"Right, um....that's a nice thought, but I'm pretty sure it weighs more than you do." Carl informed the man, looking up at him tiredly. He was getting tired of this, all he wanted was to get out and get a drink.

Cas pulled the piece off them and tossed it aside. "Woah!" said Chloe. "Dude!"

Carl sat stunned for a minute staring at Cas as if he'd grown wings. Then he rolled to the side and stood up, stiffly. "Who are you?" He asked, warily, keeping his distance from his rescuer.

"I am an Angel of the Lord." said Castiel promptly, turning and walking away.
"Well, we've met the whack-job of the crew." said Chloe after he was gone.
(A couple days later)
Castiel had disappeared again.
Dean paced around outside the tent, wondering if he could sneak his way in the next time John left.

Sherlock was pacing the beach, making deductions about every person he saw. He was glad they had an interesting bunch, at least though a good murder wouldn't hurt.
Crowley was standing a ways off, watching Dean silently. A couple days, and he had already discovered the reduction of his power. It sucked, to say the least.
Carl was wandering out of sight, exploring the jungle. Well really he was hunting, but he was exploring at the same time.

Cas was standing a ways behind Crowley, eyeing him suspiciously. He didn't like being stuck in such close quarters with a demon.
Suddenly, in the trees very near Carl, a deer became visible. It hadn't seen him yet.
Dean stepped towards the tent. He was almost certain Sam was awake by now, as it had been days and Watson had told him he was continuing to improve. "Psst...Sammy?" he called quietly, looking around for John to be sure he wasn't caught.

Sam's face was beaded with sweat. He seemed to be unconscious, but then his eyes opened, squinting and blinking around in confusion.
Crowley stood still a moment longer hands in his pockets. "Castiel." He then said, casually, without turning. "Are you going to stand there all day?"
Carl froze, instantly silent and in a hunter's position. He slowly raised his gun and aimed, then fired, aiming for the chest.

"Hey, Sam." he said, entering the tent and sitting at his bedside. "How're you feeling?"
"Let's just cut to the chase." said Castiel, stepping up to look him in the eye. "I don't trust you. I don't like you. And I'm guessing you can't leave your vessel here. So if you try to harm Sam or Dean in any way, I will kill you." He casually slid the angel blade from his sleeve to show that he meant it.
He missed, barely, due to the numerous sticks and branches in the way. But just as the deer made a leap for cover, another gunshot sounded and it fell limp. Rick stepped out of the bushes. "Nice shot." he said to Carl. "This is rough terrain. I got lucky."

"Dammit." Carl muttered under his breath, then jumped and raised his gun when the other shot rang out. He lowered it quickly when he saw his father, and instead put the weapon away and started towards the fallen deer. "This should feed a lot of people." He commented, looking at it.
Crowley looked distinctly unimpressed with the threat. "Glad to see you in one piece too. Did you know I nearly died in the crash?" He went on, knowing it would annoy the angel.
"Dean..." Sam blinked up at his brother, confused. "What happened?"

"That's very unfortunate." said Cas. "All these hapless humans who don't know any better than to bring you back." His tone dripped with dislike.
"You got hurt pretty bad." said Dean, smiling. "Apparently we had a damn good doctor on that ferry. He saved your life."
"Yeah, it's a good one." agreed Rick, helping him start to dress it. "How're you doing?" he asked, glancing at Carl.

Carl shrugged. "You know. Pretty good." He glanced at Rick, a thought striking him. "Hey, have you talked to a guy in a trench coat?"
"Yes, that's exactly what I thought." Crowley agreed, as if not hearing the venom behind the words. "Poor fellow. I almost told him who I really was, but I'm not that stupid, eh Castiel?"
"I'll be sure to thank him." Sam sighed, laying his head back. "Where's Cas?"

Rick shook his head. "No. Why?"
"He wouldn't believe you." said Cas scornfully.
"I dunno...he was here earlier, but he's out a lot." said Dean.

Sam fell silent, staring up at the ceiling for a minute before speaking again. His tone had changed to a more serious tone. "Dean...when I was hurt, I thought I was going to die."
"Fair enough." Crowley turned back to the tent.
"He just...seemed a little off." Carl answered vaguely, returning to his work on the deer. "He said he was an angel."

"Well, I hate to say I told you so..." said Dean, grinning to deflect the 'chick-flick moment'.
Rick raised his eyebrows. "An angel." he repeated. "Serious?"

"It's what he said." Carl replied, hesitating. "He lifted that piece of wood I was stuck under, too."
Sam smiled faintly. "Wait..." He said, glancing around suddenly, then looking back at his older brother. "The doctor isn't here...He DID let you in, right?"

