As Tom picks up one of the books and flips it to chapter 1, it reads Past the boat is a cave, with another game in it. Only one person is required for this game.

Maia reaches out to touch the new symbol, giving a quick glance around the room to see if anything else has appeared. The eye glows with a red light and blinks. A door opens to the right of Maia and the man appears again. "You have been very smart so far." He says. "This game will be only for you. This game will test if you are ready."

Maia hesitates, then nods. Might as well get this over with. Besides, there wasn't much else she could do.

Tom walks down the last remaining aisle. Though I haven't seen a boat yet, he thought. Wonder how that's going to go. Once again, he took a book at random. This place might supply him with information on the treasure he was looking for or it might just give him useless information on emeralds.

Maia is sucked into the door. The door slams shut behind her. She is in a dark room with no light. We know you like Riddles. The Lost murmer. Answer this one: A thief enters a shop and threatens the clerk, forcing him to open the safe. The clerk says, "The code for the safe is different every day, and if you hurt me you'll never get the code". But the thief manages to guess the code on his own How did he do it? The Lost sound...Different. More like an old woman.

As Tom flips to chapter 1 in the book, it shows a picture of a green, heart shaped jewel. It reads The Jewel of Spring. The ancients used to use this Jewel to change the season to Spring, at least that's what the story says.

"So he either worked there himself, or... found what the code was from a paper or something." Both of her guesses were hesitant, but it was the best she could offer.

Not quite. The Lost murmer. Look at this line again: The code for the safe is different every day, and if you hurt me you'll never get the code.

(You finally haven't guessed it on the first answer! I was afraid you'd guess it right away!)

Not quite. The Lost murmer. Look at this line again: The code for the safe is different every day, and if you hurt me you'll never get the code. (Busy day! Sorry for not replying sooner!) "'If you'll hurt me you'll never get the code'... In that case, the person was never hurt. So they gave the code? Or maybe... the person came back, say, every Monday, and tried to guess it, since it's different every day but may repeat," Maia says.

Didn't the man say the code was Different every day? You're so close my dear! The Lost seem to get closer and closer toward her, Maia can't see them but see can feel them. She can feel their breath down her neck, warm, hot, sticky breath.

"That's... that's the code! Different!" Maia shouts. How did she not see that before? She had been focused on the thief and frequency, but never thought of that word as more than an adjective.

Maia feels, long fingernails clack on her shoulders. Hands grab her shoulders, but they don't feel like any hands. Old, wrinkled hands. Maia can feel the bones. Very good my dear. This time Maia hears their voices right next to her ear.

"Um, thanks..." That's all Maia can really say at this point. She's too focused on her pounding heart to say much else. Whoever the Lost, or... whoever this woman is, they don't seem evil, but it still creeps her out.

We'll guide you through. The Lost say in a creepy way. The hands grab her hands and help her walk forward through the dark room. Right in front of you. The Lost sound really strange now. Should Maia trust them, or not? What should she do?

Maia closes her eyes as they walk. Sight is useless in this darkness. Maybe she can hear where they are taking her... Besides, the grip on her hands is strong...

As Maia walks forward she hits a wall, or is it a wall. She reaches out, and feels a door knob. It feels as smooth as marble. The hand and The Lost seem to disappear, and now there is just Maia in the room, or maybe not...

Maia opens her eyes and slowly turns the knob. At least the Lost hadn't lead her into a death trap... as far as she could tell.

As she opens the door, the sounds of birds singing fills her ears. Light blinds her. But then she is back in the room, and the door is still closed. She is back at the start. She hears a man's voice. "It was bad to trust the Lost, they like to play with you. Always remember to challenge and question. If I wouldn't have stopped you from entering the room, you would have stayed there forever. Remember, I won't be able to save you every time."

So the Lost weren't totally benevolent. Alright, that was good to keep in mind. It kind of reminded Maia of stories of fairies... "Thank you. I'll be more careful next time."

The light flickered on in the room. There was a very small dresser with another (Yes, another.) Riddle on it. "This is your last Riddle, I promise, then something new will happen." The man said. The Riddle said Look in my face, I am somebody; Look in my back, I am nobody.

Maia smiles a little. After that riddle from the Lost, this riddle feels much easier. "It's either a mirror or a picture. The back of either one is blank, while you can see a person on the front. I guess a coin can apply, too..."

"Very nice. I made that one easy for you." The man says. "Now, what do you want to know next? Anything, It can be about me, the Lost, The Jewels."

"What are the Lost? They took the form of a... woman, and sound like a lot of different voices, but I still have no idea why," Maia says.

The man quiets down. "I...Can't you ask any other question? I...Just...Don't feel comfortable." a grim expression is on his face.

Maia looks confused, but nods. It seems like a touchy subject. "Alright, then. Can you tell me about these Jewels?"

"Well, the jewels are used for changing the Seasons. If you find the green one and it's statue, and put the jewel in the statue, it will change the Season to spring, and so forth." The man says.
