a little roleplay for 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚛𝚍𝚞𝚜𝚝 and myself.
setting & plot (for reference):
"so the world is pretty far ahead in the future, maybe a couple hundred years? the environment is mostly gone to crap, with major issues with holes in the ozone layer, depleted soil (making it super hard to grow any kind of crop, really, without a lot of assistance/GMO's), raising global temperatures.. it's really bad. and the rich countries only get richer (profiting from war and exploiting smaller countries), while the poor ones get ravaged by the environment. it's really bad if you're poor.
most governments have become extremely tyrannical with martial law in place, so yeah. the rich live in fear of the military, and the rich countries are basically at odds with each other. think a lot of spying, a lot of covert missions, a lot of distrust. everyone's on the brink of total war and it's scary asf. so these supersoldiers are pretty valuable, naturally, and they're either bred in laboratories or arise 'naturally' due to mutations from chemical waste, unprotected sunlight, etc."
"they both get deployed on a mission together for the sake of spying on Britain. (historically speaking, Russia and Italy share some friends in alliances, primarily Germany. maybe the old insane fascist governments decide to buddy up later?) then though working together, they bond, and yadda yadda."

viridian's character:
[ Subject 17: разум ] - [ Twenty years old ] - [ Male ]
разум ("razum" ): mind
also known as: Razum Soldat (Mind Soldier), 17
разум ("razum" ): mind
also known as: Razum Soldat (Mind Soldier), 17
- Stands at roughly 5'11", with a thin, almost delicate frame. He's got long, spindly limbs with a hard body, with barely any body fat.
- Has greyish-brown hair kept a buzzed short, fair skin, and almost unnaturally faint blue eyes
- Has numerous notable scars: a gash running down his left shoulder, a thin line across his neck, and some thin whip marks on his back. (Most of these are from punishment.)
- He has a barcode tattoo on his right wrist with a serial number underneath it (00017), used for easy identification. He also has a tracking microchip that was surgically inserted into his right upper arm.
Personality:
- 17 doesn't have much of his own personality, since it was never allowed to develop normally (he has no concept of friendship, shame and nudity, kindness, sexuality, etc.). He lives to serve, but only obeys as a result of fear of consequences. He can't think for himself, having been trained that his opinions will not ever matter.
- However, when not hypnotized into his soldier mindset, 17 exhibits traits of introversion and shyness, with an extreme aversion to change or new surroundings of any kind. Part of him yearns for company, but at the same time, he generally will prefer to be alone. He also has a natural inclination to be helpful towards others.
- His soldier mind, however, is marked by a particularly brutish willingness to follow orders, regardless of what they might be. He has no remorse whatsoever--one needs to lose it in order to keep their sanity, in the circumstances that he lives in--and, once again, this unshakable obedience is driven by fear of punishment.
- If one compared him to a highly trained dog, the visualization wouldn't be too far from the truth. 17 was raised and treated in ways that dehumanized him, for the purpose of stripping him of his humanity. (This training tactic, invented by the Russians, isn't used much at all in other countries, primarily due to humanitarian concerns.)
History
- 17 was raised in a laboratory setting from a young age, completely deprived of any normal social interactions. because of this, his verbal skills are at a toddler like level, where he can understand much more than he can speak--his speech is simple and direct, lacking in sophisticated vocabulary.
- After enduring years of rigorous tests, where scientists measured and learned the extent of his telekinetic abilities, he was turned over to the Russian army, from where he was highly trained in combat. Not only did he learn martial arts, hacking skills, spy tactics, and the like, his abilities were mechanized, and he learned how to inflict harm with them.
- He was also forced to lose his memories of his past life, also starting at a young age, using several different methods: waterboarding, some small surgeries (mostly to the temporal lobe and hippocampus), and, shock treatments.
- He's been deployed before, mostly on spy and message-interception missions to other countries, all of which he was successful. He has committed one deliberate assassination on a political enemy, but has killed about a dozen or so people that stood in his way during other missions.
Abilities
- His primary ability is telekinesis, the ability to move objects with just his mind. This ability of his is extremely powerful, and due to decades of training it, it's mostly consistent--emotional fluctuations aren't much of a problem for him. These objects he can move could also be internal; for example, he was trained to snap necks and twist limbs, and deliver splitting headaches.
- Extrasensory perception: what one could call his "hunches" are often times startlingly accurate. To a certain extent, he can feel and read emotions, and he was trained to listen for communications transmitted through radio waves (he can do this better if in a sensory deprivation sort of environment). That being said, He can also short circuit telephone lines, radios, and if he tries really hard, whole power grids
- He is also highly trained in martial arts, in the case he was ever challenged in a physical fight. His fighting style is marked by a certain flexibility and gracefulness, but of the lethal kind. However, 17 could easily be overpowered in a physical match just due to his size.
- Lastly, he has an extensive knowledge of how to wield several types of guns, knives, and swords.
- However, when he's pushed to the maximum (which is often), he becomes very physically weak, and he's prone to bleeding from his nose and ears, and headaches. Hearing particularly high frequencies will give him migraines, rendering him unable to function.
Misc.
