So it's been around 6-9 months since I've last rped, but I decided to pick it up again, and see if i can make it stick again. Yeah, I understand that this isn't the most appealing thing to say in an attempt to rp, and I apologize if I manage to lose interest. Yeah. /endDisclaimer
The actual plot: In an average sized suburban town, a streak of crime stained the community, burglarizing homes, hitting banks, and holding up stores. The police were all over it immediately, having been one of the more major criminal events in the town’s history. However, the criminal crew were clean with their work, no one injured or dead, identity completely concealed, extremely fast operation time, and nearly no evidence was left for the police to work with. Surveillance footage showed a constant rotation in dress, gloves constantly being worn, and escape methods entirely sporadic and very few valid witnesses that contributed to the case. After a few months of terror, the group had suddenly disappeared without a trace, and the trail stopped dead. Police were confused, and there were no reports of violent crime anywhere in the neighboring cities that matched these criminals. Now, a young man turns up with amnesia in the very same town. Here’s where your character comes in. They decide generously to take in the man out of pity, despite what recent events may have been occurring. After a short amount of time, your character begins to notice that his personality isn’t what they thought an amnesiac would be like. They begin to notice talents that he has that are abnormal, and with his rather crude nature, begin to connect the dots. Slowly, they begin to theorize that he is connected directly to the criminals that once plagued the peaceful city. Accidentally, they mention something publicly, and the suspicion is brought to the attention of the investigation team (by some undetermined means), and now they think that your character knows something. The question is, do they turn them in for the good of the general public, or do they cover for them, retaining the original pity that they had for him in the first place? Or do they question his credibility as an amnesiac at all? Perhaps it was just a casing job, or maybe he was trying to drop any heat he picked up. It may be possible that he was just trying to use your character, and throw them under the bus. Does your character even have the mental fortitude to withstand the paranoia? There’s a possibility for anything, and everything. Should make for some fun, yeah?

Romance is not mandatory, and might actually cut out some interesting conflict if it is included, so if it develops, let it develop late

Antoinette 'Toni' Weathers is a delicate looking 5'6" girl with slightly tanned skin and messy auburn hair. Her eyes are a bright green that hold a happiness you wouldn't expect at a time like this. While she has a very mature looking body, her face is very childlike and innocent looking, making her seem delicate, thus causing Toni to become self conscious at times. As a writer, Toni tends to overthink at times and normally overreacts to minuscule problems. As the daughter of a successful councilman and a reporter for the local paper, Toni is often running around doing favors for the city. She has a taste for bright colors, mainly flower patterned dresses. Occasionally, she changes things up and wears mainly leather. Toni is very quirky, something that can be promised the minute she gives a subtle smile. Whenever she gets bored, she scribbles stars on the cuff of her jeans or the bottom of her shoes and does small, unnecessary things like ask you random, personal questions to get to know you better or even blurts random, useless facts. She's like the funny older sister who plays mom. Those who have known her long have had to go through her indigo hair phase and have had to put up with her dancing, as if no ones watching, for far too long. She's kind and caring, although some are certain it's a front. Her dedication to protect others and make each day a great one comes from the loss of her younger brother which she blames on herself: Still, she tries not to let it bother her and uses it to spur her to get up each morning and do something of use. She tends to fiddle with everything, she's a naturally curious person and often has bandaids on her fingers after pricking them on something. Toni is very mature and a good listener, and tries her hardest to make everyone feel welcome. A serious acting Toni is a rare occasion and while it is for dire matters, to others it can become amusing due to the sudden shift in character. Unlike her normal carefree attitude, she is a firm believer in fighting for the cause and acts as a therapist and councilor at times.

The amnesiac spun on his heels and retreated back down the steps of the front porch belonging to the house that he was just denied shelter in. Letting out an exasperated sigh, he straightened his suit jacket and brushed his dress pants, and moved to the next house on the street. As he walked on the sidewalk, he used a hand to shield his eyes from the setting sun, and guessed that he didn't have much time left until nightfall. Another cold night awaited him if he couldn't find a courteous person that was willing to take in a stranger. He couldn't place it, but he picked up a feeling of wariness that came from everyone who had answered the door, and abnormally high suspicion when he made his request. It was strange to him, but he couldn't figure out what was wrong. The neighborhood seemed nice, and fairly high-end middle class housing with the occasional cluster of town homes made up the residential area.
Everything just felt... Off. But he shook the feeling, using his desire for comfort as motivation to find some proper place to stay. He picked up the pace, approached another door, straightened his posture, and knocked.

