As Morningrose threw her weight, Midnightpaw came precariously close to falling off, but scrambled to get a better grip. She then resumed battering her mentor's back with her hind legs, claws sheathed. She didn't want to hurt her mentor, it was only a training session. But she would try to stun her to get closer to the stump.

Ooh, that sounds interesting. I only do essays on things like Hamlet.)
Morningrose growled and let her front legs buckle, effectively sending her head to the ground. The she-cat curled her spine, preparing to roll. Hopefully Midnightpaw would be flattened in the process.

Yelping in surprise, Midnightpaw realized that Morningrose was going to do the drop-and-roll move, and she would have to get away quick in order to escape being squashed. Waiting until the last minute, when her mentor wouldn't be able to take back the move, she released her grip and leaped off. Instantly afterwards she began to dart over to the stump while Morningrose was still on the ground.

Redsong sighed. He was cheeky. Fantastic. He had a point though. She'd have to tell Rosepaw to go hide better and change hideouts every so often. "Very well. She's alive. However you must know the shadows that cloud her 'death'. She and N- Scarsoul ran into some foxes. She died, her body was never found. Scarsoul escaped without a scratch. Doesn't that seem a little odd to you?" "Of course it does," said Dreampaw, his eyes narrowing. "However, what interests me more is what you intend to do about it? N-Scarsoul? You were about to call him something else. What? If you want my help, if you want my loyalty, if you want to learn what I know, then you have to give me more information then cryptic hints and deadly omens." Dreampaw was perfectly willing to be difficult; it was the only way he knew to get answers. So he felt to guilt for his treatment of Redsong.

Morningrose lashed out with her hind paws as she rolled, aiming for her apprentice's legs. That would knock the younger cat off balance and give Morninngrose enough time to get between her and the stump.

Still darting toward the stump, Midnightpaw didn't notice as Morningrose slashed at her and stumbled at the impact. It took a bit to regain her balance, but by then her mentor was on her feet. She resumed her flee towards the stump, watching the redish she-cat out of the corner of her eye in case she attacked.

The red-furred she-cat launched herself after her apprentice, her paws sending up a shower of sand in her wake. Her mouth gaped, her teeth bared, as she aimed for the younger cat's waving tail.

Midnightpaw could feel Morningrose's breath on her tail, warning her that her mentor was dangerously close to catching her. She attempted to push herself father as she raced closer to the stump.

Morningrose pressed her paws even harder against the sand, growling under her breath. Midnightpaw's tail tip brushed her nose, and the she-cat lunged forward with her mouth open once more.

Hi!)
Midnightpaw saw the stump growing closer and closer, until she could practically feel it. Hope glimmering in her eyes, she took one last leap. But before she reached it, she felt a sharp tug on her tail and fell back to the ground, hope vanishing. She struggled to lift her head to see what had stopped her, although she already knew that it was Morningrose.

Hey Raineh, hi Maple!)
Morningrose dug her paws into her apprentice's shoulders, pinning the younger cat to the ground. The she-cat leant forward until her muzzle was near Midnightpaw's ear and said quietly, "Very close." Morningrose leapt backwards and lashed her tail in the air. "But no close enough." She stepped lightly around her, and placed her front paws possessively on the stump. "Now, I want you to guard the stump, and I'm going to try and reach it. That way you'll get offensive as well as defensive. Sound like a plan?"

Hey guys!)
Foxflight laughed at that. "You must have a really bad memory then if you can't even remember the name of the 'Clan' or why that kit was important," he snickered. The tsunami and earthquake had happened nearly a year ago and he good remember every single detail from the shaking earth and walls of water rising far over their heads to the water dripping from his whiskers when everything went quiet.
Night grinned at her psuedo-challenge. "I can't be killed by the likes of you," he leered. "I am, essentially, immortal." After all, a spirit couldn't be killed. At least, he didn't think so. In all his years, he had never seen a spirit die. His body could die, yes. That would be an annoyance. He, however, would survive.
"Mm..." Redsong could see the stubborn glint in his eye. She wasn't going to get anywhere without answering some things. Thinking on it, she figured that anything she told Dreampaw could easily come back around to bite her in the tail if he decided he liked Night's plan better. "Very well," she meowed. "Scarsoul isn't who he claims to be. He is actually a spirit called Night. I assume you've been told about the ceremony to become a warrior? You must survive a realistic nightmare out in the forest." She shifted herself to a more comfortable position. "Night is the spirit who controls that. Before now he simply existed as a spirit, but now he has a physical form."

Lostkit rose to her unimpressive height, stretching each slender leg in turn. "I would never think of killing you, Night," the white cat scoffed, her green eyes cold as she glared at the tortoiseshell tom. "If you haven't noticed, I rather enjoy not being dead. I have no death wish." Her haunches tensed beneath her, and the tiny she-cat leapt up to balance on a ledge beside his. "You haven't been here in a while," she commented, her ears flattening slightly. "Why is that?" Before he could answer, her eyes darkened, and she lifted one hind paw to scratch at her ear while still balancing precariously on the ledge. She lowered her gaze and murmured, "Is he-" She cleared her throat, forcing her eyes back up to meet his. "Is Scarsoul okay? He's... He's still there, right?"

