Touka was equally confused by Rex’s behavior. Why was he playing dumb? Had the House done something to him? She suppressed a hint of worry - no, he at least recognized her. But did he not remember the forest? She knew the memories had been distorted and strange since their clones has gone, but still...no one else had forgotten. She frowned, disliking how much she was caught off guard now. She’d expected a confrontation, or...something other than this. “What room do you remember blinking into last?” she asked slowly, after a long pause. Could he have forgotten? No, she wouldn’t believe something that convenient would’ve happened here. But if he wasn’t forgetting, why was he pretending like their conversation - if it could be called that - had never happened? Avoidance was unlike the Rex she’d come to know.
Hange took the reins of the sled, studying the other’s expression. They found it hard to read her - she had an ethereal, almost otherworldly aura to her, like all this multidimensional nonsense was beneath her, or something like that. They glanced again at the sled, tilting their head. “Ride it?” they questioned, mildly confused. “In this snow, that seems like it would be even more of a drain on our energy than just walking, seeing as one of us would have to pull it.” Maybe Ougi wanted to ride while Hange pulled? That could work, but it seemed like more trouble than it was worth. “Ah, eight months,” they answered quickly, the information readily available in their mind as. Ougi summoned it. They didn’t seem to mind the change of subject. “Eight months exactly as of today, actually. And you?”

"Yes, ride it. Perhaps down a hill?" She jutted one arm out to gesture farther away from the lodge, pink sleeve flapping in the breeze. "As a leisure activity," she clarified. Then at Hange's answer to her question, Ougi's eyes widened slightly in a moment of surprise. Her arm remained horizontal for a moment longer while she stood still in the knee-deep snow, hair and clothes wobbling thoroughly, and then it lowered smoothly, almost robotically back to her side to hold down her skirt. "Eight months as well," she informed them. That is, she had existed as an entity for eight months. As she had discovered early on in her time in the Paradox House, not everyone began blinking in at the start of their existence. But this was a topic on which she was reticent. She navigated her life as if she were truly a fifteen year old student, only it was a fallacy. "What an interesting coincidence," she murmured, voice nearly completely absorbed by the powdery snow surrounding them. The only marks nearby were holes from their footsteps and striations from the sled. "Did something significant occur in your life eight months ago?"

mintedstar/fur (Alright, see ya later!) Mika watched him silently for a second, then eventually nodded slowly, giving him his hand while placing the other one on Myrnin’s shoulder. He stared a passing couple, trying to remember exactly how they moved. “Alright, this shouldn’t be too difficult,” he muttered, returning his gaze back to the other blinker. “But just because we’re doing this still doesn’t mean I like you.” He chuckled and slowly took a step to the side without waiting for Myrnin to take the lead. (Sorry for totally disappearing yesterday. I ended up being very busy.) "Never said you did," Myrnin said dismissively. He mimicked Mikaela's movement, since it was the right one. He didn't need to look at the other dancers to know what to do. Instead, he took another step, waiting for Mika to follow. They were a bit out of tempo with the music, but that was okay for now. They could catch up. "You do a small turn next," he said. He had to wait a second for the nearest couple to catch up before he nodded over at them. "Have you ever danced before? The vampires of my world were often into the frivolous things like this."

Touka gritted her teeth as he blustered on, heat rising in her chest as he confirmed that he did remember. She’d been willing to assign him House-induced amnesia, but... “Why the hell are you acting like this?” she snapped, confused and hurt all at the same time, once again. “You made it pretty clear back in the library how you felt about what I am, so just stop, okay? At least have the dignity to say it out loud.” She’d thought this conversation would help, but...did he just think he could avoid the situation like this? Watching him pretend like everything was ok was just pulling the wound open all over again - it wasn’t like he could really be ok with her, so couldn’t he just rip the bandage off and get it over with?
“Down the hill...?” Hange glanced at the sled, then at the slope. Their initial instinct would have been to pull the sled around the whole hill, waiting until they reached a place level enough to continue. That was protocol, after all. They couldn’t afford to lose cargo by trying...well, something as reckless as pushing it off. But this wasn’t their world, was it? And it wasn’t like Levi was here to tell them not to... Grinning, they climbed aboard the sled, adjusting their position a little until they could peer safely over the slight rim that made up the front. Then they twisted themself backwards to face Ougi. “Is that so??” they queried, raising their eyebrows. “That is quite a coincidence.” And as for something significant...? “Mm, not particularly,” they said, wracking their brain. “In fact, the House’s entrance into my life was by far the most interesting thing that had happened to me in quite some time.”