Her eyes narrowed as her fingers flew across the keyboard. After a few minutes of this, her eyes began to burn and she managed to tear them away from the bright screen. Pushing her glasses further up her slender nose, Toni leaned back in bed and yawned. Her deadline was quickly approaching and she was nowhere near her promised nine chapters. Her normally unruly hair was pulled up into a top knot, her delicate arms hidden under the long sleeves of the grey sweater she wore. With all of the lights out in the house, the glow from her laptop illuminated her silhouette. It was late, she hadn't slept all week with the stress her editor had forced on her, and all she wanted was to be calm for once in her life. The new blanket drapes around her shoulders did nothing to keep her focused, the warmth lulling her to her much needed sleep. Hearing someone pounding on her front door did nothing to help her reach this goal. Setting her laptop aside, Toni slid out of bed and cautiously switched her lights on. Climbing down the stairs slowly, she looked towards the front door and waited hesitantly. When the knocking continued, she approached the door and unlocked it before drawing it open enough to get a good look at the person interrupting her from her work. Her eyes widened slightly at the sight of the unfamiliar man and she habitually pushed her glasses up her nose. "May I help you?" She asked, studying him with slight concern. She knew everyone in this town, but not him. And why was such a man as himself out so late on a cold night like this dressed to the nines. Taking in his attire made her more aware of her own grey sweater paired with a faded pair of rainbow running shorts and bright pink fuzzy socks.

His thought process was as followed: If he cut out formalities, it would save him time. If he could ask as many people as possible, then he had an increased chance in being accepted. Accepting this as his new system, he implemented this tactic, eager to get out of the cold and clean up a little. A night spent on cardboard had the tendency to make him feel a little dirty.
Despite this unhygienic feeling, the man appeared relatively crisp other than odor. His short, dark brown hair was recently cut, he was clean shaven, and his adjusted posture brought him to a tall stature of 73 inches. His slender, pale face contrasted greatly with his attentive dark brown eyes.
The man flashed the most polite looking smile he could muster before cutting to the chase. "Please, miss, may I spend the night here? I don't know where I am," he requested, focusing so greatly on attempting to look sincere, that he barely acknowledged the appearance of the woman that stood before him. "I woke up a day ago and I lost my memory." Mentally, he braced himself for the common theme of a suspicious look, a polite but firm denial, and a door to the face.

"Amnesia?" She asked, her eyes widening slightly. "How peculiar." Opening her door slightly, she had to crane her head to look up at the man. "And you're in need of a place to stay. Well you've come to the right place I suppose." Fiddling with her sleeves, she questioned her suddenly stronger hospitable nature and blamed it on her strong procrastination skills; by helping others, she would have a good excuse as to why she hadn't written her promised nine chapters. Of course, Toni was a kind person, quite selfless as well, but one must be cautious when dealing with strangers who appear on ones porch in the middle of the night. But sleep deprivation leads to all sorts of idiotic ideas. "As long as you don't intend to kill me in my sleep and or make off with all of my worldly possessions, I don't see as to why you can't crash on my couch." Laughing at her own joke, her smile fell and she said in a serious tone, "You aren't a serial killer or criminal, are you? Because that would put a damper on the mood and I'd hate to cast you out on a night like this; weather man said it'll only get colder." Finally looking up at him again, she took in his expression and felt such sorrow that she had to stop herself from embracing the man. Settling for a handshake, she offered him her right hand and said, "You may not know your name, but that doesn't mean you don't have to know mine. Antoinette Weathers, although everyone calls me Toni. Could I maybe offer you a cup of coffee or tea? You must be freezing."

The man was surprised by the response that he had received. Expecting the worst, it took him a moment to realize that literally the opposite had just happened. "Oh, really? Thank you so much!" he exclaimed, trying to force a laugh for the joke that followed to get on his new host's good side. Unfortunately, this laugh ended up sounding more suspicious than he had intended.
As for her inquiry, he could only truthfully respond with, "No, I don't think so? I don't have anything on me, other than this strange sheet-metal card." He drew a slim, weighted steel Ace of Spades from his suit pocket. "Don't know what it's for, don't know why I have it. Maybe it's a good luck charm. You can check me for weapons and such if you'd like, but I can assure you that all I want just about now is a bed and a roof to sleep under," he explained earnestly, shrugging his shoulders as he subconsciously, yet expertly twirled it about his fingers.
He accepted her handshake with his remaining free hand and held a firm grip briefly before letting go. "Oh, no I think I do remember my name, actually. A Mr. Aleksandr Faust rings a bell, so I'll go with that for now. Nice to meet you, Toni. And yeah, I'd gladly accept coffee, if you don't mind. Sorry for makin' you do so much," he replied, his face holding an apologetic, yet grateful smile as he murmured the last sentence. As his dire need for shelter deteriorated, so did his rigid formal demeanor, although the latter was much slower.

