appear to be close.

Reiny and Yew moved through the middle path. As the went, there seemed to be more orbs. The tunnel became brighter, and then opened into a cavern. The top was high above the cats, and orbs of light moved around them. In the center was an illuminated spring, with water bubbling over a bright stone that reflected the light like the moon. Reiny and Yew are in awe at the sight.

Moonspring discovered. Cats in a clan can use this spot to connect with Starclan, and leaders can get their nine lives and advice more efficiently. Signs will be easier to distinguish, and allows for all cats to get a +1 to their Spirit stat.

Reiny limps over to the spring, and stares into the water, forgetting her pain. She senses that this place is important to their future.

Stonekeeper

"Who are you?" Jess tried talking again. "And what are you doing here?" This time, one of the cats answered.

"I don't see why we need to tell you anything," the tom replied calmly. The she-cat beside the tom pressed against him, seemingly for support.

"This is our territory," Jess tried.

"So?" The she-cat interrupted.

Together, Reiny and Yew leave the cave. Back outside, it is dark, and Yew is thinking of taking his leave.

"I should be going, I need to find a place to sleep," he tells Reiny.
