Races
Humans- Humans are the most commonly found of all races, spread throughout continents like the spores of some giant fungus. They come in all shapes and sizes, ranging from short and squat to tall and lean. For as many regions as they live in, there are just as many variants of humans. All share a few qualities, however. All humans have four limbs, two used for walking on and two as arms used to reach and grab things with their opposable thumbs. All walk upright, their arms hanging down by their sides. After that, most traits are up to the region where they live. There are three general archetypes on Ptelea, based on their country of origin. Äinians- Most Äinians have a tall and slender build, almost elfin in appearance. They stand at about 6 feet (0.9144 meters), and often weigh less than other subgroups. Their hair is usually lighter shades, ranging from a warm brown to an almost white blonde. The kingdom is situated almost entirely in deep woodlands, and most, if not all Äinians are extremely well-versed in climbing. Sivaidians- Sivaid is situated partially in forest but mostly in desert. Sivaidians are built to accommodate this harsh environment, with generally smaller body builds that require less nutrients to sustain. They also tend to have darker skin, along with being shorter than other races at an average of 5'5" ft (1.8288 meters). Their hair generally comes in darker colors as well, like black or dark brown. Minaieans- Minai is by far the largest kingdom in the continent of Ptelea, and has one of the most diverse cultures and peoples. It is also the home country of the Grand Magic Academy, which now accepts students from all other countries. Generally, pure-blooded Minaieans are characterized by mid-tones, not as pale as Äinians but not as dark as Sivaidians. They have hair in some shade of brown, usually, but many other colors are found as well. Having green eyes is also a common Minaiean trait, although no one’s quite sure why. Foreign- If your character comes from a continent other than Ptelea, then they are classified as a foreigner. Foreigners can look like nearly anything, usually based on the climate they lived in! If you want a detailed list of our known continents your character could come from to help build backstory, let us know! We'd be more than happy to help. Otherwise, feel free to create your own foreign countries for your characters to come from!
Dragons- Just as with humans, dragons are variant creatures, appearing in many heights, weights, and colors. Just the same, they all share a few key common traits. All dragons are large beasts, walking on all four of their appendages. Occasionally they will use their front two limbs as humans would use their arms, but they, of course, have no opposable thumbs, which makes it significantly harder to pick up anything. They are covered in hard scales, and from their backs erupt leathery wings, capable of carrying them long distances without tire. From these basic traits, we can further segregate dragons into two categories. Northern Dragons- Northern Dragons are generally smaller in size than their brethren, reaching a full height at about 11 feet (3.352 meters). The have long hooked talons and scales that come in all sorts of different colors and patterns. They have long and thin tail, each one flaring up at the tip in a simple webbing. In addition to these features, Northern Dragons have varied breath weapons. These include acid, fire, frost, and special aquatic types possess the ability to breath underwater. The breath weapon of the dragon corresponds with their eye color- greens for acid, ambers for fire, greys for frost, yellows for lightning, and blues for underwater breathing. They are found in all environments, and each type is more popular in certain areas (ex. Blue eyed dragons are more commonly found near bodies of water). These dragons separate themselves into small colonies or tribes, each led by the strongest or most experienced dragon. Each one of these sects identifies themselves with a name that shows what they value most (Ex. The Tribe of Silver Eyes). However, there are no Northern dragon kingdoms in Ptelea, turning these groups into more of roaming gangs. Southern Dragons- In terms of size, Southern Dragons are much more varied than their Northern counterparts. They reach a height of somewhere between 7 feet(affectionately named whiplashes among their own) to just over 35 feet (referred to as bulls or stags by other dragons)(2.133-10.668 meters). Their scales come in a wide variety of colors, usually based on the environment they were born in. Speaking of environment, Southern Dragons are usually found in and around mountain ranges, making their homes and kingdoms out of the caves they find there. This could be connected to the fact that Southern Dragons only breathe fire, a fact that gives them much less adaptability than Northern Dragons. However, in brute force and fighting strength they are much more powerful, if not necessarily more intelligent. Southern Dragons have fought many more wars with other races, and they gradually evolved this trait of strength to help cope with the strain of fighting. Southern Dragons usually group together in large cities or family groups, settling down with these members in caverns as mentioned before. They are more social than Northern Dragons, and tend to be more likely to join a group with strange dragons they don't quite know yet. This allows them to rule their own kingdoms, essentially, giving them a bit of power that may have previously slipped through their talons. Kezad is one such kingdom, and, although it is primarily Southern, Northern Dragons occasionally join their ranks.
Neziri- Neziri are one of the most isolated races in the world, and oftentimes are thought to be just a myth, especially in continents where they have left long ago. Nevertheless, they are indeed a real, breathing race, and they have left their own mark on the world. Neziri are mostly human in build, with slightly more uniform characteristics. They have varying skin tones, but almost always have darker hair colors, from light brown to black. They are also taller than most humans, with a height range of 5-7 feet (1.524-2.114 meters). Oh, and they have wings. Not leathery dragon wings or delicate insect wings- we’re talking bird wings, graceful structures that protrude from the shoulder blades. These wings, along with some other key features, allow them to lift off the ground and fly. This is part of the reason Neziri make their homes high up in mountains- they’re the only ones that can reach it. The wings themselves can take the coloring of that of any bird that exists, from shimmering greens and blues to plain brown or white. They don't tend to come in intricate patterns, however, often appearing with only one or two colors. Just as important to understanding the race as appearance, we must also take into account their unique governmental and societal structure. Their societal structure is very close knit, and depends on small clusters of Neziri families and workers. Their communities, or government structure as well, I suppose, first and foremost centers on everyone’s willingness to work. Each child, when they grow up, takes one of many predesignated jobs that help the entire community. They are able to freely choose this position, but usually have a placement recommended by the Council. The community is overlooked by this council, a group of elected officials each representing a category of workers- Public Services, Medical Services, Human Services, Schooling and Education, and Recorders. These Neziri make most important decisions that would concern not only the community but others outside them. This is not the most esteemed position in the community, though. Neziri place special emphasis on memories, and as soon as a Neziri child is discovered to be a magic user, they are placed under the teaching of the memory storers. They use a form of enchantment magic to store the memories of all community members, both past and present, on the walls of a great hall. All communities share this structure, and it is a central part of most Neziri’s lives. The community as a whole is very tight knit, but that doesn't stop them from accepting newcomers with open arms. If one were to grow up outside of these communities, they could have a very different upbringing and view on life, possibly conflicting with their brethren. Still, that won't stop the Neziri from always welcoming one of their own into their communities- be it for better or worse.
Sirens- All sirens share a similar build, consisting of sleek bodies and shimmering scales along their arms, faces, and torsos. They all have slender tails that come in all shades of blues and greens. Their skin is usually an off-white color and some are known to have blueish tints. When a siren takes a human form their hair color ranges from blonde to black, but while using their primal physique it is always thick and black. They will commonly weave bones and shells fragments into their hair and jewelry, and most siren weapons are created from animal remains. As previously stated, sirens are able to manifest in a human form, similar to shifters. This human form is weaker than a natural human, and the longer a siren stays in their human form, the more strain it puts on them, both physically and mentally. This still allows them to go undercover for some time, albeit in a weaker state. Sirens also have the unique ability to enchant other races using only their voices. This ability is much weaker in the human form, and also weaker in males. This is one of the main reasons most sirens structure their government under a hereditary queen. Their government is mostly matriarchal, meaning that most if not every settlement is ruled by a female. That doesn’t mean males are frowned on, however- simply that they can never hold significant power. Sirens hunt for food, usually in pods of close friends and relatives. They also live with these pods. This ensures a tight relation between the group, and they will always have each other’s backs. Siren cities are often underwater metropolises, made up of many pods clustered together around an important resource or building, like that of a government official. There are some settlements on land. However, Ptelea has become almost devoid of sirens over time. In fact, sirens as a whole are becoming rarer throughout the world. Some speculate that the race is dying out, killed off by sailors with strong superstition. Others say that this is only a temporary retreat, and that soon the sirens will emerge from their isolation- but who’s to say with what.
Shifters- Shifter is the general title granted to the race of humanoids that can change their form into that of other creatures. In appearance they are very similar to humans, holding within their ranks the same variance that regular humans have. However, oftentimes there will be small hints of their animal side peeking through- perhaps sharper than normal nails, or more often their hair or eye color may correspond to that of their animal, sometimes granting it an unnatural hue. There are four general classes of shifters, each increasing in rarity. The first, and most common, are one-type shifters. These shifters have one animal they can change into. To avoid confusion with the other, rarer type, instead of referring to themselves as ‘shifters’, these being call themselves ___born, after the type of animal they can shift into(ex. Hawkborn, Lionborn, etc.). The next most common are the race-shifters, those who, instead of changing themselves into an animal, can change themselves into another of the sentient races. They keep up the same naming process as the one-type shifters(Dragonborn, Sirenborn, etc.). Many of this class have been severely persecuted or discriminated against because of their abilities- during wars between races, they are often detained or killed as spies, and if living with their shifted race, they are often denied privileges that other full-blooded races may have. The next type of shifter is even more rare than the race shifters- a pure shifter, often referred to simply as a shifter. This variant can change into any type of animal they have seen in their life, excluding races. This gives them an edge in most battle situations, allowing them to change their form based on which type of fight they’ll be entering. However, shifting through a wide variety of animals in a short amount of time may cause various negative side effects to the shifter, so they usually stick to one for every few hours. The final type of shifter, and one that is almost unheard of, are the face shifters. These shifters can alter their appearance to mimic that of any race, making them effectively indistinguishable from the real races- with enough practice. However, because of the almost frightening power they have- not to mention the side effects- they have become outcasts not only among other races, but their own too. There are very few left alive in the world, and those that have survived have learned not to use their power more than is needed. Although these types are what most of the race is composed of, there is one more type of shifter- the Unborn. The Unborn are shifters unable to change into an animal form. They usually hold a few of the characteristics of which form they would have been able to assume in their base appearance, sometimes manifesting deformed animal characteristics (perhaps jagged claws or misshapen wings/tail), but just as often appearing as normal humans. Depending on the community, Unborn are either outcast or pitied by other shifters. All types of shifters have to deal with the effects of the instincts of the creatures they shift into. If one stays too long in their alternate form, they could lose their sense of reality, losing their ‘human’ conscious and instead succumbing to the beast inside. They also have to deal with the extreme pain of shifting their body in the first place, feeling their bones and organs moving around in their skin, reshaping themselves, a pain that has caused many a shifter to simply snap. Rumor says that there is research going on in Minai on a drug to help ease this pain, but, like any drug, there are sure to be… negative side effects. Because of their generally wild or unrestrained nature, many shifters refrain from forming an actual kingdom, living throughout other nations as nomads or travelling in caravans with other shifters. A few settle down into small towns or villages, but these are few and far between, and are generally hidden deep in the wilderness to avoid detection by the kingdom which they have placed themselves in. The one exception to this, of course, is the Island Nations in Ptelea, a sort of refugee kingdom that formed after a myriad of wars caused widespread persecution and discrimination against the race. They had additional forces defending their doors for the War that recently finished, to help those shifters who were caught in the crosshairs. This kingdom accepts any shifter who comes knocking at their gates, be them criminal or refugee, and, more often than not, will crack down on any other races trying to enter their safe haven.