"You're sure?" Ougi stepped over to the sled, walking ahead of Hange and taking the rope to pull it toward the slope. The words 'hold on' weren't necessary--the slope was daunting enough. She didn't look at the other blinker, wrapped up in her own thoughts. The most interesting thing... She slowed to a stop, tugging the sled one last time. The Paradox House... was a force that entered people's lives. Is it possible they just forgot something significant related to their blinking in here? A noise broke her concentration, and she looked behind her to see that the sled was inching forward on its own. It was close enough to the slope to start sliding down it. Just before her feet were caught in its wake, she lifted them up and half-jumped half-fell onto the sled, right into Hange's lap. She was quite light, but her flailing was somewhat of a threat. It took all her focus to find the edges of the sled and hang on while it plummeted down the hill.

“Yes, in fact, it had been quite a boring year prior to blinking in...I hadn’t made any significant breakthroughs in several months, and there had been no significant titan activity in some time. “If I had to name a change, it would be the reverse - a number of interesting things began to happen in my world after I blinked in for the first time.” Hange had been so caught up in their train of thought, they hadn’t noticed the sled inching forward until it was much too late to do anything about it. Ougi leapt up, caught in the sled’s momentum and ending up straight on top of them. They had a split second to wonder how this would go before they tipped over the edge and... NYOOM. They grabbed onto the sides of the sled for traction as it raced down the hill, a grin splitting their features that soon turned into a joyful shout. The wind in their hair, the blinding speed...it was just like being in the air. A tree loomed suddenly into view, drawing closer and closer as they sped downhill. On instinct, they gripped the sides of the sled even harder. “Lean to the right!!” they instructed Ougi, hoping her added weight would be enough to throw them around the obstacle.

Ougi followed Hange's instruction and bent her body far to the right, leaning over the snow past the sled's edge. Her eyes were squinted from the wind, and the snow flying in her face and through her hair, but other than that she was calmer than anyone should be in such an exciting situation. Without knowing Ougi well, one could say she may have even looked bored. After they successfully dodged the tree, it seemed to be a straight shot to the bottom of the hill. They gradually slowed, until there was a sudden stop and a buildup of snow in front of them, so much so that it had piled onto Ougi. The student's hair stuck straight up at this point from blasting down the hill, and she turned her head to blink her eyes at Hange, immobile. The only words she spoke were, "...I apologize if I sat on you."

Hange leaned along with Ougi, face flushed with exhilaration as they successfully cleared the obstacle. They weren’t half bad at this - after all, it wasn’t that different from maneuver gear, just with less - OOF. As the sled skidded to a sudden stop, they were jerked roughly forward, effectively getting the breath knocked out of them by Ougi’s elbow. Once they’d managed to stop wheezing silently, they grinned, giving her an enthusiastic nod. “Ah, absolutely no need to apologize! That was extremely enjoyable.” They took a breath, reveling in the adrenaline still rushing to their head, then looked up, seeing how far they’d come for the first time. “Ah, hm...how do we get back up, I wonder...”

