Komaeda blinked in, his foot, accidentally, kicking over a small pile of gold and jewelry. Gazing down, a small, golden box clattered to his feet, and he couldn't help but pick it up, eyes curiously shimmering as bright as the precious metal was. Clicking it open revealed a pretty heart shaped earring made of rose quartz, craddled by the soft fabric in the container.
This would fit...
...Clicking it back shut, he could only think about what a stroke of good luck this was.
When Naegi blinked in, however, the room drastically changed, as he was the one who had been giving and giving, and the only other person in the room currently was intending on the same exact thing. The room humbled itself by shrinking in size, marble and silk and gold becoming a cheaper material, the walls and ceiling and furniture shifting to be made out of old, creaky wood. Instead of a throne room, it was now an old timey church with cheap stained glass, a door behind the podium undoubtedly leading into the next room.

Naegi noticed Noctin as soon as he blinked in, and could only offer a tired sigh when he was, again, blatantly ignored. Maybe... it was time to start giving up on salvaging what little remained of their friendship. A depressing thought, sure, but there was nothing else he could do now. He tried gifts, talking, even apologizing, and nothing got him anywhere...
...He sighed. He supposed that this was what Noctin wanted, anyways... He had been the one who brushed off every single attempt to fix their relationship by far.
As Naegi moved forward, his foot kicked something large and round, clinking and sliding across the floor from the impact. Gazing down, he saw that it was the same obsidian stone that had cut him before... The only gemstone that didn't disappear from the room, too. How strange. Picking it up, he pocketed it for later, after observing the dried blood that still clung to its sharp edge.
The lucky student started towards the door, moving past Noctin, Komaeda hot on his heels. Opening the door, he walked through it, not even sparing the Desolate a glance.
Komaeda, however, hung back, fixating his curious gaze on Noctin. "Hello, Noctin-kun! It's Komaeda again," he clarified, remembering their last encounter. "Is something still bothering you?"

Noctin watched Naegi out of the corner of his eye, bracing himself as the boy approached.
Nothing.
He was a little surprised, but relieved. Thank the spirits. It was over- for now. He had no doubt that Naegi would try again. People like Naegi didn't give up. They waited for him to drop his guard and then they attacked. Well, Naegi would be hard pressed then. Noctin wasn't going to let his guard down. Not ever.
He stopped, letting Naegi pass so he wouldn't have to be near him. Unfortunately, that meant dealing with Komaeda. Not sparing Komaeda a single glance, he muttered, "**** off," then stalked into the room.
Immediately he felt the prick of an urge he hadn't felt in a long time. Souls. He wanted them. He needed them. A look of pure and absolute terror came over his face. Nonono he didn't need any souls he was fine now he was happy now there was no reason- Even as he tried to convince himself of that, he found himself eyeing Naegi just in front of him, imagining just how it would feel to take his soul.

Mob blinked back in, catching a few familiar faces exiting the room. He trotted after them, eyes glancing from Noctin, to Komaeda, and finally to Naegi. The latter seemed to be lost in his thoughts, and the other two were talking amongst themselves, so the young psychic figured this would be a great opportunity to talk to Naegi again.
Upon entering this new room, a certain feeling began to well up in his chest and stomach... He couldn't exactly identify it yet, nor did he feel like doing so until it became a bigger issue. But if one thing was for certain, he really wanted to talk to Naegi, and had the confidence to do so.
"Naegi-san!" He called, hair bobbing as he pushed his way past Noctin and Komaeda to approach the highschooler. "Its nice to see you again. How are things going?"

It was a warm, happy room to him. Warm, and...
Just like the living room of his own house, family couch centered in the middle.
The nearby stairs were blocked off by a road sign, but other than that, everything was mostly the same. To him, it felt like he had been away for years, even though it was just a few days.
Above him, he could hear his parents' footsteps as they clomped around in their own room, and, most of all...
...He could hear Komaru, joyfully chatterng away in her own room, assumedly on the phone.
She was happy.
Warm.
Safe.
A sudden wave of grief washed over him at this, physically recoiling and stepping back, hands covering his face. Because...
...Because he knew this was just a sick trick of the house. Just to taunt him, make fun of him...
...Was this because he valued Komaru's secret above his friendship with Noctin? Was this his punishment, now?
Suddenly, his attention was torn from his grief at a new voice, turning to face Mob. Forcing a smile on his face, he waved. "Hello, Kageyama-kun! Things have been... good." A lie, but whatever. "You?"
Following after Noctin, Komaeda had no intention of ceasing his pestering of the Desolate. "I'd love to, but I'm still a little curious about you. After all... if I couldn't deal with a hot temper every now and then, I wouldn't be a very suiting dog for Hinata-kun, now, would I?"
...Then he stepped into the room, a sudden, dastardly change in mood crashing over him. It was too obvious to ignore, too negative of a fog to feel any good about.
...What was this?
...Despair?
No, it was... a desire. A desire burning up within him, consuming each and every other rational thought he had in its favor. He wanted. He wanted, he wanted, he wanted to see the greatest hope, he wanted...
...He wanted Hinata most of all. His love, his warmth, his hate, his disgust... everything. It was a sick and perverted sentiment that burned in him, but he couldn't turn it away, either.
Hinata...
Blank and empty gaze shifting back to Noctin, Komaeda couldn't help but notice how lesser he was compared to his oh so dearly beloved. Too easily did the Desolate give in to despair, after all. Too easily did he let his emotions consume him.
It was disappointing. Too disappointing.
"Noctin-kun..." He started, voice laced with a sinister tone. "What a ghastly look you have on your face. And all directed to Naegi-kun, too... Are you planning on killing him again?" His eyes darkened with detest. "Out of despair? Because you can't hold a single conversation with him before giving in to your own feelings? It's gross. Disgusting, even, how you think you can even exist like that."