Dofthegos- A kind of super-soldier that emerged in the midst of the war, many Dofthegos have been abandoned by their commanders. This race consists of mostly humanoid hosts who have all been possessed by a demon, acquiring the attributes of a demon while slowly losing control over their own actions. These demons do not live in our world. They exist on what one could call a mirror plane- a shadow plane, if you will. This shadow plane is directly connected to ours, so much so that we can feel the disturbances on one side in the other. Still, communication is very difficult between the two, and we only know that it is there due to intense magical studies. Some hypothesis that this is our world’s source of magic, while others say it’s simply a different reality. The demons from this shadow plane were able to cross over into our world, with the help of a physical host. These are the Dofthegos. Dofthegos often experience a growth in height after they are possessed, standing anywhere from 6-7 feet(1.829-2.134 meters). Depending on the stage of transformation the Dofthego reached before their host abandoned them, they may also have black, leathery wings protruding from their backs or a long sinewy tail that whips about their legs. When their mind is taken over by their demon host, a Dofthego’s eyes will go completely black, as if filling up with ink. As time goes on, their blood will also darken and eventually become black. Dofthegos were originally created by mages in Minai, to help aid their country in the war. The mages chose young people off the streets, and performed a vile ceremony on them, trying again and again until they finally perfected it. The demons who infected the subjects were perfectly content to follow the orders of those who had summoned them, believing that after the war was over they would hold some power and be able to re-instate their kingdoms on earth. However, after the war ended, Dofthegos were scorned, and those who had lost full control of themselves to the demons inside them were executed. This led many demons to abandon their hosts, leaving them with the strange features their transformation had originally brought upon them. Dofthegos are still looked down upon in all countries, and many people don’t trust them at all, believing that they are still possessed by a demon.

Headmaster:
Niko Maei
Teachers: Ms. Callixta Ptolemais Mr. Vilhelm Elwyr Mr. Ferras Allege | Ms. Fig Athos | 26 | Female | Human (Äinian) | | Fig Athos is a slender, short woman, standing only about 5’6”. She has shoulder length, dark brown hair, that is usually kept tied back in a bun. Her eyes are a dark blue color, and many joke that they're pitch black. She also has barely noticeable freckles across her arms and legs, as well as her cheeks. Her features are angled and crisp, and she often comes off as fairly intimidating from the first moment you see her. | This is going to be really casual because I'm tired. Okay. Ms. Athos has a horrible taste in fashion but she knows her stuff. She's good at teaching but not so much with getting students to like her. She doesn't tolerate slackers and always has a plan. She goes by the rules, and hates anyone that doesn't. She's also 'fake happy’ most of the time and chooses favorite students. She's a bit racist and magist too. | | She had a lot of jobs before settling down as a teacher, including a brief stint in the Äinian military where she worked as a tactician. However, she always loved teaching, and eventually fetched a job at the Grand Magic Academy. She's still relatively new, but she's already gained a reputation among the students. | She doesn't have one primary, instead dabbling in a bunch of subsets of magic. | Careers in Magic, Item Enchantment I, II, and III. | | Other | | Ms. Talien Chisomo | 31 years | F | Human(Foreign) | | Despite her older age, Ms Chisomo manages to look like just another student. Standing at just 5’3” Talien’s athletic frame is more compact and subtle than most. Her hair is a dark brown that appears almost black in natural light. These locks are perfectly straight and reach just barely past her shoulders. The Illusion Mage’s eyes are a mesmerizing light blue, and small flecks of gold are visible in the iris. When it comes to outfits, Ms. Talien prefers to dress more formal than anything. On an average day she’ll usually wear a shorter dress that barely goes past her knees (scandalous ) and heels or boots, as well as limited jewelry. However, she’ll never go anywhere without a small silver bracelet engraved with foreign text. She claims it just says her name in her native language, but no one can be sure. | Ms. Chisomo isn’t your average teacher. In fact, she hates the ‘stuffy old dude’ stereotype that all teachers have to carry with them. Being a foreigner, many of her views differ from other teachers who were raised on Ptelea, something that can either make her beloved or hated by her students. Talien is fairly extroverted when it comes to her students , however, she can be extremely shy when it comes to her peers and fellow teachers. This is also due to her foreign upbringing, and she is constantly worried that she’ll offend someone with improper etiquette or something simple like that. During class, she loves to talk about the lands where she grew up, and is open for any Magic History student to talk to if they have any questions about magic in the Gilead Sea (her home ‘continent’). | | Ms. Chisomo was born in a foreign country called Cvetko, a land similar to Sivaid due to it being dominated mostly by desert. Born into a poorer family, she was forced to apprentice under a lesser known Illusion Mage named Freosia Diomien. After finishing her training, Ms. Chisomo lived in the capital of Cvetko and worked as a seamstress until she heard of the job slot opening in Minai. | Illusion Primary (Darkness Magic) | Illusion Creation I and III, Foreign Magic | She’s a single pringle and has a black cat named Mitzie that she loves to talk about in class. | | Mr. Cadell J. Ketill | 42 | m | Human (Sivaidian) | | Despite being an older teacher, Mr Ketill has a looming and intimidating figure. His build is fairly athletic and his height of 6’3” doesn’t make him look any friendlier. He, like many Sivaidians has darker skin and hair the color of black coffee (although it’s cut so short it’s near impossible to tell). His eyes are a light brown color, and when hit by light the right way, can appear almost amber. Unlike many other teachers, Cadell prefers to work in a more informal style of clothing, favoring casual shirts and pants than the flare of ‘fanciness’ that seems to be more popular. | Despite his more threatening frame, Mr. Ketill is a softy at heart. He finds it impossible to hate any of his students, no matter what trouble they get into. In fact, Mr. Ketill will often poke jokes and laugh alongside even the most troublesome of students. However, his lenient behavior can often be a problem when it comes to finishing units and projects. He is much more likely to give students extra time and push back tests than to be strict with the schedule he laid out at the beginning of the year. Mr Ketill also has trouble socializing with his fellow teachers, and would prefer staying inside and reading than going to important meetings. | | Mr. Cadell J. Ketill was born into a poor Sivaidian family, and was barely able to feed his seven younger siblings when his parents were gone. Since the family, lived on a small farm Cadell would often be the one sent to the “nearby” town in order to sell the animals and plants gathered at harvest. It was during one of his stays in the town, that the young boy saw his first mage, and instantly knew that he wanted learn magic. Of course, it wasn’t easy. His family had no money to spare for education, let alone one in magic, and so Mr. Ketill chose to steal books on magic, learning to read (better, he already had basic teaching from his mother) alongside his learning of magic. By the time he was sixteen, he was able to control and manipulate fire, and set up a small shop in town to sell his skills. Eventually, he was offered a job at the Grand Magic Academy, but at first he turned it down, disliking ow militaristic the school was. However, when he was prompted again after the reform, he chose to try his hand at teaching one of his favorite subject: Magic in Literature.| Fire Primary | Magic Literature and Magical Ethics| | He is married to another Sivaidian named Alenor, and they have two kids (ages 7 and 12) | Mr. Lael Uduak | 22 years | m | Human (Minaiean) | | For a teacher, Mr. Uduak appears fairly young and attractive. He stands at a taller height of 6’1” and has a more athletic figure. His hair is a dark coffee brown and is cut short and jagged, giving him a more rugged appearance. However, his eyes are one of the strangest things about him. In normal lighting they appear a pale green in color. However, when the lighting changes, so does the color. In darker lighting they appear a light blue and in bright lighting they appear a pale grey. When it comes to outfits Mr. Uduak could care less. He’s much more likely to throw on whatever is in front of his closet than spend time trying to come up with a full outfit. | Mr. Uduak isn’t your average teacher. He’d much rather spend the entire class period making corny history jokes with his students, than have to be the ‘stuffy old teacher’ and actually teach class. In fact, he often picks out jokes of the day to tell his students, all of which are incredibly corny. However, the teacher actually does care about history a lot, and has at least some sense of what needs to be done everyday. He does however, take it easier on his older students, especially in his more advanced classes. Mr. Uduak also is extremely friendly to his fellow teachers. Although he’ll never admit it this is mostly because he feels unprepared to be a teacher at such a prestigious school, especially considering his age. | | Mr. Uduak was born into a small merchant family on the shores of Minai. Though he never had to deal with extreme poverty, he never lived luxuriously either. When he was fourteen he decided to study magic in the Grand Magic Academy, and a year later was thrust into the military teachings when the war broke out. Since he was mainly trained in military magic, when he graduated Mr. Uduak decided to join the fight against the dragons. However, after two years of serving the teacher began to find himself disgusted by the ethical treatment of their foes and fled, finding sanctuary in a small hospital and pretending to be a wounded soldier. It was there were he met his wife, Crystanie who was a combat nurse at the time. When the war ended, Mr. Uduak decided to try teaching magic in the academy that taught him. When he was accepted he and his wife moved to the capital and where they are living now. | Air Primary | Magic History I, II, and III | | Mr. Oliver Archfiend | 25 | Male | Dofthego | | Oliver stands at a good six feet seven inches in height and weighs around two hundred fifty six pounds. Oliver has one light blue eye, the left eye, and one red eye, the right one. His hair is ravine black and it reaches as far as the base of his neck. Oliver has a tattoo on his back that reads 'Gib niemals auf und gehe niemals zuruck', which means never give up and never back down. Oliver often wears a nice black suit white a snow white tie. Oliver's right arm was changed by his demon to more resemble it arm, which means it is covered in scarlet scales on the top of his arm and has hazer sharp claws. On the top of his head, closer to the right side of his head, a single horn can be found. | Oliver has two different personalities when it comes to how he acts. The first being a strict and kinda up tight especially when it comes to thous he teaches. The second face is a more kinda and loving one, which often makes people think he is a push over. When Oliver is out of the classroom he is a really chill guy who often spends his time reading books. | | During the times of the war Oliver was one of the few people to volunteer to take on a demon and become a Dofthego. Oliver was very pleased with his decision; however, his family felt otherwise and decided to cut all ties with him. This didn't really affect him all that much due to the fact he joined the program to get away from them. During his time fighting in the war his mind started to break apart into the two personalities that he has now in order to cope with all he had to do while in service. However once out of service he and the demon that he was bonded with separated from one another and the two went on with their lives. | Illusion magic| Manipulation of Light and Dark I and II. |
