"Oh, afternoon is the best time I think. Thats about when things seem to slow down but also get crazy," he said, grinning vaguely. Archie glanced over as another fellow and gave a little nod, mumbling a "hey there" then turning his attention back on Enjolras. "Seems kind of dangerous to 'get used' to a place like this if you ask me, although I guess this room in particular is pretty uneventful... Mmmm yes, and then theres that," he chuckled. "If you write in these books, do you know if it stays? Or does it just get replaced? Do you know?" he inquired again, looking right at Steve.

Hook blinked in quickly after the trio, also sitting in the same seat he’d last blinked out in. Unlike the Frenchman, there had clearly been a larger passing of time in his world, as the pirate looked far more healthy and sober. He was quiet when he appeared, sitting up attentively as he listened to whatever conversation was occurring in his world. Given the change in scenery, he sat back in frustration and threw up his ankle onto his other knee; an eyebrow raised at the other blinkers.

Steve | mentions @archie Talks to @enj
Steve’s thoughts lingered back to the perilous drive towards the Byers household. As Archie greeted him he couldn’t help but to do a double take at the horn oortruding from his forehead. He did not enjoy the idea showing up bruised to hell and back, evidently made when the teen made no move to folding his arms in front of his chest like he normally does. One couldn’t help but to feel sore after the latest incident, “Uh, hey.” He tried to give the French man a curious wave of his hand in greeting. All it did in the end made him regret moving certain parts of his body. The last thing he ever wanted to end up as was the pirate who definitely had gone through enough brawls, the image of him being sent flying across the room made him uncomfortable. Despite his dying charisma, he noted how chatty the two of them were, despite being comparatively different from each other. “I’m Steve, by the way.” He tried, emphasis on tried, to give himself a name to be called by rather than “squishy”. “Didn’t know those books were more than decoration...”
little did he know that three plus one was a crowd.

Enjolras nodded politely at Archie's comment on time. At his next comment on the House Enjolras nodded more genuinely, saying "Yes, every time you get too comfortable here it throws in a wrench. I just blinked out of this tile room where completely random things appeared if you pressed them. Unfortunately, the House decided to light everything on fire, as it is wont to do. The Living Room is usually considered safe, though it changes every now and then. Sometimes it vaguely rearranges, but it's almost hard to notice. Like it's redirecting our attention. So I thought I'd purposefully check the books."
Enjolras looked over at Steve when Archie asked him, and took a step over so Steve was more in the conversation with them all. He saw Hook as well, but figured the pirate would join them if he wished to and, rather likely, he didn't wish to. "Hello. My name is Enjolras. I take it you've been to the House at least a couple times before?" He asked, seeing that Steve didn't seem super weirded out by blinking.
As for Archie's question, he added. "We've tried it, and as far as I'm aware, it hasn't stayed."

Asami | living room | @ anyone
Asami blinked into the House, looking more or less human this time except for one of her eyes, which was sort of wobbling around at random while the other stayed fixed in one spot. She didn't immediately move when she blinked, but eventually, she turned her head to look around, recognizing several humans from the room she'd been in a few days ago.
"Enjoooooooolras," she said out loud, recognizing the man, although his name was still difficult to pronounce. She unraveled her head, and a long eyestalk made its way over to the group of people, looking first at Steve, then at Archie, then back at Enjolras. The area immediately below the eyestalk formed into a mouth, as Asami's body continued to stand prone several feet away, content to interact with her tendrils as she had not been told to do otherwise.
"Hello," she offered, turning to watch each of their faces.

Archie gathered that Steve didn't seem to be very fond of him right off the bat, but still gave a little wave in return anyway. Others distaste never stopped his friendliness.... if thats what you could call it. "Fire does sound terribly exciting, although I'm sure most locals here probably wouldn't think so.... Rearranges? Sounds like a prank- has anyone stubbed their toe recently? Oh I bet I just jinxed it... I wonder who the next poor victim will be," he rambled, straightening his back, which was to Hook at the moment so he hadn't properly acknowledged him yet. "I'm Archie, but I'm not really picky with nicknames," he said to Steve, glancing back to nod briefly at Enjolras's answer. "Good to know.. Guess I won't be leaving any love letters in here then. Shame...."
"Oh, hi there. You seem to have something in your eye," he said to Asami, watching her curiously and grinning.

"Auh-" Enjolras started as he heard his name drawled out in a voice rather unfamiliar with it. It was so surprise when he looked over and saw Asami. He then choked back a startled yelp as her head unraveled. Ok, yes, he'd seen that in the tile room but everything had been on fire and he assumed it was part of the room. (He had been very glad he didn't step on that tile.)
Archie, however, seemed none too shocked by it. Well, he was purple with horns. Maybe that was normal in his world. It was not normal in Enjolras's world. "Archie, Steve, nice to meet you." He said, though his tone was slightly off as he threw another glance at Asami. Yep. That was weird. The blinked seemed harmless enough, though, and had been quite polite.