(I fell asleep. @.@ ) This dragon ... was a bit of a wimp. At least when compared to the image Maladict had in his head. The vampire arched an eyebrow, but waited to see what else the dragon would say. For the most part, he had calmed down just a little. "Nice to meet you," repeated Maladict. "You ... are a dragon, correct? Can you breath fire?" And then he held up his hands again and said, "Don't show me if you can! Don't show me if you can!" He was not getting burned down when it was snowing outside. That would be beyond ironic. "I don't think you come from my world," he added slowly. (I did right after posting too pfft.) Mikhail's demeanor brightened at the question, and he did he best to proudly puff himself out. "Yup!" He hummed, the back of his mouth was already beginning to glow with orange light. "And of course! What kind of dragon can't? Even those low-class dragon wannabes, wyverns can! That's pretty much all then can do though..." That was the one of the few times anything resembling hatred, albeit still in a childlike manner, could be heard in the white dragon's voice. He let out a growl, then turned his head away as smoke started flowing from his maw. He heard Maladict in the background, but paid the vampire no heed. He didn't have to worry, Mikhail had learned his lesson about starting things nearby on fire back in the forest. The dragon set his aim on a small tree growing in the middle of the backyard, quite a ways off from the lodge, or anything else that'd catch fire as well. Fast as an arrow, a large ball of fire came flying from his mouth and hit the tree dead on. Even though it was covered in snow, the Dragonfire burned the poor thing like a torch. "Hehe, see?" Mikhail returned his attention to the other blinker. He would have had a beaming smile on his face had he been in human form. "Oh? What makes you say that?" (Computer decided to crash on me. Back now.) Maladict had been frozen stiff through Mikhail's whole attempt to set things on fire. He watched the tree burn with his lips pressed together. Mostly, this was out of worry. But truly, he was impressed. It was just the whole ... well ... he had been worried about the dragon for a bit now. "Nice," he said, nodding at the smoking husk of the tree. He tried to actually put some life in his voice, but it really didn't work. "Oh ..." He thought over how best to respond to Mikhail's question, then said, "Because most of the ones from my world are smaller." He leaned over, hand indicating something which would have reached about the height of his shins. "Head comes about here. And they look ..." The best word he could come up with was 'dopey'. But he settled for, "Unimpressive. They usually live in swamps. I've heard a few countries recognize them as pets, but I think they'd be crazy to do it. They can't breath fire ... they can just explode. The other type ..." He hesitated. "The other type look more like you. But they aren't supposed to exist."

Ougi nodded, and actually found a smile after Hange's comment. It was an expression she was working on, and subsequently getting better at. "We walk, I suggest," she told the other blinker, bursting out of the overwhelming snow and flinging it everywhere. She stood, taking the reins, and started walking effortlessly back up the hill while dragging the sled with Hange still on it. She seemed determined enough, and strong enough, and didn't seem to question the decision. When snow clung to her leggings and fell into her everyday-wear shoes, she only kicked her feet up higher and flung it off of her. "Ah, sledding is exactly what I thought it would be, I suppose," she informed the other blinker. "In my universe it is quite common as a leisure activity." She had started using the vocabulary 'universe', as she decided it fit better than 'world'. This is where her suspicions lay as far as where they actually were when they blinked into the Paradox House.

Rex stared at her as she exploded, lashing out at him. Blood running cold, he suddenly remembered her expression in the library when she had returned. She thought he hated her? "No- no Touka it wasn't like that," he said, taking a step forward as if he could comfort her, then hesitating away. "It was Vincent. He was pissed at me and he's the type to use people against each other so I didn't-"
He broke off, the words freezing in his throat. Admitting he cared about her out loud suddenly seemed impossible. He'd always just assumed she understood. Maybe not the full extent, but she had to have some idea-
He looked away. This was about what she was, something he was all too glad to jump to if it got him out of admitting feelings. He didn't know really what she was other than that she wasn't human, but that was hardly an anomaly. He assumed she sustained herself off of people, if he had read their conversation right, but why should that change anything? After all he knew about Myrnin, and that wasn't a problem. Myrnin had ways of getting around it so he wasn't hurting people. Why should Touka be any different? "About what happened back in the library, what you said- it doesn't change anything," he said quietly.

