The child gave a nod. "Yeah, lots of people probably." She seemed pretty un-bothered by that idea, though there was just a slight dip in her tone, and the way she couldn't hold eye contact afterwards that proved her nonchalant attitude was a facade. "There are actually quite a few competent adults. At least, I think they are. Vincent, Enjolras, Rex, Eddie doesn't seem very competent but I don't know him very well yet..." Shilo reported honestly. As Combeferre explained his reasoning for a competent, non-condescending adult, Shilo just shook her head. Even her mother would allow her to try anything as long as she was supervised, it was the best way to learn. But then she thought back to the room where everyone froze instead of blinked, and Rex and L yelling at her to not go look for the one woman... Maybe it hadn't been a condescending thing, though... Shilo stuck to her answer.
"Oh, North..." Shilo shrunk back a little bit, half expecting to get a punishment for guessing incorrectly. Brest is in the North. North, North, North. She repeated in her mind until she was sure she would never forget it again. "Yeah, America. Wyoming." She said, though exactly where in Wyoming she couldn't say. Even the state, and her name, were enough information for anyone in the House. And her father could never know that she'd told anyone even that much.

Combeferre's eyes widened. It sounded dangerous, but Shilo was right. It also sounded fun. "Has anyone ever died in a room?" He was sure, if there was such a danger to going in, that the answer would yes. He wasn't sure how he'd deal with it if that was the answer... he wasn't sure he liked the idea of rooms too much if people had died. Then again, there was always something to learn from a challenge, and danger usually meant a challenge of some sort. "I think... well, if there are any competent adults here, I'd like to go in a room with one of them. But a competent adult who isn't condescending, y'know? Because there are too many that are mean and won't let me do anything cause I'm a kid and I'm sure you've had a similar experience at least once." He was very clear on what he wanted, and always very frustrated when his plans were stopped because he was "too young" to do something. "North, actually," Combeferre replied, raising an eyebrow. He was surprised Shilo knew anything about it. He didn't know that much about the United States. He could name... three or four states, if hard pressed. But he did know European geography decently. "Where are you from? America?" Her accent, before she'd started speaking French, had sounded distinctly American. There weren't any other accents that sounded quite like it.

(Who would El get along best with: an overly optimistic newsboy, an anxious dead teen, an angsty demigod, or will byers?)
"That's good!" Combeferre grinned as he replied. "There are some adults at home who are so focused on looking like they have everything together and like their lives are perfect that they don't ever actually get anything done, and they are pretty much useless whenever it comes to anything important. They just care about status and think little kids are too young to understand that money and status are all that matters. I just think it's shallow." He wrinkled his nose in distaste. He didn't like some of the adults that his parents chose to associate with, but they had money and it was sort of an expectation that in order to remain in societal good graces they had to maintain relationships with people like that. "It's nice that there are adults here who don't think like that. And who'll let kids do stuff that we're capable of doing. You know how people talk about how babies don't have object permanence? I think people forget that we're quite a bit smarter than babies and not only because we actually understand object permanence." He crossed his arms, shrugging slightly. "I'm surprised you even know anything about Brest," he smiled, trying to catch her eye. "Most people don't. It's okay you got the geography a bit wrong. I don't have a clue where Wyoming is. It sounds land-locked." He wasn't sure if that would make her feel better or not.

Nico appeared in the lodge, his expression guarded and his sword drawn. He glanced around for a moment, taking a deep breath and sheathing his weapon. He wasn't alone, but he wasn't really in any danger here. The lodge especially was safe, even when the rest of the House wasn't. Or at least the lodge was safe until it wasn't... every year something seemed to happen, but he was grateful that hadn't been the case yet, it seemed. Taking a cursory scan of the room, he noticed someone else. A girl who couldn't have been less than a few years younger than him. She looked upset, though Nico wasn't the greatest at helping out with that sort of thing. Carefully, he approached her.

Shilo wrinkled her nose as well as Ferre went on about the stupid adults in his life. "They sound annoying. I'm sorry you have to deal with that." That was something she could say she liked about her father, he believed that she could do just about anything and he allowed her to do it...sometimes even made her and didn't give her the choice to say no. "I only know my dad." She explained, sort of. "He doesn't have friends, and I'm not allowed to leave home. So, he's the only adult I know and he's far from competent, and knows I am too. So, I'm basically an adult too, but only I'm six." Shilo explained, not in a bragging way or anything.
"I don't know if you can really blame the adults though. There are some things adults do all the time that are super simple, and they get hurt doing them, right? And they're adults. They just want to make sure you don't get hurt." She shrugged. "Or maybe they're just asses who don't understand that just because you're smaller than them doesn't mean you're just as incompetent ." Speaking of incompetent... Brest is in the North. She rubbed her arm comfortingly. "My papa makes sure I know a lot of things. Especially France. He really likes France." That was where her parents go married after all. "Wyoming is kind of at the center of the United States, above Colorado and below Montana." She didn't really feel better.

