The male kestrel abandoned his defensive post and spiraled down, opening his wings just before he would've splatted into the ground, and quickly hid behind a nearby trashcan.
(Trashcan works, right? They're in a city?)

Tinnicus's Accuracy is tested...
His talons sink into the shadow mass as it darts into the trash can, causing it to emit a harsh static sound. It lets out a few startled sparks that snap at the bird's feet.
The statue breaks, flashing a bright white. The group finds themselves in the main room, feeling more awake...

A new path is open, and a new shadowy door has also appeared.

"What..." Ilex heard some thumps behind her, and looking back, "I don't know if...if I should stay here...all alone..." she whispered and yelled out, "Guys come on! I'm...wait what?" she turned back, and frowned, "That's odd..." she started to head back for the door, trying to exit it.

Wildfire remembers something. Creamy pretends as though he is remembering something. But now, well, he's no longer in the field. But back in the room. For a minute he was startled, but he shook it off, flapping his wings briefly as he acted that he didn't just fall onto the floor. He puffed out his chest quickly and landed on the floor before wincing as he recalled one of his legs being harmed. He took in a breath and looked to anyone else in there with pride, ha. He did that all by himself.
