(Ack! Sorry for my poof. Again. xc And, hi, MissMisty! I'm glad you're interested in joining, but, as Mint said, you had asked to adopt Honeykit, but she's not available for beginners. :c Sorry. There are some members of this roleplay who are inactive, though, and I'll tag them to see if they would like to continue. If not, you can have one of their kits, or I can possibly add more. I was thinking about remodeling this place, too, so I might add more kits then. And, I'll hopefully be more active after that. Eeep.) (Tagging: SilverHailstormrussetfernSkyfire/FirewindsmiliiMiNaMisorryivythorn ) (Oh, and, Penguin ~ ❄ actually PMed me and told me that she wouldn't be active here anymore, and that Snowkit could find a different home, sadly. She got so close to adopting her. But, she's open now, if you want to try for her, MissMisty!) (Also, typing up replies now.)

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mistkit That was it. The part when Mistkit would have to tell Rattlesnake her power. It was bound to happen eventually, she reasoned with herself. The truth was, she didn't know how Rattlesnake would react. See, some cats would consider her power as a thing to be afraid of. If they knew the details of their future, they would constantly be living in fear of tomorrow. Some cats would want to use her power for their own benefit, to guarantee their success in all they do. And some wouldn't want to know their future at all, and just live in the moment. Ironically enough, Mistkit had no idea what Rattlesnake would think. He could react a thousand different ways. I guess I'll just have to find out, she thought, took a deep breath, and before she could stop herself, replied, "I can see the future." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mottlekit Mottlekit wasn't the type of kit to be able to take in a lot of words at a time. So, when Dream meowed on, he found himself getting a bit lost. But what he did notice, though, was that Dream's "species", the Gifted, apparently couldn't have kits. "So, how do you survive, then?" he wondered aloud. "If none of you can have kits." Sure, they could adopt kits, but these kits wouldn't be Gifted kits, would they? So how did they survive? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Yewkit Yewkit felt her ears grow hot with the compliment. "Th-thanks," she stuttered, her gaze falling to her paws. No one had ever complimented her before, except for Maplestone, of course, and... She tried to shake her head as if to clear it, but the name still popped into her mind anyway. Silverspider. Yewkit scrunched her eyes shut, trying to get the memories out. They faded, for the moment, but she knew they would be back. I haven't told Goldspark about Silverspider, she realized. No— not now. Clearing her mind of the thought, she asked, "What do I do next?"

"So, how do you survive, then?" he wondered aloud. "If none of you can have kits." Sure, they could adopt kits, but these kits wouldn't be Gifted kits, would they? So how did they survive?
Rattlesnake did react with one of those hundred reactions. He blinked once, as if surprised. Several things went through him mind, but it was hard to tell what his reaction was exactly. Finally he said, "Hum..." It was drawn out, as if he was thinking about his next words. "Interesting." His eyes were caluclating as he looked at Mistkit, but it wasn't the type of 'how could I use this kit' thought. No, it was a 'is she okay with this? what's she thinking?' one of another cat trying to read someone else's mind when they don't actually have that ability. "You don't like telling others that," he hazards. A smile flickered across his face, a half embarrassed one. "Sorry I sort of backed you into a corner." Now, even if he had been surprised at the first admittance, he was now completely at ease. "Would it worry you if I asked a question, or would you like me to change the subject?" he asked, tilting his head. -- Dream was basically unaware most of what he was saying was going over Mottlekit's head. He answered the question after a brief pause of hesitation. "I wasn't born Gifted. Rattlesnake," his eyes twitched in his mate's direction. "has the ability to 'gift' these powers to another. Basically why we're called 'Gifted'. Some, when they join the group I'm in, want it, sometimes they don't. It's their choice."

Rattlesnake just seemed surprised, and not at all judgmental. Feeling her shoulders loosen with relief, she went ahead and replied, "No, I don't mind if you want to ask me something." What harm could it do, now that Mistkit had essentially decided that Rattlesnake wasn't, in fact, the least bit evil? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mottlekit Mottlekit glanced over his shoulder and studied Rattlesnake. He did catch her staring at him sometimes, as if she knew something about him that he didn't even know yet himself. To be honest, she was a bit of an oddball. Shrugging, he turned back to Dream when another question popped into his mind. "But, can Rattlesnake die? If he did, how would you get your powers?"

Shrugging, he turned back to Dream when another question popped into his mind. "But, can Rattlesnake die? If he did, how would you get your powers?" Rattlesnake nodded his head, glad to have the permission. "Do you see the different possibilities of the future or can you only see in a line, along the most possible view of it." It was an interesting question, like someone who knew what they were talking about. And that was because Rattlesnake did. He'd had experience with all sorts of powered cats and kits. He remembered a kit he had met, long ago...Inkkit. A kit who knew everything. It sounded like a powerful tool, something others would covert. Only Inkkit had been unstable. A small brain able to hold that much was so very, very hard. Rattlesnake blinked, taking himself out of his memories. Life when you had that sort of mental ability must be hard. He couldn't know, as he was on the other end of that spectrum. A cat with the greatest physical abilities, restricted by the cats he loved and a curse StarClan had placed on him. -- "He's immortal," answered Dream. "So no, he can not." Something dark drifted through his eyes. A memory he could not share with a kit. A brief sentence screamed at him as his mate had stood by a river, pelt heavy with rain. Just let me die! StarClan! Why can't you just let me die! He shook his fur out, changing the subject. "What do you like to do?" (Getting spoilers for Three of Hearts even before it's written. How dare you.)

