Rhysand was quiet for another moment, carefully considering Lani’s words. There was no trace of a lie in her tone, nor over their link. As her Sire, Rhys had a certain degree of control over her. It was nearly impossible for her to lie to him, although it wasn’t unheard of. Still, he doubted she was lying to him. “I do not know,” Rhys responded. “There’s something clearly bothering Pierre, although I’m not sure of what it is. Instinct tells me it’s important.” He drummed his fingers on the table again, shifting his violet gaze towards the window again. “I do not know if it has anything to do with you, or your family, but my gut states it does. I doubt that Pierre wants me here anymore than I have a desire to be here.” Hm; quite the predicament. What to do now? He studied the camera in her lap for a moment, shifting in his seat again. His eyes seemed to glaze over for a moment, as if he was drawn back into a memory of long ago.
“I do not think I ever told you the circumstances of that night,” he said after a moment, almost as if he thought he was alone. The night that Lani had been changed at been… a difficult one in Rhys’ memories. Part of him regretted the action, but part of him rejoiced at having another child in his line. Lani’s transformation hadn’t occurred in the manner that Rhys would’ve preferred, but hindsight was twenty-twenty. He said nothing else for a long moment, before he rather abruptly changed the subject. “What are your siblings here to study?” He could sense her worry, her concern for her siblings, considering that he’d more or less insinuated that they were at the heart of what Pierre was concerned about. “Has your sister been paired yet?” Perhaps it was possible for Rhys to swing it that Allina was paired with him. He could ensure her safety for the most part if that was the case. Lani wanted to see her family protected, and as her Sire it was his duty to extend his own protection towards her family members.

Rhysand was right in that he wouldn't have been summoned had it not been important, but she didn't know what it was. If anyone knew anything and it had to do with her or her family, they'd done a good job keeping her in the dark. "When it comes to family, I would never lie nor do anything that would put them in harm's way," she said earnestly, looking at her Sire as he turned his gaze to the window. She watched as his gaze shifted to the camera in her lap and then suddenly he was far off into a memory.
He was right that he hadn't told her about the night of her Changing, but she was not sure she wanted to know the details of it. At least, not right now. She was grateful, though, for the change in subject. "Allina is here for neurobiology and psychology. Xander is here for physics, or something like that," she answered. The twins were peculiar in that they were so different from her. Sure the seven-year age difference between them didn't help, but as much as she was artistic, they were more logically and scientifically minded. She loved them all the same and given the chance, she would have gone on and on.
But she wasn't here for talk about her siblings, she was here because of whatever brought Rhys to the campus. "Allina hasn't been paired yet, and for that there is some concern," she admitted. Sure she'd kept her distance from the twins, but that didn't keep her from keeping tabs on them. "Is there anything you can do to make sure she's paired with someone who can keep her out of danger's path?"

[[ Hello hello! ]]
| Xander | 20 | Human | Xander nodded, trying to reassure the Vampire at his side. "Yeah, I'm sure," he answered, "Just a little light-headed." He stood again, this time feeling much better and began to head to the door. The boy nodded and looked over at Vison. "Well, we might as well go together," he mused, upping his game with his Ambassador. "Come on, I might need someone to lean on," Xander continued, grinning outwardly, though lurching inwardly. It's all part of the game, he thought to reassure himself, keeping the thought quiet and far back in his mind away from the superficial areas that Vison may have access to.
His eyes lit up at the idea of them going together,"really?!" he asked, gripping his scarf excitedly and putting his face in it to hide his fangs as they slipped out ever so slightly. Oh this was so wonderful! They were going to orientation together! "You can lean on me!" he told him eagerly, looking up at him with a bright gaze. He was practically screaming inside because this was almost like a dream come true! A hunky guy was going to rely on him to stand up while they were at orientation! He could have died right than and there and he would have been content. Too bad he hadn't dug deeper into the other's mind otherwise he would have found out that his Chosen wasn't what he appeared to be. "Well come on then," he mused, heading for the door and watching him carefully because he actually did care a bit for his health, he liked keeping his Chosens alive because well, he liked having a cute little human all to himself.

Xander nodded, letting it come off as him warming up to the Vampire that had been assigned to be his Ambassador. "I mean, why not? We're going to the same place for the same reason, we may as well go together," he reasoned. He wondered how Vison really felt but thought that he wasn't the sort of person to hold back emotions externally or internally so what he displayed was what he felt. There was sense of simplicity in being like that. He shook his head, brushing the thought aside as he headed out the door behind Vison. He felt fine, despite the episode of dizziness and wooziness a few moments ago, and was ready to continue what he was here for. They followed the path down to the main entrance and headed out the door back to where they'd first met in the courtyard.

| Allina | 20 | Human |
Allina, though her head phones were in and her nose stuck in her book, felt the shadow of people walking past her. There were many of them, all walking to the new student orientation or getting ready to go to their first class of the academic year. However, there were two passing her as a pair that caught her attention when she looked up. They were too far away for her to hear their conversation, and her music helped with that, but was genuinely curious about what they were talking about. So, she took off her headphones, packed her books, and stood up to follow the girl who was walking away from the boy. From the looks of it siblings, she knew all too well as it was what she imagined she looked like when she walked away from her own brother.
"Hey!" she called out, jogging to catch up to the girl.
Rebecca couldn’t help but smirk slightly as she walked away from her brother. She knew he hated nicknames, yet she insisted on calling him by them. She did that to all her siblings, and she especially liked embarrassing nicknames, but she knew better than to say one of those in public. She heard her brother mumble, “Brat,” under his breath, and she only smirked further. He was upset, but if that was the only reason he was mad at her, she didn’t mind because she much preferred for him to be mad over a nickname than for him to be mad about something much more serious. Her attention soon turned to the girl who had called out to her. Rebecca stopped and turned to see who was approaching, and she decided to wait for the girl to catch up to her.

