Cas nodded. "I'm here because of this boat." He gestured to the remains of the ferry. "It crashed some time ago, stranding Dean, Sam, Charlie, and myself."
"That's called a knife." said the demon patronizingly. "Classed among the aforementioned 'things that can't kill me'."
There was an uproar of muttering, then Rick stepped up. "We know that." he said, gesturing to his crew. "We've seen plenty of 'em. They sure don't look like that." He jerked his head towards Reese. Chloe fell silent, considering the possibility that this was some evil version of what Max was.
"We can exorcise it." explained Dean. "It won't be comfy, but it shouldn't hurt your friend."
"What can you tell about those two?" asked John. "They carry some strange equipment in that bag of theirs, that's for sure."

"They weren't lying about hunting something, by the look of them I'd say they've been doing it since they were very young, raised into it by their father after their mother died, tragically I'd guess, maybe in childbirth, more likely killed. They believe that they're chasing the Supernatural, they're accomplished liars the both of them, and I doubt they make their living through honest means. They've both killed before, lost other family members, and are over all extremely messed up. Very skilled in their field, though." He finished, almost as an afterthought as his perceptive blue eyes flicked back and forth between the two brothers.
Crowley's smile deepened, and he chuckled lightly. "Close. This is called an angel blade. Now, since you've been an this island for such a long time I suppose I can excuse you for not knowing, but those two? Called Winchesters. They kill things like you for a living, and they're pretty bloody good at it, too."
Sam looked slightly relieved to hear that some had at least heard of monsters. "This isn't the same kind as whatever you dealt with." He answered. "Pretty much every monster you ever heard of is real."
"And you saved me." Understanding blooming in Claire's shadowed eyes, and she suddenly grabbed Cas in a tight hug, sobbing into his coat. "You saved me again."

Cas wrapped his arms around her, doing his best to comfort her in his own awkward way.
"So in other words, they're good at what they do but bloody mental." said John. "Wonderful."
The demon smiled right back. "There are no things like me." he said simply.
The crowd looked shaken, and most of them began muttering among themselves, trying to make sense of what they'd been told.

"We deal with this kind of crap all the time." Sam added, trying to avoid a panic. "Just do what we tell you and you'll be fine."
"What if one of you gets...possessed?" Carl asked, the word feeling odd in his mouth.
"Sure there's not." Crowley blinking his own eyes to red for a split second, his expression didn't change. "But if you'd like, we could test your theory." He added, swinging the knife carelessly in his hand, out of the demons reach.
Sherlock allowed himself a faint smile at this description. "Basically, yeah. Should be right up our alley if you think about it."
Claire let go after a minute, half laughing at her outburst and wiping away the remaining tears. "Sorry." She muttered, going a bit red.

The demon stiffened. He had been genuinely unaware that there were any other demons. Still, he hadn't found any way to hurt himself, either, so chances were this fellow creature was just bluffing. "Knock yourself out." he said, extending his arm.
"This is gonna sound really freakin' stupid, but if he stays under that umbrella he can't possess anyone." said Dean. "It's got a symbol underneath it that makes it kinda like one of those invisible fences for dogs."

Carl looked completely bewildered at this explanation, giving Reese a cautious glance. Chances were he would be keeping on eye on the situation, as blindly trusting people had gotten him and all his friends nearly killed before.
In response, Crowley took out a piece of cloth, stuffed it in his fellow demon's mouth, and proceeded to draw the knife across the extended arm, keeping it pinning with his other hand and apparently enjoying himself. "Call out if it hurts." He invited, expression deadpan.

The blade sizzled on his arm, as expected. The demon pulled the cloth out of his mouth and roared, a loud, inhuman sound that echoed across camp. "Woah, hey, Crowley, HEY!" said Dean, yanking Crowley away from the umbrella and holding the demon knife at arms length. "You lift that off Cas?" he demanded, gesturing angrily to the angel knife.

Crowley looked triumphant, looking smugly at the other demon over Dean's shoulder before turning back to the human. "Just testing a theory." He answered looking unconcerned. "What, that old thing?" He added, nodding to the knife. "D'you really think I would pickpocket an angel, the same one who happens to have made numerous death threats in the space of about a week?"

Chloe let out a startled shriek as Crowley turned to Dean. "His face!" Dean instantly glanced at Sam, in an oh crap you thinking what I'm thinking kind of way.
The demon hissed angrily at the crowd, making them all draw back a few paces in fear.

Sam exchanged the look for one of his own, clearly startled. "Uh, Chloe, right?" He asked when he'd gotten over the initial surprise. "Could I talk to you for a minute?" He gestured for her to follow him, moving away from the crowd a bit.
Crowley frowned, momentarily pulled out of his satisfaction. "I'll start digging the grave." He volunteered out of the kindness of his heart.
Finch took a step away, then seemed to summon up his courage and approached the demon. "Mr. Reese, if you can hear me, we're going to help you." He said quietly.