Flandre blinked in, reading a book on the floor. It dropped out of her hands almost the instant she blinked in, crimson eyes showing surprise at her sudden appearance. She felt kind of strange, but the vampire was struggling to recognize what it was. At first, at least.
It slowly dawned on her that her senses, which were already sensitive normally, were far heightened. She could hear every heart beat in the room, and sweat started to gather on her palms as, more importantly, she could feel all the pulses. All the blood moving through their bodies.
The blood. The blood. The BLOOD. She was trembling by this point, eyes unfocused as she stared blankly at the wall.
The one problem here, was that she didn't actually know how to feed...

Noctin flinched at Komaeda's words. Damn, was it really that obvious? But Komaeda was wrong. It wasn't Naegi he wanted- it was the soul. As horrible as Naegi was, Noctin knew he was essentially made of hope. His soul, for the most part, would be pure. Noctin could only imagine how it would feel to take. Unlike anything he had ever experienced before. It was tempting- no it was beyond that. He unconsciously took a step closer to Naegi.
A thought then occurred to him. With the soul would come memories. Memories that could fill Noctin in on whatever Naegi was keeping from him. He would be complete.
The desire increased tenfold and suddenly all he could see was Naegi. He could take it. It would be so, so simple. Naegi couldn't fight, and all it would take was a single touch-
NO.
Noctin wrenched his gaze from Naegi, turning away sharply. He was shaking hard as he forced himself to walk away. He was done with this- he wasn't a monster anymore. He felt sick. Sick that he had even considered it, sick that a large part of himself was still screaming for him to do it. A low moan escaped him as he sank to the floor.
He wouldn't do it, he wouldn't do it, he wouldn't do it, he wouldn't do it-

Komaeda stepped to the side a bit as Noctin moved forward, disgust twisting his unusually empty face. "I guess you really are a monster." He sighed, running a hand through his messy white hair as he spoke. "So quickly did you forget the last room with Naegi-kun. Even his last words, which were, ah..." Pausing, he hummed slightly as he recalled it from within his memories, the darkened room coming back to mind. "'What are you doing...?! N-no...! You don't have to--'"
...It was far too perfect of a match. No one would've been able to tell the difference.
Thankfully, he stopped himself, hands folded innocently behind his back. "...Wasn't that right, Noctin-kun? I'm disappointed... to find out that you're even lesser than I am. Such potential you held, too... if only you didn't let your anger blind you so easily."

"Ah, that's good, I-" He started, before his attention seemed to be pulled away by something. To Naegi, he seemed like he was staring at the corner of the room in his house. Lips flubbering, Mob couldn't even form a sentence as his eyes darted from one side to the other. He was so distracted in having a conversation, he'd almost forgotten to take a look around.
And what a sight. Atop the balcony of his room he stood with Naegi, the others not far behind- and there were people all around them below. Faces of friends, family, strangers... His classmates, the Body Improvement Club, Tome, Inugawa, Kijibayashi, Saruta, Onigawara, Mezato, Emi... His mother. His father. Ritsu, smiling. There was Mr. Reigen, Serizawa, Dimple, Teruki, Shou, and the former members of CLAW's seventh division, standing beside his teacher. They looked up and waved.
Two words hit Mob... Respect. Adoration.
All these people, strangers and loved ones alike, looked up to him. They admired him.
His gaze fell on another face in the crowd. Tsubomi-chan. He waved to her, before noticing the number written on his hand. He didn't need to ask; much like a dream, he already understood. It was the cell phone number of his crush. A blush crept to middleschooler's cheeks, a smile spreading across his face. This feeling was like none other. The attention... It was something he'd desired for a long time, but had always tried to keep it buried under humility.
He almost forgot to finish what he was saying to Naegi. "Huh-? Oh... Sorry. I..." Mob found that, even after the smile that had slipped back into his usual deadpan, the redness of his face and the giddiness of his tone wouldn't leave. This was... Extremely unlike him. But it felt good.
"I'm good... But... What..." He couldn't figure out what he wanted to say. His mind was too swarmed with thoughts to say anything properly.

