What did money have to do with anything? Ash rolled her eyes and walked off, grumbling angry comments under her breath.
Drake wasn't deterred by the lack of conversation. "Do you think you could help me find my dorm? I'm new and quite confused." He said with a pleasant grin.

Turtleshell
Tess was busy unpacking in her dorm, sorting through her riding clothes and day clothes, and all the personal items she had brought from home. Any second now, her dorm mate could come. All she could do was hope that she wasn't an uptight, or a stuck up richie. She wanted someone who she could really get to know, someone she'd want to hang out with.
Winona Lachlan let out a long sigh, nodding. "What's your dorm number." He said it more like a statement instead of a question. Hopefully, he wasn't paired up with this one. He seemed like he could talk Lachlan's ear off in seconds. He was fighting the urge to punch him or something, being in one of her darker moods, but he reminded himself he wasn't going to get expelled.

| Emma | Open// |
Emma frowned at the list of barn chores she needed to accomplish that afternoon at the academy. Of course she would be warming Remmy up, the five year old prospect mare from Paris. Placing the pen back in it's place, clipped on the side of the clipboard, before resuming in her direction towards the feed room to prepare Remmy's feed. Emma pondered on whether or not to add a carrot to the mash of corn, clover pellet, and health supplements. She figured that it would do her some good to get to know the new edition, in fact she was the one who recommended the academy try.
| Remmy | Open// |
A loft of cool air interrupted the mare's dream-ful state of dozing off with her head resting on the fence of the turnout and tail sweeping in spite of the flies.
( Both replies are short, but are starters for anyone who would like to join in. Replies for me usually range from 1-3 paragraphs )

Mick walked off the elevator onto the first dorm floor, after the lobby. She was grateful to not be so high in the dorm building this time- it made for a very short trip on the elevator- but she was rather disappointed in not getting much of a view. Being close to the ground meant, well, you were close to the ground. Technically the second story, there wasn't much height to get a good view. Plus she didn't get to overlook the barns out her window, but the Grand Entrance, which wasn't so bad, she guessed. She could see students walk to and from the dorms to the classrooms and dining hall. The door to her dorm was slightly cracked open, so she knew her roommate had arrived. She held her breath, feeling nervous; she prayed she would like her this dorm partner this year, as last year was awful. The hunter/jumper finally opened the door, taking a look; her side of the room was bare, having only thrown her two suitcases on the floor by her bed, and her two other bags on her bed. "Hello," Mickey let out, smiling at Tess.
---
Jamie caught sight of Emma in the English Barn, entering the feed room. He smiled and shook his head lightly, the Hunter Trainer that worked in tandem with him was attached to caring for the mare, even going above and beyond her job. He would have to brake the news to her soon that Violet had given him. He wasn't necessarily indifferent, per-say, but rather used to it..."Emma," he called as he entered behind him. "I told you the Overseer will get the hands to take care of all that. You don't have to be so hands on." He figured he wouldn't convince her, though. He liked to take the time to feed sometimes, too.

Violet was sitting in her office, alone, by herself. She had her typical scowl on, and was staring out her large front windows, overlooking the Grand Entrance and parking lot, taking a look at the students coming in.

Tess turned around with a grin. "Hey! I'm Tessah, but my friends call me Tess." She winked at her, surprisingly friendly for all the snobby richies that were around. Her grin faded quickly, as she eyed Mickey up and down. "You're not a richie, are you?" Her eyebrow was raised, showing a particular distaste for the richies.

(So 11-20 face barns and the rest of the property, from 1-10 you can see the Grand Entrance, parking lot (though the trees mostly block it, so it's not an eyesore) as well as some of the dining hall and classrooms, depending how high you are you get a better view)
"Why?" Mickey asked lightly, voice quiet. "Is that..." she trailed off, not even sure what the girl would think. Why did everything here have to be rich verse poor? It wasn't even like she was that poor, honestly. Just not crazy rich like the rest of them..."I'm Mickey, I got by Mick a lot," she told her, not sure how to answer her question. She liked how Tess was already setting up the room, clearly putting effort into it. Mick just sat on the bed, staring at her stuff as if she didn't know what to do...last year she had no room at all, her roommate even daring to take over her desk for the most part. Mick spent most of her time out of the dorm because of that.

Emma regarded Jamie's approach thoughtfully, "I figured something like this would happen." She inclined her head to the bucket of feed and then to Remmy's stall. "I'll just dump it in her bucket and it will be ready for her when she comes back in from turnout.. in let's see... possibly an hour more?" Emma felt strongly for the mare, for a special reason of course. Remmy looked awfully like Emma's first horse, a stallion that went by the name; Whizz. Whizz, an older thoroughbred, passed away just a few years before she joined the academy as a student, later becoming the desired role as a hunter/jumper trainer. "Anyways, before I go: is there anything I should know? New students? More lessons for this week?"