Touka stared at him as he leapt in with an explanation. The words felt very far away, like they were bouncing off her skull or she was hearing them from the other side of a very long tunnel. Words like it wasn’t like that, and it doesn’t change anything. Words that she’d long since numbed herself to, because everybody who’d ever told her that was either naive or a liar. This is what you get for walking the line between humans and ghouls, her thoughts said in her brother’s voice. They hate us. You hate them. She took a very deep breath, trying to cool the chaos erupting between her ears and under her ribs. Then, she looked down, almost regretful. Almost guilty. Her anger had evaporated as quickly as it had come, and in its place, resignation. “Of course it does,” she said quietly. “Look...you need to understand. I...the world I live in is wrong. Humans and ghouls kill each other every day...ghouls eat humans or starve, and humans kill ghouls or die. Investigators exterminate, ghouls fight back. On and on.” She paused for breath. “There’s no good in it. Am I a good person? I’ve killed people...investigators, in war, and humans, to survive. I don’t kill innocents, as a rule...I go after the worst of society - humans who prey on other humans one way or another, but in the end, I’m not a reaper or a judge. I’m a vigilante, at best, a murderer at worst. Who am I to decide who lives and who dies? So I’m not a good person, and neither are the humans who destroy our families and let our loved ones rot in their prisons.” She looked up at Rex, determination growing as she realized what was happening here. She was either going to lose him as a friend, or she was not. But after all they’d been through together...he deserved to know why he should hate her. “I can’t explain everything that has been at stake in my world since long before I was born. How much suffering has been endured by my kind and the humans who fall victim to us. The names of some of the people I’ve killed...or whether that was right or wrong. Whether or not they truly deserved to die. Whether or not I do.” Another pause. “So. If our time in this place has been based on false pretenses, I’m sorry. If we need to be enemies instead of friends - “ this time she said the word, friends, without hesitation - “- I understand. It might have always been inevitable, so...I don’t want you to feel any guilt about it, alright? I’m not worth that.”

There, she didn't kill innocents. She said it herself, she killed the worst people, that was her way around it. Rex didn't see anything wrong with that, and just as he opened his mouth to say so, she continued on. As she spoke, it slowly dawned on him that this ran far deeper than how she was simplifying it. It felt as though she had been struggling with this for awhile, especially here in the House since she had evidently gone to great lengths to hide what she was.
Clumsy. That was how he felt. He didn't have any answers or sense of what the correct thing to say was. After all, he killed people all the time. It was part of his job. He didn't have the luxury of wondering who they were or if they had families or why they were fighting in the first place, so he didn't. But he doubted Touka would appreciate that advice. Not with how she seemed to be viewing herself as a monster for doing it in the first place.
"It sounds like you're just doing the best you can with the shitty hand you were dealt," he finally said. "I've killed too many to judge you for killing to survive." It wasn't entirely fair, he thought distantly, how she felt so guilty killing to stay alive and he felt nothing killing for politics. He shook his head. "I'm not gonna try to pretend I know how you feel or what it's like trying to live in your world with that hanging over your head. It sounds like it sucks. But here?" he continued, finally finding and settling into the role of support he so often took with his men, "I'm not going anywhere. I trust you and your judgement. Your word is good enough for me."