"Honestly, I'm glad for the distraction Mr. Faust; I'm a writer and I have to meet a deadline in two days," Toni explained, leading the man to her well-lit kitchen. Rummaging around she laughed and said softly, "Forgive me but I don't drink coffee, I'm more of a tea person myself. I read once that coffee can kill you, but it's only fatal if you consume one hundred cups. Still, it's the second most traded commodity in the world. I have coffee grains somewhere around here...ahah!" Holding the red container up victoriously, she began measuring the rich grains and turned to look at the man over her shoulder. "What do you take in your coffee? Milk, honey, lemon....creamer?" Waiting for his response, Toni busied herself with plugging in the kettle and filling it with water. Quickly interrupting his response, Toni softly exclaimed, "You probably want to take a shower too, don't you? Not that you need one, it's just if I was in your position I'd take this opportunity to shower. And my ex left a ton of his stuff here, you look around his size, I'm sure he won't mind."

"Ah, black is fine, actually," he replied, nodding. He noted how she managed to go off on tangential subjects that made the conversation difficult to follow. These little tidbits of information and anecdotes would work in journalism, and wondered if it was her personality that made her pursue writing as a job, or the other way around. Although he didn't attach the idea to her quite yet because writer was a fairly vague job description. However, he still made the assumption that it was her permanent field of work based on the apparent fatigue that plagued her. "Yeah, if I could, that'd be great. Could you direct me to a bathroom that I can use?" he chose his words somewhat carefully, despite his initial impression of her was one of a rather easy-going nature. As the new information rapidly poured into his ears, he habitually made his best effort to make mental notes on information disclosed by her and analytics of her behavior.
(sorry about not being on a whole lot today, I was trying to get rid of a tension headache that's been bothering me the last few days :,) )

"Right this way," She smiled, gesturing with her head before walking to the downstairs bathroom. Pushing the door open, she walked to the closet and began rummaging. Pulling out a white t-shirt and some black running shorts, she offered them to the man as she hurriedly explained where everything was. "Towels in the linen closet, shampoo and conditioner in the shower rack—sorry they're kinda girly, although white grapefruit and mosa mint do wonders for the volume of your hair. Take as long as you need, the water doesn't run cold and not to brag, but this water pressure is unmatched." Smiling awkwardly next to the man, her eyes widened and she quickly rushed out of the bathroom. "I'll make your coffee so it's ready for when you get out," Toni shouted from the kitchen, busying herself with his coffee. "It's decaf so it won't keep you up if you want to sleep, which you probably do but who am I to judge, I hardly know you, not that I don't want to know you, it's just that I'm really really tired and I need to finish my deadline even though I'd rather die than do anything but sleep and I promise I'm not normally this high strung or talkative I'm just extremely sleep deprived and oh my god please say something so I can stop talking!"

Aleks thanked her, and was about to begin minding his business, but was slightly interrupted by Toni's rambling from the other room. Moderately surprised by her last few words, he blinked a few times, realizing that it was formality and general politeness that made him quieter and reserved. Not that he had a whole lot to disclose, but he understood this as an opportunity to grow a little more casual. He supposed it wouldn't hurt to wind down a little bit since she allowed him into her home. A bold decision for someone who seemingly lived alone. "Uh, maybe you should consider sleeping. Sounds like a pretty good idea to me, and you might be able to meet your deadline too, depending how much you gotta do. What kinda stuff you write?" he called, leaving the door open while he figured out how the shower worked, a look of slight irritation as he was reminded that every shower had to be just slightly different enough that it was a hassle to figure out. He begun utilizing the method of trial and error without breaking anything.

"I'm into everything really. My publisher favors my historical fictions but psychological thrillers and mysteries are my favorite, especially with everything that was going on in town a month ago." Sighing, she thought back to the good old days when she had inspiration. When crime plagued her beloved city and fear struck the hearts of everyone who saw themselves as the next target. Her mother had gone to town, writing paper after paper and doing anything in her power to get the freshest scoop while her father had promised to rain hell on the perpetrators. She herself had had a field day throughout the whole fiasco. Rubbing her eyes, she muttered to herself before calling out, "Your coffee will be ready for you when you get out, if you need me I'm upstairs, first door on the right." Yawning, she began to slowly trudge towards the stairs before shouting good night to her guest. Climbing into bed, she pulled her laptop onto her lap and began to log in before freezing. She really, really, really wanted to sleep. Pushing her computer aside, she pulled her blanket around her and immediately crashed, the bedside lamp still on.