First Year Students: | Jiang Canceě | 15 | Male | Dragon(Southern) | | Jiang has a rather muscular build, and is rather large for his age. This is mostly due to his habit of getting into fights, both provoked and seemingly random. His scales are a bright crimson, but are usually fairly mucked up from his many escapades. He doesn't take his own appearance into much consideration- as long as he's doing what he loves, it's fine with him. | Jiang is a bit more brash than he would like to admit. He’s fairly confident in his own strength, and can often be found fighting it out with other dragons his age, much to his family's dismay. It's not that he's naturally aggressive- he's just overly protective of his friends and family. He'll fight for what he believes is right, even if everyone around him tells him he should fight less. Jiang is also very free-spirited, preferring to do things his own way. He loves flying, brawling, and all the other activities you'd associate with his type. He's also a bit of a heartbreaker, although he's never actually met a girl he really liked. Guess that's one thing he can't get by fighting. | | Jiang has had an extremely uneventful life. Born and bred in the Dragon nation of Kezad, he hasn't really been subject to any major events that changed who he was. Even the war didn't alter him that much. He's always been this way. Jiang is somewhat scared when this day will come, but, luckily for him, it's still in the future. | Deciding Primary | Introduction to Magic, Magic Ethics, Fire Manipulation I, Earth Manipulation I, Air Manipulation I. | | Jiang’s parents both served in the war, so he doesn’t see fighting as inherently bad. He sees it as more of a necessary evil. |
| Lisolette Keohan | 15 | Female | Human(Foreign) | | Lisolette is a slender, well-muscled young girl with light tan colored skin. Her hair goes slightly past her shoulders, and is a dark auburn-brown. Her eyes are dark brown as well, and often hold a distant, detached look. Lisolette prefers to wear tight clothing when she can. It’s less bulky, and allows her greater mobility, all of which she considers important factors. This usually means you’ll never see Lisolette in a skirt- except, of course, the school uniform, which she hates. | Lisolette is a quiet student, preferring not to talk to anyone at all if she can help it. She’s cut herself off from others ever since her parents were executed, and she hasn’t really been the same since. She carries herself with a certain detachment from others, distancing herself from others emotions and feelings. She often offends or frightens others, simply because she doesn’t understand what they mean or think. Lisolette is extremely intelligent, if by books rather than by experience. She’s secluded herself in her own world of numbers and figures, trusting the reliability of formulas rather than the fleeting unpredictability of other people. | | Lisolette grew up on the continent of Erithneir, in the small human settlement of Titos. She was born into a family of criminals, and was just beginning to be taught their ways when her family’s crime empire was brought down. Her family members were all placed in jail, and her parents were scheduled to be executed. However, since Lisolette was only 7 at the time, they let her go, sending her off to live with her aunt. This is where Lisolette discovered her capability for magic. As soon as she was able to, she booked a ship for Minai, intent on attending the Grand Magic Academy. | Deciding Primary | Introduction to Magic, Magic in Literature, Magic Ethics, Dispelling and Protective Magic I, Magic History I. | | Lisolette still has several of the skills her parents taught her, and can slip into places nearly undetected. However, she also still has the habit of casually picking up various trinkets and storing them away in her pockets. |
| Celestine Dracaeli | 18 | Female | Dofthego(originally from Ardirivula) | | Celestine is a tall but thin girl who stands at around 6 feet. Her hair falls down to her chest and is a light brown in color, and she has a pale complexion. Her eyes are a dark forest green; but at times they will turn darker, almost black. She wears her school uniform reluctantly, but she has a set of steel armor in her possession, as a keepsake from her past. She tears holes in the back of her uniform to make room for the two black draconic wings that protrude from her shoulder blades in an ugly fashion. A thin, black, whip-like tail comes down to around her ankles, and two small black horns curl from her head like a ram's horns would. | She is quiet, brooding, mistrustful, easy to provoke into a fight. She is a girl who does not care about rules, especially since this is her first year at the academy. Her thoughts are constantly plagued by her inner demon, a vile thing that calls itself Lucienne. Truly bipolar, Celestine can often be controlled by Lucienne, and it has gotten worse over time. She tries her best to hide the fact that she is still possessed by a demon in order to avoid execution. | | The war had certainly taken its toll on Celestine. She was very young when they took her from her home country of Ardirivula, a place full of rainforests. She was brought to Minai and went through the excruciating rituals in order to become a Dofthego. She fought as a soldier at 16, and when the war ended, she kept it a secret that the demon inside of her was still there. She thought she could control it. Her military advisor thought it best to send her to the academy where she could learn to use magic instead of relying on demonic powers. | Primary Enchanting, Secondary Illusion | Proper Uses of Magic Items, Manipulation of Light and Dark I, Illusion Creation I, Item Enchantment I | | Celestine has some skill in battle using weapons, and plans on learning how to enchant them. She prefers dark magic over light, but is not adverse to using both. She also plans on joining the Occult club in order to learn how to control her demon. |
| Xhion Taline | 15 | Female | Shifter (Wolf/Dogborn) | | Xhion has darkened skin from living in Sivaid most of her life. She is thin and stands at 5’6”. Because of her shifter DNA, she has unnaturally colored hair and eyes. Her hair has three different colors, black, white, and brown, from her animal side. Her eyes are oval shaped and amber, also from her animal side. The animal that Xhion can change into is a spotted wild dog. As her animal form, she is mostly black with the occasional splotches of brown and white. Out of school, she usually wears loose-fitting, light clothing. | Xhion is naturally very quiet and shy, not liking to talk that much. Dispite that, she does try to hang around groups of people, though she doesn’t contribute to conversations. | | Xhion lived with her parents and siblings in Sivaid. | Gwendoline (Gwen) Svajone | 15 years | F | Dragon (Northern Dragon) | | Even in terms of dragons, Gwen appears more like an art project than a living creature. In terms of height, the Northern Dragon is fairly tall for her races, standing at 8’3”. Her wingspan, however, is more of a problem for the narrow hallways than her height, and when spread at total of 21’4”. The First Year’s scales are a bright emerald green with blue accents on her wings, face, and talons. Two auburn horns protrude out of her head and curl upwards into deadly points, and large plates of the same color trace her spine until they reach her tail. These plates are also visible on the front side of her legs. Her tail tapers down into a whip-thin point that comes in handy during scuffles and fights. Her eyes are a dark green, indicating her acid-based breath weapon. | Gwendoline is certainly an enthusiastic dragon. She is a huge optimist, preferring to search to find the bright side to everything that happens to her in her life. However, her hyper personality is mainly due to the nervous energy the dragon was born with. Being on of the few dragon students, Gwen often feels like she has to set an example and prove to the other students that she is just as good as them. However, this can lead to many problems, and the green predator will often overestimate her ability to finish projects and perform extracurriculars. She also often feels like the people who she calls her friends are only kind to her because they she her as strange or different and that she ‘needs’ a friend because she’s lonely. | | Gwendoline was born into a small tribe of dragons in the Dragon continent of Kezad. Because her parents were busy fighting in the war, the dragon was raised by her older siblings, and was the youngest out of her eight brothers and sisters. When the war ended, most of her sibling settled down with families and jobs of their own, yet Gwen always felt isolated and had trouble fitting into everyday life. When she heard that the Grand Magic Academy was accepting dragon student, the young dragoness decided to leave her home and try her hand- or talon- at magic. | Enchantment Primary | Introduction to Magic, Item Enchantment I, Identification of Magical Plants, Alchemy I, Magic History I | | Pansexual little bab~ |
| Folke Iairos | 14 years | m | Human (Äinian) | | Folke is definitely the more attractive twin. He stands at a height of 6’1”, and has a fairly muscular frame. Similar to his brother, he has light blonde hair, but his darker streaks are much more visible. His hair is cut short and choppy, giving the First Year Student a more rugged appearance. His cheeks and arms are dotted with darker freckles and his eyes are a light blue with darker grey and green flecks around the pupil. Like his brother, Folke doesn’t seem to care about the school uniform, preferring to discuss more important things with his peers. However, he actually likes the ‘fancier’ clothing, and thinks it makes him look nicer than he would if he had to choose his own outfits. | Folke is much more outgoing than his twin brother, Nereus. He has a sort of chill aura that surrounds him and makes him easier to talk to than most. In fact, Folke often gives of the feeling that he doesn’t care about anything, which is highly untrue. If anything, he cares too much about things, and is willing to spend hours pouring over even a simple project. The first year is also extremely stubborn and is willing to argue his point for days rather than admit that he was wrong. However, because of both his stubbornness and dedication, Folke makes an interesting student. He is much more likely to thrive in harder classes, but in classes where the teacher is a little more laid back, he finds it harder to follow along and will do worse. Folke is also a bit a a flirt, although he doesn’t have a preference for which gender or age of student he does it with. | | Folke was born into a rich Äinian family along with his twin brother, Nereus. However, the two brother were separated when their parents when through a nasty ‘break-up’ While Folke was sent to a remote beach house to live with his mother, Nereus stayed with his father. The two brother hardly ever saw each other afterwards, but Folke’s mother always encouraged him to write letters to his brother. When the boys turned twelve they hatched a plan to go to the same school. However, since the boys were at different learning levels they never found a school they could attend together, but when the Grand Magic Academy went through it’s reform, the boys decided that they would attend the magic school together. | Earth Primary | Earth Manipulation I, Healing I, Practical Magic, Introduction to Magic, Taming and Recognizing Magical Creatures I | | His twin brother is Nereus Iairos. |