The House had an unfortunate habit of blinking Eliyen at bad times, and this was no exception. The elf appeared in the room spattered with oddly dark blood, holding a large dagger in each hand. She blinked in at just the right time to plunge one dagger into a box in front of her and send the other one hurtling toward the wall. She frowned when neither weapon met its intended target and glanced around the room. "This again, now?" she complained. At first she'd been glad to blink into the House- she'd been searching for a way to travel to another world for years, but it hadn't taken long for her to realize that it wasn't the world she was looking for, just another distraction that refused to be ignored.

Eliyen glanced over at the person who just appeared. Another blinker she didn't recognize, which wasn't really unusual- it seemed pretty normal for her to see different ones every time she appeared. He didn't seem too happy about being dragged into the House either. "Hey," she replied, removing the dagger from the box and walking over to retrieve the other one from the wall. "This place pick a bad time for you too?" She examined the daggers as she considered sheathing them. Would they return to her hands when she was sent back? "I mean, not that there's really a good time to be pulled out of your world for..." she trailed off as she looked around at the room, full of its decorations and boxes. She still wasn't sure what it was for. "This."

Eises' ears twitched as she turned to see the door that the android was pointing to. Without even realising, her tail started to wag rapidly just at the thought of seeing snow again. She jogged past 7S over to the door and quickly opened it, her face lighting up like a child in a candy store. The wolf gathered some of the snow on the ground onto her arms and placed her face into it. She looked over to the holographic screen that the android summoned. It reminded her a lot of Evina's phone, it was able to summon holographic screens somehow too. Only, Eises didn't see any sort of cellphone. "How are you doing that?" Was it some robot power? "What else can you show with that?" She asked excitedly. All 7S could do was watch as Eises suddenly scooped up snow and began shoving her face into it, as if she had just reunited with a lost friend. The Android raised her brows slightly in amusement. There were things in the world she enjoyed as well, but she wasn't sure she loved them that much... Maybe... The cold air from outside crept into the lodge, a slight breeze ruffling 7S uniform. It was a nice change from deserts and cities that might as well have been jungles, aka the warmer climates the S type was used to. She streched her arms out and took a long breath of the chilly oxygen, before letting out a content sigh. With her Black Box able to adjust her temperature to whatever it needed to be to suit the environment, she didn't have to worry much about stuff like hypothermia. "What, this?" 7S glanced back at the small Bunker. Reaching up to tap her cheek, "Hmm. It'd take all day for me to explain how exactly it works, so let just say... magic!" It wasn't a completely cop out reply in all honesty. There were theories that there was old world magic integrated into a YoRHa unit's system, allowing them to do the strange things they could do. Being able to produce tangible holograms out of nowhere was just one of these 'features'. It was even more noticeable when in battle, with them able to summon and dismiss weapons at will, swing them around without touching them, completely phase through enemy attacks when dodging and so forth. No normal Androids could do anything of the sort. "Anything I've seen really." 7S snapped her fingers and the holographic Bunker vanished. Right after, a replica of a small Stubby Machine Lifeform replaced it. She didn't need to have snapped at all to change the image, but 7S had decided to add a bit of dramatic flare to her little show, a showy grin forming in her face. The replica began rotating around as if on a pedestal, one of it's arms raising in a waving gesture. Then, a strange outfit appeared on the bot. "Found a group of these dumb things running around in... that, the other day. They were repeating some garbled gibberish like 'Howdy partner', 'Put em up' and 'Time to wet the whistle'." The outfit, of course, was makeshift cowboy garb. The Stubbies had somehow managed to get their hands on real hats and ammo belts, the rest was thrown together with old rags and whatever else would work as fabric. 7S had no clue what they had been trying to accomplish. During her observation of the strange group, she had been forced to split her attention between taking notes on their behavior and trying to block out 6S begging her to let him hack one of the bots and make them fight each other. While the younger model was usually good natured, and at times a little gullible, he took quite a bit of enjoyment in any opportunity he got to destroy enemy machines, or just be in combat in general. Which meant 7S was always reminding him that he was the wrong Type to be going around fighting machines willy-nilly, much to his chagrin. Even so, when the effort was put in, he was just as capable at his duties as 7S was with hers.

Eliyen nodded, her gaze focused on the daggers as she started to spin one of them. Couldn't the House have at least given her a chance to finish off the last two shades and go back to the tree she'd left her cloak in? Maybe get rid of some of the blood before it dried? Taking her from a tavern and dropping her in the living room was sort of okay... ish... but interrupting a fight to stick her in some oddly decorated cabin where it snowed in September? Was there even a point? At his question, she glanced up from the blade, though it kept spinning. "Yeah- a few shades," she answered, managing to keep her irritation at the House from seeping into her voice. It took a moment for her to remember that he probably had no idea what she was talking about. "Emotionless vampire-type things that feed on energy. If they find you they'll kill you- if they don't turn you into one of them."

