"The absolute - " Maladict was hissing under his breath as he blinked in, practically knee deep in snow and cursing. This did not seem to be because of the snow, however, even though as soon as the vampire appeared it was obvious that this had surprised him. "What?" he practically spluttered. "Where are we?" He saw Hector and blinked. Even the vampire was in slightly warmer clothing than the second (or possibly fourth) hand uniform he'd previously been wearing and then there was the fact there was a large green tube-sled near his half buried legs. "Why is it Winter?" he asked.

Shade was thoroughly taken aback by the statement, her jaw dropping enough to let her mouth hang open in shock. She made no comment though, and simply smiled. It was flattering to be on the receiving end of that statement, after all it usually preceded their most epic adventures together, usually with Hook in the lead. But this time, she was fine to take charge and give him a rest. Since he seemed to be implying that, of course. Her ears snapped up sharply when she heard shouting, vaguely recognizing... Myrnins voice? Maybe, it was hard to tell from here. She was pretty sure it was him though. Very nearly she darted out, but stopped upon Hooks voice breaking through that instinct and stopped to consider, staring at him for a long moment, then at the front room. If things were happening... It would be best not to get involved. And Hook was so wonderful in his patience with people- she didn't want to give anyone a reason to ruin his good streak for him. Plus, if Myrnin was there, she trusted he would handle the situation appropriately. "I think it most assuredly is," she murmured back, then turned, jerked her head towards the hallway and started off at a silent jog. At times like these she thanked the stars for her less human traits, finding they made stealth overall much easier and effective, as well as general movement. Shade looked over her shoulder now and then and made sure he was following, smiled slightly, and continued until they had wound quite far down the hallways, where she stopped. "Think trouble will follow us this far?" she asked, laughing softly. Hook grinned as he caught a glimpse of her surprised reaction, chuckling to himself as she proceeded with a smile. He seemed to be just as excited by the swapped rules as she was, enjoying her enthusiasm just as much as he would’ve if they were off to discuss his world. The pirate waited, expectantly watching her face as she spun around to see the scene unfolding behind them. His eyebrows raised slightly as he noticed her weight fall back on her heels; the urge that had pushed her in the direction of the action seeming to ebb away as she considered his words. He glanced towards her face again as she spoke, squinting slightly with a skeptical smirk as he realized she was agreeing with him. He almost protested, speculating that it would bother her if things weren’t properly settled, but she suddenly turned and stared down the hallways before he could. He spun around, confused, then grinned as he realized he’d need to pick up the pace if he planned on keeping up with her. He jogged after her, glancing behind them with a snicker when they came to a stop. The main room of the lodge was out of sight now, and he looked back at her with a grin. “Typically, though we probably have a while before it does,” he nodded towards the satchel, raising his eyebrows to prompt her to open it for him.

Hector raised an eyebrow at the sudden influx of cursing added to the sound of the wind blowing through the pines in the distance. He recognized Maladict, and, recognizing him from that bubble room, offered him a friendly smile. "Hello again. Looks like some sort of room." "Up in the mountains somewhere? This is so much more snow than I've ever seen in my life." Hector commented, lifting a booted foot and setting it down on a fresh patch of snow, sinking in again up to his knees.

Maladict had to calm himself to try and not talk Hector's ear off about the rotten Corporal Strappi who had stolen something from him and would likely cost Maladict his sanity ... slowly. It wasn't much use to mention the bodies either. He was generally just having a rotten day. And then there was snow. That didn't really mean anything other than more annoyance. Slogging through ice was not Mal's idea of fun (if fun had, you know, been allowed at all in Borogravia). "Yeah," he agreed, glancing around. "I've seen more. It's sometimes up to my chest, particularly if you go further toward Uberwald." The vampire nodded down at the ... tube ... by his feet made of some sort of material that he would never begin to place. "What's this? You have a disk as well." He glanced down the slop, noting the incline. It was a bit too far to the distant house. And it would be too hard to walk that far either. "If it's a room ... what do you suppose the point is?"