| Nereus Iairos | 14 years | m | Human (Äinian) | | Nereus isn’t much to look at. Compared to his brother, the skinny boy is short and weak, and his tendency to spend full days hiding away from the sun doesn’t help is ghost-like complexion. The First Year stands at just about 5’9” and has a bony frame with little to no muscle. His hair is longer and has a light blonde color, although in bright lighting darker streaks become more visible. His eyes are a pale blue with soft golden flecks mixed in across the iris. He tends to show little interests in the school uniform, wearing it without much complaint. However, he secretly hates the outfit, and would much rather be in clothes he could feel comfortable in. | Nereus is very shy and quiet, which contrasts his twin’s personality. The shorter brother would much rather stay inside working on homework or reading a book than going out to social events. Nevertheless, Nereus has been know to have sarcastic comments for everything, and is extremely close to his twin brother Folke. He likes to believe he is the brains of his family, and will often spend whole days inside reading or doing research in order to improve his knowledge. Of course, this does nothing to improve his social skills, and because of this Nereus has a severe disconnect from his fellow students and teachers. | | Nereus was born into a rich Äinian family along with his twin brother, Folke. | Yugo Alibert | 16 | Male | Human (Mineaean)| | Yugo is actually quite different than the normal Minean, having dirty blonde hair and dark sapphire eyes. He has a relatively shorter physique and has fairly tan skin. He usually wears dark blue shorts and an orange sleeveless shirt, tied to his waist by a cord that serves as a belt. He usually wears wooden sandals that are covered at the front by cloth, almost like closed-toed slides. | Yugo is a very kind young man who is always trying to find ways to help others. Despite being able to use forbidden magic, he still only uses it to the betterment of other people and to get work done. He can be a bit self-conscious and reserved ometimes, especially when he is trying to bottle up his unique talents and keep quiet about what he can truly do. | | born into a poor working family, Yugo discovered his powers when he was fairly young. After leaving home, he was trained in the ways of portal magic and how to use his own magic before eventually enrolling in the Academy. | Mainly uses teleportation magic(forbidden) and his own, unique magic using his portals. | Karametra Ke'tal | 14 | Female | Neziri | | Karametra is often considered a pretty plain looking Neziri girl. Standing at approximately 5'5 in height, she has a pretty average build, neither skinny nor heavy, not flat or busty, but that of a semi-straight stick. She has longer arms and legs though, making up for a shorter torso, giving her a more runner type of build. Her skin is a dark ivory color, freckles speckling her cheeks, nose, and along the length of her arms. Her hair is a dark auburn color, gentle waves falling to her shoulders, thin bangs wisping across her forehead. Her eyes are a bit on the larger side, giving her perpetual brown doe eyes. If you've ever seen a cardinal's red wings, then you have seen Karametra's wings, which are the same red color. Outside of her uniform, she always wears a metal armband around her left wrist that looks like vines wrapping up her forearm. | Karametra is a rather shy girl, often times shying away from other students that she doesn't know. When someone can get close to her, however, she is easily excited, always smiling, and sometimes easily distracted. She's loyal to a fault, which is part of the reason why she so often separates from others without getting to know them. | | Karametra grew up in a pretty normal life with an older brother (five years older than her) and a little sister (three years younger than her). When she was little she used to belong to a small group of friends, however, when they realized how loyal she tended to be, they used that to their advantage, often turning her into a scapegoat so that only she would get into trouble. This went on for a few years, but when her parents found out about this, they pulled her away from that environment, not allowing her to see her 'friends' anymore. When the Academy opened up, they decided to send Karametra, hoping that maybe she could make some better friends and learn more about magic. The metal band she wears is an ancient family heirloom, passed down to the first born daughter when they turn twelve years old. | Currently undecided | Intro to Magic, magic in literature, Taming and Recognizing Magical Creatures I, Magic History I, Magic Ethics | | Karametra enjoys writing poetry and loves history of all kinds. She's interested in Illusion magic, earth magic, and life magic, but she isn't sure what magic would suit her best. One strange thing about the Neziri girl, is that few people have ever seen her fly. Rumor in her neighborhood was that she couldn't fly, but in truth, she just can't fly well. She's not very coordinated in the air, but to make up for it, she became quite the parkour runner, using her environment to get to places that normally required flying to get too. |
| Aka Voluris | 14 | Female | Neziri | | If you had to guess Aka's age, it would usually hit below the mark. Aka is only 4 feet 8 inches, clearly also a late bloomer in that her build is childlike and more undeveloped. Consequently, her wings are smaller and she has an incredibly hard time flying, despite being slimmer and not weighing much at all. Her face is round, with larger eyes that even further emphasize her childlike appearance. Her skin is on the lighter end of the spectrum, with faint freckles dotting across her nose and cheeks. Her hair is fiery red in tone, cut in a short bob that hardly reaches her chin. On the complete opposite end of the color spectrum, her eyes are leaf green with virtually no hints of brown or blue. Of course, you can't forget the wings, which are of similar tone to her hair for the outer feathers, while her inner feathers are lighter, almost reaching a pale gold. | Quirky is probably the most accurate term to describe Aka. She fails to understand the social intricacies that others seem to be experts in, resulting in a strange mix of introversion and failed attempts at socializing with her fellow mages-in-training. Aka has a tendency to be strangely polite, offering handshakes to new acquaintances and speaking with advanced vocabulary beyond what is expected. She's intelligent, with an extreme liking towards learning new things. She's certainly an avid reader as well, making constant trips to the library to exchange books on a broad variety of subjects. At times, she can fail to see the bigger picture beyond her own bubble, making rash and immature decisions with little regard for consequences. | | Was raised as an only child outside of a Neziri community, displayed magical talent as a young child. Hayes | 14 | Female | Siren (none) | | In her human form, Hayes is about the size of the average person at 5'7". She has brown hair with natural blond highlights. Her eyes are green with gold and grey flecks around the pupils. She has long eyelashes that are black and makes it look like she is always wearing some sort of enhancer. Hayes always puts her hair into two braids that go to her mid back. She doesn't like to cut her hair, more shells and bones to keep in it. In Hayes' siren form, her hair reaches past her waist like a long, black web. She has pale skin with hints of blue like birthmarks. She has scales along her arms that shine a soft blue in the light. This is on both of her forms, but when she is human, more blue scales appear in patches on her legs.| Hayes is a very outgoing person. She loves to make jokes and start interesting conversations. If you're alone in the Dining Hall, she will move over there so you have someone to talk to. Sometimes she thinks of herself as the therapist for people, but it takes a toll on her. She ends up getting depressed and swims around by herself, laying on rocks and thinking of the purpose of life. | | Hayes was a good child overall, she liked to pull pranks and have a good laugh with others. | Aeren | 14 | Male | Neziri/Shifter (Dragonborn) | | Aeren is tall in his natural, Neziri form, which closely resembles a human, and stands at 6'2. Because of his mixed blood, some of his traits tend to become rather muddled. His grey eyes closely resemble that of a dragon with a frost breath weapon, which sometimes has people mistake him for an actual dragon, rather than a shifter. Aeren has a semi-muscular build, but despite his lineage, his body isn't very strong. While his body isn't very muscular in general, Aeren's Neziri wings are very strong, which he probably received from his more dragon-like traits. In his natural Neziri form, his wings are white with light blueish-grey undertones, and his hair is black with silvery highlights, hinting at his wing color. Due to his Neziri lineage, Aeren's dragon form takes on a similar color scheme as his hair and Neziri wings. As a dragon, Aeren's scales are completely silver and he stands at a height of 10'1. | Aeren is very reserved and tends to keep mostly to himself. From his history, he has come to learn that it is sometimes best to care for yourself first and others second. Though he does sometimes show a more caring side of himself, he more often than not keeps that side secret and under close lock. Despite what one might expect, Aeren loves to study, and enjoys learning new things. This school is his first time going to an actual school, so he is often very unsure of himself. More than anything, he wants to overcome his mixed lineage and follow his own path of magic. | | Aeren was born by his mother, who was a Neziri, and his father, who was a dragonborn shifter. From a young age, he has had to care for himself. His mother had died at childbirth, and his father later died of a disease. Since he was too young to know them very well, he doesn't think about them very much, and has only ever really know how to care for himself. Sometimes, throughout the years, his parents' old friends would come to visit him and make sure that he's still alive, but otherwise did little more than that. When he found out about this school, he saw it as an opportunity to overcome his past and pave a path for a new future in magic. | Primary Earth | Intro to Magic, Practical Magic, Magic History I, Earth Manipulation I, Earth Generation I. | | Aeran's abilities as a dragonborn shifter are extremely weak, and he's very unsure of himself in dragon form, especially when it comes to shifting. | Arii Bhardwaj | 15 | Trans male | Shifter (Catborn) | | Ari's got wild hair that falls to his shoulders, dark brown and curly. His eyes gleam a bright green, a sharp contrast to his brown skin. He has a hooked nose and high cheekbones. Ari stands on the shorter side at 5'2, and is a little too skinny for his own good. He wears a body-powered prosthetic from his upper left arm down. | Bitter, sarcastic, and cynical, Ari's a loner and he likes it that way. Doesn't mean he stays away from people though - he likes to pick fights and push people's buttons to see how far he can go. He doesn't mince words and believes honesty is the best policy, even if the truth is devastatingly crushing (no, actually, that's the best kind of truths.) He doesn't suffer fools gladly and distrust is his default. Arii highly respects intellect, as he is greatly interested in absorbing all knowledge that he can and working his brain to its full potential. Otherwise he's writhing in boredom, which, according to him, is the worst fate he could ask for. Despite being almost needlessly cruel with his words, Arii has a personal moral code that he cannot be swayed from, and can't help the burning desire to help those in pain.