Likewise, hehe )) Kelsier couldn’t help breathing a small, nearly unnoticeable sigh of relief as his hunch proved correct and Cham didn’t relieve him of his head. That was one thing he’d already realized about this place. Back home, he was hardly safe by anyone’s standards, but at least there he had a good idea of the kind of thing that might end him, and a very good idea of how they worked and how to avoid them. While here, he was at a distinct disadvantage because not only did he have no idea what anything’s weaknesses might be, he didn’t even know what was dangerous to begin with, Oh well. Since he didn’t seem likely to blink out and never blink back in, he supposed he had plenty of time to figure this place out as well as his own world, “Wildclaw.” The mistborn repeated, committing the term to memory as he leaned forward to examine the talons she had so kindly presented to him. “I’ve never heard of a dragon before, so I guess they don’t exist in my universe. Too bad.” He woud’ve likes the idea of meeting some without having to blink anywhere first, Chamomile seemed so cool. Ah well. He smiled up at her and waved towards himself. “I don’t know whether this would be obvious to you or not, but I’m called a human. That little girl, Arlo, said some worlds have magic. May I ask whether yours does?” (I'm definitely amused as to how they're both so confused.) Chamomile could only feel herself relax as Kelsier reacted well to her introduction despite her usually intimidating appearance to newbies and veteran blinkers alike. Many thought of her as a dangerous beast waiting for a chance to lunge at them though if they had seen her in her own world, she would merely be a dove that couldn't hurt a fly compared to the calloused thieves and cunning rouges. The mistborn truly had no reason to be frightened once knowing the gentle giant for who she truly was, not for what she was. "It was for the better...then." She murmured softly at the man's comment concerning the existence of dragons within his realm. It was dangerous thinking but the history of dragons cerning other species wasn't a pretty one. Absentmindedly of course it was only then did the mistborn wave at her did she move back to a more solidified tone tucking her leg back to being placed beneath her. " Yes, my own world has magic of its own for each dragon can only be born through magic, magic is based on the elements that make my world up. Though I have yet to meet anyone with more than one element like me - I know some humans may or may not have their own powers though do you have any powers yourself?" A risky move but worth it if she wanted to establish her openness to anyone in the house.

Touka closed her eyes, her own mind and memories doing the work of Rex’s projected words for her. You’re a monster. A murderer. A parasite. Why are you even alive? Things like you should be exterminated. But after a long second, she realized that that wasn’t what Rex was saying. He didn’t have his weapon to her throat, after all...he wasn’t even walking away, which was the best case scenario she’d allowed herself to picture. His words were...kind. Gentle. Accepting...even understanding, although she could tell from his hesitation he was struggling to understand the situation completely. Oh...right...he’d killed, too. Of course he had. He was a soldier. How had she forgotten that so quickly? I’m not going anywhere. She balled her hands into tight fists, her fingernails digging into her palms. He knew it all...and... It doesn’t matter what you do to justify it. You’re just a monster, said the voice in her head that sounded like a human. Your word is good enough for me, said Rex. She took a deep, shuddering breath, trying to confine the moisture gathering in her eyes back to where it belonged, and for the first time since the conversation had began, looked her friend in the eye. “I’m a dumbass,” she blurted, as several very emotional speeches about friendship squashed themselves in quick succession. “And I suck at feelings. They make me want to hit people. But...” She hesitated, feeling the pinprick of vulnerability once again. “...Anyone would be lucky to call you their friend. So if you really can look at me with something other than disgust, knowing what you know...well, maybe I’m the luckiest.”
“If this is a leisure activity in your world, I envy you,” said Hange, looking dubiously up the steep hill as Ougi began climbing. “Hobbies in my world are not nearly as exciting.” They paused, feeling slightly awkward as the smaller girl continued to pull them one step at a time. “I could help, you know,” they suggested. “My legs do still work, though judging from the speed you’re pulling me at, perhaps not as well as yours.”

These 'small dragons' sounded even less exciting then wyverns, which Mikhail didn't even think was possible. "Are you sure those are dragons? There's no way a real dragon would not be able to breath fire, or allow himself to be called a pe-..." He stopped talking before he finished that last word, before looking away awkwardly. "Umm, I-I mean a real dragon doesn't just explode! Er, Yeah!" Memories of constantly being called 'Zero's pet dragon' came flooding into his mind. So what if he used to haul her around all over on his back, and had always been at her beck and call. That didn't make him her pet! Probably... It didn't matter anyway. The times he spent with her were his most cherished memories regardless. It still had only been a few months since she left him, and the mental wound was still quite raw. Mikhail had started spacing out while Maladict was talking, but he still managed to catch the last part of what the vampire said. "What do you mean 'not supposed to exist'? Like ghosts? Oooh! Are they ghost dragons?" He perked up again in excitement at the thought, eyes locking onto Maladict in anticipation.