Komaeda was right; he was a monster.
No he wasn't, he hadn't done anything yet-
But did that even matter? Everyone he had hurt before-
But that didn't mean he had to keep doing things like that-
Naegi deserved to die.
No he didn't.
Defeat filled him at Komaeda's imitation of Naegi's dying words. It didn't mean anything to him. Not now. It wasn't the life that he wanted to take. He didn't care about the life. If he did, he would've been wanting to burn Naegi's soul out, not take it. Naegi would still be alive in the fragmented, broken conscious that souls existed in outside of bodies. It wasn't enjoyable, but he wouldn't be dead.
Being lesser than Komaeda wasn't exactly surprising. It was something Noctin had suspected for a long time- No that was wrong.
He wasn't worse than Komaeda. He was fighting the room- Komaeda wasn't.
Oh.
He was winning. He was fighting the room, and he, him alone, he was winning. The lust for Naegi's soul vanished in the tide of shock that came with the realization: He was winning.
A laugh bubbled up to his lips as the weight was lifted off his shoulders. He was free. He didn't need the soul. He didn't want it anymore. Komaeda was wrong; he wasn't a monster.

What was the point of fighting all this?
That was a question that had been on Komaeda's head ever since the first room. After all, the point was to bring out the worst in them, displaying their sins for all to see. Sins that had been, no doubt, deeply routed in each of them, childhood ways of thinking that never died or wormed their way out. Even if they defeated it for this room... it would be back. It would always be back. Komaeda could fight off his lust, but there was, no doubt, a point in time where it would surface again. Perhaps it would be because someone died, because someone had been too risky with something sharp, because someone planned to kill another, because, because, for love, for hope (despair?), for him, because--
The tiny voice whispering at the back of his head suddenly ceased, dead shadowy gaze shifting over to Noctin once more.
He was laughing. Surely, he thought the tragedy of having his true colors being revealed was over for now. Because he could resist it for now.
Something told him this was only the calm before the storm, before something drastic happened.
Face twistinf with disgust, he could only turn away, facing the room he never really focused on before.
It was a fantastic, advanced utopia, glimmering with bright sights, stars twinkling in the bright sky before him, moon shining on his face. A wonderful place, filled wih only hope for the future. Where despair had no longer existed, good thriving in its place. There were large, adult-sized pillows of Hinata, along with his picture plastered on the many walls of buildings, and on the message boards that had so littered the city. Red and pink cutout hearts surrounded each picture, appearing as something you would find in a lovestruck person's locker.
...Somebody else's love...
~
Naegi watched Mob's expression change with intrigue, following his gaze to the corner of the room. What could be so interesting about that corner, that it would make Mob's expression change so drastically? Glancing back, he watched his eyes dart to and fro at, seemingly, nothing at all.
...Was he seeing something different?
Concern quickly melted into surprise, however, when a smile appeared on the boy's face as he gazed to his hand. Then, he, too, couldn't help but feel happy for him. Especially since Mob never seemed like a very expressive person.
Naegi only smiled at the boy's apology, a small laugh leaving him. "It's fine. ...I like your smile, Kageyama-kun. It suits you."

Mob stared at Naegi with bright eyes, the blush on his face growing deeper before he averted his gaze, "I... Thank you, that's very flattering, Naegi-kun."
Shigeo turned his head to look at the crowd of people again, their voices ringing out and calling to him. The bubbling warmth that he felt in his chest suddenly faltered, as he looked between Naegi and his friends. "Wait... How can..." Realization dawned upon the esper; How could Naegi be standing here, in his house, as well...? No... This wasn't his house. It was still The Paradox House.
His giddy expression fell, "... I get it. This... This isn't real, is it...?" eyes falling on the number on his hand, Shigeo's eyebrows furrowed from under his bangs. Tsubomi-chan would never have given him this, not as he was now. He probably wouldn't have realized what was going on, if he hadn't dealt with something similar before. Mogami's nightmare realm, that turned, twisted, and broken him so hard that he almost intentionally killed someone... Only instead of ripping his mentality and morality to shreds, The House was projecting his deepest desire on the room to pull him in, maybe make him stay there forever. His lust for attention. There was only one way to confirm his suspicion.
"Naegi-kun, what are you seeing?" The cheering from the crowd had turned into blaring white noise.

Riliane blinked into the room, examining a luxurious diamond ring with a satisfied smirk. With a haughty giggle, she was ready to purchase the object from the merchant until she glanced up and saw the object of her insatiable desire. Seated in a elegant, golden chair was the illusion of tall, young man with vibrant cobalt blue hair that matched his eyes and regal outfit. The princess' heart melted and her cheeks were colored with a bright shade of red at the sight of his gentle smile. "Kyle..." She whispered, and despite her hesitation, she reached out, attempting to touch the illusion's hand.
(Hey Stripie! We're currently doing a lust room cx!)