| | Abandoned on the streets at eight years, Arii's been surviving on his own in his cat form for a long time. At one point he's taken in by a member of a street gang, only to get caught up in an abusive relationship, see his best friend get snatched away to become a Dofthegos, and get stabbed in the back (literally). | Älphönse (Alphy) Vinter | 17 | Male | Human (Siren) | | Alphy stands at a solid 5' 9" tall. He has semi broad shoulders, as well as a decently toned body. Nothing too ludicrous, but it's obvious he exercises on a regular basis. His skin is strikingly white, yet not pale. His hair follows very close, being a very light gray color, almost white, as if he had aged many years too early. And old gray, yet a very clean and silky gray that betrays his true age. This hair reaches down to his waist, but is always kept in a high ponytail when in public. Despite his light colored body and hair, his eyes are a deep blue color, lightening as his iris approaches his pupil. He has a fairly handsome face with well defined features that seem to be in a perpetual scowl. Alphy hates sleeves. Anything he wears on top will either be short sleeved, or will have their sleeves rolled up, whether or not a certain dress code permits it. When outside of class, he prefers to wear regular sneakers with socks, baggy jeans and boxers, a hoodie with its sleeves cut off, and a teal colored hair clip. | You know that stereotypical delinquent in every academy or high school show ever? The one who always complains about class, doesn't listen, is a huge grouch that everyone is kind of afraid to look at, and is always getting in trouble and threatening his school career with his actions? Yeah, Alphy is that guy. And much like that stereotype, he has a a backstory to back it up, as well as a sweet, loving, caring, and surprisingly easy-to-be-around side to him as well. | | Älphönse is an illegitimate child. His father was a well known soldier, not because of any huge acts or anything, but because of his loyalty and his ability to lead better than most. A man that climbed the ranks quickly. On one of his campaigns, he happened to run across Alphy's mother, a siren who had been shunned and exiled from her pod due to her being born mute. Alphy's father captured the girl and took her as a trophy, having Alphy born to her. Realizing his mistake, Alphy's father quickly abandoned the two, using his military campaign as an excuse to leave and never come back. Although she was mute, Alphy's mother was more than capable of surviving and communicating. She had taught, raised, and named Älphönse herself, before teaching him water magic. Her deficiency in species related features, ie her voice, was more than compensated in her magical understanding and power. Alone, she was able to mentor the boy into a strong wielder of the powers. It wasn't until he turned 15 that Alphy met his father, who had returned with a guilty conscience where his left arm once was. Over the course of a year, he was able to regain the trust and love of the woman that had his illegitimate child, despite being married and having 4 children elsewhere. But Alphy was nothing but a nuisance. The boy hated his father for what he did. And tried to prove it with his power. As soon as it was revealed how strong and reckless he was, his father tried to force him to go to the magic academy in order to learn discipline and self control. Älphönse was able to avoid this for 2 years through multiple means before his father was finally able to literally restrain him and send him to the Academy, with a threat towards his mothers safety if Alphy were to compromise his education in any way. Which explains his age entering as a first year. | Water (Ice) magic | Intro to Magic, Magical Ethics, Magic History I, Water Generation and Manipulation I | | Despite Alphy's adept ability to use water magic, specifically in ice form, he has never been able to achieve a water form more than changing the outer layers of his upper arms and lower legs into ice. Second Year Students: | K’tora Moonhaven | 16 | Female | Human(Sivadian)/[Shifter(Lionborn)] | | K’tora carries herself with a sort of feline grace, every step light and gentle. She's relatively tall and lean, especially compared to some of the other students at the school. Her skin is a darker hue of ruddy beige, and her hair is jet black. Although her hair is quite long, K'tora usually keeps it tied up in some way, effectively cutting its length in half. Her eyes are a dark amber-brown, and are slightly slanted. | K’tora tends to be very peaceful and fair, and hates being alone. She is cooperative by nature, and much prefers working in teams. She avoids indulging in any type of conflicts and prefer to keep the peace, whenever this is possible. However if negotiations break down or her friends are threatened, she’ll be the first one leaping into battle. She may be inclined to delays and indecisive, but can be a truly amazing and dedicated friend if you gain her trust. | | K’tora is one of the few shifters who can use magic. She spent her early days living in a caravan in Sivaid with her family, eventually deciding to go to school in Minai. However, she kept her race a secret because she didn’t want others to know about her weaker magic. Instead, she enrolled as a human, and attributed her shifting to a transformation spell she had perfected. This made her seem like a young prodigy to school employees, and she was quickly accepted. However, she doesn’t try ‘showing off’ or other methods of taking advantage of her lie. In fact, she’s more comfortable if everyone just forgot about it. | Transformation Primary | Study Hall, Taming and Recognizing Magical Creatures I, Alchemy II, Living Transformation II, Healing I. | | She’s a member of Fencing Club. |
| Bael | 16 | Male | Dofthego | | Standing at 7’, Bael is rather muscular, though he doesn’t have enough muscle mass to make it visible. He has an angular chin and a signature grin of sharp teeth that he rarely puts away. His most striking feature is his albinism. His skin is pale/fair and makes him stand out. His short, spiky hair is so light that it might as well be white. He has angular eyes that are a blue-ish color, but they can look red in direct sunlight, which doesn’t happen too often. On his back are two, white, leathery wings that, when exposed to sunlight, show the veins running through them. Out of school, Bael usually wears clothing that covers up his skin and a light blue jacket. | Bael isn’t exactly the nicest person in the world. He’s brash, rude, and willing to speak his mind, not caring if people get hurt by his words. | | For his entire life, Bael lived on his own. He started off wondering why, but after many years, he stopped caring. During the war, he was picked off the streets and was forced to undergo the procedure that forced a demon into his head. After the war, the demon wasn’t in control anymore, but that left a deep impact on Bael’s psyche. He lost whatever sympathy he had and became even more self centered. When he got to the right age, he was enrolled into the school, hoping to increase his power. | Fire Magic | Fire Manipulation II, Fire Generation II, Study Hall, Item Enchantment I, Foreign Magic | | Because of his albinism, Bael stays away from the sunlight and mostly travels when he is protected from said light. | Zinoviya (Zi) Mayra | 15 years | f | Human (Sivaidian-Äinian Hybrid) | | Zinoviya isn’t much to look at. The Second Year stands at 5’7” and her compact frame is lined with tight muscles. Her hair is a light blonde that reaches just past her shoulder blades. However, she hardly ever wears it down, preferring to either braid it or pull it back into a bun. The Death Mage has coffee brown eyes and when she smiles small dimples are visible. When it comes to the school uniform, Zi could care less. Though she’d much rather wear something less formal, the death primary is almost thankful that no one can single her out by the outfits she’d wear. | Zinoviya is a very introverted and quiet student. She’d much rather blend into the background than stand in the spotlight which can often be an issue due to her primary. She also finds it extremely difficult to make friends, mainly because she never seems to be able to let her guard down. However, when she is around people who she trusts enough to be relaxed around, she is quite the sarcastic character. Zi also doesn’t fit into your stereotypical ‘death primary’ cliche. She’d much rather spend her day outside in the sun, than locked up in her dorm, and she hates anything colored black. In fact, she sometimes feels like her fellow students give death mages a bad reputation just because the fit into the ‘creepy’ mold. | | Zi was born to a single mother in the capital of Sivaid. However, only three days after her birth, her mother died of an unknown cause. Having no father to go to, the death primary was sent to live with her Grandmother, a wealthy business owner who lived on the other side of the city. Though her grandmother loved her, the two we’re never close an Zi grew up with almost no close family connections. | Einku Gingko | 16 | Female | Dragon (northern) | | Einku is about 3 feet tall with a wingspan of about 7 feet; very small for her race, especially compared to the rest of her family. She is light blue in color, with darker blue scales going down her spine. She has a white underbelly, and webbed “fins” adorn the sides of her face. Her snout is more rounded, giving her face a more snake-like appearance. Her eyes are golden, meaning that she comes from a tribe of lightning-breath dragons. | Einku is friendly, but does have a small-dragon-complex. She can be quick to get defensive if she thinks someone is picking on her. That said, she is an agreeable dragon and is very excited to learn magic. | | Einku lived with a tribe of dragons who traveled by the coasts of Ardirivula and would use their lightning breath to shock their prey in the water. Her family always joked about her being small, saying that she was more like a lizard than an actual dragon. They sent her to the academy immediately, and Einku has been excited to learn Water Magic since. | Water Primary | Water Manipulation II, Water Generation II, Magical Ethics, Dispelling and Protective Magic II, Study Hall | | She is often mistaken by others as an aquatic dragon, especially since her family lives on the coast. |
| Wren Daniels | 16 | female | Dofthego (non-host anymore) | | Wren is almost 6 feet tall at 5'10", in the middle of her transformation growth. Wren is extremely pale. She has dark brown hair with blonde highlights that she curls loosely every morning. She has black frames that help her dark brown eyes with gold flecks see. She has freckles along her cheeks and the bridge of her nose. Wren has black wings emerging from her shoulder blades, the ends of the feathers reaching her ankles. | Being controlled by a demon changed her point of view forever. Wren isn't cruel like people think she is. Whenever she meets someone she knows she will be with for a long time or someone she would respect, she gets them a gift that is good for anyone. Wren loves to be social, but isn't invited to most things because she was a host. People don't know that, so she is shoved to random places, often into her dorm without others. | | When Wren was 13, she was a strong, confident, outgoing person. She was 5'4", living by herself in the war, and then taken by a demon. She lived like that for a year and a half until she was 14. She left the war after that because she had wings and fled to this school as a kid. Wren enrolled and is now a third year. Wren has a hard time landing her flights, so she often doesn't fly or just crash lands. The worst it's been is her breaking her leg. | Enchantment Magic | Study hall, Item Enchantment 2, Magical Ethics, Dispelling and Protective Magic, Practical Magic | | Wren doesn't know if her parents are alive. She has anxiety and depression. |
