. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Fishkit Fishkit's grin grew as he crouched and prepared to dart past the line. He waited for a moment, then tried to go when Ambermist wouldn't expect it. He dashed around the tom and then waited behind him to see what he would do. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Mistkit "It was a pond," Mistkit mewed, remembering the spot Storm used to bring her to. She remembered how it was surrounded by little flowers, and how the moss there was softer than any moss she'd ever felt. She remembered how much Ripplekit loved the place. "But I don't remember the way there." She sighed. It wasn't particularly close to the Home anyway, and she'd only been there once. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Mottlekit Mottlekit's stomach tightened at the question, and a lump in his throat kept him from answering. What if he thinks it's stupid? he fretted, his pelt crawling with nerves. Or useless? He knew he would have to tell Dream about his power eventually if he wanted to get adopted, but... why? Why did he have to tell him? Why did he even have his power in the first place? Couldn't he just be like the other kits, who all had interesting powers and were sure to get adopted? If he told Dream, he would think he was too dangerous and would decide not to adopt him. ...Wouldn't he? (I was inspired and I just had to make this. Sorry. c'x)

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Snowkit "Yes," Snowkit replied. "It's when the sun is all the way up in the sky." It was also often the hottest time of day when most of the kits preferred to be in the shade. Snowkit knew from experience. And she wasn't particularly fond of heat.

"Okay, so it would be about three hours until sunhigh." Miststrike motioned to the sun where it climbed higher in the sky every minute.

Goldspark turned her head around in search of a hiding place. Soon she spotted a small tree with a thick enough canopy for her to hide in. She jumped as high as she could and climbed to the first branches. Shutting off her sparky fur, Goldspark waited for Yewkit to find her.

Silverstorm nodded. "I'll see if it's ok with Maplestone if I can take you down there then." he purred. "It could be dangerous..." he added, testing the kit a little bit on his bravery. Though secretly, he fully intended to take Blazekit for practice anyway whether or not she agreed that it was ok. He'd be fine, right? It's not like they were doing something like stalking a badger or equally foolish.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Darkkit Darkkit thought it made a bit of sense, but he still didn't know how they would be able to get all the way out into the middle of the lake to catch the fish. It wasn't like it was just a little puddle. It was... pretty big. But, he was willing to wait and see what Hailstorm was going to do to get the fish.
Hailstorm noticed the look of dubiety Darkkit held on his face. "I'm assuming that you're wondering how I'm going to get our 'bait' all the way over there?" he asked, turning his head.

Maplestone360"I could find it," reassured Rattlesnake. "I can turn into a hawk. From above, it's very easy to find bodies of water. That is...if you want to go there. I'm sure that there is other places to test out hunting skills that isn't there." He sounded a little worried, not wanting to do something that Mistkit didn't want to do as well. This made his words stutter over each other just a little. -- Dream, as if sensing the growing panic within Mottlekit, said, "I should note that I don't care what your power is. I will neither find it stupid, nor will I feel it is something that can't be handled. One kit I know could control another cat's blood. Another tom I know can breath under water...which is super helpful if we ever actually lived near water. So I think that, if you do decide, and I'm not going to force you to tell me, nothing could shock me at this point."

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Snowkit "Oh, okay," Snowkit mewed, understanding. So, an hour was a long time, then. And when Miststrike had told her that it didn't take her an hour to get to the Home, she meant that it didn't take a long time. That makes sense, she thought. I guess. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Blazekit Blazekit smiled, grateful that Silverstorm was trying to find a way for him to practice his powers. He looked around the cavern for Maplestone, and he spotted her talking to her helper, Nightstreak, near the entrance of the cavern. They could talk to her right on their way out. "There she is," Blazekit mewed, flicking his tail at where Maplestone stood. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Yewkit "...9 ...10." When Yewkit opened her eyes, Goldspark was nowhere in sight. There wasn't a lot of undergrowth around her—there never was in pine forests—and Yewkit didn't think Goldspark would hide in the same spot she did earlier, so she looked up at the trees. The thick pine needles obscured her vision, but if she looked closely enough... she might've been able to spot Goldspark among the branches. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Darkkit Darkkit nodded, bewildered. He also wondered what they would do with such a big fish if they caught it. It would probably feed at least five cats, and twice the amount of kits. It was quite large, from what he saw of it. Do fish taste good? he wondered. I've never tried it. Most of the other kits say it's yucky. It looked like there was only one way to find out. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Mistkit Mistkit hesitated. "Well..." she started. "It's where Storm lives—where she used to live, anyway—and I don't want to bother her if she's still there." She honestly just didn't want to see Storm either. It would bring painful memories to her mind. I doubt she would even remember me, she thought with a scoff. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Mottlekit I bet I could prove you wrong, Mottlekit thought wryly. In fact, I bet half of the cats in this Home could prove you wrong. But, no matter how much he didn't want to, he had to admit: not telling Dream about his power would be just as bad as, if not worse than, telling him. He had no chance of getting adopted if no cat knew what he could do; they wouldn't be able to protect themselves. So, it looked like he would just have to risk it. And if Dream reacted the way Mottlekit thought he would react, well, then... he'd better prepare to spend the rest of his life deep in the mountain in the warriors' den with the other cats that were so dangerous they couldn't be controlled. "I..." He took a deep breath. "I... blow up... literally. Usually whenever I'm mad."