"You have no reason to envy me," Ougi murmured, but it might have been lost in the absorbent snow all around them. She lifted her legs high and continued pulling a while, not giving explanation for her comment. "That's all right," she informed them, "I'm glad to help." She made quick work of the steep incline that they had sledded, not looking back at Hange until they were nearer to the top. The student was not even out of breath, and her clothes were actually quite clean, as if they even repelled the snow and moisture. She clutched the rope in one hand, covered by a pink sleeve. "You have a hobby of fighting titans, do you not? That must be thrilling," she prompted.

Noah jumped slightly at the feeling of someone brushing against him, his eyes widening as his thin frame tensed. He took another (unneeded) deep breath once the presence of someone else registered. "That's okay," he murmured in response, offering what he hoped was a smile. He couldn't really be certain what he looked like, especially not in the House. Sheepishly, he rubbed at the smudge on his cheek. "I shouldn't have been in the way, sorry," he added, his words genuine. He tilted his head upon looking at the other person. He'd never seen him before, that was for certain. And he wasn't great around new people, but this guy didn't seem bad...

She was crying, he realized with a start. Instinctively he moved closer, though he hesitated to offer physical comfort, uncertain as to whether she would appreciate it or not. He hadn't expected his words to hit so hard. Had she really expected him to leave? Just like that? His chest tightened. She didn't deserve that. He could never just leave someone he cared about. The very idea was repulsive.
"Touka-" He broke off as she suddenly spoke. A huff of amusement void of any real humor left him at her declaration of sucking at feelings. They were the same in that regard. As she continued, his eyes began to burn, a warm feeling flickering through his heart. Shit. He didn't deserve praise for doing what any good friend would do. Blinking hard, he laughed. "Feelings suck," he agreed, his tone then turning more serious. "But the same goes for you," he said, realizing that she needed to hear it more than he did, "I'm glad the House let us meet."

Saaaame ))
Kelsier heard the muttered remark, but he wasn’t sure what she meant by it. Better for dragons? Perhaps humans had done something to her kind, fought them or hurt them somehow? Or was it the other way around? He wanted to ask her what she meant, but she’d already moved on to talking about magic, and he let it go for the moment in the interest of finding out more about her before he started asking questions that could make her mad. “You control the elements?” That was a new one. How could someone control the elements? He couldn’t even imagine how that would work, what kinds of options that have to be exploited, how deeply it had been investigated and tested.... “Yes.” He confirmed with a loose grin, deciding on the spot not to hide his abilities. Why bother? If someone wanted to fight him, he was confident that he could win. “Although I wouldn’t call it magic. I can ingest and burn metals at will, and those are what give me my powers.” And since that probably didn’t make much sense to someone not from his universe, the mistborn decided to elaborate and took one of his small vials of metal filings suspended in a clear liquid from his pocket. He held it up to the light, showing her. “See? I drink this, and then I can use the different metals for different abilities.” Maybe it was a dumb move on his part, giving away his weeknesses to a complete stranger in a new place, but it hadn’t occurred to Kelsier not to explain. All of his enemies already knew all this anyway, so why go to the trouble of hiding it? Besides, he hoped to make friends here if he could, not enemies. He was willing to risk something to that end.

Kelsier felt himself slipping into a more comfortable position as the dragon took his secrets and gave him her own in return. It was a risk to tell, he knew, but more of a risk not to if it ever came to a fight between them. This way, it was all cards on the table, and he definitely preferred that, even if it did weaken him. “Not right away, no.” The mistborn tilted the vial so that the metal caught the light and seemed to spark, then looked back up at the dragon, studying her eyes and expression in an attempt to see what she thought of all this. “As a rule, I burn away any extra metals before I go to bed, because it can poison me if it sits inside of me for too long, but it isn’t anything to worry about other than that.” Well, technically it was also unwise to burn metals for too long at a time, but he didn’t see any reason to give everything away right off the bat. He did have some sense of self-preservation. Besides, that might be hard to explain without a demonstration, and Kelsier didn’t like the idea of burning away his metals without a very good reason. “So your power is more innate? He continued, peering up at her eyes as she mentioned them. “It comes from you, rather than something outside of you that you have to utilize? I’ve never heard of anyone controlling the earth and the air before, but it sounds incredible. Does it tire you to use it?”