Tess shook her head. "Well, as long as you are a stuck up priss, I think we'll get along fine. I've only just been here, and already I can tell the richies think they've got something on the scholarshippers." She let out a disapproving sigh. "What money can do for a person these days. What money can do to a person these days, for that matter."

Gloria decided to take a walk around the paddocks. She had her cellphone in the pocket of her short white shorts and earbuds in her ears. Her blonde hair was in a high ponytail that swayed side to side when she walked- just like her hips.

Jamie frowned. "I...well, Violet came to a decision. We're going to offer Remmy up for sale to one of the students. We never have enough options for them-" the Head H/J trainer complained, "and Remmy isn't going to be a good academy horse. You knew that. We can make additional money this way." He knew she may possibly be upset. But the good thing about selling Remmy to the students is she was almost certain to stay here; most of the time, at least. He didn't want to see the younger trainer saddened by the thought though...
---
Violet spun around, eyes narrowed, but upon seeing Claire, she relaxed a tad. Not much, however. "Yes, Claire?" she questioned, tapping her toes as if impatient. "You greeted your students already, I assume?" she questioned. Had they all arrived, already? Certainly, or Claire would not be bothering her, yes?
---
Mick nodded at Tess now. "I'm not a Richie. I...wasn't sure if you were," she stated. "They're do kind of run things here...but not all of them are bad," she told her. Just most, she thought to herself. "What discipline are you?" she asked, curiously. "I do Hunter/Jumper," she offered, hoping to keep the peace.

Emma frowned, "And for which student do you suppose Remmy will be offered to?" Shaking her head softly and maintaining eye-contact she added; "She has prospect Jamie, you know that. I'll need to know if I should keep her on the board for jump height or not." Of course if Remmy were to be bought as a trail horse, or anything that did not involve o/f, her reaction would be simple: disappointed in spite of her understanding. The younger trainer had indeed grown to love Remmy, but she figured in time this would happen. The academy already had a wide variety of champions, but surely not like Remmy, of course that's what she believed. She hoped whoever got the chance to own the Dutch Warmblood, they would treat her right and continue training her.

Remmy inclined her neck, her eyes following behind the girl as she made her way around Remmy's turnout. She snorted and pawed the ground, before walking aimlessly around in her pen with her ears pinned. Of course, this wasn't normal to the people she knew now, but her old owners had grown to understand Remmy's movements and sounds. Remmy let out a shrill whinny, similar to a fillies.

(Oh lol. Well my reply doesn't change much that way, still. Edited, though.)
The Head Mistress sighed, turning back to the window before answering, "Go ahead, Claire. Don't make me wait any longer. The suspense is killing me," she responded, her voice bitter and dripping with mock enthusiasm. It was clear she was uninterested at the moment. There was a lot going on today, a lot to make sure went right, and a lot that could go wrong.
Jamie quickly responded, "No, keep with jump height. We will for sure keep her for any discipline involving jump. I, can't, however, guarantee she will be kept strictly for Hunter/Jumper students. We may have to branch out to eventers, show jumpers and the like. There's a possibility that Violet is unwilling to wait too long. The best time to sell, as you know, is right off at the start of the school year..." he reminded her gently.

Emma nodded slowly, "Remmy will do well to be a cross country horse, she's bombproof, safe, and definitely willing." It didn't take her long to realize that arguing, even if it was subtle, wouldn't do her any good; "Alright. Violet may do whatever she pleases with Remmy, and of course. My preference however, is for Remmy to remain in our show circuit."

Gloria smiled. "Hey girl," she said and held hr hand out for the horse. "Are you new here? You're a pretty girl,"
"Well.. " Claire said as she pulled out a flyer from her pocket. "I found a competition I want to enroll my students in. It's at the end of the year but it could be something to entice them to work hard all year. I can only enroll a maximum of eight riders."

(Hey Silv! Lily is paired with Ash in the dorms, so I think Blaze is gone now but they can introduce themselves next time you're both on? Want to rp with us, for now?)
Violet sighed. "I thought I told you to get this stiff together already," she almost growled. "Yes! Do it now! I want the schedule complete and set in stone already. If you need more assistance, you need to step up right away. Quit wasting time," she demanded. In all honesty, she was not mad at Claire. She hadn't actually done anything wrong. Violet was just...stressed. Her phone suddenly rang. "Great..." she muttered, answering the old corded phone sitting on her desk. "Yes?" she questioned, listening to the line. "WHAT?!" she yelled to the person on the other end.
Jamie replied, "Of course. You act like I don't treat the horses in our training like the very best," he remarked, though he knew it wasn't true that she thought that. He treated each horse like it was a queen or king. Sure, they had to work. So did everyone in the world.