Dean stared at Sam, expression guilty but deadpan. "...Would it make you feel better if I said yes?"
"Huh. I'll have to go check him out." said Rick, finishing dressing the deer. Here - help me carry this."

Carl did, lifting his side of the deer with impressive strength.
"Dude, seriously." Sam half groaned, half laughed, closing his eyes and leaning back.

Dean leaned back in his chair at the same time, taking in his brother's good mood. "Ah, don't worry. I'll bail before he gets back."
(Let's do another timeskip, where to?)

A few weeks later)
"...so that's when I found Charlie - well, she found me." Dean was walking down the beach with Sam, explaining everything he missed while he was out. Then he saw Cas down the beach, being approached by Rick. This was the first time he and Rick had been in the same place at the same time since the crash. "Son of a (w)itch..." he said, quickening his pace. "Did I forget to mention Cas has been identifying as an 'Angel of the Lord'?"
John was looking for Sherlock.

Sam's eyes widened, and he sped up as well. "Oh no."
Sherlock blinked, water dripping off his face. He watched as Carol stalked away down the beach, after he had shredded and laid out her whole life to her. It was so dull, being here, and no amount of deducting seemed to help. It was at least a little exciting to have people angry with him.

"Sherlock!" said Watson, catching up to him and watching Carol stalk away. He sighed in exasperation. "What did you do?"
"Heyyy!" said Dean, sliding easily into the budding conversation. "I see you've met my friend here." Rick narrowed his eyes at Cas. "You with them?"
"Yeah, he's - "
"I'm an Angel of the Lord." said Cas in a deadpan voice, seeming pleased with himself.
"...schizophrenic." finished Dean with an apologetic shrug. Cas turned his head slowly to stare at him. There was an awkward silence,

"We're working on it." Sam offered in a forced tone after a minute of awkward silence.
"No matter." Sherlock ran a hand through his hair with more force than necessary. "There's so many annoying people here, it's frankly hard to believe they haven't murdered each other yet. Like him." He jerked his head at Rick. "His wife is dead, likely died in childbirth, which hit him and his son very hard. He's had to do a great many things he didn't like, obviously, and if someone were to threaten his family they could very well end up dead so why is it taking so bloody long?!" He finished loudly.

"Sherlock, calm down." hissed Watson. "People are staring."
"Right." said Rick, eyes narrowed at Cas. "Well, don't let him do anything stupid." he said, tapping his gun lightly. Dean nodded and laughed forcefully, turning and leading Cas away. "No problem!" As soon as they were out of earshot, he turned to Cas. "What was that?" Cas shrugged, looking apologetic. "What was I supposed to say, Dean?"

"You're supposed to lie, Cas." Sam told him, exasperated. "Remember?"
People were, indeed, staring, Sherlock noticed but he didn't care. "Yes, yes of course they are, the simplest things can hold the focus of their dull, underused minds, oh (bleep) I'm so bored!" He shouted the last words, turning suddenly and walking quickly away, his dirty coat flapping wildly before him.

Cas shook his head irritably. "Yes, I know, Sam. But I can't find my badge. Who am I supposed to pretend to be?"
Watson followed him down the beach, nervously smiling reassuringly around at everyone who watched them go.

"I don't know, you can be a plumber." Sam suggested, sighing. "Just....not an angel, okay?"
Sherlock impulsively kicked a tent, breaking one of the supports and sending it crashing down on whoever was inside. He kept walking, quickly, kicking sand behind him and not looking over his shoulder.

"Yeah - seriously Cas, we don't need you getting locked up." said Dean.
"Hey!" said Chloe, emerging from her collapsed tent and approaching him. "The hell is your problem?"
Meanwhile, on the other side of camp, a strange howling noise reached Crowley's ears.

"Bored!" Sherlock shouted without turning or pausing in his step. He had no intention of wasting his time on any of these idiotic people, not when he could practically feel his brain slowly rotting away, his mind palace growing dust and cobwebs, he wouldn't have been shocked to find rotten brain falling out of his ears, maybe even a worm or two.
"Deal?" Sam persisted, looking seriously at Cas.
Crowley turned, frowning in the direction of the noise. His hands in his pockets, he started towards the sound.

Cas scowled. "Fine."
Suddenly, he could see it. A long pillar of black smoke, winding through the trees.
"What -" began Chloe, but John interrupted her. "So sorry - I'll talk to him." he said, tearing down the beach. "Sherlock! Wait!"