She didn't think that was possible for an android, but since she was from a different world she couldn't exactly question it either. She couldn't help but smile a little at the small little robots the android was showing her. "Those are kinda cute." The wolf chuckled, not expecting them to talk to like a cowboy...well, talk at all. "Robots back home don't talk or think. They're pretty borin' until you have to fight an army of 'em." Of course, those armies were programmed to fight and do nothing else.

[/div] "Like this," Arlo said as she reached into the box. She paused, holding a small green star speckled with gold glitter. It was around three in the morning in her world, if she wanted to make any more notes about the lodge and other blinkers in her book it would be best to do it before she was sent back. She hung the star, then reached into her pocket for a certain notebook- it was not as thick and was in better condition, but yes, it was the same one- and flipped it open to a blank page. The girl started writing quickly, glancing up at the other two blinkers occasionally and pausing to hang another ornament. "Sorry, I just want to write something down real quick- If I wait I might wake my parents up with my flashlight."

Winter Lodge -- Kid -- Auransky --cato phoenixOf course, the thief noticed Elliot seemed a bit distracted. But he made no comment. The idea of conforming to the House - as something which just happened - wasn't so foreign as it had been when he'd been an early blinker like Elliot. Maybe he would start acting like Kid and Arlo, almost comfortable, or maybe he would be another Vincent rebelling. He didn't know. But he turned back to the boxes of ornaments and started taking some out. "I didn't catch where you came from," he asked Elliot, to make conversation. He noticed Arlo taking her notebook from the corner of his eye. His fingers twitched to his own pockets, as if he was thinking of grabbing his own notebook. But of course he didn't have one. He hadn't been keeping it since ... well. Since he thought he wasn't going to come back. But he knew this wasn't his Arlo now. Not unless there was a lot about her notebook he'd never seen. "How are your drawings these days?" he asked her. "Or rather, do you draw?" He supposed there might be some inconsistencies between the Arlo he knew and this Arlo.

"These day- oh, right," Arlo stopped mid-question, understanding. The older Arlo, the one Kaito knew, also liked to draw. It made since that she would too. For a moment the realization hit her that the thief could actually know more about her than she knew about herself, that a lot of people here probably knew more about her than she knew about herself. Pushing the thought away before it could become any more unsettling, she smiled and nodded. "Yeah, I draw! A lot of times it's stuff from places I've been- especially the House. I've been keeping notes on it, and the people who come here, and their worlds and stuff too."The girl flipped a few pages until she found the sketch she'd been working on earlier that day, a picture of the lodge. While it would take years for her to reach the skill of her older self, the picture was surprisingly well done for an eleven year old. "My parents gave it to me for my birthday and pages can be added or replaced, so I don't have to worry about running out." Despite this, her writing on the page beside the picture was tiny, as if she was trying to make sure she could fit as much as possible on it.

With a silent nod, Elliot approached the boxes then knelt down. There was many colorful decorations, some he was somewhat familiar with and others he wasn't. The marvels of time changing, and even shapes and symbols that people would put on a tree. He reached for a wooden carving of a reindeer, it was small yet simple. He smiled briefly before getting up to place the decoration on the tree. His kimono all the way to the floor, gently moving with his own movements. He couldn't help but turn his head slightly when addressed, the gentlemen thief was indirectly asking where he was from.Returning to the box for another decoration after being asked he shook his head slightly, "I think it's best that such a place gets erased from time." He softly spoke. He knew where he was from, he had to know... he only announced the homefront so many times. Yet every time he did, it sickened him... He stood once again with multiple colored decorations, his attention now directly towards kid. "Apologies for my rudeness." He lastly addressed before returning to tree decorating. Overall, it seemed like the young girl, Arlo was keeping the discussion going, even in a different direction. He felt a bit of regret for trying to directly push the discussion away, but seeing these strangers talk about literally anything else made him briefly happy, he didn't want to ruin the only moment he wasn't being watched.

Julius blinked into the lodge, rubbing the back and sides of his sore neck. He exhaled deeply, A room? He continued rubbing his neck and then shoulders as he looked around, no concern whatsoever on his face. Silently, he took out a cigarette from his shirt pocket and flicked the tip with his magic, lighting it. He quietly enjoyed his drag, not bothering to explore this place.

"Did you really have to throw that at me?!" Bass blinked in the lodge, sending an intense glare over his shoulder as he held a wrench in the other hand. His angered simmered somewhat when the scientist was no longer in front of him, but a white haired male. The robot's gaze lingered on him, taking in his appearance. He looked vaguely familiar...especially with that cigarette. "Volleyball guy!" His crimson eyes lit up with realization. "Dammit, you're the one that messed up my human nose!"

Julius' horns twitched at the sudden voice near him. He breathed out clouds of smoke, annoyed at the sudden yelling. Loud noises always bothered him, why couldn't people speak a little quieter? He raised an eyebrow as he turned his head, tilting his head at the boy with the...thing on his head. What were those, frills? It was a very strange appearance, that was for sure. At the mention of volleyball, the viper's memory clicked. Oh yeah. Was this really the same kid? Then again Julius didn't pay too much attention to him at the time. "You playing dress up or something?"