Hector raised an eyebrow at Maladict's description of such amounts of snow. He'd only ever seen dustings of snow before in his own world. Hector looked down at the sled. The round disk was like a shield in his own world, though much flimsier. There was no apparent purpose to it. "We may have to get to the building from here- though it does look very far."
"It'll be a bit of a break from our own worlds, though, eh?" He added, his tone trailing slightly in curiosity. "It sounded like it wasn't going exactly peachy."

"You can say that again," Mal muttered with deep venom in his voice. "Doesn't matter. I just want to kill someone and burn the f-" He gritted his teeth (perhaps they had gotten a bit longer?) together and started breathing slowly. One hand went to fiddle with a small black ribbon that was pinned to the collar of the turtleneck he was wearing thanks to the House. It seemed to be a way to offer himself comfort. "But I am fine," he said. "Fine. Perfectly fine." It didn't sound like the truth. But Mal needed a distraction. "Yeah. The building does look far." He would probably have been able to get there pretty fine, but generally he wasn't very willing to do so. It was snowy, and it would have meant leaving Hector. He doubted Hector would appreciate that. "Do we just start walking down or something?" he questioned instead. He nudged the tube sled with one foot, which was a bit difficult since he had to scrape a trench in the snow to do it. The sled slid a couple of feet down the bank before getting stuck on another snowbank. "I think these might be ..." said Mal, trying to think about it. "Sleds? I think they may be used in Uberwald." Not that he was that familiar with what happened in Uberwald, he'd never been. Ideas and words got around anyway.

Samuel | Lodge | Most anyone The future? Samuel was hardly able to wrap his head around it. Part of him was aware that Zange had been talking not only to the other blinkers - breaking off to predict one thing or another - but that she had also said something very ... bad about the future of all of them. He'd heard Arlo just fine when she'd explained who Zange was. It lent more creditably to what Zange had said if there was another blinker who also knew what had happened. That made it all a bit more worse. He took a step forward, toward Sherlock and Ougi, and said in a halting voice, "But ... look ... if she is from the future and it's a warning or something ... then doesn't that mean we should be working it out? Not getting offended by not believing it's addressing us?" He looked nervous, but Zange hadn't actually talked to him. "Just ... someone died. Isn't that something to be a bit more distressed about that whatever problems might be in you." Here he pointed at Ougi and Sherlock at the same time. "Why can't we just try and help her last wishes or something?" He almost wanted to cry. Had he ever seen death before? His father had died, in a crash, but this was different. This was in front of him. And the adults seemed to be acting so stupid about it!

Apparently Hector had struck a nerve. Oops. And Maladict seemed quick to push the unpleasant memory to the back of his mind, and Hector was more than happy to let him. If this was anything like their last room, the House would soon give them enough to worry about here. He made a mental note, however, to check in with the solider later. They'd only met a couple of times but Hector was already starting to become concerned for his well-being.
"Sleds? How do you mean?" Hector asked for clarification, ignoring the part about Uberwald. Some place in Maladict's world, not of much importance to him. He dropped his own sled on the ground and watched it slide along for a few feet before slowing to a stop against a snowbank. "We have no pack animals to pull them."

Vincent | Living Room | NumquamVincent let the several seconds of quiet pass with ease, silently occupying himself with memories of Julius’ character. He had yet to figure out what made the viper tick, or what his deal with men was, but he was slowly piecing together the best route to unlocking such things. He remained expressionless as Julius spoke, though his eyebrow quirked up slightly as to call attention to the fact that the other man had initiated. He knew that whoever started the conversation probably wasn’t a thing of importance, though he wondered how Julius react if he put it in his head that it was. He considered the question momentarily, as if he’d been caught off guard that the snake was curious about his world, then answered slowly. “Should you wish to call it that…” he agreed slowly. He then lifted his chin, offering a smile. “Though, in regards of providing a similar buzz, perhaps it be inaccurate to suggest I speak from experience.” He has made it clear he’d never handled a cigarette before, though he seemed adamant to clarify this again before he proceeded. Or perhaps he was suggesting that he wouldn’t decline if he were offered one. He figured Julius would interpret things how he liked to.