| Aapeli | Fifteen | Male | Dofthego | | Not counting the features gained by being a host of a demon, Aapeli could look like any normal human. His hair is a dark brown, almost black, and curls at the end when it grows to a certain point. As he lived in a dessert, his skin is tanned due to the constant sunlight. His eyes are usually a shade of brown. However, when his demon, Balduino, takes over, his eyes darken go black. He stands tall at six feet for a boy of his age. Aapeli wears his uniform, but finds it uncomfortable, mainly because of his Dofthego features. He has black wings protruding from his shoulder blades, which make the school uniform a pain, and a whiplike tail. It is relatively easy to see he is a Dofthego. | One of the biggest things about Aapeli is that he hates being a Dofthego. He generally doesn't agree with what Balduino says, and often has to work hard to maintain control of himself. (Bonus fact, Balduino means Bold Friend.) When it comes to everyone else, he is pretty approachable and loves talking. As far as Dofthegos go, he is one of the more popular ones. The second year is also a hard worker, making decent grades even though he struggles. When it comes to school stuff, Aapeli may not seem very intelligent, but he has a keen mind when he actually needs the knowledge. With a temper as short as his, it's easy to guess that he doesn't need much encouragement to fight. | | Aapeli was born in Minai, and he lived a rather dull life there. At the age of twelve, he was caught on the streets and suffered through ceremonies and rituals to become a Dofthego. He became a soldier, and it ended when the war did. However, his family refused to socialize with him because he's a Dofthego and threatened to turn him in. Aapeli fled to an unpopulated desert. | Life Primary | Magical Ethics, Magic History II, Magic Theory I, Manipulation of Living Tissue I, Healing I| | I don't think there's anything. |
Third Year Students: | Aleira Dras | 17 | Female | Human(Minaiean) | | Aleira enjoys keeping her appearance spotless, one of the reasons she's allowed to stay in the ‘popular’ group. She keeps her pitch black hair neatly curled down to her shoulders. Her eyes are emerald green, and she'll often highlight them with traces of green pigment along her eyelids. She, like her friend Brilla, despises the school uniform, and will discard it as soon as the school day is over. | Aleira is certainly more inclined to work for her own profit rather than anyone else’s. This doesn't mean she's against collaboration, as long as the outcome will benefit her. She uses her words to carefully wrestle favors out of their friends and fellow students. Aleira adapts quite easily to most situations, so she's able to quickly shift strategies if anyone starts to catch on to what she's trying to do. Although she often comes off as a manipulative jerk, Aleria does have several hobbies that don't quite align with this. One of these is gardening, although she tells her friends she's just in it for the cute teachers. | | Aleira grew up Minai during the war, and still holds many of the stereotypes and prejudices her parents had. Her parents were both on the richer side, although not quite at noble status. As such, she grew up fairly pampered, even when the war hit. However, her life was upended when her parents enlisted her in the Military Academy of Magic, setting her on the course to become a soldier after her four years in the school were over. Luckily the war ended soon after this, and Aleira was able to fall back into a comfortable state at the new Magic Academy. She still doesn't feel comfortable with a lot of the new students, though. | Water Primary | Water Manipulation II, Water Generation III, Alchemy III, Magic Ethics, Study Hall. | | She's head of the gardening club. |
| Seier Dextri | 17 | Male | Human(Minaiean) | | Seier has milky white skin that has seemingly never been in the sun. His hair is dark brown, nearly black, and his eyes are a pale jade green. His features are soft, and he's much more on the shorter side, standing at only about 5’6”. He doesn't dislike the school uniform, but he's quick to change out of it into something more comfortable if he's given the opportunity. This usually means long-sleeved shirts and sweatpants. Seier could clean up nicely- if he ever put more than three minutes thought into his outfit. | Seier is more on the introverted side of things, preferring to keep to himself most of the time. He doesn't fit neatly into any sort of social situation, and many refer to him as ‘that one weird kid’ without ever talking to him. Still, he's somewhat embraced this identity for himself. Rather than denying his strangeness, Seier instead tries to hang out with people who appreciate or even agree with his views. That's why he started a club last year, and why he continues to find friends in the most unlikely of places. | | Seier was always fascinated with darker forms of magic, but never really got to practice them due to them being outlawed. He may be slightly crazy, but not enough so to break the law. He originally joined the Military Academy as a Life Primary, hoping to get a role caring for injured soldiers. However, as soon as the school switched over to start allowing Death magic to be practiced, Seier switched his primary to the more unorthodox magic. He took quite quickly to it, and now believes he's more ‘happy’ than he would have ever been as a Life Primary. | Death Primary | Communing with the Dead, Manipulation of Decaying Tissue II, Reanimation I, Magic in Literature, Scroll Writing. | | Other |
| Luciel VonTeila | 17 | Female | Neziri | | Luciel stands at 6’4” with an appearance one could relate to a ‘popular girl’. She is always seen wearing makeup and only stops wearing it when she’s asleep. The same goes for her high heels. She has long, light brown hair, and green eyes that constantly shows her demeaning attitude to other people. On her back, she has two white wings with blackened tips. Outside of school, she wears flowy dresses and anything she thinks she looks good in. | Luciel is the very definition of a ‘popular girl’ attitude. She is incredibly vain and demeaning to other students. She thinks of herself very highly and is overall a spoiled brat. | | Living outside the normal Neziri community, Luciel was spoiled beyond belief. When she was old enough, she was sent to the school when she started showing magical promise. | Life Magic | Dispelling and Protective Magic II, Taming and Recognising Magical Creatures I, Manipulation of Living Tissue II, Combat Life Magic I, Air Generation I | | Hates Bael for reasons they don’t talk about. | | Brilla Mirta | 17 years | f | Human (Minaiean) | | When it comes to looks, Brilla outshines most students. The Illusion Mage stands at 5’5” and her skinny frame appears hardly capable for combat. Her hair is fiery ginger in color and cascades down in wavy locks to her belly-button. Her eyes are a piercing emerald green with small flecks of gold circling the pupil. The third year’s face is more angular than curvy and small freckles for her cheeks and arms. The young girl hates the school uniform with a passion and does everything she can to make it more unique whether it be wearing a colorful scarf or sparkling jewelry. In fact she despises the outfit so much she brought her own wardrobe to wear in the dorms. | On the outside Brilla reads as your average popular kid. She’d much rather be out partying than studying for tests, she dates for the thrill rather than looking for a long term relationships, and most importantly, is from a wealthy Minaiean family. However, despite all her fanfare, Brilla is a coward at heart. She hides behind her popularity and lashes out at others so nobody dares look into her own past. She prefers to see her ‘status’ as a method of survival and believes that she’ll be able be a better person once she graduates. However, at heart she’s terrified that her personality has been changed forever, and she can never go back to the carefree person she was before. | | Growing up, Brilla was surrounded by her parents wealth and status. She was always fascinated by the mages who fought in the war, and it was a dream of hers to become a fire mage ever since she was nine and heard of Niko. However, her parents never believed that she would go far with Magic Studies and when Brilla proposed going to a fancy magic school in Äin they refused to fund her. Bitter and angry, she decided to attend the Grand Magic Academy because a) it was the only school she could afford on her own and it would anger her parents to see her attending a school that was open for everyone, including the peasant class. During her first semester at the school, Brilla tried to take fire manipulation classes, but something about the class never clicked with her. Frustrated she decided to take an Illusion (Light at the time) course saying that it only covered up the fact that her parents would pay for her schooling. However, after a couple classes she realized that she really enjoyed the class and decided that Illusion Magic would be her primary. | Illusion Primary (Light Magic) | Magic History III, Illusion Creation III, Light Manifestation, Taming and Recognizing Magical Creatures II, Magic Theory I | | Brilla has a ‘pet’ piglet called Sir Theolin Mirta (or ‘Sir Oinks’ as he is commonly referred to) that she has to keep hidden from the teachers because he’s not ‘low maintenance’. She’s bisexual. | | Alazar Icarus | 17 | Male | Neziri | | Alazar has wavy black hair that reaches below his ears. His eyes are a deep topaz, and his wings are the same color. He stands at about 5’3”. | Alazar is a cheery individual, always willing to put on a smile for others. He has a whimsical way about him, wanting to explore the depths of magic and what exactly it can do. On the outside he has an adventurous personality; but on the inside he is a very sad person. | | Alazar was very young when his parents left, descending from their safe home in the mountains to participate in the war. Neither of them came back, and Alazar took that news very hard. But it was soon discovered that he had magical abilities, and his other family members decided to send him to the academy. This was so that he could get away from the memories of home and spiritually grow. | Transformation Primary | Identification of Magic Plants, Living Transformation II, Nonliving Transformation II, Magical Theory II, Study Hall | | Alazar likes practicing his spells on plants, and enjoys horticulture quite a bit. He is also a member of the gardening club. | | Marcus Phiasar | 17 | Male | Human (Minaiean) | | Marcus is six feet four inches tall, with a fairly muscular, lean build. His skin is tanned, with messy, short dark hair framing his face. Strangely, his eyes are two different colors, one green and one golden brown. One could consider Marcus to be fairly attractive, what with his build and his face type falling under the 'ruggedly handsome' aesthetic. Of course, this is something he will use to his advantage. His clothing choice outside of school is fairly simple, leaning towards more casual. In both his ears is a gold hoop, and in his left ear is a second earring. | Liar, cheat, con artist, thief - all words one might use to describe Marcus. Yet, it's hard to dislike him. He has an air of charm and wit to him, talking his way out of difficult situations (or, if needed, using illusions to aid himself.) He's overly confident and certainly doesn't make it unknown, but doesn't have the common side trait of making stupid decisions without forethought. He's clever and calculating, but can and most probably will overestimate his abilities on more than one occasion. He plays around with people and their wealth not only for the fun of it, but also because he's simply greedy by taught nature. As well as one might expect, he's a shameless flirt, even towards girls despite his lack of interest. Marcus isn't terribly averse to building relationships, despite expectations, although