Hook continued to lurk, his gaze flicking back and forth from blinker to blinker. There was an odd assortment going on in the living room at the moment, the strangest being two strangers. His eyes narrowed skeptically on Asami, then Archie, then passed over Enjolras and Steve to gauge their reactions. He considering asserting himself for a moment, though held back for a while longer to allow things to play out with the oddities.

Steve | @archie @enj @asami mentions @hook
Steve observed Archie and Enjolras discuss the books which in his heart held no place of importance. “You could say I’m a regular,” He shrugged. “I haven’t stuck around long enough to really get anyone’s names” The teen was never a bookworm to begin with and he’d always struggle trying to read the classics. He was partially glad the strangers had their stuff together especially when another odd face blinked into the now crowded living room. At most it would be small trio’s except the last time it had been nearly a dozen stuck in one flashy room.
Now he faced the living incarnate of the fresh meat section, slurring the name of Goldie locks over there. Perhaps one of Asami’s eyes caught him off guard before shifting his gaze back to the other two, in a way not even looking at the swash buckler occupying the other portion of the room, goosebumps formed on his skin. he was wordless for the first time in a long time. It wasn’t like he could scream, shout, or anything that would yell out he was a newbie, his throat had become sore from his past blinks. To the lovely captain, all he could do was steal a glance, a quick glare that should keep him at bay from screwing things up as usual.

Asami | Living room | @ anyone
"Arrruchie," repeated Asami, stumbling again over the word that didn't fit in her native tongue very well. "Steeeeeeeve." Her eyestalk moved again from one face to another, and then it stopped on Archie, her whole form freezing in place as she pondered his words, and, for that matter, his appearance. If you could do a double take when you were just an eye, that was what she had done.
"You are an irregularity," she said, her eye moving closer to him and moving about to examine his horns. "Your coloration and cranial growths are abnormal for a human. Explain."

Hook tilted his head, watching Asami interact with everyone curiously. His good hand rested at his side, fingers tapping against the hilt of his sword as he watched. He was quickly distracted when Steve became vocal, raising his eyebrows in surprise at the incredibly bold claim of being a ‘regular’. He considered briefly that time had passed differently for the teen, but tossed the idea out quickly based on his skittish reactions to Asami. He poorly masked a smirk, cocking an unimpressed eyebrow at the kid when his eyes nervously passed his way.

Archie chuckled as she tried to pronounce his name and mostly succedded. "Theres less of an 'uh' sound, skip straight to the 'ch' from the 'rrr'," he offered, watching with fascination as she moved about. To further drive home his casual demeanor, he slipped his hands into the pockets of his coat and leaned back on his heels, raising his eyebrows as some odd part of her moved nearer. "I'm not a human, madam," he began cheerily, "I am of no species in particular, though most have deemed me a god. The appearance you see before you is a sort of persona that I've taken a liking to; an avatar if you will. You certainly don't appear to be human either... perhaps an intriguing evolution? Very lovely, I should say," he added. It'd been a while since he'd seen something so blatantly beyond the norm; small alterations to the humanoid form were standard, but this? This was bizarre and he was all over it.

Asami | Living room | Shadepelt15 mostly |"Aruchie," she mimicked, attempting to follow his instructions to the best of her ability given that the sound wasn't quite translating right. Her intent interest in him only grew as he explained himself further, and her single eye seemed to almost widen in surprise as she looked him straight in the face. "Not human," she repeated, the word connecting to a definition in her mind. "Ah. We are the same," she decided, her tone taking on an almost cheerful lilt at the discovery of a kindred spirit. "My kind also has no name, aside from the one given to us by humans. 'Parasite'. 'God'. I have observed that humans do not like to leave things with no name."

Steve | the very polite tph gang Steve blinked his eyes, all the while Asami’s body parts inspected him like bruised fruit. I’m not ending up as freak food. Unlike his last encounter this felt more personal, and because it wasn’t like in the movies where if he and the rest of the adults remained very still the parasite would not be able to see them. It’s not like that was on option available to them as that Archie fellow took initiative buttering up the stranger. He remained stiff as a board, the line of his lips flat and his mouth dry and it became apparent Enjolras was the only one with a brain in the entire house. Thinking of an escape route, he began to hold back the urge to grab the Frenchman by the hand and run. If he could not yet figure out an exit to the house he’d die trying, if it meant he would never ever be less than an inch apart from a flimsy eyes talk for the rest of his life.

"Oh, tell me about it. Humans are so picky, aren't they? The frustration just never ends," he agreed, deciding not to worry too much about correcting her on his name any further. His attention was now very much on her interest in his existence in correlation to her own. "Although, I do try to keep my distance from humans... Most aren't very fond of me simply because they think I cause trouble. But enough about that; do you have a name? I would certainly hope that no human would be so crudely bold as to take that from you. Names are very personal, you know."