The demon's black eyes slid out of focus. "Harold, quick - destroy the umbrella. They're tricking you - it's keeping this thing in me."
Chloe frowned and stepped away from the crowd. "You're Sam, right? What did I do - break an unspoken Winchester Law?"

"What - no, nothing like that." Sam hesitated, looking at her uneasily. "It's just...well, only specific kind of people can see the true face of something demon. You're not....sick or anything...are you?" He continued awkwardly.
Finch stiffened, glancing up for a moment at the Winchesters, who were out of hearing. He licked his lips, then looked back at the demon. "You'll forgive me if I don't immediately trust that it's you." He hesitated, then went on with an air of determination. "What was the name of one of the first people I failed to save?"

He collapsed on the ground, gritting his teeth. "I'm barely keeping this thing back - I can't...can't remember stuff like that. Please, Harold..."
"Sick?" said Chloe, narrowing her eyes. "You can't see it...you're saying I'm crazy?"

"No no no, not sick like that, I mean....physically." Sam tried to explain. "When someone's getting chased by hellhounds they can see the real face of a demon...anything like that? Did you make a deal?"
Finch licked his lips again, looking away. "John would never forget that." He answered, his voice significantly colder.

The demon grinned, and his eyes flicked back to black. "Your friend's still in here, you know." he said with a smile. "He wants so...badly to protect you, it's hilarious."
Chloe's face darkened, and it was fairly clear she knew exactly what he meant. "What kind of a deal?" she asked, attempting to be offhand.

"Enjoy it while it lasts." Finch answered, trying to stop his voice from trembling. "You don't have long. Those people are going remove you."
"A demon deal." Sam grimaced, guessing from her expression that she had. "When was it?"

Chloe stared at him, as if trying to decide whether or not this guy was trustworthy. Finally she sighed. "Two weeks, ok? My friend Max...she had powers that like...screwed up destiny or whatever, and it was my fault she found out about them. I had to fix it."
The demon grinned. "They're welcome to try." He then hissed angrily as Dean sloshed holy water in his general direction. "That's enough outta you, smart(tail)."

Finch's eyes widened. "What was that?" He asked quickly, turning to Dean warily.
Sam closed his eyes for a second. "Dammit. Okay....two weeks. That gives us some time." He started back. "Come on, we need to talk to my brother."

"Holy water." said Dean simply, holding up the jug. "Won't do a thing to your friend, but it'll sure make the son of a (witch) possessing his body real uncomfortable."
Chloe ran along with him. "So you and your brother...this is what you do?"

"Pretty much." Sam answered, glancing at her. "Kind of the family business."
"It's sort of like having your skin slowly burned off by a hot spoon." Crowley put in, looking down at the demon with no sympathy whatsoever. "Wouldn't you say, Skeletor?"

The demon roared angrily, face glitching for a second. Apparently it was quite unused to the sensation.
"Alright, let's get this show on the road." said Dean, watching the demon with a deadpan expression. "Sammy? You coming?"

"We've got another problem." Sam explained the situation with Chloe, glancing at the demon while he spoke.
"You must've been what...eight?" Crowley raised his eyebrows at Chloe. "Someone got lazy."

"Sam. A word?" said Dean, stepping off away from the group.

Sam followed, glancing over his shoulder as if uncomfortable with leaving Crowley alone with Chloe or the other demon. "Yeah." He prompted, turning back to his brother.
Crowley raised his eyebrows. "You seem to have gotten over my face." He remarked.

"Oh - no, not at all." Chloe said in a scathingly reassuring tone. "Still awful."
"What exactly are we hoping to accomplish here other than giving this kid false hope that there's some way out of this?" asked Dean bluntly. "Sam, we know this. We've lived this."

Sam grimaced. He knew all to well what Dean meant, and he couldn't pretend this situation was more personal than it should have been. "Maybe we can stop them this time, Dean. We've killed them before, we'll be ready."
"That's a relief." Crowley answered, as if she had intended to complement him. He looked down at his fellow demon, suddenly wondering what he was doing about all this. Probably trying to escape while they were distracted.

"With Ruby's knife, which we don't have." said Dean. "For a trial. And we still barely made it out of there. Trying to interfere with a deal like this right under Crowley's nose is not gonna end well."
It was just sitting there, looking extremely irritated.

Sam sighed. He knew Dean was right, deep down, but he couldn't fail again. He could save her, right? There had to be a way. "So what, we don't try? We just sit back and watch her get shredded?"
