Littlespring was shocked to say the least. She never would have guessed Sandtail though it did makes sense. Things just got interesting!

Duskstorm tensed, and glowered slightly at Sandstripe. She'd just killed herself instead of placing trust into her castlemates. There was nothing Duskstorm could do for her now. He turned his head away and sat, leaning up against Dewfern to offer her comfort.

--Thunderheart & Sandstripe (lol awkward rping with myself)
Thunderheart froze. He stared long and hard at Sandstripe.
"You're lying," he said slowly. "You're lying to protect them."
Sanstripe shook her head, bile rising in her throat. "I poisoned your brother, Thunderheart. I've been growing the poison for moons in behind my den in the garden. You can go look for yourself."
"You're lying!" Thunderheart's fur bristled, making him look more terrified than angry. "What possible reason would you have to do something like this?"
"We're falling apart, Thunderheart! Look at what he's done to his own daughter! Look at what you're doing! You and your brother are unfit to rule us, and I was the only one with the courage and the means to do something!"
Thunderheart felt his legs shaking. Sandstripe had been the one cat left he felt that he could trust. They had grown up together. She had been by his family's side through every injury and illness. For a while, he had believed that Stoneheart would choose her to be his queen. And now even she had turned against him. What should he do? What would Stoneheart do?
Thunderheart bared his teeth. "Kill her!" he shrieked. "Throw her in the rat's nest, rip her eyes out, I don't care! Don't let her get away!"
Sandstripe knew she couldn't outrun them, but she was too terrified to stay still. She turned tail and ran, bolting for the bridge. She had little chance of surviving in the heath, but she figured her odds were better out there than in here.
"After her!" Thunderheart yowled.

- - Dewfern
Dewfern anxiously shuddered at the sight of Sandstripe's feeling tail. "D-Duskstorm, we have to go!" The princess turned to the tom leaning on her fur and gave him a nudge. "We've got to..," she trailed off quickly, darting after the herbalist. She saw her heading for bridge with wide eyes. How could she do this? What about my mom and my brother? She was the one treating them! She was the one we trusted! she thought, more confused and startled than furious. The fury would have to wait for when she sorted this out. Why would she do this..? "Sandstripe get back here!" she screeched as her paws hit the stone.

- - Dewfern
Dewfern felt a smile slowly spread across her face as she heard the royal guard come up next to her. "Feel free to get a few blows in. I'm not sure that I could..," she mewed, turning her gaze back to the running herbalist. "But I want my father to have the final punishment for her. Thank you for this." The princess wasn't sure what she would do if she touched Sandstripe. She'd been her friend for the longest time, so part of her was praying to the ancestors that this was a misunderstanding.

Greywind nodded, "You need to keep up your family's image princess, we both know Sandstripe wont be the last, and probably wasnt the first, to plot against the king. Getting the king to order the execution will show hes still fit to rule." She turned her sharp amber gaze to the herbalist infront. She was close now; if she wanted to, the grey shecat could make up the space now and be done with it, but she had more to say to the royal. "I respect that you don't feel... up for this, but it would be good to get...ivolved!" She took a second too choose her wording, not wanting to upset the Royal further. "Prove cats like Sandstripe wrong, show them that you are strong and not affraid to lay down the law too." She decided not to wait for the princess' reply, leaving it up to her to make a desision. She felt like she may have overstepped her mark, but if the king was overfrown she was just as dead as the shecat beside her. This chase had gone on for long enough in her opinion so she stretched her stride to catch up to Sandstripe. Greywind growled loudly and tackled the herbalist to the hard cobles, letting her claws sink down into the traitors ginger flank.

Duskstorm turned and followed Dewfern, eyes slightly wide, and his heart hammering in his chest. He didn't know what to do. He loved Sandstripe, and he believed in everything that she believed in- but he couldn't deny he was placing his trust in Dewfern, and that he was seriously starting to feel something for her. It wasn't good. It wasn't good at all. Fox ran beneath him, the determined little warrior as unsure as he was. 'I don't trust Thunderheart!' She cried, looking up, wide eyed, at the Tom. Duskstorm looked down at her, tail and fur bristling. 'Me neither.' He replied, shakily. 'What happens if we refuse to catch her?' 'I assume they'll kill us.' 'But... this feels wrong!' 'They'll kill her either way.' Duskstorm croaked, ears flattening against his head. He sped up, using his lithe and long legs to easily overtake the other cats, swiftly gaining on Sandstripe. He drew closer and closer, until he was at her flank. 'Where will you go?' He hurriedly asked. 'What will you do?' He leapt back when Greywind attacked her, hissing with panic, adrenaline surging through him. What should he do??? He had to choose!

Littlespring growled as she lashed her tail. A part of her wanted to take Thunderheart right now. However what would happen next? She would most likely be thrown in the rat's nest. No she was get Thunderheart another time. Rowantooth slowly pads up to his friend. "That's your thinking face. What are you planning?" Littlespring smirked and lowered her voice. "Thunderheart's demise. I'm thinking a happy little accident."
Ripplestorm being the loyal guard raced after Sandstripe. She would pay for harming the king! Ripplestorm lets his emotions shut down ready to kill if the need arises.

((I don't know which side to choose either lol))
--Sandstripe
Sandstripe glanced at Duskstorm. Her eyes glimmered as she processed his question.
"I'm probably going to die," she said. "Just promise me it won't be in vain. Don't let Stoneheart--" She screeched as Greywind barreled into her, going into a blind panic and flailing her limbs wildly. She had never been in a real fight in her life, always scheming behind the scenes and letting other people risk their lives in her place. But she desperately wanted to live, and she wasn't ashamed to make this scene uglier than it already was.
"Let me go! Let me go!" she wailed. "I won't come back! I won't hurt anyone again! Just please let me live!"
--Thunderheart
Thunderheart chased after Greywind, pausing in front of Dewfern. He took one last look at her, and something softened in his eyes, giving him a semblance of his old self.
"Please Dewfern," he said quietly, "I don't want you to see this. Go and check on your father." Without waiting for a response, he ran after the rest of the cats.