Hook sighed softly, removing his hand from his sword. He was still untrusting of the likely carnivorous creature, though she seemed to be interacting with the others pleasantly enough. Staying quiet, he hoisted himself out of his comfortable position on the coach and sauntered over, certain to approach from behind Steve and slap a hand on the teen’s shoulder - hoping to get a scare out of the tense lad. Despite involving himself mostly for the sake of jolting a guiltless teenager, the pirate figured he should engage in conversation as well. “Hook,” he introduced flatly, “introductions happened...no one bothered to ask.”

Asami | Living room | Shadepelt15 |"I do not find it to be frustrating," said Asami factually, but before she could think of how to expand on that, he had moved on, turning the line of questioning to herself. "I was not created with a name, however, my humans gave me the name Tachibana Asami. I have no attachment to it, but they said it was important for me to have one, so Asami is what I am called." She tilted her head....no, eye-tendril-mouth...thing, slightly to the side, addressing his apparently rather strong views with an equally strong curiosity. "Personal. Of affecting, or belonging to, one person as opposed to anyone else. Names do not fit this definition, as there are many duplicates."

"In that sense yes, you're absolutely right. Personal is more along the lines of... What you do with the name, what you bring to it and how people know you, or if you feel close with it. But I suppose, having no attachment to such a thing its understandable you wouldn't be terribly bothered with all that, and its true some aren't. I quite like my name, very fond of it, yes yes... I'm very curious though; what do you mean by 'your humans'? Do you have companions of some sort?" He leaned a bit closer, coming off his heels and onto the balls of his feet with wide, interested eyes. But alas, as he opened his mouth to question her further he blinked out.

Steve | @enj @asami
Steve held his breath as the stream of attention was directed to the horned man. Never had he been grateful not being the center of attention, many of his peers looked up at him which he liked not because he was tall but for the reason of being well liked. Agreeable, yet, here he was doing the exact opposite of that watching in horro as their last hope blink out of existence. Maybe he and Enjolras were not cut out for the house’s universal scare zone. Humans like them were not that uncommon but at rate you either found a few spare good one’s or slime balls like the one sitting behind the living room’s couch.
“Yeah, so about that human form?” He stated, a hint of forced confidence he’d meant to save for someone that needed to hear it back home. At best, Nancy should hear it from him rather than having it spread through the grape vine. Whether or not Asami was still unhinged, he had to go back in one piece to do what had to be done on his par- “Hey, I didn’t see you there.” His voice was a tad frazzled as the pirated clapped him on the back. Steve forced a faux smile in greeting albeit pale faced, not exactly keen towards touchy interactions of the sort. Not after today, if he would ever live to see the end of it.

Hook rolled his eyes at Steve’s reaction, pushing off him a bit as he moved his hand away. He lifted his chin at Asami while Enjolras spoke, choosing to ignore the fact he’d been glazed over by the others. He hadn’t really wanted to be apart of the conversation anyways, but now he could listen in more conveniently. The lanky discolored bastard had blinked out relatively quick, he noticed, which meant he only had one weirdo to keep an eye on at least.

Asami | Living room | Cloverleaf mostly |"Yes. My humans are - " She stopped talking as Archie disappeared, and her eye moved about for a moment, looking behind and underneath the couch to try and figure out where he had gone. "Aruchie?" she said, her tone one of quizzical confusion. "Aruchie?" As Enj spoke again, her eyestalk turned, distracted from her search. "That is correct," she told him, and as she did, her tendrils began to shrink and retract, folding themselves down until they settled neatly into the form of a somewhat gaunt human face with long black hair and dark eyes. "I am not human, but I am capable of appearing to be one. As I understand it, humans are also capable of a limited sort of transformation." As she spoke, her hair cycled briefly from black, to blonde, and then back to black again, to illustrate what she was saying.

Asami | Living room | Cloverleaf |"Blinked out," repeated Asami, matching that word to an existing definition in her head. Do they wish to disguise themselves from other humans?"

Asami | Living room | Cloverleaf |"I am from Earth," confirmed Asami. "However, I am four months old. Your observation is accurate - I am still unfamiliar with many facets of humanity, as you are complicated creatures." She thought about his next statement, her left eye moving to follow Enj's gaze to the hallway. "Ah, I understand," she said, jumping back to his last statement as it finished processing in her mind. "For weather. Humans can tolerate only a narrow range of temperatures. For fashion. Meaning an interest in one's own appearance. For disguise. To change one's form to avoid detection. This is the reason I am most familiar with."

Hook listened in silence, his expression unchanging as he took note of Asami’s words. His eyes flicked to Enjolras a few times, only to remember that the man wouldn’t be picking up on the same cues as him. She was clearly some form of changeling, just one lacking the charm of the fae. She’d said something about humans calling her a parasite - which seemed fitting given the limited context she’d given. His eyebrow cocked slightly, watching Steve reappear next to him. “I don’t need some mimic explaining how my species works to me, I’m doing a room. Stick with the freak if you two prefer,” he said the final bit over his shoulder, already turning heel towards the hall.