Maladict | Sledding by the Lodge up on this random mountain "You just sort of ... ride on them. Or something," said Maladict without much conviction. He wasn't very sure, do be honest. Half of it almost sounded like a question directed at Hector, as if he would have something more to add to it that the vampire did not. "I do not believe they need them?" Maladict questioned, crouching down to study the sled that Hector had. It seemed not as odd as his own. His seemed to have a circle in its center. That seemed impractical. He was also worried about the material. It seemed like it could break easily. "Look," he said, holding up the bit of string attached to the end of the sled. "I do not believe horses would be able to be small enough for this. Perhaps a small dog?" It seemed very unlikely. "Anyway ... why would you do that? It isn't enough space to carry anything. I believe it needs a downward slope. That's ... rather obvious if viewing the hill now, I suppose." The vampire almost scowled at it, though he wasn't really sure why he should consider this room an issue. It wasn't like he cared about 'rules'. They practically outlawed him - they certainly outlawed what he was currently doing back in his own world. "Why would you slide on them, however?" he questioned instead.

"So they're really quite useless to go over the hills back to the lodge without any pack animals, but they'll at least get us down them." Hector pointed out, understanding what Maladict meant now. Meant for riding the hills down, which wasn't exactly useful for anything practical. On the other hand... it could be a lot of fun. "Looks exciting, no?" Hector asked, a glint in his eye as he understood the concept. The House could make fun rooms just as well as dangerous ones, could it not? It was worth a try.

Maladict | The idiot using a sled to skateboard down the hill by the Lodge | {{{Mint Be Here}}} Exciting. How did you do exciting? Maladict remembered, if he was perfectly honest. It was impossible to keep the smile - even after what had been happening in his own world - off his face. "Alright ..." he said slowly, finding it difficult to admit because it was letting his guard down. "It would probably be a lot of fun." He looked at the weird materialed tube with just a margin of skepticism. "You seem to have a complete sled, of sorts. Mine seems to be missing a piece." He took a step forward, looking it over. It seemed very unlikely to be safe to sit down in it. Instead, he poked it with a toe again. It seemed fairly logical that he should be able to stand on it, right? He took a step onto the semi-buoyant rubber which sunk enough under his feet to be slightly steady. He swiftly took a step onto the other side as the sled decided it wanted to slide. It was slightly difficult to stay on, if the vampire was honest, but at least for the time be - "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa," he decided on instead, coasting down the hill while balancing, at what was a much swifter speed than he thought it would be. The yell wasn't fear. It was almost a whoop of jubilation.

"The hill's steep enough that we'll probably get going pretty fast." Hector commented, his eyes bright. The man clearly had a fondness for such things. A childhood of riding horses at breakneck speeds that would have given anyone trying to keep him alive a heart attack had given him the taste for it. He retrieved the sled from the snowbank it had been deposited at.
"You can still sit on it-" Hector stopped as Maladict literally stepped on top of the sled and prepared to ride it down. This was going to end badly. As Maladict whooped Hector laughed and gripped the sled in front of him, getting a running start before jumping onto the sled. The sled whooshed against the snow as he started going down the hill, quickly picking up speed. He let out a whoop as well. And so far, no one had crashed yet!

Spinel had gone outside at this point, listening with mild interest. She was confused on how Zange knew her name at the least- why would she know the gem if the latter didn't know her? It didn't make much sense, at least not to her. Any curiosity and intrigue fell a few moments later before Zange herself did as she said about a friend leaving. She froze slightly at that, her expression going almost completely blank. It began to tinge with worry almost a moment later, however. Wait- waiiit- was she talking to her there? The best friend gem only really had one... best friend. Pink. Was Pink okay? Had she been hurt since she saw her last? Shattered? Was her Diamond- her friend- okay? Almost as soon as she began to worry, however, she was able to counterattack it. Pink was a Diamond, just as important as all the others. Why wouldn't she be able to defend herself? And she had a court, who would be happy to do the same. There was no reason to worry, Pink would be just fine. Still, it didn't stop Pink's playmate from dropping to the ground a moment later, pulling her knees up to her chest and wrapping her arms around herself a few times. She hugged herself and looked around, a surprisingly sulky and worried expression evident on her face as she tried to regain her bearings.