Fox slammed her small body into Greywind, spitting and hissing viciously as she moved to stand in front of Sandstripe. 'Enough!!! We caught her!!!' She yowled, her fur puffing up to make herself look bigger. Duskstorm hurriedly moved to stand over her as well, ears flat against his head as he turned to face Thunderheart, slowly lowering his head. Duskstorm wasn't one for fights; he was a hunter; so this was the most stressed he'd been in a while.

(Don't let Stoneheart follow his StoneHEART)
(Feel free to try to end Dewfern too if you want. She might check on him later... >:3)
- - Dewfern
As Thunderheart asked her the question, Dewfern felt herself wonder once again if she should retreat to the safety of her home and forget about everything that had happened. But she couldn't. And Thunderheart asking her this was only a way to protect her image of him. "I'm an adult, Uncle," she growled. "I've seen everything you're capable of." She felt an immediate pang of guilt after she said it, but forced it back with a flick of her silver ear. "I'll check on him later." She stared down at Sandstripe. Oh no. No, don't ask this of her. Don't make me feel bad for you.., Dewfern thought, trying not to remember how she had cared for her family during the greencough.

'If I can take Thunderheart I can take you too!' Fox yowled. 'Fox, calm down. Don't escalate the situation.' Duskstorm quickly said, finally making his decision to take the diplomatic route. Things were getting ugly, and fast. 'There is no need to end this with violence.' He flattened down his fur, trying to take the appearance of calm, glancing between Greywind and Thunderheart, who was approaching. Fox hissed, baring her teeth at the she-cat, her tail lashing furiously. 'Are we a castle full of barbarians?' Duskstorm demanded, straightening up. 'Is this now how we handle things? A cathunt, ending in the violent death of a member of our castle, who is well known to all, whom guided us through our harsh period of greencough?' He straightened up, taking a few breaths to calm himself further. 'The way that Sandstripe has handled matters is wrong; but dealing with her in the way that is currently happening is even worse. We are not barbaric. We do not mindlessly murder our own. It is time that tensions were settled and decisions were made.' The more he spoke, the more confident he felt, swivelling his ears forward, his tail lifting slightly. Duskstorm hated being in the spotlight, but he had to ease the atmosphere. 'Thunderheart; perhaps it is time you considered the reasons as to why the tensions in the castle are so high, and as to why someone, such as Sandstripe, would attempt to kill the king.' He calmly said. 'Is it not time we spoke up and reasoned with one another? Look at yourselves!! Your eyes a full of bloodlust and your claws are flashing like a badger. Enough is enough. This is becoming wildly out of hand. All it is showing us is how out of control you are becoming, Thunderheart. To kill without trial is wrong.'

"Duskstorm is right!" Ripplestorm mewed walking over. "We aren't rogues! We are civilized cats!" He felt embarrassed considering how mad he had been only moments before. Duskstorm's speech reminded him who he was. Besides, he needed to be a good example for Fox.

Fox tensed as her mentor spoke up, turning to look at him with wide eyes. Slowly, she began to calm herself- a difficult task, considering how wired the she-cat always was. Trusting Duskstorm to handle the situation, she trotted quickly over to Ripplestorm and pushed herself beneath him, panting heavily, and shaking from the adrenaline in her body.

(( Bloodrose don't let Stoneheart be Stoneheart also dang I think that's the speech that can finally shut Thunderheart down good job Duskstorm)) ((@hawkeyes II was actually going to have Stoneheart wake up soon, but he'll still be in a weakened state so if you wanna go send someone I have no issue with that lmao. I actually have no idea if there are any guards with him, like.. Thunderheart might have freaked out and just left him totally unguarded bc he's dumb)) --Sandstripe Sandstripe flattened herself to the ground, panting heavily. No one was attacking her at the moment, but she still managed to make it sound like she was dying. --Thunderheart Thunderheart slowed down and lifted his ears as Duskstorm spoke. He looked around and, finally, he seemed to realize the image he was projecting. After a calm, carefully worded speech like that, continuing to act violently would only end in more hatred for his family. Thunderheart began to realize that he had, over the past day, nearly ruined everything that his family had built over their lifetimes. He took a deep breath and looked at Sandstripe, then at Greywind. "Help her up," he said. "Take her back to the garden and confiscate all her herbs, including the poison. I want her under constant supervision until my brother and we decide what to do with her." He turned around and walked toward the Ancestor's Hall without stating why; maybe he unconsciously wanted guidance from his ancestors.

((Sweet Jesus that was stressful XD))
Duskstorm released a slow and shaking breath, the tension in his body slowly leaving him. He politely stepped aside and nudged Sandstripe to her feet, before sitting down, the panic of the moment already pulling exhaustion down on him. He'd done it. He'd calmed them down. Now that was an achievement he could be proud of. He glanced over at little fox, who was clearly exhausted- she'd barely slept over the past few days, if at all, and this final chase had taken whatever was left out of her. He turned his head to look towards Dewfern, worried as to whether he had done the right thing. Wolfbite limped towards him, heaving himself with a grunt to sit down, and looked at Duskstorm. 'Looks like the sgraggly little runt has some uses after all.' He playfully said, while Duskstorm released a breathy laugh, leaning into his mentor for comfort.