hey car broke down for the second time this week hey hEY!)
The guy just looked at his reflection in the mirror, and shrugged slightly, having missed his guess. "Guess she literally meant writer," he mumbled to himself, as he prepared everything for when he was done while the shower warmed up. He was in and out within a few minutes, and upon exiting, he wandered over to where he thought the kitchen was. Unfortunately, it was not, and he found himself in a completely different room entirely. Bewildered, he walked back in the direction he came, and down the hallway once again, but this time in the right direction. He located the coffee pot exactly where it was previously, to no surprise. After pouring himself a cup, he decided to go on a mini house tour before he retired to a sofa that he saw in one of the rooms that he had accidentally walked into. "Nice place," he voiced to the empty rooms as he passed.

The endless beeping of her alarm clock sliced through the peacefulness of sleep and the young woman let out a groan of annoyance before shutting off the alarm. After painstakingly dragging herself out of bed, Toni took a quick shower to wake herself up before changing into a comfortably oversized t-shirt and capris leggings. Running her hands through her tangled and knotted hair, she descended the stairs two at a time, eager for some quick breakfast before she had to meet her father at city hall to discuss an upcoming press conference on the sudden halt of crime as of late. Walking into the kitchen, Toni dug around the refrigerator before finding a few blueberry biscuits to heat up in the oven and grabbed the remote from the kitchen counter before turning the TV on, the news popping up immediately.

Aleks awoke when the sound from the other room reached his ears. Not opening his eyes or moving, he fished in his mind to remember where he was, finally recalling the events prior to his respite. He sat up, tension that riddled him moments ago fleeing every passing second. He stood, retrieved his steel card, assuming it held some importance to him to have something like that on his person, and walked silently into the kitchen, squinting as the light blinded him. "What's goin' on?" he muttered, making a lazy gesture to the news broadcast. "Surprised you're not uh, doin' work. Don't you have that deadline? What time's it?" he mumbled, scratching the back of his head. His hair had flattened on one side of his head, while it stood up on the other, and he gave off a generally lethargic vibe in his tone and posture. The way he held himself now was much more different than how he was before. Where as yesterday, he had his back straight, chest out slightly, and shoulders back, now his torso slanted backwards, and his shoulders slouched forward, giving him a relaxed, and comfortable, yet lazy and improper presentation.

It took a moment for her to recognize her guest, quite startled for a moment to see a man casually drifting through her house. Groaning, Toni mumbled, "Don't remind me. As soon as I got upstairs I crashed. And my parents keep having me run errands for them, I might just go insane if my dad asks me to write another statement for him about the recent burglaries. All these criminals vanish and suddenly everyone's terrified and pointing fingers at everyone who looks at them differently." Taking in his completely different appearance, she smiled softly and said, "Glad to see you looking more relaxed, I hope you slept well, that couch was my bed in college." Laughing, she stooped down to check her biscuits and politely offered one to Aleks once they were ready. "I'd love to say I made these, but I bought them at Publix the other day. They've got blueberry in them."

I lied it happened again Third times the charm tho right HahahAAa)
Aleks quietly accepted the offer for food, only realizing how hungry he was until after he took the first bite. It wasn't long after until the biscuit had been devoured, the only sign that it had existed at all were the crumbs that he removed from the corners of his mouth. "Oh, man. Burglaries? How many had there have to have been in order to cause that much chaos? Man, never thought a witch hunt could start from some burglars disappearing. ... Wait, doesn't that mean that the crime's over now?" he spewed questions unrelentingly, appearing like he was trying to get a grasp of what was occuring in the world around him.
"Mm, college. Wonder if I went to college. Seems like a pretty cool place if ya ask me," he mused aloud, unclear if he was even addressing anyone in particular at that point. "Well, they were pretty good regardless. Never heard of the place though, bet you can tell why."

Watching him in slight amusement, Toni nodded and said, "It was something out of a sci-fi movie if you ask me; a small group of people had been robbing the town for months, in and out of the place with no trace. Small business owners were terrified, the police were baffled, and because they mainly happened in my father's district, he was called to answer to the sudden rise in crime. This happened for months and then suddenly....nothing. They were just gone. Nothing exciting for days until you showed up. Maybe you'll be my new inspiration." Biting into the biscuit, Toni moaned in delight and quickly finished it. "So, Aleks, what's your plan? I mean you're more than welcome to stay here, but how do you think you'll remember who you are? Have you gone to the doctor yet?"