Winter Lodge // May May blinked into the lodge. Her eyes widened out of surprise for a split second as the large crystal in front of her was replaced with a different view. So, was this that place? She stood still for a minute, trying to remember the name. The something dimension? The paradox dimension. . .ah, the Paradox House. Now looking back on it, it almost seemed as if her last blink was yesterday. A couple of years had passed in her world. While that was a very short amount of time for her, the House had still been pushed to the back of her mind.

Touka sniffed at his words, then let out a shaky laugh, feeling the tension slowly begin to thaw out between them. She’d tried so hard to resign herself to losing him, she hadn’t realized how much she’d missed him. “Don’t you dare,” she said shaking her head as she wiped her eyes and, with start, spotted the tears behind Rex’s. “If you start crying too, I’m not gonna be able to stop, you inconsiderate jerk.” She reached out with a fist and bumped his shoulder, as close to a hug as she was gonna get. But the meaning behind it was just as clear.
Hange leaned back, still feeling awkward about being yanked up the steep slope by the small girl. Should they help...? But Ougi seemed to have the situation well in hand, so... But soon, the matter was resolved anyway, as they’d reached the top. As Ougi mentioned titans, they lit up, instantly ready to talk about their most prominent interest. “Ah, yes, it’s incredible,” they confirmed. “Titans are fascinating creatures - fighting them not only protects humanity, but it constantly teaches me more and more about them. For example - I recently learned that titans are able to obey other titans, especially if those titans are human-based. This would suggest a level of instinct previously never scientifically ascribed to them, so it’s an extremely interesting thread to pull on.” They could go on forever. Perhaps literally.

For two highly persecuted individuals it gave the mage some hope that something resembling a allian-friendship could work out. She wasn't unreasonable. While the man explained how his metal powers work in detail she still had an inkling of concern for him. He acted like he knew what he was talking about for the most part, pushing him towards actually presenting his powers would be asking too much. Its like they just met only a few minutes ago if minutes actually existed inside the house's walls. "Its the same things with dragons than, if we don't get rid of the mana build up it can affect the body and mind." Chamomile concluded solemnly from their shared pains. Even if they were far too different from each other perhaps they were more similar when it came to their magic potency. As the question arose of her powers she merely gave a sheepish grin. "Its as if my body can bend more types of elements than other dragons. Usually a dragon can only control one but having more power is unheard of until I came along. This power is unending, the land radiates this magic and I merely bend it to my will. Eventually this magic builds up inside me making it carry over to another world like the house, even my healing powers follow me here despite it being a neutral form of magic." She explained slowly as she glazed over the normally difficult topic all hatchling are given once they become sensitive to magic. "My body does not become strained from magic though I feel sore after I use it for long hours, yes. Your powers, though human, do you need to replenish it or will it always reside in you relying on your availability of metal alone?" She asked him all the while she lifted her head back up into the air.

Ougi performed the last few steps to a level stopping point, then swiveled her expressionless face toward Hange. She tossed the sled's rope aside and it cut through the snow on the ground, making a clear outline of itself. After her head turned, her body followed it, feet making two new holes to face the other blinker. "'Human-based'? Her interest was piqued. Especially with Hange spilling so much information on the titan plight, it was becoming a different universe's challenge she may actually be able to solve. An aberration. These were the terms she was constantly thinking in now. Of course, recently things that appeared to be aberrations were nothing more than interesting coincidences. Since chances of that in this situation were slim, she was even more excited. "Although you fight them, you have developed an interest in them, one might even say an affection. You have no reason to keep these titans around, correct? Personally, or otherwise." The wind grew stronger again now that they were at the top of the hill again, and it loosened her hair from its stuck-up state. Her sleeves were at her sides, flapping around while she squinted out of contemplation rather than cold.