"Now, the most basic rule of hunting. A rabbit can hear you before it can smell you, so always make sure you make no sound." Goldspark started, still remembering her apprenticeship. Something I could never do.She grined, remembering how long did she take to master silence. "Try that first. Move as silent as you can" she said and sat down, her ears alert for every sound.

(Yes, you can!) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mistkit "I can see all possible futures," Mistkit replied, her voice steady and her expression calm, but her eyes betrayed a flicker of stress and weariness in their blue depths. "I only have to follow them when I want to, though. It's kind of useless; seeing every way the future could go when just the tiniest thing could set us off on a completely different trail. That's why, most of the time, I don't bother. It's a waste of my energy and my time." Mistkit hadn't meant to say so much, she was just... not very happy with her power at the moment. Sure, she only had to follow the trails when she wanted to, she never had to, but when had that ever worked for her? If she knew exactly how the future was going to go, then she would've known that Storm would adopt Ripplekit and leave her behind. She would've known that her mother would abandon her and her brother at the Home as soon as she realized they weren't normal. She would've been able to fix all her problems before they even happened. But she couldn't. She was basically helpless. It was ironic that the one kit in the Home who could see the future couldn't change a thing about it. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mottlekit "Oh," Mottlekit mewed. That explained it. He wondered what it was like to be immortal. Wouldn't it be sad, if all of your kin had died long ago but you still had to keep living? And what if it got boring after a while? Mottlekit didn't have any kin, though, at least that he knew of, so he wouldn't mind being immortal. Just as long as he had something to keep him occupied for, well, eternity. The thought of eternity was a bit hard for him to grasp, though, so he switched his thoughts to a different subject. "Um, well..." he began to reply, "I don't really know." Mottlekit's daily routine consisted mostly of sleeping, eating, and trying to stay away from Yellowkit and her friends. He didn't have time for much else. As a result, he didn't really talk or play any games with other kits. And, eventually, it had just become a normal thing. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Yewkit "Okay," Yewkit mewed, nodding. She continued creeping along the ground in her crouch, being careful to keep silent. It was difficult, but she did have nature on her side. Any dry leaves or twigs that would make noise when stepped on moved around her paws, making way for her to stalk along. Her power helped her stay silent when she might not have been able to on her own. Turning back to Goldspark, she gave her an inquiring look to ask if she had done it right.

"Oh, of course!" she mewed cheerfully, climbing out of where she was sitting in her moss nest (contemplating life) and padding to the she-cat. "I'm sure she's around here somewhere." Feeling that the den was beginning to get crowded, she mewed, "Why don't we all head into the cavern, where I can find Snowkit and Cloudkit and introduce you both to them?" she asked. She didn't want to be rude, and she was very glad that more cats were coming to her Home to adopt kits, but her den really didn't have enough room for more than one cat.

They were both white, and both had fairly obvious powers, so they shouldn't have been hard to find. After a moment, she saw Cloudkit sitting near the dens, cleaning her soft fur, but she didn't see Snowkit. She must be in her den, Maplestone deduced, padding to the brambles to find out if she was right.

"Very good. I think you will be a very good hunter when you're older." Goldspark smiled. Together they found a way to use Yewkit's power for hunting without making her uncomfortable. "The other basic rule is: a mouse can feel you before it hears you, so put your paws down very lightly" she said and showed Yewkit how to do it.

Torrent smiled at the other she-cat, happy to meet new cats. "I'm Torrent. I'm here to see Cloudkit." Torrent mewed, her tail flicking in excitement. As soon as they got to the cavern, Torrent spotted little Cloudkit, grooming her fur. Torrent's smile grew even bigger and her tail lashed faster. She turned to Maplestone, asking for permission to see Cloudkit. Oh, she was so excited! "May I meet Cloudkit?" Asked Torrent, nodding in Cloudkit's direction.

"Go right ahead." Then, after she saw that Torrent had found the kit she wanted to see, she turned to look for Snowkit in the den for the youngest kits. As she poked her head inside, she saw the little she-kit sitting in the corner. Feeling a claw of sympathy pierce her heart, she mewed softly, "Snowkit, someone's here to see you."

Rattlesnake nodded his head, understanding. "The 'if I stepped on a butterfly' part. The smallest change now can effect the future. Yes, I'm aware of the theory." He blinked, realizing he might have just used a bit more of what a twoleg might say than what a cat would. He added, "I've...met cats with similar powers before." He could sense the she-cat's distress with her powers, could hear it in her voice. He titled his head at her. "No power comes without weakness. You just learn to live with it, to compensate and to work through it."
--
Dream seemed to find this a good excuse to say, "Would you like to find out? What you're interested in, I mean? I'm going to be here for a little and I'd love to take advantage of getting to know you more." He grinned. He really was doing is best here, but the only kit he'd ever adopted was Patch. He wasn't sure if that had been because Rattlesnake had talked to the little kit first, either. So he was going to try his best to talk to Mottlekit. (Who's trying to get adopted here?)