[[ Hello hello! ]]
Allina caught up easily, really not needing to jog but did so anyway. "Hi," she said again. If this girl was being defiant to her brother, then Allina had to be friends with her. Though, there were other reasons to be friends with someone, at least this could be a starting point. She fidgeted with her pack strap as she got closer to the girl. "Older brother?" she said as a prelude into what she hoped would be a conversation. Sure the girl enjoyed being on her own and getting things done, but she also enjoyed talking to people in small groups and being new to the school, she thought that maybe it would be good to at least talk to someone. Maybe make a friend or two who weren't her brother.

(Hey ^^ What’s up?)
Rebecca nodded once in acknowledgement before saying, “Hey.” While she wasn’t entirely pleased that the first person she spoke with, other than her brother, was a human, she didn’t show it on her face. It didn’t hurt to make friends with humans – she knew that – but she much preferred to make friends with vampires. “Unfortunately,” she said as a slight smirk crossed her face. Her brother wasn’t quite out of earshot, and she heard him mumble some unkind words about her under his breath. She’d probably hear it later from him, but she really didn’t care. She could deal with his anger over a comment like that. “And he’s not the only brother I have to deal with.”

[[ Nothing much! Just debating when to eat. haha you? ]]
Allina was none the wiser, at this point, that there were even two different species at the school. She seemed to be the only one in the Trang family who was naive to the fact that Vampires even existed. "Are they all older than you?" she asked, making a face. One older brother was enough to drive her crazy, she didn't know what she would do if she had more than one. "I've only got one, I don't even know how you'd be able to handle more than that!" She shook her head at the thought and glanced around to see the other students milling around the courtyard. "Anyway, the way you just walked away from him was almost exactly what I imagined my brother and I look like after he says something dumb," she laughed.

(I’m watching a hockey game, and my sister and I want opposite teams.)
Rebecca nodded once as she made a face. “Yeah, they both are. I swear, I don’t know how I made it through growing up with both of them in the house.” Samuel was out of earshot now, so she didn’t have to worry about him doing anything in response to what she said about him. Her brothers were about a year and a half apart and they were in back-to-back grades, so it always seemed like there was some unspoken competition between them when they were younger. Thankfully they had grown out of that, though they hadn’t gotten less annoying the older they became. “Oh, my brother didn’t say anything dumb. I just didn’t want to listen to him anymore. He was trying to give me a tour of the school, but I didn’t want to hear it anymore.”

[[ Ahh, that's fun! Gotta love that sibling rivalry xp ]]
"Oh goodness gracious, that sounds completely unbearable. You must have a crazy high tolerance level for guys," Allina said with a small smile. She honestly didn't know that she'd be able to deal with it, but there was some saying about things being different when you're in the situation. "Ah, that's another thing that they do rather consistently," she said with a small chuckle, "Keep talking when we really don't want to listen to them anymore." Being twins, Allina was actually rather close with Xander, but there were some points in time where she needed him to back off because she felt so sequestered with his "protectiveness". She wanted to be her own person, but when she decided to come here and he'd been offered a place as well, Xander followed along. She sighed and glanced around. "Well, if you don't want to be given a tour, would you mind being the tour guide?" she mused.

I've been busy all day I'm afraid) A faint little gasp escaped and he couldn't help the little squeal of excitement that followed when Xander explained that it really only made sense they go together. Xander was right in assuming that Vison was the type of person who didn't hide their emotions, he just never seemed capable of doing so. Sure he could hide his motives and he could be sneaky, but emotions? That was a whole new ball game and what you saw was what you got when it came to the pureblood. He hummed a tune as they headed back down the stairs and out of the dorms towards the courtyard where they'd originally met up. Oh this was going to be so much fun this semester! His Chosen was quite the hunk of a guy and his personality was just oodles of fun to put up with because it wasn't something that Vison was really all that used to, at least not on a constant basis.

[[ No worries! ]]
Xander let Vison's emotions and energy feed him, both in his act and in his motive. He kept up the coy, but slightly withdrawn version of himself to keep Vison on his side, unsuspecting of anything that could go wrong. Now, if Xander were to be truthful, he would be lying if he said that there wasn't something about Vison that he liked. But he was in the wrong place to be even remotely attracted to someone. Besides... never mind, that was beside the point, as the boy shook his head to clear the thoughts that began to run through his mind. He turned to make sure that Vison was still nearby as he headed into the main building where Orientation was supposedly being held.