he prefers to keep his friends to a small circle of trustworthy adversaries. | | Marcus grew up in a fairly wealthy merchant family, and from a young age learned a warped view of how to earn money. He learned how to lie and cheat people out of their money, and to this day holds to this ideology as misunderstood by the masses. Upon learning his magical aptitude, his parents sent him to the academy so he could aid in earning the family even more money, be it through moral means or not. | Primary Illusion, Secondary Enchanting | Illusion Creation II, Shadow Manifestation, Item Enchantment III, Taming and Recognizing Magical Creatures II, Foreign Magic | | my lovely gay child | | Tansy Ansa | 16 years | f | Shifter (Pantherborn) | | In terms of appearance, Tansy isn't much to look at. The young shifter has a fairly normal physique and stands at the average height of 5'8". Her hair is a mousy brown, and falls straight down to her shoulder blades. Perhaps the most interesting thing about the life primary are her eyes. At first glance, they appear a dark coffee brown. However, when looked at more carefully one can see specks of gold and amber circling the pupil. The most obvious signs that she is a shifter are her teeth and feet. Her canine teeth are sharp and elongated and the rest are all similarly sharpened. Her feet are a strange hybrid between that of a human and that of a cat, and the girl stands mostly on her toes than her heel. In her panther form, she appears to be a massive and well-muscled cougar, her pelt a rusty brown and eyes a dark, almost black, brown. Tansy isn't the type of person who complains about a lot of things, the school uniform is a rare exception. The third year absolutely despises the fact that she has to wear the same thing as everyone else, without an ounce of originality to be added. In fact, some days she'll just choose to wear her own outfits in silent protest to the uniform rules. | If you were to make a list of all the things a life mage should be, Tansy would be half of those. She strives to be as helpful and kind as possible, always stopping to talk to new students and guiding them to their classes. However, her easy personality makes her extremity naive and easy to be manipulated. If one was to tell Tansy that in order to help one of her patients she needed to cut off her own arm, she'd do it in a heartbeat, not even questioning if the information was valid beforehand. She is also very easy to control, especially because she believes in the best of every person. This can be a huge problem, especially since her parents are fairly wealthy and if their daughter was in danger, would sacrifice their fortune in a split second. Nevertheless, the shifter refuses to change her mindset, and is willing to risk manipulation and worse in order to be the 'helpful little life mage' that she think everyone wants her to be.| | Tansy was born off continent on a small trading island. Her parents, who oversaw trading agreements at the time, were a young couple and loved their daughter with all their heart. When their trade empire grew large enough to be churning out a lavish profit, the small family moved to Minai hoping that life in the aftermath of the war would be easier than trying to survive on an island. It wasn't long until Tansy's parents forgot all about going back home, and her mother gave birth to two little brothers. When the life primary was old enough, she decided to attend the school and feel in love with the arcane arts. | Life Primary | Magic History III, Magic in Literature, Healing II, Control of Plants, Combat Life Magic I | | She homosexual, and has two little brothers (one seven, the other three) who view her as their hero. | | Hagen Oier | 16 years | m | Human (Foreign) | | One glance at Hagen is all you need in order to know he is a foreigner. His frame is fairy muscular, and the giant stands at a whopping height of 6'5", giving him an intimidating figure. His hair is long and as black as the night. Although he usually pulls his hair back into a ponytail, the strands always seem to curl at the tips, giving the Fire primary's hair a messy look. His skin is a dark sandy-color reminiscent of old parchment. The foreigner's eyes are a dark brown color and smaller flecks of amber can be seen scattered inside the iris. In terms of the school uniform, Hagen doesn't mind it as much as he could have. The fire primary, having just transferred to the school, doesn't seem to mind the change of outfit, and in fact, kinda likes that no one can judge you based on what you wear.| Hagen certainly has an.... interesting personality. The foreign student has a sort of dry humor, so causal sounding that one can almost never be sure if he's making a joke or being serious. Of course, this doesn't help him make new friends, but the fire primary doesn't seem to mind much. He would much rather have a few closely knit friends than an entire pack following him around. Being a new student in such a critical year, Hagen is definitely feeling pressure, and is often short-tempered and grumpy when trying to make up work. This is often continued over into his social life, mostly because the new student doesn't feel like he has enough time to make proper conversation. However, whenever he finds time to relax or have fun, he goes hardcore. In his old school, he was know for taking entire days off in order to prep for dorm-thrown parties and celebrations, something that only made him unpopular among the teachers, and beloved by fellow students. However, being a new student, Hagen definitely feels like he'll have to abandon this par of his personality, and is attempting to focus all his energy into academics.| | Hagen grew up on an entirely different continent than Ptelea, and thus was exposed to many different cultures and religions. Born the youngest in a family of twelve, he often felt like he had to complete with his siblings in order for his parent's attention. However, when he was out riding with friends one day he met a young water mage named Aliseea and was instantly enraptured with both her, and magic. After spending many days talking to her on horseback, he learned that she planned on taking classes at a nearby magic school, and told him that he should apply. Hagen didn't waste a heartbeat. However, after taking two years of classes, his parents decided to move to Ptelea, and Hagen was forced to leave both home, and Aliseea behind. Choosing not to abandon his education in magic, Hagen decided to take up classes in the Grand Magic Academy for the first time this year. | Fire Primary, Enchantment Secondary | Taming and Recognizing Magical Creatures II, Fire Generation III, Fire Transformation, Item Enchantment I, Animal Enchantment I | | He is in love with a young water mage named Aliseea and will often write letters to her in his spare time. | | Pandora | 17 | Female | Neziri | | Pandora is on the shorter end of a Neziri at 5'5". She has straight black hair reaching her mid-back. Her eyes are a shimmering blue, looking over everything with a smile. She has freckles across her cheeks and nose. When Pandora isn't wearing her uniform in the rest of the city, she wears ripped jeans, high tops, and a loose shirt in the shades of camouflage. Pandora's wings are like ones of a blue jay, short but can take long distances. They reach from her upper back to her knees. | Her personalities are like Pandora's Box, it looks fine but once you open it enough, darkness will spread over. That box is Pandora's temper. If she's calm, she is the sweetest being you could ever meet, wanting to hang out during study hall and pulling silly pranks on others. If you open the box, she is uncontrollable. She pushes people, she gives the nastiest glares, and afterwards she cries for hours as a rebound effect. | | When she was young, her family couldn't keep her under control because her siblings would keep making her mad. She eventually thought that no one wanted her in her home, so she moved to a place of herself in the mountains. She lived in a small cave by herself, distancing herself from her family since she was 12. When she overheard people talking about the Magic academy, Pandora looked and enrolled as soon as she possibly could. | Life Magic | Manipulation of Living Tissue 3, Healing 1, Control of Plants, Combat Life Magic 1, Study Hall | | She doesn't know if her family is alive or dead. | | Jasper | 17 | male | Northern Dragon (frost) | | Jasper is an average sized dragon at 10'8", close to the top of the scale(haha puns). He has dark grey eyes indicating that he is a frost. He has large teeth that usually scare beings off, but he comes back with a smile and friendliness. Jasper has off-white scales all over his body, leaving a strip of light blue leather for his belly. His wings ,stretching 17.5 feet, have the same light blue as flecks in his scales. He has horns at the end of his 6 foot long tail, bending back towards the end of the scales at the tops. He has two small ears he keeps tucked back, kind of like a horse's ears. | Jasper isn't that smart, looks can be deceiving. He failed almost all of his past courses because he couldn't do much, or he didn't want to. Jasper is also very lazy, and when he sleeps, he snores. He does seem scary at first, but he is a very friendly dragon. Jasper likes hugs because he can see how big he is compares to others, and it gives him warmth(hehe now irony). | | Jasper has lived with his parents his whole life. When he was 8 years old, his father died trying to save other dragons from a forest fire, dragons who couldn't fly well. His mother took care of him but only tought him the major needs of survival, so he doesn't know much else. | Dark Illusion Primary | Illusion Creating 2, Study hall, Dark Manifestation, Foreign Magic, Forbidden Magic | | He is scared of rabbits and has a hard time landing | | Zhao Hui Ah | 16 | Female | Shifter (Pure) | | Hui Ah is around average height, standing at a simple 5'4. Her eyes are a chocolate brown, which mix well with her dark brown, almost black hair and tanned skin. Due to her Shifter blood, her nails tend to grow faster and sharper, which is sometimes an issue for her. Though she doesn't look the part, her body is very lean and strong, which most likely results from her shifting into different animals, and using muscles that a human would not normally use. Some of her favorite animals to shift into are a common house cat, a hawk and a small dog. | Hui Ah truly has the heart of an adventurer. Whenever she puts her mind to something, she always makes sure to see it through, never stopping to cut corners. Sometimes she can come off a bit strong, and is often simply seen as hyper and completely undisciplined. She loves to meet new people, but suffers from the failure of actually making a good impression, and normally chases them away. Often times, her frustration gets the best of her, and her temper flares up. In times like this, she tends to shift without thinking. This is the most likely reason as to why she really chases people off. Despite all of her failures, she still looks forward to a future success, and continues to enjoy the rush of meeting a new person and making a friend. Another downfall that one might point out about Hui Ah is her irresponsibility, especially with money. She never bothers to think twice before spending money on something absolutely ridiculous. | Zhao Hui Ah was born into a rich Shifter family in a foreign land. Though she was the first, precious child of the Zhao family, she wanted to explore beyond the comfort of money and a future that had been promised to her. In defiance, she ran away from home. It wasn't long before she found herself seeking refuge in this school, and she came to fall in love with the atmosphere of it all. Deciding to follow her own path in life and throw away her old life, she made use of her ability to channel magic and took on the challenge of fire magic. Since the time she left, she hasn't returned home and resulted to simply writing letters back home, talking