Well, as it happens I am typing up a bunch of personality traits and a spoiler-free backstory, so I'd love some feedback!
I'll post my sketches, too.
He is shaping up to be a very interesting character! I like him a lot more than I did two weeks ago!
Although, you can't be nicknamed 'the mad king' and be boring XD

I haven't had much time to look at this yet with everything going and and since I"m running my own class, but this is super cool, Shadow. Just the idea of a whole class on the villain is such an awesome idea.

NOT REALLY VILLAIN RELATED BUT DONT YOU LOVE IT WHEN YOU GET PAST THE CHARACTER DESIGN BLOCK AND FINALLY GET A CHARACTER TO WHERE YOU WANT THEM TO BE????? ISNT THAT THE BEST FEELING EVER????

*eyes checklist* cX Rattlesnake and Will (and some of the clan cats ) both get checks in all/most of those. Love it! They alternate povs and each thinks the other a villain and themselves as in the right.
But apart from that, this is a very good way to flesh out a story I've been thinking about...

Reason my "lectures" are so short is because I know how short attention spans are, and I just want to get my point across and then let you sit on it. The work comes from you, I can only encourage and guide. (':
Also, I really do highly encourage listening to that song. Villain theme songs tend to be dark and tense but this one shows more...humanity. It might give you the boost you need to understanding your character.

Interesting lecture, especially considering my villain is rather removed from 'humanity', as such. He was crazy to begin with, then he died, only to be summoned back into the mortal world. So yeah, he's not good.
I have to remember that he was alive once, even if he was never morally correct. Ah, he's fun to play with!

It took me a really long time for me to be happy with him as a character, but I do enjoy writing him now. His name is Seth, but it might change later.
He is a distant ancestor of Nefertiti, which complicates things a little bit. He was put to death for crimes against the royal family (high treason, I think that's called). In Egyptian mythology, there is no 'hell' or equivalent - instead, wrongdoers have their hearts eaten by Ammit the Devourer and are effectively erased from existence. There is a way for these souls to be retrieved, say, but the dead must be summoned by a very powerful magician to perform the summoning, which is where Henchman Guy comes in.
Their shared ancestry certainly weighs heavily on Nefertiti's conscience - she's all too aware of how easily she could go down the same road. Nefertiti's genetics are a bit of a catch-22 situation. Their bloodline is favoured by the gods, which gives them almost unmeasurable power. Unfortunately, that power is easily corrupted. While Nefertiti is able to keep her head above water and stay on a relatively 'good' path, Seth went to the dark side all too eagerly.
He played a critical role in shaping history, which is also fun to play with.

Wow, I'm in love with him already? And I gotta say, that imagery of Ammit the Devourer eating the hearts of wrongdoers is super wicked and powerful. <33

I'm starting to really like him as a character (I'll post those sketches today)
I'm working a lot on motivations, as well. At the moment, there is a lot of bitterness towards his family in general - he claims his birthright was stolen from him (it kinda was, but thats what happens when you become a criminal). He preys on the fact that Nefertiti is slowly falling apart, and its quite effective.
Yeah, its of of my favourite parts of the mythology. They believed that when you died, your heart was weighed against the feather of truth. If you passed, you were allowed into the afterlife, but if you failed, your heart was eaten and you were more or less obliterated from existence. I certainly hope to incorporate the story of it into the comic.

I'm trying to think of a way to pester you without spoiling too much, haha. I have to keep in mind that suspense is a major part of my villain prompts and their appearance in Trials to begin with.
Because the villain is already in the main story.~
But I don't want to spoil anything by asking too many questions. Plus I'm bad at wording questions to begin with.

Hmmm.... is it allowed to switch between villains? It would probably be more practical to develop both the Westward and the RtD villain at the same time...
