Well, this person sure was energetic. Anstus smiled slightly. "Interesting. I've known one, though I never did get to meet him in person. He was quite knowledgeable. Let's hope we can be on good as terms as I was with him."
Werben was still quietly freaking out over having a doppelgรคnger.

"No. Probably not," Anstus affirmed. "But at this point I'm not even going to question anything." He had just managed to become un-doomed for no specific reason and was in a completely different universe. Anything past that was probably just part of the experience.
"You did not give your last name," Werben said suddenly, just now realizing this.
"I'm aware. It's yours."
"Oh."
Blank staring ensued.

Yuan Kang glanced at the argument. "Should we ask what's wrong? Or go to the food?"

"What's Alternia?" Anstus blurted out. "And are you suggesting he's my ancestor or something similar? We're the same age, that's impossible." Unless they had been yanked from completely different spots in the timeline, that is. That made some degree of sense- he knew for certain that he had an ancestor, thanks to ectobiology. Still. Weird.
"What, and you're not from Alternia?"
"I'm from Beforus." Not his ancestor, then. Different planets. Apparently. Gosh, this was confusing. "Let's not think about that. Probably irrelevant." He didn't think that, of course, but it didn't seem to be worth the headache.

(Yeah, you did. Basically everyone's standing around being confused.)
"Yes. Let's move on," Anstus said firmly. New subject, new subject... confirming if this guy had a similar background to his seemed good. "So. What's your proper world like, then?" he asked.
Werben didn't feel like answering, so he didn't. He was still trying to work everything out mentally.

Pretty good lol)) Arty was a little baffled to see another troll and offered a small wave followed by a shrug as some sort of explanation for what happened - it had all happened so fast, even he wasn't too sure what exactly had gone down between them. (ah sorry to quote a random post lol, but did you see my guy's response to hack? if so i missed your reply rip)

Werben blinked. "Yeah. Right. I lived by a river near a desert. My lusus was a dumb bird. It wasn't really anything out of the ordinary," he said. "My friends wanted to play this weird game with me, but I ended up here first. I hope they aren't worried." They probably just thought he decided to back out or something. Hopefully it wouldn't be a big deal. The thought made him uncomfortable, but that was okay. They should just continue on without him, he decided.
Wow, okay, there was a chance of that weird game being the same one he was involved with. Everything was just getting more confusing now. "I don't want to get into what happened to me," Anstus said shortly. "Used to have a normal life, but that all changed a few months ago. Long story short, I'm conditionally immortal now and supposed to be dead. Not sure what happened there."

Anstus brightened up a bit. He had been right, then. "Yes, in fact. You didn't get the added benefit of wings, then? And what's your title? I'm the Seer of Doom." He was back on familiar territory now, and that made him feel considerably more confident.

"Ah. I believe all of my co-players get the wings, in the timelines where they Ascend. Could be a species thing, perhaps?" Aliens, man. One could never tell with aliens. "Are you doomed or from the alpha timeline?"

"Ah. I'm doomed- or was, that is, seeing how the universe doesn't seem to want to kill me anymore. Our time player decided to time travel, which always dooms us. Quite upsetting." He had known almost immediately. Visions of inevitable doom and all that. "She was a horrible time player. Probably the cause for about ninety percent of our problems."
Werben was busily staring off into space, having given up on understanding this conversation.

"Our time player is just a horrible person in general, honestly. We have to have an AI deal with all the actual time player stuff. He tells her not to do a lot, and she doesn't listen a lot of the time. We have a lot of doomed timelines." Most of the doomed timelines he had looked down involved her messing up in some way. "He's good. Glad that he exists. Er, existed. Doesn't like hanging around in doomed timelines." No one did. It was just that no one else could time travel.

Hack held the map out for the other student to read and offered a sheepish grin. "Yeah, my eyesight isn't really all that good, and ink doesn't have a wakfu signature." "Ink doesn't have a wa-- a what now?" he asked, long ears twitching. "Mmkay, ah... my navigation isn't really that good." Tamaki took the map in his fingers and squinted at it. What the hell is this place, anyway, seriously?

(Aw geez. What happened, if you don't mind telling?)
"She is a mess. She broke her land before everyone was even in the game. She also tried to be leader once, which immediately fell through." He sighed in exasperation. "Which is why I was leader. Seer of everything that could go wrong and all." That had been hard to get used to. He had never been one to be interested in things as horrible as that, but what could he do? Might as well take advantage of what he had.

(Sounds stressful.)
"Sounds pretty optimal. After our time player stepped down, the bard of blood ended up being leader since no one else was doing it. She held us all together well enough, I think, but she handed it off to me. Said that the destroyer of bonds shouldn't be the one leading. I generally just try to keep everyone from killing each other and try to move forward. Yell at people to do things if I need to." At least, that had been what he used to do. After the timeline became doomed, the whole yelling at people to not screw everyone over thing had become kind of irrelevant. "Your guide probably would have saved us a lot of trouble, if anyone actually listened. Almost no one ever felt like cooperating."

Anstus shrugged. "Suppose so. Better me than a lot of people, I guess." Everyone else was either idiotic or not at all fit for leadership. "It was less stressful than having to watch and let other people make all the important decisions, for me."
