A New Era Has Come
There is no such thing as heroes. Things like that don't exist, though they were the closest things to it. They were vigilantes. Saviors. Individuals who sacrificed everything they had for this city. We looked up to them. We wanted to be just like them. Money for the poor, roofs for the homeless, they provided everything the city could ever want. They were... they were the epitome of good. They filled the streets with symbols of hope. And for the briefest moments, we believed. We thought they were here to save us. To protect us.
But we were wrong.
From a budding ember of hope came a brilliant blaze of destruction. Nobody knows what happened to them. What changed. Nobody knows why they became so different. Our Golden Age crumbled as they were consumed in jealousy, grief, violence, desire, arrogance, corruption, and hate. They were lost to us. They were once heroes - or the closest things to them. They were once beacons of light; their marks meant justice had been served. No one knows what happened, but violence ate them up from the inside. And once it had claimed them, it didn't stop there. It destroyed everyone and everything.
Things didn't just revert back to normal, oh no. They got worse. The divisions between the poor and rich became more evident. The streets were filled with unconstrained chaos. They were once our heroes. Now, they're our tyrants. Once we believed The Septet stood for everything good, but now we know. They were the opposite of justice and kindness. They were nothing but a lie.
People like them don't deserve anything. The only thing they deserve is death. We have risen, a new generation of so-called heroes. We are their opposites, their antitheses. We stand for what they once claimed to stand for. The time has come for the Septet and their reign of terror to end It's time to reclaim the city.