Spinel watched as the fake Primarch pushed by, her expression a mess of confusion, hurt, and a general consensus of being overwhelmed. She watched as he went over to Sandalphon, and then lifted him up and- her eyes widened at what came next, positively staring. "Hey! No!" She yelped slightly but didn't do anything, feeling helpless. The best friend kept watching as the fake threw him across the room, and tried out the wings. She clenched her fists slightly, stamping a foot on the ground similar to an angry child. "Stoppp!" She yelled, her voice containing an incessant whine. "You hurt him, and those were his wings, 'cause he told me and-" The best friend gem grabbed one pair, stretching out her arms and clinging to them. "Give them back!" False Spinel had been quiet the whole time, watching the scene with quiet indignance. This new development, however, was enough for her to snicker slightly, a smirk back on her face. "Wowee- this is gettin' peachy, ain't it? Say, maybe can you knock some sense into that noodle?" She shrugged, inflating a fist slightly. "Or I can. Up to you." HᥲꙆƒꙆɩɠᖾt

Maladict | Hills are for people without skateboard sleds | {{Mint waz here}}
This was, for all intense and purposes, the most fun that Maladict had had for a very long time. Perhaps his whole life. There was something about the mental ability it took to stay on as well as the breakneck speed with which he was traveling which he had not had in the life he had led at home. Then came Hector, coming at full speed - faster really - and screaming with just as much excitement. Maladict looked over his shoulder at the other blinker and how quickly he was catching up, while still attempting to keep his balance in a substance which he had never tried to run in, much less slide down. "Oh yeah!" he challenged over his shoulder, aware that Hector's lower position would have him speeding past any second now. Instead, he shifted his posture and ended up sliding over an incline that sent him into the air and then landing hard - but still balanced and moving - on the other side. It gave him a bit more of a lead, but not much. Maladict wasn't sure what else he was supposed to do to stay ahead, but he was darn well going to make the trip interesting. He tilted ever so slightly, nearly tipping over in the process, but still getting directly, and he meant directly, in front of Hector. Hector was in danger of slamming into the back of the vampire if he didn't curve away.

"Ha! Try to catch up!" Hector challenged, shaking his head as snow flew into his face, flakes sticking in his beard. Though, he was quite impressed with the vampire's balance. He gripped the sides of the sled tightly as he sped towards an unavoidable bump. He sailed over it, landing on his stomach with a grunt and continued down the hill. As Maladict crossed in front of him Hector dragged a foot in the snow, trying to make a rudder to steer himself away from the other sledder.
"Watch where you're going!" He barked. But it was too late. Hector was going faster and he hadn't figured out a reliable way of steering yet. He crashed into Maladict's tube, which, luckily for Hector, was quite soft. Unluckily for Maladict, the impact had probably messed with his impeccable balance.

Maladict | Eat Snow - on a hill by the Lodge | {{This Be Minty}} It had. But Maladict had no issue at all with falling. The tube continued sliding down hill, but was knocked to the side thanks to the impact, it's decent slowing as it traveled. Maladict, however, went sprawling, rolling in the snow, head over heals. He did not mind a single bit taking down Hector either. His fall had been in the same line as the other blinkers and Hector's sled was pushed out from under him by a wayward (or maybe intentional) boot. The snow was soft, powdery, and didn't make for a hard landing. Hector would likely be alright, but freezing and as covered in white flakes as Maladict was. He half laughed and then choked when snow ended up in his mouth. His trajectory ended and he slowly sat up, covered in snow. The turtleneck was covered in frozen patches of snow and little specks of ice. "Are you alright?" he called to Hector as he sat up.