- His triggers include, but are certainly not limited to: deep water, the dark, examination rooms, syringes, cages, blindfolds, sudden loud noises. These will give him intense flashbacks, panic attacks, or cause him to dissociate.
- Another notable fact is that classical piano music was used to lull him into being hypnotized. If exposed to the music, he'll slip into a state of complete obedience--he won't react when touched or prodded, and will do absolutely anything commanded of him without hesitation.
- He hasn't experienced many things when outside his nearly robotic soldier mindset, the most prominent of these things being the outdoors.
- 17 is fluent in: Russian, English, Spanish, French, Mandarin Chinese, German, and Japanese. He thinks mostly in Russian, but has a tendency to mix his languages as he speaks aloud.
- He has no memories of a childhood or family, but, he did have both. His history and records of his parents (who were both killed when the government sought after their son) are recorded deep in the military's digital database.
stardust's character:
Emery Christiana Hudson, also know as Subject 347
Twenty-year-old female.
Alias: Adria di Cadore
Codename: Dante
Physical:
• Has straight, dirty-blonde hair with slight waves near the tips. Darker near the roots, almost ashy-brown. Cut to a medium length ending at her clavicle, it is nevertheless almost always kept up in a messy bun, especially when she’s working.
• Most of her features are sharper than what one usually sees; Has the appearance that she was carved from porcelain. Her hips and waist come together to make curves so gentle they’re almost nonexistent. Ever the doll, her looks are deceiving.
• Precisely 5’5” (165.1 cm) and 115.5 pounds. Plain and unassuming, she is a featherweight champion of average height, and often underestimated, to say the least.
• Fair-skinned with neutral pigments and cool, rosy cheeks that accentuate stormy grey eyes. Has a small scar behind her right ear where a microchip was inserted.
Personality:
• Em has been trained to alter her personality depending on a situation. She is an adept liar, and is efficient when it comes to reading other people. A would-be skilled chess player, she can think three steps ahead of her enemies, which are decided by the People in Charge. Em can be sexy, sweet, whatever is required of her to accomplish something.
• When she is not hiding behind her mask of duty, Emery is selfish. There is nothing that concerns her more than her own safety, and if she feels her position is compromised, she will abandon it, or she will proceed without hesitation to remove the threat. Em does not see a reason to care for others at this point.
• Em is a spitball of passion and determination when she isn’t on a mission, which may seem wrong, but for her, it’s easier to feel nothing when she has a job to do. She is focused and collected in the field, but among allies, she can be feisty, snapping at anything that she views as being simply wrong.
• Truthfully, she is a rebellious soul, gifted when it comes to mischief, however, she will not question orders unless they present harm to her or her friends. She knows better than to doubt the People in Charge, but Emery is always prepared for a fight, but is intelligent enough to know when flight is required to survive, which is her ultimate goal.
History:
• Born to a poor English family in Italy, Emery was raised in the streets and canals of Venice until she was four, and then things got weird. She could make people do what she wanted, make them feel what she felt. Then came the plants, following her through alleys and across bridges. Her parents and older brother were afraid, so they made them come get her.
• The strangers took her to a private facility in Rome where they kept all the weird cases. It was, in all honesty, a good place for her. The people there taught her how to use her abilities to her advantage (and to theirs). They held school for their test subjects, ensuring the children were knowledgeable and aware of the world around them.
• Later on, when she turned fourteen, they turned awareness into paranoia, training her to fight. All things considered, Emery was lucky: Italy is one of the most humane countries still left in existence, although that term is relative. After all, everyone who went through the program was ripped from a family.
• Emery’s history of assignments is long, scribbled on a piece of paper somewhere, beginning when she was fifteen. Most often, she is sent to blackmail or assassinate someone that the People in Charge do not like. She has never asked why.
Abilities:
• Emery can manipulate plants, as long as they are within sight, and generally flexible. She cannot create something organic out of nothing but air. Undergrowth is her specialty, whereas trees are her worst nightmare. With less access to foliage these days, there is not much she can do with this power unless she brings along some seeds everywhere she goes, which she obviously does.
• She can also manipulate her pheromones, to make people feel what she wants them to feel, and possibly influence what they do. She cannot control more than four people at once, however, as it drains her ability to concentrate on herself and her surroundings.
• She is fluent in Italian, English, and Spanish, and is competent in Arabic. She knows the basics of German and French, enough to be successful in her missions, but still she works to improve.
• Em was shown first how to fight with a stick, then progressed until she became well-rounded with a rapier, dagger, throwing knives, and a standard pistol. In addition to that, she learned fist-fighting for self-defense. Her fighting style relies on her endurance and agility, rather than strength.
Misc:
• Emery has, for the most part, been able to keep her humanity, her sense of self. She understands that this is not the case for every soldier in every country, which gives her a sense of pride to be from Italy. She did return to another base in Venice when she was eighteen, and this is where she calls home for now, though she may be far from it.
• Em goes by her true name in few places, and even fewer friends know her as anything other than Adria. Her codename, Dante, was given to her on purpose by the People in Charge, perhaps with the intention that people would assume her to be a male, which may have protected her on numerous missions without her knowledge.