Coldstar - - For a moment, confusion riddled the soot expression as her visage tightened to a stare at her mate, a sharp studying of his reaction. However, as soon as his reply came, the serious strain lightened and a gentle smile seemed to set little cool lights to the sapphire optics that twinkled at him. Russet tail curled gently around his where it settled at her stomach, her broad cranium softly pressing to his in her sign of affection. A quiet hum of please, her voice came in a murmur that sounded equally relieved as it was excited,
" I'm glad. "
A soft breath, a twitch of her nose, before continuing,
" It'll be difficult, but workable. Emberblaze told me once, I believe, that the second pregnancy isn't as bad as the first... "
Foggedgaze - - Reflective milky pools turned to her sibling with such a whimsical intensity and openness, it was as though the feline could not see the gingered feline but instead was seeing everything within her and through her, to the forest background behind her. The stare was unblinking, unnerving, but her expression was light and it came to be relatively guessed that she was focusing on something else, but had heard her sister's commentary,
" We could, if you'd like. There are fish that have crawled beneath the rocks at the cliffside. "
For a moment, a ruffle traversed down the russet-stained spine, but it was gone in a mere moment and seemed barely recognizable from the spike of her usual pelage. Turning on her heel, her eyes lost their blind whimsy and blinked to a more rhythmic beat, her expression becoming more settled as she came back to herself. A twitch of her tail and a kind look to her companions, she awaited their decision.

Throwback to when Ember wasn't completely nuts)
Mouseclaw smiled, his eyes softening. "That's good," he said quietly. "I remember how bad your sickness was the first time..." His voice trailed off, his eyes glazed with memories. Then they refocused on her, cheerful once again. "This is amazing news, Coldstar."
(Should I have him slip on the rocks and hit his head once they're there or should they hunt a bit first?)
Stormheart nodded eagerly. He would never admit it to his Clanmates, who still had their strong distaste of fish from the time of the land-prey ban, but fish would always be his favorite meal. When Peachblossom nodded absently and looked away into the trees, he licked his lips. Fish meant not having to bite through dusty fur.

Dreampaw's eyes narrowed and his tail twitched as he thought about this. "What is Night planning then?" he asked, already understanding that Night was at the core of this. "And how can he be Scarsoul when Scarsoul is a living, breathing warrior?" Dreampaw was just going to continue pressing until he got an answer. Redsong was just going to have to take a chance on him.

Foxflight looked at her skeptically. "You must have hit it pretty hard then," he meowed. Cats got hit in the head all the time and they didn't lose their memory. only losers like storm do i mean what "If it hurts then you should probably see Iceshadow about it. He's the medicine cat."
Night nodded appreciatively. "Smart," he meowed with a grin. "As for what I've been doing, I've been planning. I intend to start my reign very soon." A pleasant shiver ran down his spine at the thought of finally, finally becoming leader. He would have control over everyone, and if they didn't obey, well.... A smirk appeared on his face. He would break them into little more than a trembling lump of fur. At the mention of Scarsoul he sighed. "I killed him ages ago," he meowed as he stretched. "It's so nice not having to listen to his whiny little voice anymore."
"He wants to lead," Redsong meowed. "Now while that in itself isn't horrible, he has more than enough power to destroy everything." Her gaze darkened. "Nobody will be safe. He will break your minds and your bodies slowly and painfully until you're begging for death because it would be so much easier to just die than keep living like that." She shook her pelt out, lip curling as she spoke. She hated remembering the last few moons she had been alive. When she had gone through that. At Dreampaw's second question she laughed bitterly. "He took over, I assume. Probably either killed the original Scarsoul or has him locked away tight. Scarsoul never existed. He has always been Night."

[ Cold is gonna punch you in the face Night just you wait wow my muse is nothing right now ]
Coldstar - - A soft snort was the reply the leader gave to his words, eyeing him with a teasing sharpness to her sapphire eyes. If there was anyone who remembered her sickness, it was her, the one whose fear was such and had to get through it to go from being an apprentice to a full warrior of the clan. She saw fit to say such, russet tail flicking his shoulder,
" Yes, I remember, Mouseclaw. "
A gentle resting of her cranium on his shoulder, easy to move or push away if he wished. There was a soft smile at her maw anyway at his next words, nuzzling beneath his chin lightly,
" I'm glad you think so. "
Foggedgaze - - Upon seeing both of their agreement, the feline allowed a brief smile to her soot-stained maw before turning on her heel, padding away. Her stalk was as though a shadow itself was creeping against the ground, bowing under a moving sun that cast such darkness to the floor. The flash of her russet tail was her marking beneath the trees, her silver marbled stripes too brief to fully focus on. She kept herself relatively in-sight, never going where they couldn't see or follow her. After a while she dropped back, hanging closer to Stormheart, her elegant cranium leaning down a touch to murmur quietly to him,
" You seem excited to go. "

he is kind of a loser Don't be mean, Iceh!)
Her eyes widened, grief drowning the forced indifference already in her gaze. She opened her mouth, staring at him in disbelief. "You..." Lostkit shook her head slowly. "You can't kill him," she said sharply. "He's a spirit, like you. You couldn't have..." Pain was scrawled on her face like claw marks, contorting it into a tight grimace.
Stormheart lowered his head shyly, glancing at her. "Well, it's-" He let out a nervous chuckle. "It's the fish. They're much better than mice." He wrinkled his nose and added, "Or squirrels. Bleh."
With a flick of his tail, Mouseclaw rolled onto his back and tucked his paws against his chest, gazing at the open sky. "How far along are you?" he murmured. "Have you been to see Iceshadow?"

"Okay," Midnightpaw replied, getting up and padding over to the stump. She crouched into battle stance next to it, glancing at Morningrose and flicking her tail, signaling she was ready.
