(Crap I forgot about this! I'll start.) Lily walked to class with her ferret on her shoulder. Her wand was close by, just in case.

( Sorry, please try and avoid short starters next time. It's fine now though. If there's nothing to reply to during the rp when you're past your starters, then it's fine for short posts but in a starter I would like the post to be longer. )

{Here's Lani's starter!}
Lani didn't like reading in the Slytherin common room. It was oddly loud in there, and she had heard a few too many things that she'd prefer to never, ever have heard. It could get entertaining sometimes, but other times, she just wanted some quiet. Instead, she walked through the halls, reading her novel and dodging the people around her with practiced ease. She was heading to the library, since it was the only really quiet place in the whole school under the librarian's iron fist. She only glanced up occasionally to make sure she was going the right way, but she was fairly confident in her ability to get around.

Eira casually strode through the Hogwarts hallways, her blue eyes were particularly amused as she watched first years stumble around the castle in complete awe. First years are so small, it's funny thinking about us older students were as first years. Although honestly, I swear there are more first years than usual. She avoided running into a small first year who was staring at one of the paintings on the wall. A small smirk tugged at the corners of her lips as she noticed the prefects who were guiding the first years around had their backs to her. discreetly pulling out her wand she muttered, "auquamenti," and a high pressured spout of water shot from the wand to hit the prefects right in the back, soaking them. While her blue eyes glittered with mischeif and amusement at the two prefect's shrieks of surprise, she acted like she hadn't done anything and slipped her wand up her sleeve. Unless someone used a spell to see what was the last spell she used, nearly nobody would know that it was her doing.

Jackie was waiting for too long, and she looked at her timetable. With a sigh, she realized that an hour had already passed and she was late for whatever was coming next. Immediately doubling over with a fake cough, she decided to pretend that she was sick so that the teachers wouldn't get mad at her for being late. After all, they needed to like her more and not less. Pity is better than anger... With a little sigh Jackie continued on her way to the library to return the book she was reading before she did anything drastic, making some great fake coughs and still hunched over as she made her way there, weaving through the hallways until she entered the library. It seemed the librarian wasn't there, but a girl was. "Hello." She greeted the fellow Slytherin with a small smile. "I see you're late too."

Lily rushed and then she bumped into a first year. "OMG I'm so sorry here let me help you with these books!" she said picking up some of the books. She looked up at the boy. "Sorry let me introuduce myself. My name is Lily Queenie Scamender. I'm a second year from Hufflepuff. And you?" she said reaching her hand out so she can help him up. "He looks nervous. Usually first years at Hogwarts are really excited," she thought to herself.

Lani looked up from her book and blinked in slight surprise. "Late?" she echoed. She hadn't been keeping track of the time, but when she looked, she noticed she was, indeed, late. "Oh, crap..." She sighed. She could already feel the familiar panic rising up in her chest. This happened far, far too often for her liking. Quickly, she stuffed her book in her bag and stood. She hitched her bag over her shoulder. "You should probably be going too, you know." She didn't actually care what other students did, whether they chose to go to class or not, but she figured she might as well say something.

Jackie shook her head, but then looked this student down from head to toe. She could be beneficial.... With a slow nod, she let out one more small fake cough before smiling sweetly. "I surely should. Will you do the pleasure of walking with me?" She asked with an even sweeter, more shy tone than before. "I don't know my way around very well as I usually rely on a map. It would be great help if you accompanied me." She added, swiping her green-ended bangs out of her face and smiling again before slowly turning around instead of walking out of the library so this fellow Slytherin could consider her offer.

{Well hi there!}
Lani bit back a sigh. She wasn't good with people, especially not children, but she was also incapable of refusing a request. She didn't comment on the cough, deeming it unimportant as of now. "Sure. Fine. Where do you need to go? I know my way around well enough." She could use the kid as her excuse at least, if she could manage to find the words to actually speak to her professor. She would surely lose points, or even get detention with how often she was late. She'd never had detention before, so that was a bit of a nerve-wracking thought. She suppressed the way her stomach twisted and refused to think any more on it.

"Only Defense Against the Dark Arts, I'm sure it's not far." She answered quietly, looking up at her fellow housemate with wide eyes that sparkled with hope. Walking back over, she stood facing Lani once more and waited for a response. This Lani girl seemed nice enough, and beneficial too. What could be better? She was what seemed like a half-decent student, and ,aye that could get her into higher places. So many things that were available as options..... Stifling a little excited shiver, Jackie swiped her hair out of her face again and clutched the book she STILL hadn't returned yet against her chest in a gesture that was meant to be shy.

"Okay. I know where that is." Lani remained perfectly oblivious to the girl's thoughts, but she was oblivious to a lot of things. She started heading out of the library, glancing back briefly to make sure she was following her. "Oh yeah, what's your name?" She figured she might as well be courteous and do some introductions. She felt honestly awkward, as she had never had to be the one to initiate any sort of introduction. Children, no matter the age, continued to unnerve her, but she at least tried to be kind to them. She didn't actually hate them; she was just uncertain of how to interact with them.

Jackie nodded brightly, walking along with the older girl. "I'm Jackie." She replied sweetly, but turning her head for a moment to narrow her eyes. There must be some way to get this other Slytherin to warm up to her... She needed it. This person could just have friends in higher places that she would need to get to, so it was best to be friendly and kind for now until some real half decent interaction started happening between the two of them. "Thanks so much for showing me the way" Jackie added quietly, looking up to her walking partner with large eyes.

[[ Yikes I'm so sorry! But I'm here now now, so hello to everyone ~ ]]
Gracie had to admit, that was a bit weird of an introduction, but she could deal with it. "Yup, that's me," she said with a light chuckle. She raked her fingers through her hair out of habit. She wasn't used to meeting so many people at once, and on the same day! "Ah, so what house are you in?" she asked Rory.

{Man, I use Lani as a character in a novel I'm writing and her best friend is super rich in that story so like, Jackie is not exactly wrong if we use that logic lol. Also I'm on my phone so sorry if my response is super short}
Lani hummed. She was pretty much resigned to her fate by now. She wouldn't be able to be on time for class now anyway. She considered just skipping, but she knew she didn't have the guts. It would be better to just face the music. She'd feel an overwhelming amount of anxiety if she didn't. "No problem. Nice to meet you Jackie." The kid was a little weird, she thought, but she wasn't being annoying like so many others, so she decided she was a good enough kid. She far from trusted taking things at face value--she was still Slytherin after all--but she had no reason to completely distrust Jackie just yet. She was still mostly oblivious. What could a kid want from her anyway?

( Cool! )
Jackie just nodded again with a little smile, walking along at the same brisk pace as always. She skipped along and looked around at the other students in the hallway. Some looked familiar, but she didn't pay too much mind to them at the moment. This girl named Lani was her only target for now, because sometimes trying to shoot too high was disastrous. Some things she had experience with... "Is is this way? I think I remember now." She remarked suddenly, looking to the right at a narrow corridor that opened up later. Some students were walking through peacefully.