Silverstorm bounded over to Maplestone and dipped his head in greeting, "I was wondering if I might take Blazekit out near some water so I could help him practice his powers?" He said coolly, "I can make a small fire with my own powers to help him learn how to control his you see, but I'd just like to be near water for safety reasons of course." His eyes glittered slightly, and he wondered for a moment who was more excited to test his powers, him or Blazekit?

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Maplestone When Nightstreak had padded off to the fresh-kill pile, Maplestone turned to see Blazekit and his possible adopter coming towards her. "Sure!" she agreed. "He would like that. He doesn't get to try out his power very often." She flicked her tail towards the entrance. "But be careful when you're walking down the pathway; it gets slippery when it's wet."

In all honesty, Hailstorm didn't exactly have a plan to get the fish, but he knew he could improvise. He scanned around the area, hoping to find something that could fool the simple-minded creature. At last he identified something that could help: a snail. He cast a glance at Darkkit to see if he was watching, then took a fairly long stick and stabbed the poor thing, cementing it on the end of the stick. Then, he cast the now dead snail and the stick onto the surface of the water, causing several ripples. He swished his tail to the side in satisfaction. "Now," he mewed, "we wait."

"Then a new place," suggested Rattlesnake. "A new place to hunt work for you?" He didn't want make Mistkit relive memories she might not want to address. "How about we just go for a walk to start off with? Would that work better for you?" -- "Hum?" said Dream, like he didn't understand. But then he just nodded and said, "Alright. I can see why that might worry you. I assume that you can reform yourself, otherwise you wouldn't be standing here." His tail flicked. He didn't seem scared or unnerved. "How bad of 'blow up'? Just you, or the nearby area?" He was taking it a lot better than Mottlekit seemed to think he would. For Dream, this was all...normal.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Nettlekit "A few moons," Nettlekit replied. "Not too long, but long enough." He hadn't been at the Home as long as some other kits, who'd been there for almost their whole lives; he'd only been there for about half of his time living. But it was long enough for him to learn that most cats didn't like kits like him, and that he was lucky to still be living at all. Fallenstar nodded. She wasn't sure what to ask him that wouldn't potentially make him nervous or upset. "What do you like to do?" She finally asked. "Do you have a favorite hobby?" (Sorry I have been absent. My computer had some issue but mom and dad got me a new one for my birthday so I am back.))