Myrnin | Ice Sculpture Room | NumquamBlinking in, the vampire was hissing in frustration. His hands were in his pockets, his shoulders hunched. He seemed to be getting steadily more annoyed each time he blinked in and this was no exception. This time, he was spinning in a circle, snapping, "This wasn't meant to be a holiday. This was meant to have a purpose. A reason. They can see through his eyes. Finding some source of the probl-" But he stopped when the person he was talking to disappeared, his breath pooling in a cloud in front of him. It disappeared on the next breath, but it was clear he'd blinked in from a less frozen place. There was ice and snow all over place, but not just as a frosted landscape of hills and the occasional tree. It was literally a forest and field of snow and snow and ice sculptures. They were scattered around Myrnin, from mini-leopards to wolves to horses to squirrels and birds.

As Maladict crashed into the snow, Hector gripped tightly onto the sled, ducking away to avoid any stray flailing limbs. His sled, however, was not so lucky and got kicked off course. He flipped over with the momentum, losing the sled. It skittered away down the hill, much slower now that it had less momentum. Hector still had all of his momentum and continued to roll down the hill in a spectacular wipe-out. He yelped, flailing out his arms to try to get some purchase on the snowy slope. As the man rolled to a stop he sat up, absolutely covered in snow. He shook out his hair, wiping snow out of his eyes and puffing to clear his nose and mouth.
"I can't believe you did that!" Hector said, half talking about the crazy stunts Maladict had pulled and half accusatory at the way he'd knocked Hector's sled away. He shivered as snow melted and dripped down his neck. He reached out, subtly picking up a handful of snow. What he was going to do with it was absolutely anybody's guess... Nope. He was going to throw it.

Maladict | Undeath by Snow on a Hill near the Lodge | {{ Mint RPing}} The graceful falling and tumbling man that was Hector was visible somewhere not to far down the slope, but seemed affronted by the way that Hector was accusing him. Not without a bit of amusement, of course. "Oh? I just wanted a fair fight. You know ... you standing too," said Maladict with a curl of his lip that was totally not a smile. The clear threat Hector had in his actions as he picked of a handful of snow had Maladict sitting up straight and paying far more attention. The vampire just narrowed his eyes at Hector with a bit of sparkle in them. "Hum," he muttered. His hands moved, a wad of snow being pressed together. He didn't hesitate. He tossed it at Hector's perfect hair (or it had been anyway) and felt no shame. Mal was still a perfect target where he was sitting, but he wasn't going down without a fight.

The only other person he'd give them to was the pup, but that fell apart quickly once his sister found out. Staying quiet after a few moments, he didn't have anything else to say to the human. Standing around seemed boring, so he casually walked over to the hall without another word. He placed his hands in his pockets as he entered the hallway. Vincent looked sideways as Julius fell into silence again, breathing out through his noise with a subtle sigh. While he was willing to be patient with the viper, the other man’s comfort with awkward silence made him a worthy opponent when it came to the task of breaking his spirit. Should he be the type to easily walk away from his objective, he would’ve already decided it was best to leave the snake to his lonesome. However, he was a man of resilience, and therefor could relentlessly provide either silence or noise however it seemed necessary - particularly when his company would rather him not. In the instance of Julius, he just had to tread lightly and with persistence. He raised his eyebrows as the man suddenly turned and headed for the hallway, analyzing his body language. He hadn’t seemed hostile when he walked off, nor even peeved beyond reasonable means. If anything, the other man had been handling the conversation thus far with boredom more so than patience. That was actually a good thing. Should the man be suspicious of him, it was simply a sign of average perception; but should he peek the viper’s radar as anything worth his interest, he’d be backtracking in his progress. He didn’t seem to mind that he was putting a great deal of thought more into the interaction than Julius was, as this was a normality for someone who spoke in his practice. If he play the right role long enough, perhaps he’d get what he wanted. He waited several seconds before heading after him, walking quickly enough to fall close behind him but slowing before he could join him at his side. “Are you informed on the politics of your time?” He asked, studying his attire once more as he spoke.