about everything that happens. Unfortunately, no response has come back to her ever since she left. | Primary Fire | Dispelling and Protective Magic I, Magical Theory I, Fire Generation III, Fire Manipulation II, Fire Transformation. | | From her time as the only child of a rich family, she has intermediate skills in playing the violin, and is actually quite good at it, despite what she tells everyone else. | Fourth Year Students: |Sarina Wakely | 18 | Female | Neziri | | Sarina is rather tall and lean in build, like most of her race. Chestnut, short hair clumsily hangs over her lean, smiling face. Her eyes are a pale blue color, almost grey. Pale freckles are carefully spread across her cheeks. Her wings are sooty grey, with speckles of lighter and darker tones spread throughout. Sarina is quite comfortable with the school uniform, and often wears her modified version even when she doesn't have to. | Sarina is bright and peppy, but also can be hot-headed and impulsive. She has a constant burning energy inside, and it always needs to escape, be it by social interaction or duels with other students. If this energy isn't worked off, she'll become increasingly restless, and begin to ignore even good advice from friends. She can work herself up into quite an ugly mood, but as soon as she's able to work it off, she's back to her normal, sunny self. Even though Sarina is a 4th year, she stills holds a certain sense of independence and rebelliousness, and will sometimes disregard teachers regardless of her better interests. She does have moments when she slows down and focuses on introspection, questioning most things she knows. But these moments are few and far between, and soon she's back to her usual social self. | | Sarina left her Neziri community seeking opportunity. If she had stayed in the community, she would have been looped into a life of memory storing, which wasn’t something she wanted to do at all. Sarina wanted adventure more than anything. That’s part of the reason she willingly enrolled in a military school for a country she barely knew about. Sarina still loves fighting, however(honorable fighting, mind you). She plans on becoming a mercenary once she graduates. | Enchantment Primary | Magic History III, Magic Theory II, Forbidden Magic, Animal Enchantment II, Careers in Magic. | | Sarina is head of the fencing club, and is desperate for members. |
| Aseem Avraamu | 17 years | m | Siren | | When it comes to appearance, Aseem follows the siren stereotype flawlessly. He is fairly tall, standing at a height of 5’9” and his build is pretty muscular. His hair is long and as black as the night sky. However, he usually keeps it pulled back so it doesn’t fly into his face. Small silver scales are visible on the underside of his arms and on the side of his stomach, small reminders that he is in his ‘human form’ rather than his full siren form. His eyes are a light teal color reminiscent of seafoam, and dark shades of blue swirl in his iris, and a golden ring surrounds his pupil. His cheeks and arms are dotted with faint freckles, and when the siren smile small dimples are visible. When he does take on his natural form, silver scales frame his body and twist his legs into a graceful tail and fins are visible along his spine and forearms to help with swimming. Aseem also harbors a hatred for the school uniform and only wears it when he has to. Of course, on days when he’s really not feeling it, the siren has been known to wear regular clothes to his classes because the uniform was ‘too uncomfortable.’ | Aseem is fairly ****y for a siren, and will often cut classes and break rules just to see if he can get away with it (he usually doesn’t lol). He enjoys hanging around with girls and friends, mainly because he has such a short attention span that he feels like he needs to be talking to someone 24/7. Despite his relaxed personality, Aseem finds it really hard to learn new material and for the first two years as a student he had to study and practice every night in order to learn his primary magic. The siren also feels like he never fits in despite his best efforts because the fact that he’s a siren in a school dominated by mostly humans. It’s because of these feeling that the siren has become a lot more reclusive than he was during his past years. At the time being, all Aseem cares about is graduating and the choir club he was given responsibility of after the older leader left.| | Aseem was born into a small pod of sirens living of the coast of Minai. Though he was taken care of wondrously and taught the ways of a siren by his mother, a violent sea-storm separated him and his sister (already an adult at the time) from the rest of the pod. After weeks of searching in vain for their parents, the two decided to live in the nearby human city until they could return to the sea. However, the two began to grow accustomed to city life, and eventually settled down. When Aseem began showing potential for magic, his sister practically begged him to take classes since any magic other than vocal magic is extremely rare in sirens. Of course, he decided to go, but during his first year, the siren discovered that his magic was a lot weaker than his human counterparts. Deciding not to be out done, Aseem dedicated hours to after school practice until learning came as easy to him as it did other students. | Transformation Primary, Water Secondary | Human Transformation, Careers in Magic, Foreign Magic, Forbidden Magic, Water Generation II | He’s the leader of Choir Club |
| Felson Balerez | 18 | Male | Human (Sivaidian) | | When it comes to Sivaidians, Felson is on the taller side, standing at about 5'7 in height, but also built like a brick wall with broad shoulders. Looking at him, it's easy to tell he used to do a lot of heavy lifting, able to take the stingy beating from the sandy land that he was raised in. He has tanner colored skin as is typical of the Sivaid people, something of a cross between a sandy and a honey color, though he's not sure what would be a better term for it. His eyes are a dark hazel, almost black color, while his short cut hair is simply just black. His hair is naturally curly, but he keeps it cut short, not quite a buzz cut, but close enough. micro scars line both his arms and his chest, also from work prior to coming to the school. | Felson is an open and friendly character, most days. He has his moments where he wants everyone to back-off and leave him alone, but those days are usually only after he has come back to school from break. He enjoys the company of people, and animals too. | | Felson has been raised by his father since he was a toddler, his mother having grown ill and passed away after having his little brother (A year after Felson was born). His family was never wealthy, but they were relatively happy, making due with what they could. When Felson was fourteen, his father grew ill as well, and he went to work where he could at being so young, mostly it was just delivery jobs. At sixteen, just before the school opened, he was doing more manual labor type jobs, such as helping repair houses. As his father's condition improved as his brother was able to take over caring for him, he decided to study magic, which brought him to the academy. | Fire Primary | Fire Transformation, Forbidden Magic, Careers in Magic, study hall, fire generation III | | He has a pet Desert Iguana named Leo |
| Cylsandra Oscirus | 18 | Female | Human (Ainian) | | Cylsandra isn't really what you would call attractive - for multiple reasons. She's incredibly tall, about 6 feet 3 inches, with a skinny, rather plain body type with hints of lean muscle. Her face is angular, her larger than average nose having a faint scar running across the bridge. Two even fainter scars are placed near the lower, left edge of her face. Her skin is notably pallid, almost seeming unhealthy, while her hair in contrast and unusual for her race, is charcoal black. Her eyes, more akin to her skin tone, are grayish blue. In terms of dress, you'll never see her wearing skirts (besides the dreaded school uniform) and she'll typically go for a jacket and jeans, with her hair held up in a ponytail.| Cylsandra is, well, quite pessimistic and irritable, but doesn't quite lash out at her fellow students. Instead, you're simply more likely to see her in silence, having reached a penultimate level of, simply put, not caring. This mostly applies to her social interactions with others, as she is thorough in her studies at the academy. Cylsandra is polite and well mannered in formal conversations with others, keeping conversations short and to the point, but will avoid all unnecessary conversations with others if possible. Not out of shyness or a lack of confidence, but rather due to a dislike of any social interaction. She doesn't exactly trust anyone, rather keeping her problems to herself. Aside from that, she sticks to a no-nonsense ideology, believing in the studies and pursuits of topics with practical applications. She's very grounded in reality, looking at every situation in a purely logical manner, although oftentimes failing to measure in emotional factors. Cylsandra holds respect for authority, only questioning if she feels as if it is illogical. | | Cylsandra's father was a blacksmith, and taught her and her brother how to swordfight. Upon discovering her magical ability, she chose to study Enchantment at the academy in order to enhance various objects such as weapons. | Primary Enchanting, Secondary Air | Animal Enchantment II, Air Generation II, Magical Theory II, Forbidden Magic, Scroll Writing | | complete asexual/aromantic, also part of the fencing club |
| Nix Witherss | 17 | Male | Shifter (Tigerborn) | | Nix is a muscular person. He messes with his black hair, saying that it is always messy when he combs it every time he looks in a mirror. Nix sort of judges everyone with his dark brown eyes, walking around with his head high. He likes to say he is the leader of the pride when he knows it's probably not true. His teeth are relatively sharp and he drools in his sleep. When he shifts, he usually can't walk that well at first, laying down to give his muscles a rest. He tends to run into things when he runs too because his reflexes aren't the greatest. | Nix is pretty stuck up, wanting to be the main person of the main event, probably at the main time too. He tends to be a flirt most of the time, showing off how good of a tiger he can be and how well he can run and catch prey. | | Nix has had a rough past, moving all over the place because he hasn't had enough money. Nix has worked more than most teens his age, two jobs to keep his siblings safe in a shelter with food. He will care for anyone he sees is in trouble, though. | Transformation Magic | Nonliving transformation 2, Forbidden Magic, Study hall |
| Zahra | 17 | Female | Human (Äinian) | | Zahra is at an almost average height for an Äinian, standing at 5 feet, 7 inches. She is of average weight for her race, with a lean build. Her hair is long, falling about halfway down her back. Her light brown hair is often braided to keep the majority out of her green eyes. Her skin isn't very dark or pale, but somewhere in the middle. | Zahra is an intelligent girl, and has made school her life, staying for any break possible. To her, school is more home than home. She keeps up with her studies very well, and may come off as a show off or know-it-all. She enjoys socializing with people, as long as they start the conversation. She can be ambitious, aiming to be the best she possibly can. She is pretty cowardly, lacking courage. Another weakness is Zahra's tendency to be judgemental. | | Zahra was born in Äin, and the only one of her family to show magical abilities. She didn't have a very interesting life at home, and she found enjoyment in normal school work. At the age of fourteen, she started learning at the Magic Academy. | Primary Air | Careers In Magic, Magic In Literature, Air Generation III, Air Transformation | | Participates in Choir Club |