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Blazekit Blazekit happily bounded towards the entrance of the cavern, hopping over the small stream as he went, and waited for Silverstorm at the end. He could see the lake beside the pathway that led to it, calm and still unlike the loud, rushing waterfall that towered behind it. He noticed that there were already a few other cats and kits by the lake, and it seemed he and Silverstorm wouldn't be the only ones there. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Darkkit Darkkit watched as the stick and the snail lazily drifted towards the center of the lake, causing more ripples and disturbing a rather colorful dragonfly as they went. Do fish even eat snails? he wondered skeptically. No matter, the fish had already noticed the snail and was cautiously swimming up to it to examine it and decide whether or not it was edible. Darkkit looked on intently to see what Hailstorm, and the fish, would do. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Mistkit Mistkit nodded. "That sounds alright," she mewed. She was grateful that Rattlesnake hadn't insisted on going to the old pond, and had instead offered to go somewhere else. She didn't think she honestly ever wanted to go there again, even if she'd known that Storm and Ripplekit weren't there. It was just too much to deal with. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Mottlekit Mottlekit blinked. Then blinked again. Dream hadn't screeched. Or growled. Or glared. Or doubled back in shock. He hadn't even seemed concerned. Maybe he didn't know exactly what Mottlekit meant. He'd better clarify. "Uh... It depends. On how mad I am at the moment, and how much I can control my power. Maplestone says everyone's power gets stronger as they grow, so... it might be something really dangerous to deal with someday." Mottlekit shrugged like he didn't really know or care, but deep down, he was terrified of the possibility of having a power that controlled him instead of him controlling it. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Snowkit Snowkit thought for a moment, then gave a small shrug, unsure of what to say. "I don't know," she admitted. It wasn't every day she got to talk to a cat who wanted to adopt her. And she didn't know if anything she liked to do would sound interesting to Miststrike. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Yewkit Yewkit thought she spotted the smallest flicker of movement in the trees, just the tiniest bit, so she focused on it closer. And if she stared just enough, to the point where her eyes almost hurt, she could faintly see a bright gold through the gaps in the branches, that could only be Goldspark's pelt. Grinning, she used her powers to part the leaves slightly, revealing Goldspark's hiding spot. "Found you!" she cheered. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Nettlekit "Hmn," Nettlekit mewed, thinking a bit about what he liked to do. "Favorite hobby." He clicked his tongue as he thought, a small habit of his. "I guess I like to practice the hunting and fighting moves I know," he replied. Which wasn't very much, since he was still a kit and technically shouldn't be learning to hunt or fight. All he knew were things he'd manged to convince the trainees to tell him.

Standing and turning, Rattlesnake looked back at Mistkit and said cheerfully, "Come on! There's new places to visit." He laid the tip of his long tail on her shoulder, as if sensing that she wasn't not exactly at peace within her own mind. But he said nothing about. She'd talk if she wanted to. He started walking for the entrance.
--
Dream scratched at his side, still not looking concerned. "Hum. Really? Okay then." He still didn't look concerned. But that didn't mean he didn't get the seriousness of the matter and he hurried to explain. "We, my group and my mate, are used to helping cats with their powers. This wouldn't be the first time that we have come across kits or apprentice or even full grown cats that can't control their powers or that had powers that were stronger than others. We helped them deal with it and learn. And even if you are 'dangerous', then we're prepared for that. That's how our life works. It's okay."

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Goldenkit Goldenkit tilted her head. "Why would everyone want to be a medicine cat? Don't they just hunt for yucky herbs and heal cats all the time?" She didn't know much about medicine cats. She only heard them mentioned a few times. In the Home, every cat was safe, and they never experienced any battles or severe sicknesses, so they didn't really need a medicine cat, other than Maplestone, of course. Maplestone had a fairly wide knowledge of herbs, and was able to keep the kits healthy just fine. Goldenkit shrugged to herself. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mistkit Mistkit grinned, amused by Rattlesnake's impressions. "No, they can't," she agreed. "It's good to know you're not loud or aggravating." She flicked her tail, thinking to herself, He doesn't seem like he's going to turn out evil. I guess... I guess he seems alright. Normal, even. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad for him to adopt me.
[ Congrats! Your kit has leveled up to ! ](Let's make this go quicker than what happened with Silverkit. cx) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mottlekit "I don't think you would want my power. You'd probably think it's annoying, and-" Mottlekit almost said "and useless" but he stopped himself with a wince, "-and it wouldn't help you survive at all; not like your power." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Yewkit Yewkit did her best to copy Goldspark's hunter's crouch, tucking her paws in and keeping her tail low. She didn't know if she was doing it right, but she crept forward anyway, stopping when she came next to Goldspark. She looked up at her for confirmation that she had succeeded. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Fishkit Fishkit nodded in understanding. It seemed simple enough, and he was willing to try it. He'd never backed down from a challenge before, after all. "Alright. Let's play it."(Same. x_x) (Not sure if this is where I left off, but sorry for poofing for so long. I'm just gonna type up a reply to this. I'm going to try to be more active.)
"Medicine cats do way more than that," Daffodilstar elaborated. "They're the ones that heal everyone; they save lives! They also are the only cats that communicate with StarClan-every single moon. They interpret omens from StarClan, keep the Clan healthy, and are the peacemakers among Clans a lot of the time. Without my medicine cat, I know I would be lost. I wouldn't have the advice of StarClan, and not the input of a cat that always had others' lives in mind, no matter what." She shook her head, flicking her tail tip as she took a breath. It'd been a while since she'd breathed, she need to slow down. "Medicine cats might be more important than the leader, honestly." She gave Goldenkit a slightly disapproving look. "Don't ever put them down about their job-they are the ones who keep you alive a lot of the time."