"You could have ridden down like a reasonable person as well." Hector pointed out. He was cut off as Maladict's hands went to the snow as well. The war was on. He ducked away, though Maladict's sudden throw caught him anyways. He retaliated immediately, whipping his snowball at Maladict. He shook the snow out of his hair, stood, and dashed for his circular sled, intending to use it as a snowball shield. He picked it up as well as another handful of snow, which he tossed at Maladict.

This was war - the fun kind, the kind he wished Borogravia would settle their issues with. "It has a hole in the middle! How is that safe? I would like my body in one piece when I reached the bottom of the hill!" The snowball was tossed mid-sentence as a distraction. He was grinning. Talking and tossing snow was a bit difficult when it came to multitasking but that meant that the snowball Hector was tossing around had so far connected every single time. Maladict finally dragged himself out of the snow and started to move, shuffling a bit down the hill and tossing the snow behind him as he went. "Come on!" he called. "You can aim better than that." He dragged his hand through the snow as he went, tossing a bit of loose flakes at Hector.

Hector ducked away from the snowflakes that whooshed towards him. It was definitely starting to get chilly. Running around kept him warm enough, but his hands were quite cold. He darted away from Maladict, hopping over a drifted snowbank and ducking behind it. He started making multiple snowballs while he had a moment where he wasn't under fire- though he probably only had a few moments before Maladict reached him. He scooped one up and peered over the snowbank, aiming squarely at Maladict.

Not something graceful, like a dancer, but a full on swan dive that was fully intent on being faster that Hector's snowball and to get as close as possible as quickly as possible. The vampire tumbled head over heal to the left of Hector, tumbling and then coming up sitting where he aimed his remaining (loosely packed) snowball at Hector's chest. "Surrender!" said Maladict, grinning with his slightly pointed teeth exposed. "And I will be merciful. No more snow." Both of his hands at once went to the snow at his side, scraping together snow into both of his fists and raised them while he let his eyebrows rise. "Give up." He didn't seem cold, but he was wet by this point. That was a bit uncomfortable. But Maladict really thought one of them would have to give up soon.

Shade grinned, vaguely despondent, then offered a shrug. "Well, I'll take what I can get," she said, the grin turning genuine as she did so. When he nodded to her satchel she pursed her lips, looking around then drifting over to a couch and settling down onto it. She patted the cushion next to her, then pulled the satchel off her shoulders and flicked it open while she waited for him. "Its surely not as impressive as you think it is," she forewarned him as she pulled out a leather scrapbook, dressed to look all pretty and bubbling. Complete with stickers and glitter. Realizing she hadn't put her personal cover on it, she blushed hard and cleared her throat into her fist. "Its to throw anybody who might snoop off... Who'd look for a murder-list in a scrapbook, right?" she said quickly, trying to justify herself ahead of time. "Anyways- I-its just a ploy, I have the actual protective cover at home." This seemed to be mostly for herself, but even so her blush didn't seem motivated to fade. Pulling the book into her lap, she looked through a selection of colorful bookmarks then opened it at the purple and pink stripped one. Here was the beginning of profiles; photographs of the person(s) she was bring brought in to target. Sometimes there were pairs, or multiple pictures to portray other appearances the persons might carry. Alongside the photographs were dozens of notes, descriptions, warnings, and other details regarding the assignment. At the top of all of these was a but "PENDING" stamped in red. It could be assumed this was because she hadn't accepted the task yet. After leaving the book open a moment, she glanced over at Hook through the corner of her eye, waiting to see his reaction. Wildly enough, she found she was holding her breath.

Myrnin | Ice Sculpture Room | Numquam Blinking in, the vampire was hissing in frustration. They were scattered around Myrnin, from mini-leopards to wolves to horses to squirrels and birds. mintedstar/fur"When she said it would take from a few months to a few years, I was hoping it would be the few mont-" Eises tripped over a rock hidden under some snow just as she blinked in. She fell face first with her arms outstretched; the snow made a soft pomf as her body started sinking into it. She stayed laying on her front for several seconds before lifting only her head with her ears flattened as close to her head as they could. She looked up and noticed Myrnin standing nearby. He saw that, didn't he? "U-Um, hey." She greeted in embarrassment as she got to her feet.
