There are three paths that you must take. Choices you must make. If you choose Jewels you get to choose your own path but you only have 0 points you may get 15 points if you choose wisely. If you choose symbols you take a test by yourself. You many gain 30+ points from this but you start off with -17 points. If you choose Journey you start off with 17 points. You will win another 10 points if you complete the challenge. Your goal is to have the highest amount of points at the end. Discuss this with your comrades. The book reads.

So she has to get as many points as possible... So she could get as many as 15 points from Jewels, 13 (although possibly more) from Symbols, and 27 from Journey... taking net totals into account. Journey seemed the most reliable, but possibly had danger to balance it out...

"You are warm, but also very, very cold." The man smiles. "Your initiation test begins." A book appears behind the man and he disappeared. "Ooooookay. Random book." Tom looked around, hoping the man was really gone. Should he try and get the girl out of that room again or should he check the book?

Behind him he hears Sand banging on the door behind him. "Somebody get me out of here!" She grumbles. But the book seems to be important too. It is labeled. Planning the Quest. What does he choose? Save Sand or learn much more about the quest?
Maia reads more. Journey may seem like the right choice, but if you fail even once, you are out. Also these are the only choices. Only one person may pick Journey, one person pick Jewels, and the same for Symbols. You have two chances to mess up in Jewels, and three in Symbols.

Yep. Risk and reward. If there were three people, one would have to pick the most dangerous one. Maia would probably decide based on who was with her. Best to figure that out once they met.

Maia reads more But remember, ponder this well. If you fail you will be lost forever. This is your first round after the initiation test.

Behind him he hears Sand banging on the door behind him. "Somebody get me out of here!" She grumbles. But the book seems to be important too. It is labeled. Planning the Quest. What does he choose? Save Sand or learn much more about the quest? At Sand's words Tom made his choice. He trotted over to the door and pulled at it, hoping it would open. "I'm coming!" he said. Who needed information on a quest anyway. Not knowing was part of the fun.

"I used to be part of this quest..." Nogi sighed.
Sand comes rushing out of the door, a gash down her back. It was deep and bleeding. Sand tried to cover it with her hand. "I-it's nothing." She stammered.

Maia looks up from the book. "Really? Is that why you're here?"

"No, and yes." Nogi says. "I was on this quest and we were almost done when my fiancé, Odin, failed. Well, we all failed. I watched him die. Get eaten by a dragon. All of my friends died, but my father saved me." A tear slid down her cheek.

Maia looks down at the book. "That must have been horrible..." Her mind wanders to the dragon from the town. Was that the same dragon as the one Nogi mentioned?

Nogi shakes her head. "But that was the past. Even though I don't want you to die I just love playing with you." Nogi says.

"Well... I'm gonna try my best not to die. Or, at the very least, help everyone else that's here." Maia nodded to herself. If need be, she'd take Journey to help the others.

"Very honorable." Nogi smiles. "But what if you die? Aren't you afraid of that?"

"Well, it's a scary thought but..." Maia pauses. "It's a risk I have to take, right? I feel like there's something I need to do here. Plus, I want to get my memories back..."

"Smart." Nogi says. "But I'm not sure you're going to feel the same once you know the real truth about this quest."

Maia is silent for a moment, then nods. "I guess I'll have to sort everything out when I learn that truth, whatever it is. No point on dwelling on it if I don't know anything about what I'm doing."

"One question, do you know who I am?" Nogi asks.

"I know you're name's Nogi, but... if we've met before, I don't remember," Maia says. She tries to remember anything about the girl in front of her, but everything from before she appeared here is too fuzzy to remember. Kind of like trying to remember a dream from last night.

She stammered. "I'm really starting to wonder what is in that room," said Tom. He took out a cloth from his back pocket and passed it to Sand. "Here, press down on that gash."

The fairies did not respond. The book read Cloud is a spirit from long forgotten time. She is one of the game masters.Hana glanced at Cloud. She knew there was reason to be afraid. Hana looked at the book before flipping the page quietly.

Sand grabs the cloth and presses down on the cut. "This is what happens when you get bit by a baby dragon." She says.
Unknown to her, Cloud is Sand's daughter. Cloud refuses to tell her mother this. The book reads.

"Baby dragons?" asked Tom, raising an eyebrow. "Alright then." He turned and stalked for the door that he'd just let Sand out of. He was going to see this odd room for himself.
