Colin Stills A man begins to die when he ceases to expect anything from tomorrow. โ

Colin quickly realized the err in his answer, and he blushed even redder. Turns out, pale complexions are the perfect canvases for embarrassment, offering plenty of capacity of the varied shades of red. Colin wasn't very used to social interaction, most of the time he was just a barista serving coffee at the early hours. He checked his phone once again, accidentally dropping a couple of straws that were also in that pocket of the apron. April 28th. "It's the 28th, if that's what you were asking." He bent to pick up the straws he'd dropped. "Forgive me, I'm so scatter-brained sometimes."
Seeing as the remaining coffee in the pot would get cold eventually, Colin made himself a mocha, styling the whipped cream into a neat point, and shaking some cinnamon powder on top. Clearly, he'd made this drink several times over. Normally, he'd drink an iced coffee during the warmer seasons, like most people were doing right now, but today he was feeling rather chilly. The whipped cream slowly deflated into the coffee, turning the drink a more creamy color. He sipped the mocha, the warm liquid tasting exactly as it should, caffeinated hot chocolate with cream. He licked his lips.
He had expected the man to leave when he finished his coffee, so when he asked to stay, Colin had to admit that he was glad. For some reason, he didn't want the stranger to leave just yet. He nodded, a smile playing on his lips. "It's no problem to me. The business slows down along this time, so I won't have to worry about table availability. Believe it or not, we get a lot of customers for a coffee shop this small."
Colin had nearly finished his drink when he mentioned seeing him in a dream, which was just as well since he almost dropped the cup. He set it down before he did so, his eyes narrowing slightly at the stranger. What kind of game was he playing? Maybe it was just a coincidence. "Hmm... Funny. That might have been where I've seen you before. No, no. That's definitely where I've seen you before. It's a small world, huh?"

Jack Whelan "You'll never realize how short life is until you've lived a life-time." - x -
Huh. The exact date. That was... a relief. The next full moon would be May 10th, which was... nice to hear. He could stay and get to know the area around here for a little bit before he had to leave. Jack gave a small chuckle and a small, relaxed sigh. He listened to Colin talk and found the little quirks about him... kind of adorable.
"I'm more of... a social person, in a way. I don't like bein' alone at all, despite avoidin' most folks." Looking over the other, he glanced around the shop a bit one more time. This time, it was for anything that could bring him harm or escape. Windows and door-way there... and the guy always had a cell phone on him, it seemed. "You seem awfully nice so far. Glad you don't ask too many questions, either. But, ya know... I do got a question for you 'fore I take a small nap."
Purposely waiting before he spoke, his gaze looked around a bit more. The coffee was brought up to lips lips and he took a slow sip, looking at a particular table in the corner that he could situate himself with. If this mans' words were true, he didn't want people bothering him or gawking at him.
"Do you believe in the super natural? Like... vampires, ghosts, werewolves, that sorta thing." An odd question, but just out of curiosity, he wanted to see what this guy believed. Almost casual conversation as well as to see how far he could push his limits with Colin. If he wasn't really interested in that sort of ordeal, then he was fine to say certain things. If he was, then... he could perhaps give a tip of warning.
His mismatched eyes settled on the table in the corner again and then glanced back at Colin. Jack glanced back at the menu in case there was something that might interest him fora bite to eat, which wasn't really the case at all. He was part canine, whether he liked it or not, so food was always something on his mind.
It was like Jack had completely bypassed the dream thing, trying to figure out mentally what the odds of something like that were. Brought here form practically across the world, having dreams of this guy for... well, he lost track of the years, and then ending up coming to some small coffee shop in the mid-west area (sort of, in his mind it was midwest) to meet a guy who sounded and looked exactly like the guy in his dreams? That was a little more than a coincidence, in his mind. He kind of wanted to figure it out as well.
For some small reason that Jack couldn't explain, he wanted to protect Colin.
